Atelier Restaurant in Hertsmere

Situated in the Hilton hotel. Breakfast was good enough - cooked goods and cold cuts. Also had a few pastries ands waffle maker. Selection of juices and cereals too. Nothing amazing but good enough. Quite an extensive food menu for the evening. Quite over priced for what you got but again it was nice enough and convenient just to come down stairs from the hotel. At lunch time there were loads of people having business meetings and chatting away about this deal and that thing which was a bit annoying but I guess it does sell itself as a business hotel.

The breakfast is amazing and I would highly recommend however what is hard to fathom is the terrible food served in the evening. It was just so average and the fish was very greasy. I would recommend breakfast and eat elsewhere for dinner.

We ate here for my birthday, although due to the previous reviews nearly didn't. I would like to contest the reviews- the meal we've just eaten was lovely. I had mustard chicken, my fiance had ravioli. Both were perfectly cooked, the chicken was moist, the wine was beautiful, the dessert demolished in moment. Don't pay that much attention to the negativity, we personally loved it. The staff were also great, nothing to moan about.

Es un hotel funcional. Por todas partes hay gente trabajando sentarse y reuniones y planificación. Pero es local y nos hemos ido de vez en cuando, debido a su ubicación. Casi en el medio de la nada, pero cerca de Costco. Una zona excepto una excelente chino no hay restaurantes. Se podría pensar que este hotel sería capitalizar hecho thi. Así que, ¿qué se busca en este tipo de restaurante que está en un hotel. Bien un poco de ambiente relajante incluso si sería bueno. Así que supongo que el hecho de que está abajo en un mal iluminada y no demasiado cómoda área de descanso debe ser la primera señal. Buen servicio sería otro atractivo. Sin embargo, esta es servida por el personal más profesional que he visto. Decir que hay lento (y descuidadas) sería amable- pasan a un ritmo tortuoso. Y por último, el menú y la comida. Esta utilizada para otro podría conseguir una razonable café y un sandwich sin romper el banco. Me refiero a después de todo estás ya sea trabajando y apurados o han parado de camino a algún sitio. Así los precios han sido caminaron. Más allá de todo es un sándwich club comprensión 14 libras. 95. Que es más caro que Harrods, más caro que el precioso Grove no demasiado lejos. Yo no soy malvado, pero si voy a comer un bocadillo por ese precio yo quiero todos los adornos que van con él. Buena comida, ambiente y servicio. Nada de eso está en oferta. Como para el café es un tercio más caro que Starbuck, y mucho peor para el desgaste. Obviamente Head Office ha rediseñado el entorno y el menú sin el tono justo. Este es el peor valor, servicio y comida que he comido. Nunca volveré y os sugiero que vienen con su propia comida si te alojas allí.

Yo estaba bajo la impresión de este restaurante era elegante y glamour, pero frocks fue tristemente equivocado. Las personas estaban mejor vestidos en la cosechadora. El servicio era muy lento con una pobre joven camarero corriendo. La comida era tan tan, pero no espectacular. Que se había acabado de Stella en 7. 30:00 el viernes por la noche, así que mi novio tenía Stella negro que él dice que no era agradable. Para ser honestos, había un chino de la calle me hubiera gustado haber ido. Como este restaurante está en el Hotel Hilton creo que debe reflejar el nombre y eliges ir por una sensación.

I preferred the old layout to the Restaurant before they changed it, but they still do a good breakfast here. There is plenty of choice, and you can even make your own waffles and pancakes. There is a wide range of cereals and fruit, as well as hot and cold choices to follow. A special mention must go to Esme and Jaime, who have been there a long time, and always look after us well.

Poor service understaffed and food disappointing when it finally arrived Suggest a re think in this restaurant !!!

This restaurant is located in the Watford Hilton. The food is ok, although there isn't a huge range on the menu, but it's fairly typical for a hotel restaurant. Service in both the restaurant and bar area is slow.

Contract it out Hilton throw in the towel and stick to selling moderate bedrooms. The service is very poor with an invisible Restaurant Manager, inconsistent standards very poor food and lots of Hotel Managers looking busy walking in and out completely oblivious to the decline. Bizarre menu, little staff training. Frustratingly great breakfasts, good standards well run and slick.

having stayed and used the bar to eat on countless occasions I have twice tried the restaurant. The fact I know its twice is because the food was OK, service OK, but the food was dire and extremely slow (can't blame waiting staff for that). Don't bother.

This restaurant is attached to the hotel. Service was very good and the food (sea bass) lovely. Thank you.

Had breakfast here on a recent visit, hot food was cold, service was terrible had to wait twenty minutes to get tea/coffee after being seated

Good food and friendly staff, dinner for 3 of us came in at just over £80 for 3 courses. Not a huge menu, but it was good quality food served efficiently. Not much more you could ask for from a hotel restaurant.

Good friendly staff and surprisingly good well presented food; ok the goats cheese bruschetta is simple but you've got to make it look right. Corn fed chicken with fondant potato was spot on-nice and moist; it also came with dwarf beans (not mentioned on the menu-meant I ordered red cabbage as well).

Together with my husband were for the first time in UK for a 12 days holiday and we started staying 4 days at this nice hotel. It is different from what we have in States but it was not bad. The check-in was fast, we've been welcomed in a friendly and warm manner. The room was a bit updated, but it was clean and cosy. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant with a lot of choices. The food was very good and the service excellent. Diane was our waitress and all her recommendation regarding food, promotional drinks and what we can visit in the area were excellent. Not to mention that she has a beautiful and genuine smile… Many thanks to her. We will definitely coming back next year.

Just been for a family meal. Drinks took 30 minutes to arrive. Started another 15 minutes mains another 45 mins. Food was fine once it arrived but then by the time it dud we were all rather hungry.

Nous pensions d'abord aller manger en dehors de l'hôtel mais après une longue journée de ballade (et après la piscine et le sauna) plus personne n'avait vraiment le courage de ressortir.La carte est classique, les prix correctes idem pour les vins.Juste le service un peu lent.

After an enjoyable afternoon at Harry Potter Studios, a meal in the hotel restaurant was just what we needed: we wanted good food, a good atmosphere and no need to go anywhere else. The restaurant staff were brilliant, attentive (but in no way overly so), friendly and helpful. We had a really lovely meal - delicious, perfectly cooked steak for the adults and very happy children who had a mixture of the children's and adults' menu. Would recommend.

Great food, well prepared and kept hot. Plently of it too. Fishcakes were excellent. Turkey was moist and succulent which is very often not the case in my experience, especially from a "Buffet".

Went with friends on a Saturday night and we were really impressed with the standard of our meal. The restaurant itself was fairly quiet that night but that made a nice change for us because we didn't have to shout to hear each other speak !The service wasn't the fastest , however all our food was delicious!The seared scallop starters were delicious and perfectly cooked. The steaks were all cooked perfectly and very tasty and the grilled salmon was succulent. We all managed desserts too , the ice cream with hot chocolate sauce was delicious .Nothing was too much trouble and our waitress was a really sweet lovely lady .Will most definitely return , had a great evening ......

Having a taste card, means you try lots of new places that you wouldn’t normally visit, and the Hilton Watford is one of them. Having lived in the area all my life- I have never thought to check out the options that the Hotels offer.I visited this place about 3 years ago , on the taste card (50% off Food bill) and have been coming here ever since- at least once every 2-3 months.The menu is constantly changing, and always have a very good variety. The Atelier restaurant, has a unique way of cooking, as well as combining different ingredients together which compliment your main meal. The portions sizes are fairly large, and good value for money- usually a main course each is the right amount. The service, and setting of the restaurant is well presented, and the staff really take care of you.All in all a good treat- especially nice for Special occasions.

I had been awarded a 3 course and champagne cocktail for 2 at a Hilton voucher at work through our rewards and recognition scheme and the Watford Hilton is the most local one to my boyfriend's house. I wasn't expecting much I must say, especially pulling up to the hotel but this place exceeded my expectations and is a little gem! HIdden away in the corner of the hotel, you have to pass down through the bar/lounge to get there and I must admit I was thinking 'what have I let myself in for' however I was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is well decked out and has a classy feel to it. The service was outstanding and food really tasty. I had the game and venison terrine with a chutney for starter and my boyfriend had the calamari. Both were good however the best was yet to come. We both opted for the pork belly with dauphinoise potatoes, braised red cabbage and a cider jus. It was absoloutely delicious, the pork melted in your mouth, the potatoes creamy and cheesy and the braised cabbage just right. I couldn't believe how good it was and neither could my boyfriend. I would go as far to say it was one of the best pork dishes I have had in a restaurant, and I eat out A LOT! For dessert my boyfriend had the espresso and chocolate ice cream combo and I had the lemon tart. The tart was light and flavoursome and my boyfriend really liked the concept of pouring a shot of espresso over the chocolate ice cream. My only complaint would be the drink - the champagne cocktail was disgusting and the red wine overpriced for its quality. I would definitely recommend if staying in the hotel/in the area though!

My husband and I have passed the Hilton Watford building hundreds of times, and from the outside it is not very attractive. We were invited to dinner with friends who were staying at the hotel, and were interested to try the restaurant. The room is really quite nice, so well done to the Hilton for making the inside of this hotel a heck of a lot nicer than the outside would suggest. The initial service from the restaurant manager, and the menu itself suggested good things. I found it difficult to decide, so many nice things on the menu. This is where the good bit ends. We waited a very long time after ordering for our food, - all four starters and mains came together which was good, but it was apparent that this coming together meant some food was not hot. (my asparagus and goats cheese tart was good, but my companions all had prawn starters, prawns hot, sauce cold). Our mains were only just ok. My lamb was a bit over cooked just warm and rather boring, and my husband's sea bass was tiny, cold and had little taste. Difficult to complain when being invited by others. We found the service a bit weird, rather aggressive and certainly charmless. A great shame as the selection of food on the menu looked really attractive, and with a bit better planning getting things from kitchen to table - the food could have been at least not bad. Missed opportunity, better understanding between kitchen and service would help

Nice and relaxing atmosphere and a decent place to eat whilst staying at the Hilton Watford hotel. Modern French cuisine and à la carte dining. I had French Onion Soup and Sea Bass – really good. Staff are friendly and attentive. The bar area is also spacious and food there is of a high standard.

Been to the Atelier after discovering it a while ago , and it was exceptional. Good quality food, good service and staff very interactive with the guest. not just a food service, they listen to what visitors want and really go out of their way to make it an experience. I was impress and see you soon.

My visit , although started out as a coffee, ended in Lunch in this tucked away rest , great food and Al La Carte menu - great for business and family get togethers

The food in the restaurant is acceptable but not always something to write home about. The set menu for a price offers value in a hotel setting but not always choice. The a la carte is rather expensive and does not represent value in my opinion. Service good generally.

We stay at The Hilton Watford a lot, hence we have eaten here quite often.We have always had a nice meal in nice surroundings, there is either a set menu, with a few choices on all courses, and a very nice A La Carte Menu, which changes with the seasons.The service has always been good, only small niggle is the cost of drinks, but you are in a hotel.We will be eating there again over the festive season, as we are staying there.
