Absolutely lovely food and some of the friendliest staff around. I am always enjoying the food I have there and it is very nice to go there with my friends from time to time

9th November 2024,myself and my wife visited the aphro lounge today had the tapas and a dessert each,shared 6 bowls of tapas between us wow wow wow it was stunning,the staff were so very friendly attentive polite and so flat out busy we take our hats off to u all we were where we could see the kitchen staff also flat out but saw smiles in there to shout out to the chefs to food is magnificent,thankyou to everyone for or experience we'll be back soon.

Great food (I had the buttermilk chicken), great staff and a beautifully, decorated building (I particularly liked the lighting in our area that was made up of dozens of lampshades). We turned up at 9:40pm on a weekday (Wednesday, I think) and we were told that the kitchen closed at 10pm, but the staff were very polite and our food was perfectly cooked, delicious and we weren't rushed at all.

My buttermilk chicken was a bit overcooked for me but they charged it without issue and gave me some fries to eat whilst I was waiting for a freshly made one. Couldn't fault them, food lovely

Esto es parte de la cadena Lounges. El menú parece ser el mismo en todos ellos, así que si has estado en uno antes sabes qué esperar. La atracción principal es la decoración, que es muy agradable y era un lugar cómodo para esperar más de media hora para nuestra comida. Un consejo: si quieres que una bebida caliente acompañe a tu comida, probablemente sea mejor no pedirla al mismo tiempo que la comida porque la habrás terminado mucho antes de que llegue la comida. Para ser justos, estaban anunciando para un chef en las redes sociales, así que espero que encuentren uno pronto!

Food is excellent and staff are courteous and polite, minor downside is the lighting makes the venue a bit dingy but overall, very good.

We visited Athro Lounge for lunch this afternoon after looking online for restaurants / cafés with healthier options. The menu here looked fab - they have plenty of healthier options, including vegetarian, which is so refreshing to see. We had to wait about 10 minutes for a table as it was busy there, but we didn't mind that as there were some seats to sit and wait. It was fairly noisy as it's such a big, open place - kitchen & bar noises, talking etc. I have autism so I find background noise quite overwhelming, but I just popped my Loop Switch earbuds in. I'm sure it's fine for most people. It was easy to order the food on my phone using the QR code, but you can also order at the bar. Our food was absolutely delicious! I had the Mezze Salad Bowl (pictured) while my fiancé had the Buddha Bowl with halloumi cheese. I was a little disappointed that there were no pommegranate seeds on my salad (as stated on the menu) but this was only a minor thing. My fiancé and I both thoroughly enjoyed a healthy, delicious lunch in a beautifully decorated, historical school building. I loved the little touches of the framed school photos dotted around the place. The decor is quite quirky and definitely embraces the building's history. I love it! We would definitely recommend and would be happy to visit again. Diolch!

Really lovely staff and place to come and enjoy. Menu is pretty great and they do cater for vegans and gluten free. Had a really lovely time and prices are not silly. I’m a big guy and normally want a really large breakfast but even then normal one filled me up for the day. Would definitely come back again and again. I also love this place as they allow dogs which is great.

We got there early for breakfast and it was really quiet. The building and decor is very cool and the menu is big. There's lots of gluten free options. I can recommend the sweetcorn fritters - so crispy and delicious. If I lived in town, I would definitely go back!

Increíble comida y servicio! Un restaurante precioso. Fuimos hace unas noches a probar el nuevo menú y estaba delicioso! El burrito de maíz dulce y frijol negro era increíble y las bebidas eran tan buenas como siempre.

Tengo un par de cosas para elegir aquí, soy un cliente regular, ya que generalmente disfruto athros. Sin embargo hoy estaba muy insatisfecha, me dijeron que no había crema para el batido, sin embargo vimos un batido pasar con crema! También suele haber mucho queso en las patatas fritas de queso triple, deben cambiar el nombre de este plato a mitad de patatas fritas de queso. TAMBIÉN la pita estaba fría y viciada con mi feta. Todo el personal es encantador, pero parece que los cheffs necesitan poner más esfuerzo en su trabajo, ya que está decepcionando al lugar.

Brilliant service from start to finish. Every one was polite and the atmosphere was ace. One order was gluten free and absolute 10 out of 10 for there gluten free efforts to seprate the food and makes sure everything was seprate. I would recommend to eat here, we went twice because the GF menu variation was brilliant including tapas that came with gf bread And I really enjoyed the muggle food the chicken in buttermilk was a treat- would recommend it to try if your unsure what to try The gluten free photos are the ones with red flags.

Its my partner's 80th birthday on the 15th on the 12th she has a meeting with an old friend so I thought to surprise her, I asked to see the manager and was fobbed off with a sub-manager who I asked for some special treatment like a cake and maybe flowers but was told they could not do anything like that unless I supplied them, I have in previous years asked for the same service at various establishments with no problem, but not this one, needless to say I will boycott this place in the future and get as many of my friends to do the same, very shortsighted.

This is the second time we've come within the 4 days we've stayed in Aberystwyth and it's such an amazing place, great food and the service was perfect. The first time coming we had tapas and it was lovely and the second time I had a vegan burger. Compared to other places where it was roughly the same price this blows all of them out of water! Gorgeously cooked with well seasoned chips and a vegan coleslaw, I couldn't ask for anything more. I didn't get the servers name the first time but Nathan served us when we came back and he was so welcoming and lovely! 10/10 will visit other branches within the UK

A lovely little cafe, in what was once an old school building. Friendly staff, quick service and a nice environment with tables inside and out.

Had a fantastic lunch at the Athro Lounge today. The Nasi Goreng Malaysian chicken and prawn dish was amazing, as was the semifreddo dessert. Service was excellent. Staff pleasant and friendly. This is a little gem in the heart of Aberystwyth. Third visit and the food has been excellent on each occasion. Would highly recommend.

Nice fresh new place in the town. Lots of drink choices and eat to bites. On this time. after many visits the food was perfect but the coffee hot drinks still need lots of improvements. The best coffee in town aberystwyth is still coffee 1 on terrace road

Nice venue, nice food, dog friendly, friendly staff.

After a long day of travelling to drop the son at uni from Cambridge, the was a happy accident of finding. We went in and the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome, service was quick but perfect. The food we ordered was hot and delicious, it only gets 5 stars because I couldn't give it 10.

Called in on a busy Saturday and were lucky to get a table with a really comfy sofa! Dog friendly which was a bonus. Staff were friendly and attentive. I had a tapas board with a cocktail, really lovely. Husband had a pancake stack and he was also really impressed. The interior is nice, it’s roomy and with a nice atmosphere. Excellent menu and we look forward to returning to try out more of it! Highly recommend 😊

Loved the food interesting menu

The staff were very friendly. The food was very nice and arrived really quickly. Unfortunately we didn't stay longer than we wanted to due to a large group of people that arrived. Our table was right next to them and one of the people kept bumping into my elderly father.

Was a great way to end my trip in Aberystwyth, I couldn’t get enough. Even treated myself to a few cocktails after dessert and was a great night supported by a wonderful atmosphere. The decor is quirky and whimsical in the best way possible and the food is immaculate. Would recommend to anyone who loves good food and alcohol.

Please tell the male waiter who was working there today for lunch, 16th September, to learn the contents of the menu and to not dismiss your customers when they point something out. I ordered the Moroccan aubergine flatbread today, and i received it without chickpeas. I asked the waiter and he said it didn’t include chickpeas but it’s clearly listed on the menu. It was also missing the pomegranate seeds which i realised later on too. If you don’t have all the elements for a dish, you should not serve it and ask the customer if they want to order something else.

Popped in for a quick early evening dinner before going home after a long (18 Km) walk. Very tasty food, served quickly and efficiently. Welcoming atmosphere and attentive staff. Lots of veggie options. Would certainly visit again when we are in the area.

5 Stars – A Memorable Dining Experience at Artho I had the pleasure of dining at Artho this evening, and it was truly one of the best restaurant experiences I’ve had in the UK. From the moment we walked in, the warm and wonderful welcome from the waitress set the tone for the evening. Her attentive and friendly service made us feel right at home. The drinks, coffee, and cake were absolutely superb—some of the best I’ve ever tasted! The food overall was great, though the steak could have been a bit fresher. However, the quality of everything else easily made up for it. Artho’s inviting atmosphere and exceptional service make it easy to give this place a full 5 stars. The interior decoration is simply amazing, with a stylish and modern vibe that makes dining here feel special. If you’re looking for a memorable culinary experience, Artho is definitely a must-visit! Man, just give people a normal portion of chips/rice

We arrived just after three for a quick lunch on our day trip to Aberystwyth. Arthro came recommended. On entering the bar we were advised to take a seat and a waitress would be with us shortly. We waited for over thirty minutes and people came and went but no staff. It was a shame as we were hungry and no one seemed to appear to take our order. So I'm afraid we took our patronage with us. The menu looked good but we found the service sadly lacking.

Really great fast food options at this place, the menu covers breakfast, brunch, mains, sides, salads as well as amazing shakes. We had the Bang Bang chicken and cauliflower with tapas and milkshakes 😌 The service is quick too but could be better, with basics like water being served by them.. had to refill my own water glass multiple times by walking to the water station. Anyway, really pretty decor and beautiful lampshades are decorated with very high ceilings, great victorian vibes.

Great first visit to Athro Lounge, Aberystwyth Welcomed immediately and staff were all very friendly. Service was quick for drinks and cocktail happy hour was a bonus. Food was great, really tasty and as ordered. Would recommend and will definitely be going again.

It's like a fancy spoons. More expensive and better food options but same quality as you would expect from a spoons. A lot better and makes you feel fancy so worth it for a special occasion.

What a quirky place, staff were so so friendly, even gave our dog a treat. Food was fantastic, 1 bang bang chicken and 1 Caribbean chicken curry, both so tasty with garlic & parmesan fries, watch out dracula we are loaded with garlic... overall a very pleasant meal and even though we are only passing through I would highly recommend 5stars , well done.

Waited half hour for a breakfast egg came out raw sent back they broke it chucking in back into the pan brought out the same egg rest of breakfast was cold chips cold burger warm not recommended

I accidentally ordered to the wrong lounge but the staff spotted my mistake as I was the only one on the table who's food hadn't arrived, so he checked and swiftly phoned the manager in the other lounge to cancel ☺ I got a full refund ☺ I didn't have to mess around giving him all my details or order number or anything like that he just fixed it with no fuss and no messing! ❤ Very grateful ☺

Fantastic staff, good food and a beautiful building. So we all know it's a chain/ franchised brand but it's the staff that makes our breaks these places and you couldn't find a better crew than they have in Aber. Despite having a busier evening than expected staff were more than pleasant, warned us there would be a wait and we as cheerful at 10:30 as they were when we arrived two and half hours earlier. We had a great meal, dessert and coffee at a reasonable price. Definitely a great place to eat in Aberystwyth

Food is pretty good and the place is decorated really well. It's great that they have Welsh language writing on the chalkboard wall and the effort they've made with the interior design is amazing. My only issue is that the staff were not very friendly or well trained. A member of staff wiped out table down, but actually just pushed all of the crumbs and bits of food onto our legs. I then asked if someone could give me some glasses for the water dispenser and the staff member acted like I was being unreasonable or inconvenient. He sighed, walked off, came back with the glasses, all with an expression of disdain on his face and without saying a word. Really weird way to treat a paying customer who is making a polite and completely normal request. If they could improve the customer service here, I'm sure it would benefit business massively.

A stunning and quiet building nestled in a busy city centre. The food was beautifully made, and they supported my.sons Autism with food. Friendly staff. Overall amazing.

Housed in a renovated old school building. Lovely interior & ambience which still evokes its previous use

Buttermilk Fried Chicken. It tasted OK but was rather dry, as if it was not cooked to order and been keep warm for quite a while. Tender stem broccoli rather tough! An OK meal. Very loud 'background' music. Plymouth Royal William Yard and my local Stamford Cosy Club are so much better.

I would love to give the Lounge five stars but unfortunately we’ve been told a few too many times the foods we want to order weren’t available. Even the options we had as back ups tend to be unavailable sometimes. This wouldn’t be a big issue but since I have intolerances, I tend to pick the foods that I know are safe. The atmosphere is always lovely and the staff are friendly.

I am writing to express my utter disappointment and disgust with the meal I received at your restaurant. I ordered a steak, which was expected to be a highlight of my dining experience. However, this was completely ruined by the presence of a large chunk of mud or soil stuck to the vegetables that accompanied the dish. Consuming mud at a restaurant is an absolutely appalling experience, and it is beyond belief that such a basic hygiene oversight could occur in your establishment. This incident not only reflects poorly on your kitchen’s cleanliness standards but also poses serious health risks to your customers.

The best bit was the banoffee pie. Fresh and delicious. The food was very nice.

Had a GF tapas and a non GF tapas and fought over GF Parmesan and garlic fries! Had chicken wings, prawns, bang bang cauliflower and brisket chilli, all really nice, prompt and friendly service. Never disappointed eating here. ❤️

Went in today , took ages to get served, asked for the Bacon and Sausage Butty, for £5.50 as stated on the menu. Waitress wanted an extra £3.00 for the sausage. We left, never to return.

We come here most weeks as live close to Aberystwyth, it’s beginning to look very tiered and grubby now needs a good dust and clean , cobwebs from curtains to lamps in windows and all the beautiful lamp shades as so dusty do wonder who going to end up with the rolled of dust in food or drink , so we chop our seating carefully

The vegan fryer was out of use and we weren’t told this until seated and about to order food which was a staff issue. Only one item available to eat from the menu. A little disappointed, but still a nice place to visit and past experience proves this was probably an oversight on the day

Warm drinks - cold terrible food. We have eaten in this restaurant before and the food standard was good. Not on this occasion. 90% of our food was pre cooked a long time before we had arrived. Will not be going back to this restaurant again.

I've been to several of the 'Lounge' bars, and they are consistently very good. This one has been converted from an old school, and the decor is simpler than some of their others but still done to a high standard. The food and service were excellent as always.

Generally, a good place to eat, offering a reasonable menu from burgers to spicy curried dishes. All well cooked. Fair range of drinks as well. All items are reasonably priced. Staff are as helpful as possible. However, if you have a food intolerance or allergy they just rely on addressing the top 14 allergies and which menu items to avoid. They have no list of ingredients they are willing to share so, not a great place to eat if you want to know if a specific ingredient is in the food.
