Total Shambles. Booked in costing £59. Got there at 6am to be told "its the other one at gate 1". we walked to gate 1 to see that Aspire was Closed. walked all the way back to the first Aspire to be told the other Aspire at gate 1 doesnt open until 6:30. Our flight was at 7am. having to walk back to gate one. There was loads of empty seats in the Aspire we forst went in but refused to help as They said it was "holiday extras fault" and need to claim a refund. Techniclly a zero as couldnt use the service we had paid for. Aspire...about as useless as the airport is based in.

Consistently awful experience of this lounge. Staff have faces like smacked arses like they can’t believe you would ask them a question, cold food and charged extra for drinks? To top it off, to be told “I need a booking”?! Educate yourselves, you don’t need a booking - you enter directly via your card access. Avoid at all costs.

Don't waste your money..............! The 3 hours start from when you book your car in the car park not from when you arrive at the lounge. I booked the car in slightly earlier for any issues on route, by the time we completed check-in we arrived at the lounge with roughly an hour before our flight. My time had 5 minutes left from my car park check in so they refused our family entry. We spoke to the manager and explained it doesn't say this on the website booking and his response was to contact Aspire lounge which is impossible. Jet2 are not interested as its a third party. Save your money and get something nice on the way.......!

One of the oddest Airport lounges i've been in, (and I expect far better from Aspire / Swissport to be honest). Essentially a glorified corridor with some comfortable seating. Rather small food selection at dinner time compared to other Aspire sites. Nice enough staff. The oddest things is the lack of toilets in the lounge. What's going on with that? Aspire would be better closing this one early in the day (or preferably closing it permanently ) And keeping the South one open at Gate 1A later.

Nice lounge to beat the hussle and bussell of the main airport. Cool from air conditioning and very clean. Great choice of drinks and plentiful. Disappointed with food choice only two choice of hot food curry and pasta ok for adults but not for children would not book this lounge again with children . Had to come out early to pay for meals for children which was a pain as we had paid for lounge to save on spending at the airport. Was gutted with overall experience as flight delayed and time could not be changed to accomadete our late flight out. Tried on app and at desk. Would try another lounge next time. Do t book if you have children not great for family.

Really disappointed, not worth the money. We were there from 12 midday so breakfast had finished and they were supposedly serving lunch which consisted of a vegetarian curry or chilli and rice with somosas and onion bargies - not really the kind of food you want to eat before and 8 hour flight. So I opted for the tomato soup and wished I'd not bothered. It was bland so me and my two boys ended up eating bread rolls and butter. I did have a coffee and a soft drink and hubby had a beer. It was noisy and crowded so may as well have saved our money and gone to the pub in the main airport. Won't be using them again.

A welcome oasis of peace in what can be a jam packed noisy departure lounge. Not sure it's really good value for the food - the breakfast which I enjoyed : bacon, scrambled eggs sausages, & baked beans. Bread to toast, croissants etc. Various fruit juices and fizzy drinks. Breakfast cereals and yoghurt, coffee etc. Serve yourself. But for the peace and quiet its worth it. Pleasant friendly staff. Note you have to book in advance via their website. This was our first ever visit to a lounge and based on this it will be our last! The food was awful, nothing for gluten free or for kids, no real selection. It looked like it had come out of a packet or a deep freeze and was microwaved. The drink selection was poor as well, nothing on draught. The only positive was that we had our own table where we could charge phones if required. I cant warrant paying £80 for 2 people and for what we got we would rather have gone to Wetherspoons! The service was just about ok, but a smile from the team now and again would have been nice! You need to up your game as this could have been a great experience.

Read all the horrible reviews after booking and immediately regretted it, dreading a terrible experience - but no, here we are, sat watching the planes, and enjoying the lovely atmosphere. The staff are very polite, the food is fresh and lovely - there is a choice of fresh salads, soup, pasta and veggie curry (which my husband says is very tasty, although not massively warm). Yes the decor is dated but it’s clean, the staff are diligent in clearing up and replenishing things. The only downside is the pancake maker isn’t working but there is plenty for my child to eat, including fresh fruit. All in all I am glad we booked and would use it again. I have always booked a lounge usually escape lounges, I had to take a flight from Birmingham which I had never flown from before, so I booked a lounge. The aspire lounge is a massive disappointment and a total waste of money, unlike escape lounge that has all drinks and a good selection of food choices. The aspire lounge still asked you to pay for some drinks, after paying nearly £40 each I’m not sure how this can be justified. The food consisted of a choice of 2 pastries and for hot food when we arrived beans and bacon, my partner had to ask if there was any more food. The only thing good about this is it gets you out the hustle and bustle of the airport, of which to be honest id of rather just sat in my car in the car park for a bit longer. I travel a lot at least 6 times a year and will never use this lounge again, I’m also not a Karen who complains at everything, but I would hate for others to waste money and be disappointed like we have been.

We travel a lot and always start our holiday off with a hearty breakfast and a couple of hours relaxing at the Airport Lounge. Usually we use a company called Escape Lounge, however they don’t have one at Birmingham and we had to fly from there. Aspire charge the same high price, yet provide a fraction of the the food / drink and service. Please don’t waste your money at this shambles of a company. For an extra £3 you can book at a different lounge. The food - pancake machine broken. But toppings available! No toaster for the sliced bread. Only mini croissants & pain au chocs on the pastry section (both needed another 15min in the oven) Hot food was dried scrambled egg and nearly raw bacon. Had to wait 45min for some sausages to arrive, followed by beans. Then a further 25min for some hash browns. Drinks - No fruit juice, just watered down squash. Coffee machines were cheap & nasty. Alcohol is only free for select items, 2 wines, a beer and cheap spirits. You have to pay extra per drink for Prosecco, Cider, Branded Spirits. WiFi - is free, but doesn’t work. You need to find the ‘zone’ to stand where you get signal (you’ll know this by the group loitering there) A disgraceful waste of money and we shall be requesting a refund from the company. Please, please PLEASE don’t waste your time or money here. The food is better at Maccies round the corner.

The staff generally seem to be trying their best. However the food choice is limited and low quality and the general standard of behaviour in the lounge (of some other guests) is appalling. There could at least be some rules to ensure it is actually a relaxing lounge e.g. no screaming, shoes on tables, loud video games or "please keep your shoes and clothes on" (especially for the adults). Normal manners would do the trick. Overall it is disappointing.

Not particularly comfy (unless you're business class, but commoners need not apply at any cost to the lounge to access those empty seats), nice enough food (albeit incredibly little choice) and a fantastic barman who was not just great to chat to but observed him regularly coming away from the bar when not busy to assist anyone who looked stuck around the crappy pancake maker or other queries. Mixed bag on the check in desk. First time used them was great, but they were really confused.by the prospect of me purchasing lounge access via an affiliated third party (purple parking) and initially denied me entry because they couldn't comprehend dates. I bought a hotel, parking and lounge bundle, so I obviously used the hotel the night before and the email was dated as such. They just couldn't grasp that I hadn't 'missed' the lounge entry date, but simply accessed it the day after the hotel was used. We got there in the end, but was needless frustration and puts into doubt whether I would want to risk the same imbecilic conversation again. There's a fancier looking lounge right by the departure gates which I'll be checking out next time.

Certainly doesn't Aspire to be the best lounge!! Well, I'm not sure if I would use this particular lounge ever again for a few reasons! Firstly, it seemed difficult to actually get in this lounge because it 'was' going to be busy and they weren't accepting cards - in reality it wasn't busy, nor did it get busy in all the time I was in there. Secondly, 'oh, sit there, where I know where you are, and I can ask you to leave if it get busy, thirdly, it seemed like we were an inconvenience by actually wanting to give them money by actually wanting to enter the lounge (booked via Revolut card, so discounted and probably the reason they didn't want to grant access), finally, not a huge choice of food and snacks were available. I should add that the staff were very abrupt and also spent time chatting amongst themselves! Not impressed!

We recently had the pleasure of attempting to visit the Aspire Lounge at Birmingham Airport. Picture this: a family of three, dragging a suitcase, a carry-on, and a very excited 4-year-old daughter who was dreaming of endless snacks and unlimited juice. Armed with our Priority Pass, we approached with confidence. Alas, our dreams were promptly shattered at the entrance. As we approached, we were greeted by a sign that might as well have said, "Abandon All Hope, Ye Who Enter Here Without a Reservation." The lounge was fully booked, and walk-ins, even with a Priority Pass, were a no-go. We tried our best to charm our way in, but even our daughter's cutest puppy-dog eyes couldn't sway the gatekeepers. The highlight of our experience was the lady at the desk, who seemed to derive great pleasure in turning us away. Her smile was as unwavering as her resolve to deny us entry. We could almost hear the sound of her mental high-five as she politely but firmly told us, "No booking, no entry." It turns out, you need to plan ahead to experience the elusive luxury behind those glass doors. So, if you have visions of relaxing in a comfy chair while your child enjoys the treats, remember to book in advance. Otherwise, you'll be left with a sad snack from a vending machine and a little one asking why the nice people won't let her in. Aspire Lounge, we salute your exclusivity and your gatekeeper's enthusiasm. Next time, we'll come prepared. Until then, we'll keep aspiring! In response to the owners comments 1 - why not keep some availability to the humble ‘walk in’s’ 2 - I’m not prepared to pay an extra £15 to reserve.

Save your money, it’s rubbish. Food is not great, the drinks unpleasant. Staff were welcoming. No toilets so has to use main ones in terminal.

I had a wonderful relaxing time before my flight. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the food was fresh and very tasty. Great value.

We paid £84.97 for the two of us in this lounge. What can I say, it was a complete waste of money. No beer available as they hadn't had a delivery! We were offered a "complimentary" drink of cider or brown ale, which neither of us drink. Further drinks were to be paid for. The only drinks available to us free were wine. These were the cheapest of the cheap wine!! Both red and white tasted like vinegar. The food...!! Well appalling, no hash browns, sausages were inedible, bacon wasn't cooked properly. Absolute waste of money. We could have gone into the pub in the airport and got a breakfast each for £14.99 !! We would never ever book this lounge again. Definitely the worst one we have ever been in!!

Booked this to ensure a comfy seat and stress free experience while waiting for gate to open. Quite disappointed when i got there. They had no Coke, it had ran out they said (“oh its Sunday, we had no delivery”). Thats not good enough ! No juices available either so my grandson could not have a drink as no juice. Then i asked for a dark rum they said there is a £2 extra charge for that, even though i had paid £120 for 4 people to vo in the lounge !. Really disappointed with the amount of money i paid for them to then shut early ! Wish i hadnt bothered and gone to weatherspoons…..

While it may 'aspire' to be a business lounge it doesn't quite make it. G&T served with cheap slimline tonic (the only option available) - yuk! Had to pay extra for prosecco. Poor selection of food, including dry cake. The only upside was being able to get a seat. I certainly wouldn't pay to go in there.

Poor service, be prepared to ask a question and get very little response or attention from staff. Food cold with little choice and coffee is bitter.

Nice food. Bacon was left standing and not as fresh as it could have been.

Over priced and cramped. Toilets miles away. Most drinks are extra charge. Only had 50mins due to long baggage check in. Waste of money.

The staff were friendly and helpful and the seating area was clean yet a bit tired. The drink selection was acceptable, but most liquors and prosecco come with an extra charge. The food choices were very limited, with no sandwiches or crisps available. In comparison, the East Midlands Lounge was far superior.

Staff were particularly slow in this venue at the bar. It is poor value when you have to pay for premium spirits when in No 1 or the Clubrooms you do not. Breakfast was average quality but ran out of hash browns. Overall I would be hesitant to visit this lounge again.

Staff are not particularly on it! Table we were shown to hadn't been wiped down since the previous guest left. Only two meals on the menu and a poor selection of nibbles available. Staff weren't proactive. Certainly didn't get anywhere near the £65 or so pounds spent to be there. Would not select this lounge again over sitting in the airport public area, waste of money!

Don't bother, this is not premium its a downgrade from the main departure lounge. I've just walked out. No music or atmosphere and only two trays of what I'd describe as slop for 'complimentary' servings.

Very single time I order from here, it's excessively late. I kick myself every time forgetting they are useless here. Right now, it was meant to be delivered by 11.35 and it's now 12.12. I get it's lunch time but don't offer delivery or be more realistic with delivery time? I have 2 kids now waiting to eat, cannot get hold of the restaurant... pathetic service. I rarely complain or leave bad reviews but this has been too many times now

I'm never eating here again. I ate there for the 3rd time in the last couple of years yesterday. As with every other time I've spent today on the toilet. My gut would be in better shape if I'd bought food from a street vendor in Bangladesh. Clearly either the prep or the hygiene here is well below par. I've learnt my lesson. Never. EVER again. And I urge everyone else to to the same.

I came yesterday with my friends for afternoon tea, it was by far the worst afternoon tea experience we’ve ever had!! I was so shocked that this awful experience came from such reputable hotel! Very unexpected! I was so looking forward for a traditional afternoon tea and I choose the hotel based on reputation and location and invited my friends to come along, I’ve initially booked for 7 and two cancelled on the day for emergency reasons, the afternoon tea was then served, it didn’t look appetising or inviting, tea cups arrived with no saucers underneath, no cups for water for water bottles!! The food was served on one of these wooden blocks which was unexpected and unappealing for the traditional afternoon tea style we were expecting, those blocks were ugly and made it hard to access the items desolated inside and made it hard to communicate with ont another as there in ur face kind of thing!! The whole desolate looked like anything but a traditional afternoon tea style! Coming to the food itself We had soggy couple of sandwiche sliced each, unappealing purple dyed salmon setting on densed pastry (why would u dye the beautiful salmon colour in that unappealing appetising way, it was awfull, we also had arancini balls with meat in the middle despite me telling them we dont want anything containing meat or pork or alcohol when I booked, they apologised and replaced it later with vege version, Scones where ice cold, not fresh and it looked and tasted like what you get in these prepackaged scones from supermarkets,, we also had runny icecrem with few diced pieces of strawberries swimming in the middle, At this point we were off and didn’t want to complete the couple of items left in the sweet section because they also looked like something u just opened from packaging and placed on a plate in a rush!! When we’re ready to pay I was told I need to pay for seven although five came and I asked for afternoon for five on arrival as two cancelled due to emergency happened at the time, no one mentioned this when I booked and it didnt sound right that I have to pay for two extra when they didn’t turn up, The restaurant manager came and told me that he had to prepare for seven and I have to pay for seven because of this, at this point I flipped and wasn’t sure what exactly was pre prepared as everything there looked like ready made supermarket quality food not a top hotel restaurant quality food, and he can see they that there was food left over which shows that wr didn’t enjoy what wr had!! He the. Said I don’t know what’s ur explanation from an afternoon trea, I then Stopped him and said I’ve been to so many in my life most in hotels and I never received this below average experince, food in other place looked artisan, made for you, prepared, inviting, appetising, opposite to what we had! He then apologised and ask me to pay for the five wr had! I’ll never come back again nor my friends will, worst food and very unprofessional restaurant manager, he’s got zero customer service and satisfaction experince!! What a shame…
