Astoria Restaurant in Aberdeen City

!!!!! Advertencia comida horrible! Yo estaba violentamente enfermo después de comer asados! Las patatas se quemó la comida dura carne greasie obviamente ha sido tumbada! Protesté director era GROSERO maleducado! Definitivamente no recomendaría a cualquiera!! El personal era fantástico!!

Meal was lovely staff pleasant defo go back realy enjoyed x X meals are fulling I have stuffed myself well wort the money:-):-):-):-):-):-);-);-) ............had few drink s too this was a voucher from friend for Xmas thank you sarah xxx

A party of around 35 had a dinner here for our local club at which the national president and wife from Paisley were guests. The restaurant was an absolute embarrassment. The first two courses were obviously designed for people with little or no appetite. All the courses were served on cold plates/dishes. The soup was barely warm, the pate could not have looked less home made and my prawn cocktail was almost devoid of prawns that were tasteless & accompanied by a half slice of buttered white supermarket bread. The main courses were not only served on cold plates but also in my case a wet ones. All the courses were again barely warm and the tasteless mornay sauce that accompanied my haddock & prawns was very diluted by the plate being so wet. The desserts were reasonable but again only warm as a result of cold dishes. The coffee I had was very good but as it was served from "thermos" type containers I was disappointed that I was not offered a top up or refill. The 2 waiters whilst very pleasant had clearly never been trained in or given any knowledge of basic hygiene with all the cold plates and bowls being brought to the tables with fingers/thumbs on or inside the eating surfaces.This is probably the most concerning aspect of eating in this restaurant and this is only what we saw - heaven only knows what happens out of public view ! Overall I will look back on the evening as a success but simply due to the company I was with rather than the meal that I should have enjoyed. The meal was £24.00 but I would have valued it at less than half that. The Hotel is a beautiful art-deco building for any architectural connoisseur but the catering side of the business is simply dreadful.
