What a hidden Korean gem in soho, food was amazing and the topokki cheese is something you got to try. Great flavours and the kimchi is fresh. I will be back

Amazing Korean flavours and a huge choice of dishes. Friendly and efficient service. I would advise early dinner (we came about 6:30) and were seated within 5 minutes. After that it got really busy and I could see a queue developing outside. And for good reason as it’s a really great, reasonably priced place in the heart of SOHO. Lots of Koreans eat there which is a good sign of authenticity. The queue is fast moving and worth the wait. I will be back to try other things on the menu - only so much we could eat at one sitting and I am curious to try other stuff. A great, informal experience - don’t expect frills and fancy decor, it’s all about food! Thank you ASSA 😃

Such a great place for Korean Hot Pot, a must try experience with some friends. Very generous with the topping portions and soup refills are free too. Plenty of other items on the menu too, including pancakes, Bibimbap and fried chicken too. Super friendly service.

Love this place. You might have to wait to be seated as it is really popular but well worth the wait. The staff is really friendly and the food is delicious. If you do order too much, which is easy to do, the staff will provide boxes for you to take home if you want. Well, worth a visit.

The food alwayssss slaps 10/10 but I have to highlight the customer service i received from a nice waitress called Byeoel. So sweet and kind!! She Should get a raise

My favourite Korean restaurant in London, I love this place! The staff are always friendly and helpful, the prices are reasonable and the food is always freshly cooked and delicious! Do yourself a favour and experiment with the side dishes. LOUD K-pop is always blaring and most of the customers are regulars, always a good sign. The only down points are that wheelchair users don't have ramp access & the toilets are downstairs with no accessibility options. Oh and they no longer provide free Korean tea 😭

Totally awesome! I read reviews and had a doubts but wanted try anyway. And it was really super nice! Quickly seated , quickly served with attention and smile and charm. All two waitresses and one waiter were quick and amazingly sweet. I am really surprised why people complained about service!!!😡 Food was delicious, not too spicy, nicely seasoned and truly Korean !!! I have not tried hot pot which restaurant is famous for but will be definitely back for this and more as menu is large. Delicious bibimbap , many different toppoki , side dishes, crispy chicken and yummy pajeon . So many makkholi flavours! We tried original and mango and they were really good. I’ve been here a couple times and thought it was alright but after going today it will be my go to spot from now on. I recommend the Gwim mari and the ggan pung gi fried chicken, Gwim mari( SO GOOD) and the cheese kimchi pancake. I personally thought the bimimbap was a bit plain. The service was really quick and nice

I was craving for Kimchi Jjigae and arrived here for lunch but it ended up being a very blah dish. The soup was way too salty, to the point that it's just the taste of salt, not like it's flavoursome or savoury. The soup was meant to come with tofu and pork, but there is so little pork I could only find a small piece of it. I've been here before for Korean hotpot and Pajeon; both were really good. I would come back for those two dishes only. I guess it's a hit and miss.

Came here for the first time last night with friends who are big fans of this place. We ordered many sides and starters, which were all pretty delicious. The Bulgogi was underwhelming, however, so I was glad we just had 1 to share. I'd definitely recommend ordering many little things than a main. We sat downstairs, and we asked to change the table because of the blasting AC. Ppl sat there with their coats on, so it is not particularly cosy. There is not really "service", you sit down, you order, you get your food, and then you pay. I'd recommend to book via the phone and ask to be sat away from the AC, ideally upstairs. Don't expect a particularly nice atmosphere but come for the food We had the kimchi pancake, sweet and spicy prawns (to die for) soy chilly boneless chicken, and some other things which were all great!

I’ve been trying all the hot pot places in London, and have also tried my fair share of Korean restaurants but this one easily takes the cake. The food was immensely flavourful with generous portions. I highly recommend the bulgogi kimchi hot pot (with ramyeon and sweet pumpkin rice cakes added), as well as the yukhoe bibimbap. Save this as your next spot in London!!

You have to queue to get in but it’s so worth it! Service is speedy and the food is incredibly delicious which such a great variety of Korean food to choose from at a reasonable price

Staff are so friendly and helpful. They are very respectful to all their customers as well. This has to be the best halal Korean restaurant in London. I've tried the spicy chicken bulgogi dub bap and the spicy chicken udon noodles. Could be spicier but still absolutely beautiful. The service, the prices and the quality of the food is what keeps bringing me back!

Food is amazing and the vibe is just as if you’ve traveled to Asia.

The 냉면 was terrible, tasted like water, and the ice was the cubed ice cubes you’d typically get in water. Would not recommend at all.

Do not go here! Staff are so rude especially the manager of this place. We were given the wrong drink by mistake and she said she could not change it and expected us to pay extra! The manager had no sense of customer service and was rude from the very first instance.

Oh my goodness, I don't know where to even begin. Hot pot was amazing, you definitely need to order! The peach coke was also an amazing accompaniment - the lady would give up the recipe haha! Service was lovely, we were approached several times as the lady refilled the broth of our hot pot (free of charge) I added bean curd to the hot pot and it was lovely. We dried the beansprouts and spinach side dishes, very nice. Kimchi was gorgeous and I think we also had some sweet potato dumplings? I don't even know but it was all so good we can't stop telling people about it! I'm travelling from suffokk just to bring my sister here later this year, I know she'll love it as a treat. It's also really good price wise, huge portions too!

Very hyped place, extremely noisy! Food order takes ages, it took 45min for our food to arrive. Food quality is not good! Beef tasted like rubber! Staff is friendly!

After ordering, the food takes a long time, and the order is mixed up, and it's called rolled omelet with cheese. Is there cheese in it? I know the rice is undercooked, so it's hard like a stone, but the response is really not good, it's the restaurant that I just came out with regret even though I was looking forward to it.

However their food and hygiene grading is zero [in 2022] now 3 [2023]. Which is a shame…🥲. Until they can get that score back to 4-5 i will recommend to avoid for safety issues. Please reach the hygiene rating at 4! you guys are almost there! (Will delete/update review once the new food hygiene grading is confirmed)

中国学生避雷餐厅，完全不值得集体来这里或者为了来而来。 显而易见的歧视，里面一个服务员的眼神，总是在翻白眼。我日了狗的不知道在翻个毛。下雨走累了路过想着吃点亚洲热乎食物就来了。千万避雷，完全没必要来。接头吃fish chips也好。 食物还行能吃。给一星算是过分了，给2星算中肯了。就那么回事。汤就感觉是速食冲的，不是正经烹饪出来的味道。 服务只能算可以，起码给了菜单，拿了水，完成了基本任务。 氛围，就是个食堂。 厕所还算干净。

This Korean restaurant is a goldmine! There is often a Queue, to avoid it go around 6-8pm. The menu has a lot of variety and with prices ranging from £10.5 (soups) to £22. I had the spicy chicken and rice and it was phenomenal and very reasonably priced for London and both quantity and quality. I recommend booking in advance if you are going in a group larger than 4 as it’s often busy and can be cramped (space wise)

여기 밑반찬 김치나 이런거 8천원 받아요. 돌솥은 달궈지지 않고 그냥 나와요. 한국 돌솥 생각하면 안됨. 부대찌개 가격은 5만4000원 퀄리티는 한국 놀부부대찌개 70% 수준 가격은 3배, 밑반찬이 안나옵니다. 1만5천원 당면 떡볶이는 떡이 9개 들어가 있어요. 참고 하시라 적습니다. 음식 맛은 맛이 없는 편입니다. 한국인보다 외국인이 더 많은 한식당입니다. 런던 뒷골목에 있고 어쩔 수 없이 작년에 이어 올해도 왔는데 앞으로는 안 올 생각입니다. 가성비 너무 떨어지는 맛없는 식당입니다.

Food was great and also very cheap

This is the first time I’ve ever written a review for a restaurant but I was really disappointed. I came here several times but this time was the worst and will never comeback again. Food : 3/5 stir fried noodles is too sweet , stir fried squid and sauce of toppoki is too salty , other dishes is better but not as good as before Atmosphere: music is too loud , made me feel headache Service:First: we asked for chopsticks 3 times but there was no chopsticks from start to the end when they said because the restaurant had no cutlery at the moment .But the another table came after us they had cutlery. Second: there was no checking if we need anything, we had to come to the till and asked for it Finally I have nothing to say with the bills as you can see by the photo. How come you can think we should know Korean and understand it ?

Worst customer service that I’ve ever experienced, from the minute I walked in until the very last moment. Long story short, if I could give this restaurant a 0 star I would definitely have done it already and it’s what you deserve

One of the best k restaurants in London, my wife loves it. And if she does then I have to like it too. Their Korean pancakes are delicious. Didn’t take lot of pix but their hot pot is good, price range is fair, only thing is the que I hate it. their fried chicken didn’t come with sauce nor gloves, wouldn’t have ordered if known before.

The hot pot experience was quite good with the ingredients being delicious. 😋

They have some of the nicest staff I have ever come across in any restaurant, they are genuine and humble people. In addition to this, the food is absolutely delicious and the service is swift despite it being busy at times. I would 100% recommend this experience 🌸.

Rude and dishonest waitresses. When we ordered the bulgogi hotpot and asked if it came with any rice or noodles, the waitress told us that every hotpot will be provided with half a portion of ramen. However, when our bulgogi hotpot arrived, we were informed that only our specific hotpot dish does not come with any noodles. At the end during payment, one of the other waitresses handed us the bill and told us that service charge is 10%. However, to our discovery after payment, the service charge was 12.5%. The entire time they had a shameful attitude.

I love this place. Amazing food, so fresh and loads of variety. Just as much selection for Veggie as everyone else. The service is always so great and friendly. The acoustics aren't great so can feel a little noisy so not a place for a intimate meal. Be prepared to queue for a table whenever you go, it's really popular but worth a little wait.

Best Korean food that i have tired in London. The place was packed and we did not have reservation but they still managed to get us a table. The chicken gizzards with garlic is a must try!!!

Liked everything, especially the cheese and cream toppoki

Took a friend who has never tried Korean food before and she was blown away! We ordered kimchi fried rice, beef bulgogi, vegetable and sweet potato noodle Korean pancake, sweet and spicy chicken wings, and spicy chicken udon noodles. All of which were delicious and come highly recommended. Especially the chicken wings, the sauce was incredible with the crispiness still in tact. Great place to start for anyone wanting to try authentic Korean food. We will be returning!

The bibimbap was 8.5/10 for me, and jajang myeon was 10/10. We got 2 banchan (side dishes) for free and they were delicious One of the waitresses was not very friendly, but the other that took care of the payment was very nice! Overall, it's very much worth the money! Inexpensive but good food~

I really have to leave a review of this awful restaurant, for a start we didn’t actually end up eating there, because the staff ignored us, whether it was because we weren’t Asian or a gay couple we didn’t know, but it was a horrible and rude experience. The staff even sat two Koreans next to us and served them food without even asking us if we wanted a drink. We were waiting for about 15 minutes until we decided they were deliberately trying to make us leave. One of the waitresses was so rude when we arrived she shouted at me to leave the restaurant and wait by the door. I wouldn’t recommend coming here and after reading other reviews that the food isn’t that good I’m actually glad not to have experienced anything further.

Absolutely appalling, the waitress was so rude when we arrived, then we were given menus and then all the staff ignored us until we left, they even sat two Korean men next to us and served them food and drinks whilst not even bothering to ask us. So rude and felt a bit racist to be honest because we weren’t Asian.

Great food, great experience, although the restaurant was getting busy towards 6:30pm. So best to go early otherwise expect a long wait.

The most delicious Korean restaurant! Been here three times! And we will definitely be there again and again! The service is fast and friendly. Do not be afraid of queuing with people, 10-20 minutes of waiting is worth it! The prices are average and very pleasant. We had pancakes, chicken noodles and udon, and Korean barbecue and Hot Pot. My favorite is the noodle, but all their food is incredibly delicious. The atmosphere of the establishment is 3/5. I would like to feel like I'm not in a poor dining room, but in a restaurant. In general, everything is great, these guys will never disappoint you.

I was here a couple of times before COVID, but first time since. Still the same feeling, very decent food with OK price, but nothing to make you go “WOWWW”. Service was fast, can get a bit rushed when it’s busy.

Tried the Dakgangjeong chicken, I liked it! It was £11. I think it should have come with rice without having to pay another £2 for it. I liked the lychee Coke! The service was eh. They forgot to even make my food so had to get their attention and wait extra long for it. Had to get their attention to ask for the bill too. The place has air con so it could get a little bit cold sometimes. When I got there at around 4pm on Sunday, it wasn’t too busy and there wasn’t a wait. When I left the restaurant though, it was very busy and the queue was into the street.

They served great tea and properly fermented kimchi. No they serve water and cabbage swimming in mayonnaise

Assa is one of my favourite Korean restaurants in London and holds many fond memories for me. The spring onion pajeon (pancake) is the BEST I've tasted. I also recommend the buddae jiggae (Korean army stew) and the Korean fried chicken *Chef's kiss*. Must try!

Fantastic korean restaurant, especially if you want some halal options available in Central London, with the Bibimbap being a divine delight to always have. The fried chicken is succulent yet crispy, and even the teas give a refreshing vibe. Not to mention that if you go with a group of friends, you can get the hotpot and just share the deliciousness of the food all together.

I went there around 4.30pm and the place is almost full! But I didn’t have to wait and got the table right away. It’s my first time trying cass beer .. omg so refreshing.😘 The bibimbab is great. My friend ordered mussels soup which is alright. Not my favourite as seems to simple and light soup but it’s good to have tried something new. I will try the hotpot next visit 😀

Great value Korean for central London - the hotpot is good for two or maybe three . You might have to queue at peak times so dine early or avoid the weekends. The hotpot comes with a small amount of noodles so order extra or some rice to make a full meal. The sweet fried chicken is delicious !!

It used to be good but now it's just so so. We ordered raw beef and bulgogi hot pot. The raw beef was still frozen and tasteless. The soup of the hot pot was too salty so we had to add more water to it.

Me and a friend went there just after 12pm and had a starter, main dish and some rice and it only came up to just over £20. The food was so good as well as the staff were very kind and attentative! Definitely coming here again!! Great prices and variety as well as the food just being so good in general!

We waited approx 30 mins outside the restaurant, had retro bu dae ji gae with japchae, lovely foods , friendly waitress, not expecting any service as it’s in the middle of soho and we went Saturday evening, 4 stars overall, will return again!

Sooo good. We tried the hot pot, some spicy squid, seafood pancakes, and fried chicken, and everything was excellent and in quite big portions for the three of us (we all finished really full). Everything was excellent and tasty. Staff was very helpful too. Perhaps the volume of the music is a bit too loud (at least on the upper floor), but its nothing if the overall quality is 10/10. I definitely will recommend it.

런던 여행 중 오랫만에 한식 먹으러 갔던 곳입니다. 점심 시간에 갔는데 15분청도 웨이팅을 했습니다. 가격은 다른 음식점에 비해 저렴한 편이고 일행이 3가지 음식을 먹었는데 맛이 평타 이상입니다. 특히 오징어 돌솥비빔밥이 맛있었네요.

Had an amazing time, some of the best Korean food we've had and the staff were very friendly and efficient. There were lots of choices, including some vegetarian options. We enjoyed two bibimbap, kimchi pancakes and tteokbokki. Would definitely recommend and will be going again. We hadn't made a reservation and there was a slight queue but they got us seated quickly.

Food was great and came on time. Service was great at the start but the waitress at the end taking our bill was very rude and was snatching the bill off us, and didn't even give a receipt! That ended what was a great meal with a sour taste in our mouth!

This is the third time I have visited, and I never thought to leave a bad review but here we are. The food came out fairly quick, even though it was pretty busy in the restaurant. We ordered tteokbokki, bland and watery - no taste. Haemul pajeon was just awful. Bulgogi fried rice was way too salty, yangnyeom chicken wings was too saucy that overpowered the chicken too much, first time for me to stop eating between all of my friends, and that says something. The spicy pork bbq was pretty good though and the service was good. I don’t think I would visit again after this though.

La cuisine était vraiment bonne, j'ai beaucoup apprécié les saveurs que je n'ai pas rencontré en France... j'y ai mangé avec mes deux filles, mais l'une d'elle a fait une réaction allergique... veillez à bien vous renseigner sur les ingrédients! L'attente n'était pas trop longue, mais beaucoup trop de monde pour partager une conversation en toute intimité. Bémol, les gens qui font la quête vous regarde manger... un peu gênant 😅

This is my favourite Korean restaurant in London, great food and great prices!!! The staff are very attentive and efficient! I’m vegetarian so I didn’t have a hard time with the menu but if you’re vegan I would probably do some research before hand. Great atmosphere too, I went on a Friday night the last time I went and there was a 10 minute wait in the queue which I didn’t mind, it just means it’s popular!

Amazing hot pot, worth the short wait!

I’ve been craving Korean food for a week and I finally had the best food I could ever have asked for here. Wonderful homecooking style, very nostalgic. Everything was delicious. The hotpot is great for sharing and spending time with friends/family. The decor is modest, simple and casual. Fast and attentive staff. It’s a bit noisy, but when you’re concentrated on eating food this good it doesn’t matter. I would come here everyday. Highlight of my week.

A number one contender for the best Korean in London. I was taken back by the flavour profile of the dishes served here. We ordered the bulgogi and egg fried rice, kimchi jeon, and the seafood tteokbokki. All of which I can recommend. The amount of food was perfect and the pricing is incredible value. In addition to the above we ordered 4 drinks and the bill was around £66 total which is exceptional for the location:flavour:volume of food ratio. In addition to this the staff were all very friendly and seemed eager to help. Will certainly be visiting again, be warned you will most likely be standing in a queue to enter. We visited on a Wednesday evening and the queue was approximately 15 minutes, well worth the wait however

Have had so many meals here. Amazing food and good service, would highly recommend this place to anyone in the area. Only complaints are my legs don't fit properly under the two people tables and that the bill at the end is random scribbles and numbers.

Probably our fav korean resto in London! Been here countless of times with family. My children is not fond of spicy food but they also have something for kids like the chicken with tartar sauce, which is their fav. The big noodles hotpot is the best! very filling and meant for sharing. The broth is very flavorful as well. What I also appreciate is the fast service. Kudos to the staff who really acts quickly and efficiently as they know they have a lot of customers to spend. (They should get a raise in their paycheck LOL). There is a line esp during peak hours but it's worth the wait! Try it next time.
