Asia Delight in Ipswich

This is our favourite Chinese delivery. The food is always hot, fresh and tasty. It is normally around 1.5-2 hours for delivery but it's worth the wait in my opinion. The delivery drivers are always friendly and polite. The chicken in peking sauce is delicious!

Ordered at 18.06 at point of ordering said would be around an hour. On receipt of email it said it would be delayed by another 30 mins. I tried calling to be met by the engaged tone over and over again. Over 50 times trying to get through I finally got a response. This was at 20.15!! Lady on the phone said she would chase the driver as the food had left. She said he was on an avenue nearby but she could not hear him well and he will be delivering in a few minutes- no apology given. 20.45 my order arrived, luke warm and again, no apology. Have used Asia Delight for many years and service is usually slow but this was ridiculous. Time to find a new Chinese.

Took 2.5 hours to arrive and by the time it came wish they hadn't bothered! Picture shows the smoked chicken, which is supposed to be battered and similar to salt and pepper chicken, although more closely resembles something I'd find in my garden once the foxes had left! The stuff on top is sugar that has caramelised and gone solid. Eating the chicken was honestly like biting in to a sugar cube. Rank. Luckily I wasn't hungry by the time it finally arrived but a very expensive meal to throw in the bin 😂

We ordered late Via Just eat ordered just before 9pm and quoted delivery of 9.45pm delivered 25mins early and food was tasty 1st ever order and no problem ordering from here again

Ordered food about 30 mins ago. The order didn't take long at all to arrive. It came pipping hot;lovely fresh food. I do recommend this Chinese takeaway. Give it a go and let me know what you think. I strongly recommend their sweet and sour prawns..

We ordered tonight. We live a 5 min drive away, 5 mins! 2 hours we have been waiting, still no delivery. Everytime we ring to ask where it is, they tell is a different time.... really fed up now, it's 9pm and we are starving

The food was very delicious and was ready on time for collection. I enjoyed the soup and grilled momo after very long time. The price was very reasonable and a friendly owner who welcomes with a smile. Would recommend for Chinese cuisine lovers

We ordered from here during lockdown whilst our usual Chinese was closed. Now again due to our usual place being closed for refurbishment we ordered from here tonight. I don't think we will return to our usual. This was by far the nicest takeaway Chinese we have had in a long time. Would recommend and definitely use again

Very friendly owners the House special Noodles were great , Big prawns, pork, beef ,chicken fresh vegetables .Old school Cantonese. The house special fried rice was also nice but not that much meat. Cost £11.60 which is great value plus they gave us a bag of prawn crackers & my daughter a fortune cookie. Been looking for a decent Chinese in Ipswich & these guys are worth a go.

Found this little gem by chance and it's at the end of my road! Read the reviews and got to say I'm glad I listened to the good ones saying its the best Chinese on Ipswich. I have to agree 100% and I've tried a few. I had 1/4 duck and pancakes. Spicy Singapore rice noodles huge portion and it was spicy top! king prawn Hong Kong style. Largest ever too!

Horrible delivery . Had to wait for 2 hours even on non peak days.

Very poor customer service , they the phone off hook so no1 can ring they just deliver 2 hours later 30 mins after restaurant closed 10pm who is gonna want to eat at 10pm couldn't even ring the restaurant to cancel as took phone off hook what a joke

Asia Delight is so so so delicious. Beef Rendang is probably my favourite dish, but their braising sauce is a close second as it's so delicate and comforting and always has a good selection of vegetables. The fried rice is the perfect texture and never too wet. Salt and chilli tofu is my favourite of the many vegan and vegetarian options. Portion sizes are generous, sauces are flavourful and well balanced, and most dishes contain a healthy amount of vegetables all with the perfect texture and taste to complement the rest of the dish. Asia Delight is by far my favourite Ipswich takeaway, I am always satisfied.

We have never had any complaints here the food selection is great and always cooked to perfection. Our favourites wanton soup, salt and pepper wings and the pineapple and cashew rice mmmm

Disgusting service, been using this place for many years and tonight will be the last time. We have been waiting for 2 hrs now, phoned them and asked to cancel and to have a refund to get told they don’t do refunds. I offered to go collect and they said no, it’s a delivery so we will have to wait another 20 mins. What a joke, never again.

I have been cheated out of my food by this business. I ordered from the just eat app and cancelled shortly after. I noticed a payment of £30 was taken from my account. Upon investigation it appears this bunch of cowboys decided they had already prepared the food (yeh right) so instead of telling me or just delivering it (as they took the delivery charge too) they just pocketed the money. No food and no apology. I will never use them again and I will do my best to ensure none of my friends do either. It’s shameful that they have behaved. I don’t eat takeaway often and cancelled purely as my husband was taken ill and couldn’t eat that night. Had they delivered I could have eaten the food I’d paid for another time.

I have had food from here on many occasions but I noted that my bank account had debited two payments from just eat. It appears that despite me cancelling my order, the restaurant unilaterally decided that they would process the payment. Their excuse to just eat was that they had started preparing the food. If that was the case then surely they should then deliver this food that I had paid for. Seems like a good way to scam £30 pounds from me whilst some other poor sap gets food I had paid for. Winner winner Chinese dinner!

Ordered for collection as l live nearby. Food was cooked ready bang on given collection time. Food was hot and enjoyed by all the family. Thank you!

Best Chinese in town, I’d wait hours for the maylay randang to be delivered. Or if I want it sooner I’d just go collect it. Very polite staff gotta understand that these places will be extremely busy as no one can go out and ordering in. Keep it up Asian delight 👍👍👍

As I have said in other ratings of Chinese takeaways I rate them on the strength of their lemon chicken. It was ok but didn't make me wanna go back next time I'm there and I order the house special fried rice and the rice was on the side and the fillings was next to it on the right and I'm kinda not used to that and the gravy with it was really watery and I'm from oop North and gravy should be thicker in my opinion. I probably won't be going back.

Ordered a takeaway via Just Eat - over £40. - at 6.00 pm. At 8.00 pm I phoned them - where is it? Told AT LEAST another hour. NO info - NO updates even though the Just Eat page said 'on the way'... NEVER again.

Do not eat from this place. Ordered 2 lots of Hors d'oeuvres 3 mains From justeat delivery. Food came layed it out on table we sat down. Started eating hors d'oeuvres bit into spring roll to feel something in my month. Pulled it out. There was a long dark hair running right through it. Completely put us all off the food. Ended up having beans on toast. I did put 1 star on justeat.. Called Asia delight spoke i think to owner, explained what I found. He promised to call me back Monday. This was Saturday. No phone call Monday so I called him. Who was more upset that I put 1 star. Not the fact that I had a hair in my food. Promised to call Friday that wk. Again no phone call which again I had to call. Spoke again more worried about 1 star on justeat. Not about the problem in hand. I did ask for a refund which he would not do. I would not have paid in a restaurant.. Plus as he did advise on 2nd conversation he has had this problem before. Hairs in spring rolls from his suppliers. Why would you keep using them if there is a problem. Terrible customer service just more worried about his 1 star and taking money....

First ti.e we tried today and the food was fantastic. After a recommendation we tried the marmite ribs and all I can say is wow Absolutely brilliant food my kids even cleared there plates Thank you Asia delight

Sorry,over 2.5 hr wait,food was barely warm and if we were not so hungry l would have refused it,lamb dish was mainly fat and onion so inedible, ribs were 90% bone,sesame toast was soggy,chips were cold,for £37 i expected an edible meal but was disappointed, not good I'm afraid,no stars was not an option 1 was minimum l could give,would have been a minus otherwise.

I wouldn't even give it one star waited 3 hours for my order to be delivered and was cold when it arrived will never order from there again

Our takeaway fridays are always met with a unanimous decision to order from here. Everything is always piping hot and the delivery is always on time. It's a sad time at the moment due to Covid19 and due to the lockdown everyone is ordering from our favourite place, pro's and con's! I reccomend preordering to avoid disappointment. My top dishes are - • Dumplings (I would eat them every single day breakfast lunch and dinner if i could) • Spicy Singapore chow mein • Malay style rice • and top it off with the Salt and Chilli Chips Please don't ever close x

Ordered on line and ended up waiting 1hr 30min and the food still had not arrived.....really poor service and can’t say how the food is/was as still haven’t received the delivery

Food was ok, extremely slow delivery though (like 2 hours from order) and couldn't get through to the restaurant on the phone to check this.

Worth the wait!!! The food is incredible 😍 best Chinese in ipswich ... We waited 2 hours for our food but after spoken to them on the phone the guy apologised and was very polite. Explained that they are currently the only chinese take away that's taking orders at moment so they were extremely busy and I believe that because we did try to order from another chinese but they ended up rejecting our order. So I have a lot of respect for this chinese as during these hard time,they still continuing supporting us and working. The food was also absolutely amazing, will deffinelty order with them again! Thank you

Really good food, I like that it's got more spice and flavour compared to other places. The Singapore rice noodles are a particular favourite. We always pick up so can't comment on delivery.

2 hours for a delivery from point of order is unacceptable. Food was only just warm and edible. Shop advised driver was on his way and then turned up 30 mins later....we don't live 30 mins drive away! Will not order from here again

We regularly order from here and I have to say it's absolutely shocking how long you have to wait to get your food tonight over 2 hours.... How's is that acceptable! And all we get when we call to ask where our dinner is.... "We're busy we are sorry. We have a big group walk in" Every time we order this cant keep being the excuse as to why we wait longer than 90 minuets. Sorry but you have now lost our custom. Regret spending £40 for my family to eat with you regularly.

Don't know what meat they substituted the pork with...it sure as hell wasn't pork...rice is dry and bland...sweet chill sauce tasted like oil with jalapeno seeds in...all food tasted reheated..

This has to be the best Chinese takeaway in Ipswich! Delicious food at very fair prices, delivered swiftly and with a smile, I have had nothing but great service from Asia Delight. Highly recommended!

Best chinese Food in İpswich i love it

Normally this place is really good but this time it wasn't. Our sweet and sour sauce cup pritty much disintegrated and burn my partner quite bad phoned the restaurant to talk to them about it and he just said. It's because it's winter so we do it hot and the health inspector wants it to be over 65 degrees..... Fair enough...... However invest in better containers vefor you burn a child. Off to a+e for my partners burn as it stuck to the thigh causing a terrible burn

I only live a couple of hundred yards away so it’s very handy. The new management have put a lot of effort in and it shows, vastly improved, had a lot of meals from here since the change over, never let me down, very happy to recommend 😊

I placed the order on Just-Eat and was told it would take an hour and ten minutes. OK. Then an hour and half later I was told to it would take an extra twenty minutes. OK. I checked the site and saw they had added yet again another 20 minutes. By this time, the whole affair started looking dubious to me. I tried calling them just to ascertain that this gig was still on. No joy. Phone was off the hook. I cancelled the order at 21:20. No point waiting for a non-existent meal. An order placed at 19:20 expected to arrive at 21:45. I kid you not. No point in using these jokers. There are lots of 5 stars for the eatery but most of the comments refer to an average meal and awful service. Shame on you Asia Delight.

A proper hidden gem, the food was fresh, yes you have to wait a reasonable time but it was worth the wait knowing it's cooked to order. The seafood dishes was better than some seafood restaurants. Food was crispy, no soggy or greasy fried food on arrival. Not badly priced for the portions too. Will definitely be using again.

Having had our Just Eat order confirmed at 1858 we waited until after 2045 for it to arrive. The order said it would be here at 2015 so this was completed unacceptable! We tried calling over 30 times to find out where it was but they had obviously taken the phone off the hook. Terrible service. My poor little girl was ravenous by the time it showed up and the delivery driver took the brunt of my anger although I did apologise and understood it wasn't his fault. The quality of the food is neither here nor there as no meal is worth waiting that long for. Will NEVER order from here again. Just rubbish!

We ordered a delivery at 1730 through just eat. It was scheduled to be delivered at 1840. It didn’t arrive and we rang to check it was on the way. We were told it was and it was because they were busy. At 1915 we rang again and got told it should of arrived. We told them it was far too long and we cancelled. We got another call asking us to accept the order and offered it for free. We declined. We will not use it again. Seems the new management is not working out.

"Under New Management!" said the leaflet through my door. Oh good, I thought. Perhaps that means they won't give me food that causes me to put my head down the toilet bowl at 4am the following morning. And look! It says they now take card payments, like all the other shops do in the 21st Century, so that's something isn't it? We order, we eat, it tastes OK. The curry is a bit poor, with that awful generic chip shop sauce they make out of a paste in the microwave, but fine. The staff are friendly. 4am: my teenage son wakes me up: "Dad, I've just puked in the sink. Can you help me clear in up?" Nice work if you can get it. 5am: I'm back in the bathroom with my head in the bowl. Just like old times, eh, Asia Delight? Apart from that, thoroughly recommended.

Always used this takeaway. Not any more.. New management and the food was awful. Lots of our favourite meals have been taken off the menu. Will be going else where from now on.

This takeaway has recently changed management. It was the Best for miles but now is very poor. They did no local advertising of taking over. No new menus sent out to locals. Obviously no research in to customer care. Simply took on a thriving business thinking they can reap the rewards. Well NO. Tomato sauce in your chop suey? Wrong! Soggy salt and chilli prawns that used to be excellent. Over garliced Singapore rice! Sweet and sour pork was ok ish. Need to up their game if they want to keep their customers. I'd like to know where the previous chef went.? Shame.

Tried this restaurant as our usual one was closed on Tuesday. Ordered through just eat. Arrived on time. Food was of a good standard. Crispy duck was nice. Average prices for Ipswich. Would probably use again.

Food was over half an hour late, phoned and was told the delivery driver had just left. An hour and a half is unacceptable to wait for a takeaway.

Not sure they understood what their own vegetarian soup should have in it. However chicken and prawns is not a good start. I'll never order from this place again 🤮

Brilliant food. This place is so underrated - the Spicy Salt and Chilli Chips, OMG!!! The marmite sauce (yum!!) and the service is super friendly.

the order didn’t arrive so I tried calling and got an answer machine! the food arrived 20 minutes late, the excuse was they were busy, I would not have minded but could they not have let me know? they had confirmed the selected delivery time and had my phone number?? the food was cold the prawn toast was just a sea of burnt grease and oil I will never order from here again as I’ve had so much better from other take away

Food tasted stewed, sauces (satay and black bean) were watery flavourless and sweet tasting., a very disappointing meal.

We've tried a few Chinese in Ipswich over the past couple of years but this was the first time we'd tried Asia Delight. We were both REALLY impressed. Good portions of very tasty food which was neither greasy or salty. Will definitely be ordering from here again. Highly recommended

Dinner was late, cold and not very appetising. Only didn't complain and send it back as we had 2 hungry children waiting to be fed.

The driver was rude. The food was cold. They didn't bring any of the drinks.

One of the best Chinese takeaways I've had in the Ipswich area. I only went because my 'usual' takeaway was closed. The food here was excellent and I will definitely be going back again. Highly recommended!

I complained to the restaurant and just eat because I was missing food and the restaurant lady was rude, shouted at my wife then she put the phone down on my wife. After complaining to you guys I was told to get back in touch with you after 15 minutes but 24 hours later I've still not managed to speak to anyone and still no apology or refund

Tried a few different Chinese takeaways in Ipswich, but keep coming back to this one. Food is consistently great, regardless of time of day/week. They always deliver when they say or earlier, even if they can't deliver when you want, they'll tell you when they can. In short, good food, good service, great team.

We ordered only a few dishes.. Chilli and Salt Squid, Chicken Balls and Beef Chow Mein. I have never tasted Squid like it! It was Devine. The chicken balls weren't greasy at all and the batter was really light. The chow mein had tons of flavour and again wasn't greasy. This will definitely be our local takeaway from now on!

Don't know any of above because driver claimed he rang doorbell twice; CCTV says otherwise. Staff argued they had phoned, return number was 0700 hence caution when returning call and it went to answerphone. Told they would send food out immediately; still waiting 30 minutes later, by now it is 60 minutes since cooking and delivery: would you eat it after an hour on a moped? Still waiting for door bell an hour after requested delivery! We are now cooking ourselves, finally arrived cold, never again!

Me encanta este restaurante! La mejor comida china para llevar en Ipswich, la comida sabe fresca y no quiere beber litros de agua después. Mi favorito es el pollo en salsa de frijol negro, que viene con frescos y pimientos y zanahorias. Sus plazos de entrega son siempre acertadas y tienen conductores amable también. Sin duda lo recomiendo.

Food was cold, spent £25, didn't get any Prawn crackers. Sometimes we do, sometimes we don't; problem is there is no consistency each time we order.

And maybe beyond... only came to this Chinese because my usual was closed, and am now converted! The portions are fantastic and high quality, you'll be my top choice for Chinese from now on! Highly recommended.
