Used to come here many year's ago and my family come here all the time, well used too now!!! Staff are decidedly aloof, disinterested, unfriendly and moody and everything seems too much to ask! On top of this they add a service charge in the middle of the bill as if trying to hide it. It's a pity and can only presume it has changed hands over the years. Food was nice but staff and the deceit at adding service charge means we will not return and have advised our friends and family whom all live in Beddington and Wallington to instead look elsewhere where our custom is appreiciated,,,Akash in Wallington or Blue Bengal we are always made to feel welcome. Asif just cannot be bothered!

We go to Asif’s at least once a week. We have taken our grandchildren on many occasions who love it. We have taken many of our family and friends. They always make us very welcome, the staff are polite and friendly The food is fantastic, the staff are happy to suggest different dishes or help you with the menu. Try it I’m sure love it like we do L and B

An absolutely fantastic curry! My wife and I had a very tasty Chicken curry here and the naan was made to perfection. I will definitely be coming here again!

If I could rate this place a 0 I would! The staff are rude and shouted at both myself and my mother on the phone, when we called to say they had not fulfilled our order fully. Both of the different curries we ordered were bland and sweet tasting- even though we had requested extra ginger and extra spice. The staff member shouted at us telling us they could not make the curries hotter as they are batched cooked, so could not be specialised to the customer. Awful, bland curry and terrible customer service.

We ordered a take away tonight and when it arrived it was awful. Cold, and very watery dishes with absolutely no taste. I telephoned to complain and was told, wait for it......."Your standards are obviously much higher than what we offer madam. We are very busy but will give you good discount on your next order" Ergh no thanks I won't be ordering from them EVER again. They also said that their policy is no money can be refunded once the dishes have been opened! Please tell me how you can taste it without opening the container??? Honestly it was the worst curry we have ever tasted basically just a plate of messy slush with about two bits of chicken floating around in it. 😡😡😡😡 By the way I had to give 1 star to submit this review given a choice I would not have even given that!

Have been using these guys for a few years and they never disappoint .Ordered a take away 16/10/21 which was slightly early lovely and hot and all of the dishes were superb Many Thanks Rob& Jane Manor way Wallington

I am eally disappointed! There was no spice what so ever even though half the dishes we ordered were meant to be hot/spicy, Food was late upon delievery, then we paid cash on delivery, we got the reciept with the total displayed on the website crossed out, then written an extra 6 pounds. I queried the restaurant when the delievery had came, i was confused as to why we were paying more? The restaurant cut me off, i was so annoyed, Would DEFINITELY NOT BE ORDERING HERE AGAIN!! AS LOYAL CUSTOMERS TO THIS RESTAURANT, I WILL NOT EVEN THINK TO GO THERE AGAIN!

Have used this restaurant many times and have never been disappointed. Tonight's delivery was out of this world I have been going curry houses for 40 years and have got to say this is possibly the best curry I've ever had.

Nice person who took our order, covid takeaway arrived late but busy weekend food was average and slightly cold. Would be nice to have whole popadom and not broken ones. 3/5 tops, thanks all.

Dont go here! the food is not what you ask for even after a bad experience i went back and my curry had coconut pieces in it which i have never experienced in my life with this particular dish, im so angry and ive wasted money yet again after giving a second chance when they ruined my food the last time. They don't care about quality and obviously the decent chef they once had is no longer there . Avoid to not be dissapointed

Went to Asif for my first curry with my family and would highly recommend it to others. Starters were a good portion for the price, as were the mains. The food was delicious, and variety on the menu allows something for everyone. We were treated to a complimentary shot of baileys after our meal. The service was second to none, really friendly and made us feel at home. I would happily return again.

Been going there for years hard to beat great place. but have to book Friday or Saturday staff very polite and helpful.

Entered Asif by surprise on a Sunday night. The choice on the menu is great, but when I asked for something off the menu, that was handled perfectly as well. We had tandoori chicken (both half and full) and lamb jalfrezi. With some side dishes we had a great meal with fine taste. It was a quiet evening and the staff and ourselves really enjoyed a good chat. Highly recommended if you love food from the Indian region.

The restaurant is a typical of an indian restaurant up down the country. The food offered was good but not exceptional and the portions were fair. Fortunately the menu offered a variety in styles and cuisines of asian fayre but not to the extent of being overwhelming. A decent selection of alcoholic drinks and beverages were available.All in all, perfectly acceptable on a Saturday night in South London. Prices were pretty reasonable including drinks.Parking was available within a five minute walking distance and is well served by public transport.

I've never eaten in here, however have been getting takeaways from them for some years. I'd say they are probably the most consistent Indian takeaway in the local area, for taste and quality. It's good value too, with my favourite dish (chicken dansak) coming served with pilau rice at just £6.95.When I need that spicy curry hit, I know exactly what I'm getting when I tap through a Just Eat delivery from these guys. Highly recommended.

We have been having meals from the Asif for many years now, mainly takeaway, but we do venture in to the restaurant occasionally. In the main the food has been of a good standard with the occasional blip, however in the last few months the food has been consistently better and I have no doubts in recommending the Asif. This is the first time that I have reviewed this restaurant, but felt the food warranted a good review. We had pretty standard stuff, chicken madras, chicken tikka bhuna, all of which were great, the Bhajis were how i like them , not too stodgy in the middle and not too crispy on the outside. We usually have a delivery once a week so we are able to give a balanced opinion. The staff are and always have been very friendly and the takeaway service good, although that can depend upon how busy the restaurant is.

been lots of times as it is walking distance, always been nice food. the waiters are very polite . the last few times we've been the service was poor. husband and i go early to miss the rush but still waited over an hour , by this time the restaurant is filling up and still no food. finally the food arrived the tikka tasted of chemicals and the chicken pathia we ordered tasted of a bland plain curry .very disappointing .going to try mango lounge has been highly recommended

We ordered a couple of takeaways while we were staying in the area because we were informed this was the best place in the area for a ruby. the food was okay but nothing great so I would say it must be living in the past.

We hadn't been to Asif's for over a year as hadn't been impressed with the food. We've been back in there a couple of times this year and been pleasantly surprised. They've updated the menu and the specials are really worth a try. Some lovely curries on there with a slightly different spin.Service, as always, is with a smile.

We had 2 prawn puri which the prawns were over cooked bullets and the sauce was watery and bland. Likewise with the chicken tikka masala. The best thing about it was the pompadoms.

Good food consisting of usual Bangladeshi cuisine. Nice staff who are always very welcoming. The restaurant is slightly lacking in atmosphere and needs some more pictures or wall art to make it feel warmer and more interesting.

We had a really nice meal. Served nice and hot with hardly any grease. One of the best indian meals we have had anywhere for a long time. The staff was prompt and polite at all times. Can't wait to return.

Ordered takeaway and waited an extra 15 min to come and so disappointed with what we've got. 3 peaces of meat in the jalfrezi watery sauce with no flavour with over cooked tiny prawns and hard potatoes in the sag aloo. We use to go there quiet often as it was nearby and testy but never again. Very disappointed

I've been here a few times now and I must say they that the food has been exquisite. The service has been excellent as well and has improved under the new management. I will continue to go to Asif - simply the best restaurant around the local area!

Isn't the same without Ali but recently found out that him and his boys now have a new restaurant in Wallington, called 'mango lounge'

Great for an evening or late night curry. Usually no need to book. good selection of curries and other Bangledeshi meals. Good for take away as well

Good food has changed but it is ok nothing special like it use to be the old owners sons are not there and they new management don't really have a clue what's going on like the boys use to the atmosphere has changed and it's not my favourite anymore we have gone to Wallington and found a new favourite!

We recently moved to the area and have been to this restaurant a few times now, it's nice to have a place like this nearby. Good prices, friendly staff and some nice wines too!

Recently moved to the area and started to checkout the restaurants and pubs. Asifs does an excellent curry, I had the madras and it was spiced to perfection. Price is really good, we had a bottle of red wine with the dinner. Been back a few times since!

Have used this restaurant for well over 12 years now but I think it has changed hands. This is about the fourth disappointing meal lately as we kept going back in the hope that it was just a different chef or a bad night, anyway we have now decided that we will never go back again.Curries were very watery and tasteless the meat was very dry, onion bahji's were dry and awful in fact nothing was very nice and it is not cheap. Well overpriced for what it is. Would not recommend it to anyone.

So we get there and straight away they treat us like scum they say they ain't open even though there's other people sitting there eating! Then they say oh yeah we can eat but no starters and they did not make us feel welcome at all , never again rude and unkind!!!

Not often I say a restaurant is excellent but this place was truly great! The food was gorgeous, fast service and very lovely staff. We even asked to use a phone charger and a member of staff went to the shop to buy one for us to use. Never had customer service like it, thankyou for a lovely evening!

Food is unbelievably tasty and still good value. The decor has been updated and it looks very smart. Unfortunate that there were children allowed to run around on a Saturday night but it's the parents' fault. The waiters have no power. Some of the staff seemed to have changed, but it's a firm favourite and it won't be as long before I return.I recommend the chicken pathia and coconut rice. My friend had the stuffed green pepper and highly rated it. And although Indian deserts are always hilarious for some reason in our ridiculous opinion, the orange sorbet was divine! Enough for all four of us for one serving! Oo and the lemon rice was more ricey lemon!

We typically visit as a party of 6 on a Saturday night and have been half a dozen times now. They offer the standard curry house fare that you would expect. It is very good, probably one of the best in the area. Service is good and comes with a smile and pleasant manner. No long delays. Wine is reasonably priced. The only thing that lets the premises down are the bathrooms. Whilst clean, they are not inviting and could do with a refurb. Otherwise, highly recommended for the quality of the food and service. We will be visiting again and again ...

My friend and I went to Asif for a mid week dinner.The restaurant was not very busy at the time we were there.The restaurant is nicely decorated with light colours, comfortable seats and white table cloth on tables.As for the food: we had a mixed Kebab starters consisting of chicken chat, freshly made and well cooked. the other kebabs were also made with the outmost regard to taste and presentation.For our main course we had Chicken Tikka Masala mixed vegetable curry, Tarka Dhal, Garlic Nan. All dishes were nicely presented freshly made and tasted very good. All were served at a reasonable interval between courses,not too long to wait. Service was friendly apart from one waiter pacing aimlessly and not getting involved with the service.On the whole our visit to Asit was very good.I would recommend Asif Restaurant to my friends.Ron Ben-Zvi.

this is a typical Old fashioned curry house, is near a good pub, The menu is a very standard Indian restaurant menu but the food is delicious service is excellent the decor is nice, the only thing that lets it down is they need to have specials interesting food that cannot be bought in other Indian restaurants

We have just had the best meal we have ever had in an Indian resturant. The food was 10 out of 10 for presentation and flavour and the service was superb. Attention to detail was very good and loved the little touch at the end with the free box of chocs and heart lollypops. Well done asif !!! We will be returning again soon.

We are fans of Asif, and it is local, and booked for New Year's Eve. The restaurant was full and the service was reasonable. There were many unhappy diners and it is clear that ASIF was extended as it had a regular queue of "takeaway" clients waiting. The service for others was poor - up to 2 hours we heard - as they happily served drinks but did not serve the food quickly enough. ASIF should have postponed, or refused, takeaways but didn't. We knew that ASIF had just won the "UK Curry Chef" award and were looking forward to eating there. My meal was good but not "UK best" level. We will go back on a quieter night to see how good it really can be. The new owners must try to maintain the good reputation developed by Ali and family.

Warm and nice inside on Christmas Eve, tables had crackers on nice touch. Have not been for quite a while and was very sad that Ali has has to retire early. Service was as good as usual, hope the new owner will move away from the bar area and talk to his customers. Food was excellent.

I have been visiting Asif since it opened . The food is the best you can eat and I have friends who travel miles to come here . Unfortunately due to ill health the original owner Ali was forced to retire earlier this year . However this still remains the same quality curry house, as Paul who had worked there for years is the new owner . He has retained the same chef who has just won a award for his cooking . A really friendly restaurant with the best curry you can get will worth a visit .

Good place in Croydon to dine in or take out for your curry fix. Reasonably priced. The stuff parathra is nice. The kebab has good flavor and just a tat dry. I prefer my curry a little thicker and it was a little runny. Those are my two criticisms.

We decided to give the place a try after having ridiculously slow service in the restaurant opposite. The food and the atmosphere were really good. The price for the food was good but the drinks were a bit on the pricey side. However I would have no hesitation in recommending it.

Had a meal here with friends and relatives. Food was great and well presented. Service was very attentive. It's a regular for us and we will certainly be returning and recommening to others.

We have been going to the Asif for the last 10 years the best restaurant and food place there is but sadly it has changed ownership we asked one of the waiters hows ali and his sons as they are there all the time and they was missing last two times we went they are always there he said ali has retired now and sold it a few weeks ago this is so sad as this is my favourite place to eat out and enjoyed the company of ali and his boys they truly knew how to run a restaurant and things will never be the same at Asif without you guys !!!!!!

Have known Ali for 20 years. This man and his family know how to run a restaurant, although not been for a while, service and food excellent, will be back ( also like the music here )

It was my friends birthday we had been looking to book somewhere to have our meal 15 of us ! And came across Asif in beddington which we was recommended by another friend so we thought well give it a try the food was excellent i was recommeded a chicken special done by the chef which wasnt on the menu to my taste and it was amazing the best dish i have ever had at any restaurant my friends were recommeded some speacials and they loved it The staff are very friendly decor is very nice we will deffo be back !! 5 stars for this place

How many times do your friends say their local Indian restaurant is the best. Well this certainly was. Excellent food and service. Everything tasted fresh and the staff could not do enough for us. Nothing was too much trouble they recommended really tasty dishes, gave us a doggy bag and organised a take away as well as giving us a fridge magnet. Compliments to the chef and a big thank you to the staff.

Having been one of the Asif first customers when it opened twenty one years ago its a indian very hard to beat.The proof is the customers who eat there nearly every night it is busy that must say it all.Ali and his sons have became friends now and we always receive a very warm welcome.The food is superb and If you ask Ali (the owner) he will always cook you something special and different which i must say whatever dish he as mustered up for me has always been superb.As other revivers have said the drinks are on the pricey side and the food is a little bit dearer than most but its well worth the extra full knowing the food is going to be great and the service and atmosphere is second to none.Anyone who likes there indian food this place is a must to eat.

It was New Years eve and we had been let down on what we had planned. Phoned Asif's up at 8pm and asked for a table for 4 and they said yes at 9.30pm. They service was great with a good atmosphere. Only one complaint and that was that the lamb meat was a bit tough.

We keep coming back as we love it here. Still haven't found a better indian. The staff are friendly. Still I little pricey but it's worth every penny.

Popped in for a mid week meal for two. Bill came to over £40 however service was promoted and tasty.

Brilliant atmosphere on a Saturday night, with friendly service. We really enjoyed the breads - you can taste the wood burning oven. The dishes are all served quickly. Don't worry if you can't eat really spicy food - it's not too spicy.

I have no idea what theese fake reviews are about of all this jealous people disliking the asif restaurant, jealously is disgusting! The food and staff are absolutely amazing and has been for the past 20 years! All the rival restaurants are trying to write bad comments but comments won't effect this great restaurant!! We ordered here as our usual great tasting south indian takeaway was closed and we saw asif had dosa on their menu.first of all the delivery of the food took a long time and then when it arrived it was cold so we had to reheat it.The dosa was not a dosa at all but a egg omlette stuffed with bland potatoes and came with no coconut chutney or sambar.All the curries and tarka dahl all tasted the same and had no flavour or spice to them.would not order again.

Have eaten here a number of times and always enjoyed it. Always choose eat in as take away is not an option - tried that and it wasn't brilliant. The staff are fantastic and will always explain or change things if you ask. They are very accommodating and nothing is too much trouble. The food can be a tad greasy so you need to pick and choose, but the quality is great and they do not scrimp on the portions.

We had a take away from this restaurant a few weeks ago and most of it went strait in the bin, If you like your food drowned in oil that needs changing then this is the restaurant for you. Do these people not understand that in these hard times if you serve up poor quality food people are not going to return. We would not eat here again even if the food was free. A total waste of money.
