Athena in Bath and North East Somerset

We have had yet another fabulous evening at Athena in Radstock. Harry and his team produce fantastic food in wonderful surroundings and at such great value for money! We are so lucky to have this fantastic restaurant on our doorstep and we will return again and again! Thank you Harry!

Booked dinner here with a friend. Ordered our meal but asked if there was any yeast in the bread served with the dips. Was told there was yeast in the bread so I was happy to just skip that part. I am not allergic to yeast, I just have an intolerance to large amounts of it in bread. The waitress then came back to the table and said I couldn't have the main course I had ordered as it had yeast extract in it. I explained that I wasn't allergic to it and the yeast extract in a main dish without bread would be fine. The owner (I think) / chef then came out of the kitchen to tell me that he would not serve me that meal. Again I tried to explain that I would be find with yeast extract in a dish, etc but he became aggressive and raised his voice to me and said it was up to him whether or not he would serve me that meal and he had decided he would not serve me. I understand the importance of allergy awareness etc and don't take it lightly. However, the way he spoke to me was awful and completely inappropriate. We left the restaurant at this point and ate at another nearby restaurant instead who were more than happy to help.

Our visit was to celebrate a birthday and the staff were excellent. The food was fantastic as was the atmosphere. Excellent value for money and we will be back soon. Can't recommend enough, you will not be disappointed.

Our first visit last night and it definitely won't be our last .Made to feel welcome as soon as we walked through the door . The staff were fantastic and couldn't do enough for us .The food was amazing even the chef came to our table to ask about our experience there . Wonderful atmosphere and the plate smashing just topped off the evening perfectly.

100% perfect meal 3 courses which looked brilliant but tasted amazing it's a hidden gem in Radstock also the prices to me were affordable for a very good night out .

Really good fixed price menu, starting with warm pitta bread and really good dips Inc. Tzatziki, Taramasolata (my personal favourite) Olive Tapenade & Humous. Mains were less exiting, I had the mixed beef/lamb kebabs with rice, ok nut not amazing while my wife had haloumi skewers that looked fab. Very reasonably priced, no alcohol licence, a BYO place but none the worse for that. Service was nice and overall a very nice little quite traditional Greek restaurant.

Literally unbelievable value. Great quality, very fresh. Went here with a friend for the first time, and was surprised by a midweek special menu. Brilliant.

Wonderfully authentic Greek food and lovely atmosphere! Always incredible food which is cooked to order and presented beautifully. Incredible value and bring your own alcohol which makes it even better (if that’s possible!). A real hidden gem and well worth a visit!

Absolutely loved our anniversary meal here, great value and the cutest decor and lovely atmosphere. We visited midweek on the £14.95pp deal; dips and pitta breads to share, starter, main and either ice cream or coffee. Staff were very friendly and the food was really nice… felt like we were in Greece 🇬🇷 will definitely return and recommend!

We have just had yet another fabulous meal at Athena! Thank you Harry! I almost didn’t want to leave a review, as I wanted to keep this special place a secret! The setting is very reminiscent of a little Greek taverna. The food is fantastic, portions are huge and it’s excellent value for money! There is free parking nearby if necessary. You need to book in advance as word is getting out! We will keep going back again and again!
