Comfortable lounge, staff are great friendly and welcoming. Food isn't great just all very basic. Watched one lady spend 10mins just trying to get a pancake from a machine. Wasn't worth it her words.

The best thing about this lounge is the staff. The member of staff at the front desk was very friendly and welcoming, not just with me but with all customers who were entering the lounge. Food selection was just okay; I was there at breakfast time and they had 3 different cereals, bread rolls, pancakes, sausages, bacon, eggs, beans, hash browns and the usual tea, coffee etc. I paid £20 for this lounge with Revolut. I think it’s normally £40ish pounds if you book direct. To be honest I wouldn’t say it’s worth £40 but defiantly good value for £20.

Terrible experience, paid about £95 for 3 of us. The south lounge wasn’t even open when we arrived. We had no notifications about this. The poor staff in the other apire lounge were exhausted trying to accommodate all the extra people. We had to sit on stalls in the end. The food wasn’t anything special, cheap dishes and not much left because of the amount of people. Staff were friendly and doing their best but clearly tired and fed up. Don’t book, it’s not worth the money , not a great start to an holiday and we will never book again.

As a treat for my wife's first time flying and going abroad, I thought I would treat ourselves to a lounge at Birmingham Airport so we could relax in private luxury and await our flight out to Crete. I was hoping for good food, service and a private experience where we could relax. However, I was totally wrong. I booked Aspire South as it was right next door to the Jet2 gate and thought it would make our trip so much easier. However, on arriving at the airport and passing Aspire Lounge heading to the South Lounge, we were met with a closed lounge and no signs as to why. We enquired at the Jet2 stand nearby to be told this was a regular occurrence and to head to the other lounge that we had already passed. Why couldn't Aspire have put signs up to say South was closed? Easy, but they didn't, so we had to walk back to the other Aspire. Once there the chap in the reception checked us in saying there had been a "technical" problem at South. He showed us to a seat near the bar. The lounge was not very big and because the South was closed it was very busy. I went to the bar (naively thinking all drinks were free as that is what you are told) only to be told that premium drinks such as Captain Morgans Rum are charged - there are no signs telling you this at the bar so that was a bit embarrassing. I told the lady serving that I had already paid £80 so was not going to pay extra. She was not impressed. We chose the "free" drinks and went to get some food. It was just a few buffet items that were to be honest, no better than a back street cafe. Numerous times staff were asked to refill the items and the bread rolls. The Staff seemed lazy and not bothered about giving people the experience they had paid for. In conclusion a total waste of time and money. Will never pay for the Aspire lounge again. You will be better off going to the Wetherspoons. Rip off!

Don't waste your money..............! The 3 hours start from when you book your car in the car park not from when you arrive at the lounge. I booked the car in slightly earlier for any issues on route, by the time we completed check-in we arrived at the lounge with roughly an hour before our flight. My time had 5 minutes left from my car park check in so they refused our family entry. We spoke to the manager and explained it doesn't say this on the website booking and his response was to contact Aspire lounge which is impossible. Jet2 are not interested as this is a third party. Save your money and get something nice on the way.......! Thank you for your response below. The investigation with the lounge manager must now be complete, what was the outcome? A full refund would be greatly received or a valid explanation.

One of the oddest Airport lounges i've been in, (and I expect far better from Aspire / Swissport to be honest). Essentially a glorified corridor with some comfortable seating. Rather small food selection at dinner time compared to other Aspire sites. Nice enough staff. The oddest things is the lack of toilets in the lounge. What's going on with that? Aspire would be better closing this one early in the day (or preferably closing it permanently ) And keeping the South one open at Gate 1A later.

Really disappointed, not worth the money. We were there from 12 midday so breakfast had finished and they were supposedly serving lunch which consisted of a vegetarian curry or chilli and rice with somosas and onion bargies - not really the kind of food you want to eat before and 8 hour flight. So I opted for the tomato soup and wished I'd not bothered. It was bland so me and my two boys ended up eating bread rolls and butter. I did have a coffee and a soft drink and hubby had a beer. It was noisy and crowded so may as well have saved our money and gone to the pub in the main airport. Won't be using them again.

I have always booked a lounge usually escape lounges, I had to take a flight from Birmingham which I had never flown from before, so I booked a lounge. The aspire lounge is a massive disappointment and a total waste of money, unlike escape lounge that has all drinks and a good selection of food choices. The aspire lounge still asked you to pay for some drinks, after paying nearly £40 each I’m not sure how this can be justified. The food consisted of a choice of 2 pastries and for hot food when we arrived beans and bacon, my partner had to ask if there was any more food. The only thing good about this is it gets you out the hustle and bustle of the airport, of which to be honest id of rather just sat in my car in the car park for a bit longer. I travel a lot at least 6 times a year and will never use this lounge again, I’m also not a Karen who complains at everything, but I would hate for others to waste money and be disappointed like we have been.

We travel a lot and always start our holiday off with a hearty breakfast and a couple of hours relaxing at the Airport Lounge. Usually we use a company called Escape Lounge, however they don’t have one at Birmingham and we had to fly from there. Aspire charge the same high price, yet provide a fraction of the the food / drink and service. Please don’t waste your money at this shambles of a company. For an extra £3 you can book at a different lounge. The food - pancake machine broken. But toppings available! No toaster for the sliced bread. Only mini croissants & pain au chocs on the pastry section (both needed another 15min in the oven) Hot food was dried scrambled egg and nearly raw bacon. Had to wait 45min for some sausages to arrive, followed by beans. Then a further 25min for some hash browns. Drinks - No fruit juice, just watered down squash. Coffee machines were cheap & nasty. Alcohol is only free for select items, 2 wines, a beer and cheap spirits. You have to pay extra per drink for Prosecco, Cider, Branded Spirits. WiFi - is free, but doesn’t work. You need to find the ‘zone’ to stand where you get signal (you’ll know this by the group loitering there) A disgraceful waste of money and we shall be requesting a refund from the company. My kids wanted a decaf iced mocha which was absolutely no problem at all. One of son's said it was the best iced mocha he had ever had! Worth the money purely for fact that you can have somewhere comfortable to wait. The staff were better than anywhere else we have experienced.

The staff generally seem to be trying their best. However the food choice is limited and low quality and the general standard of behaviour in the lounge (of some other guests) is appalling. There could at least be some rules to ensure it is actually a relaxing lounge e.g. no screaming, shoes on tables, loud video games or "please keep your shoes and clothes on" (especially for the adults). Normal manners would do the trick. Overall it is disappointing.

Poor service. I’d made a booking, checked in and got settled at a table. After half an hour I was told off and instructed that I to move to sit on a stool because another booking had arrived. Is that how it works when you pay for a lounge? TBF they came back and found a different table for me later.. but the whole thing was less than ideal.. Other lounges are available and will be used in future…

Going through B’ham airport on one of the busiest days of the year. The departures lounge was crazily busy, not one seat to be found, families sitting on floors. Found Aspire and what a delight! Air con, confortable chairs, food, drink and a relaxed atmosphere. Fantastic friendly very pleasant staff on desk and behind tlothe bar. Will definitely revisit. Thank you to the staff, particularly the pleasant and conscientious girl behind the bar who had to deal with a lot! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

The food selection was very limited. The hot food on offer (curry or chilli) was barely warm, not hot. The soup carrot and coriander I'm told tasty but just warm and had not been replenished. The bar tender had to keep leaving her post to deal with other matters therefore customers were left waiting. The staff were all very pleasant.

Aspire lounges are great and I have always enjoyed them while at the airport. However, Birmingham Aspire lounge is my personal favourite. The service from the staff, especially Shahid and Manny, is exceptional and I will always use this lounge over the others available in Birmingham!

Not particularly comfy (unless you're business class, but commoners need not apply at any cost to the lounge to access those empty seats), nice enough food (albeit incredibly little choice) and a fantastic barman who was not just great to chat to but observed him regularly coming away from the bar when not busy to assist anyone who looked stuck around the crappy pancake maker or other queries. Mixed bag on the check in desk. First time used them was great, but they were really confused.by the prospect of me purchasing lounge access via an affiliated third party (purple parking) and initially denied me entry because they couldn't comprehend dates. I bought a hotel, parking and lounge bundle, so I obviously used the hotel the night before and the email was dated as such. They just couldn't grasp that I hadn't 'missed' the lounge entry date, but simply accessed it the day after the hotel was used. We got there in the end, but was needless frustration and puts into doubt whether I would want to risk the same imbecilic conversation again. There's a fancier looking lounge right by the departure gates which I'll be checking out next time.

Very rude to possible patrons who haven't prebooked. Turned away as walk-ins from a half empty lounge. Very tetchy and dismissive response when asked why this policy on 'no walk ins' is not clear on website. We are AMEX platinum members with Priority Pass and already pay enough. Makes one question whether it's even worth having. Avoid.

Certainly doesn't Aspire to be the best lounge!! Well, I'm not sure if I would use this particular lounge ever again for a few reasons! Firstly, it seemed difficult to actually get in this lounge because it 'was' going to be busy and they weren't accepting cards - in reality it wasn't busy, nor did it get busy in all the time I was in there. Secondly, 'oh, sit there, where I know where you are, and I can ask you to leave if it get busy, thirdly, it seemed like we were an inconvenience by actually wanting to give them money by actually wanting to enter the lounge (booked via Revolut card, so discounted and probably the reason they didn't want to grant access), finally, not a huge choice of food and snacks were available. I should add that the staff were very abrupt and also spent time chatting amongst themselves! Not impressed!

Absolutely pathetic! The server couldn't make any cocktails on the menu...he asked me how he should be making it.Thought he was having a laugh! Most of the normal drinks including prosecco you have to pay for! The snack/food selection was horrendous! 90% veg...to save costs! Dried tiny samosa and bhajis, dried out rice because its all sitting under a heat lamp. Sad chickpea curry. The salad bar was pathetic with dried ham, pasta was okay ...jeez. there wee no refills on the dishes that the menu showed like the pasta ..never got to try the quinoa ..on the menu but not available to eat. Will never come here again! I was lucky I got in for free ..if I had to pay for this, I would have had a right hissy fit!

You won't get what you order. Foods always missing stuff, I got a double cheeseburger where they forgot everything but the bun and burger and that's usually how it goes every time I go, something is missing.

I came yesterday with my friends for afternoon tea, it was by far the worst afternoon tea experience we’ve ever had!! I was so shocked that this awful experience came from such reputable hotel! Very unexpected! I was so looking forward for a traditional afternoon tea and I choose the hotel based on reputation and location and invited my friends to come along, I’ve initially booked for 7 and two cancelled on the day for emergency reasons, the afternoon tea was then served, it didn’t look appetising or inviting, tea cups arrived with no saucers underneath, no cups for water for water bottles!! The food was served on one of these wooden blocks which was unexpected and unappealing for the traditional afternoon tea style we were expecting, those blocks were ugly and made it hard to access the items desolated inside and made it hard to communicate with ont another as there in ur face kind of thing!! The whole desolate looked like anything but a traditional afternoon tea style! Coming to the food itself We had soggy couple of sandwiche sliced each, unappealing purple dyed salmon setting on densed pastry (why would u dye the beautiful salmon colour in that unappealing appetising way, it was awfull, we also had arancini balls with meat in the middle despite me telling them we dont want anything containing meat or pork or alcohol when I booked, they apologised and replaced it later with vege version, Scones where ice cold, not fresh and it looked and tasted like what you get in these prepackaged scones from supermarkets,, we also had runny icecrem with few diced pieces of strawberries swimming in the middle, At this point we were off and didn’t want to complete the couple of items left in the sweet section because they also looked like something u just opened from packaging and placed on a plate in a rush!! When we’re ready to pay I was told I need to pay for seven although five came and I asked for afternoon for five on arrival as two cancelled due to emergency happened at the time, no one mentioned this when I booked and it didnt sound right that I have to pay for two extra when they didn’t turn up, The restaurant manager came and told me that he had to prepare for seven and I have to pay for seven because of this, at this point I flipped and wasn’t sure what exactly was pre prepared as everything there looked like ready made supermarket quality food not a top hotel restaurant quality food, and he can see they that there was food left over which shows that wr didn’t enjoy what wr had!! He the. Said I don’t know what’s ur explanation from an afternoon trea, I then Stopped him and said I’ve been to so many in my life most in hotels and I never received this below average experince, food in other place looked artisan, made for you, prepared, inviting, appetising, opposite to what we had! He then apologised and ask me to pay for the five wr had! I’ll never come back again nor my friends will, worst food and very unprofessional restaurant manager, he’s got zero customer service and satisfaction experince!! What a shame…

Long wait for service. Delivery drivers are making the wait even longer. Too many orders for delivery taking priority .Cold food , 50/50 if your order is right. Rare to have milkshakes as they turn machine off when busy. Unpleasant experience.limp cold food served.
