Ashoka's food always tastes fresh and delicious!

Food was still hot and tasted great. Lamb was lovely.

Just had Christmas dinner here great friendly staff. Great atmosphere nice & calm no rush. We had a traditional Christmas dinner & a curry meal very tasty food & not overpriced definitely will come back for a curry thank you & all the best for 2025

As usual, the meal was lovely. Staff very friendly. In particular I must recommend Starter: meat samosa, just the right amount of spice and delicate pastry Main: chicken saag, delightful spinach curry, perfect

Don't usually write reviews but thought I had to. We have had takeaway food from Ashoka and it was great but nothing like going into the restaurant, absolutely superb! Staff were attentive but not overly so. Great experience and we will be back soon!

First visit to Ashoka 13 of us, wow great service, nothing was too much trouble, friendly staff, the food was exceptional, good sized portions and very good value for money, we will definitely be visiting again, thanks for having us.

Just back from Hannah's 18th Birthday meal. Been previously and had takeaways from Ashoka Restaurant, Market Street, Whitworth. Hannah's favourite is a curry, so curry it was!! Lovely food, nice atmosphere, service fab not rushed, good family time together. Happy Birthday Hannah!!!

First time visit to Ashoka. Enjoyed the great value Sunday special on a sunny afternoon. Food and service were really good.

I ordered earlier tonight, and I was a little bit disappointed, the food just wasn’t up to its usual standards and the food tasted bland. Hopefully just a one off but still not ideal when spending £50. Delivery was amazing though, and the driver was here far earlier than expected.

Me and my partner had completely different dishes but both tasted the same and not much flavour. There were only us 2 in the whole time we were there too.

The food is brilliant! We’ve ordered twice now and both times the food has been delicious, cooked to perfection, and they’ve always been early! The last time we ordered my naan was broken, so they added a free naan to compensate! Will not go anywhere else for my curry night now!

I've ordered from here a few times and for some reason this time round the food wasn't great, I found it quite tasteless and bland. I also ordered a peshwari Naan which tasted like a plain one and I ordered a coke which never got delivered. Maybe an off day it hasn't put me off ordering again.

Delivered only 1 curry chips and naaan when we had ordered 3 meals and 3 rice as well! Very disappointing!!!!

Vegetable biryani × 2. One with vegetable curry and one with samber sauce. We both thought the food hot and delicious. Delivered bang on time. Recommended.

Never normally leave review but poor response has made me. Order a week or so ago and food was loverly and fresh. Tonight ordered, and the masala was like water and had a really sour taste. Literally un-edable. Phoned and let them know and response before putting phone down is next time we will give for free. Sorry but sending what you have out, wasn't good enougth and fresh should have been sent. It won't be free next time because I won't order again and un shamefully now leave you a poor review. Simple lack of effort to put right. No one wanted free food. Pay good money, simply expect some effort.

Food arrived late and was very salty , the starters arrived with no salad or sauce so was about 3 pieces of chicken in a tray. The main meal was so salty we had to bin it. Overall was quiet cold very salty and overpriced.

I dislike giving a stinging review but this was dire. All 4 of us sad we only ate it because we're hungry, no pleasure from it. Only nice part was the fresh naan. Rest warmed up muck. No depth of flavour, certainly the mains not fresh.

Had an excellent meal last night at the Ashoka. From the starters to the mains, everything was spot on. Staff are so friendly. Raj makes the the best Irish Coffee ever - so good we had two!!

WOW! First time trying this place me and the Mrs gone out for a meal together. This is a place you should not miss absolutely puts the bigger name company’s to shame. All staff friendly and foods absolutely delicious

Absolutely spot on! Can't fault the guys at ashoka, they been In the village for 30 years plus. Eat in or takeaway available lovely restaurant and great people. Every dish is always consistent no oily tasteless food. Try try try!!!

We had a delivery from Ashoka via Rossendale Eats. The food was delivered within the reasonable time promised and was lovely and hot ready to be tucked into. The portions while not massive were enough for one person to consume comfortably without wanting more and leaving no waste, which from the businesses side of things where wastage is concerned is very efficient. Their naan breads could be bigger if I am really looking for something to pick up on, but they’re probably perfect for most folk. The delivery driver was also the owner I believe and he was very polite, bowing as we took the bag off him. I would recommend Ashoka if you’re a local looking for Indian cuisine either to sit in or have delivered. Very happy.

We have loved our food that we've ordered from Ashoka every time, but this time both my husband and I were disappointed. Both our curries didn't tasted very different than the other times, so we didn't finish our meals, just not as good.

Portion sizes are great, super affordable and a really tasty curry. Got the chicken chilli masala it didn’t disappoint. Would happily order again

Ordered prawn biryani for main. The prawns were tiny, more like shrimp and few and far between. Chicken starter was salty but tasty. Peshwari naan was good. Lamb chops were OK. Jalfrezi sauce was OK. Overall OK but had better.

First time trying this place and sadly disappointed. Good points: Food wasn’t greasy The pilau rice was perfect Good portion size for the balti Arrived early although to me it concerns me there appears to be little cook time and it’s a base they use for all Bad points: Onion Bhaji were over cooked and hard Tarka daal was very watery and tasteless Chicken tikka balti was bland and no spice to it..very oniony as well The Peshawari naan bread was a small portion and you didn’t really get the peshwari taste until you got to the middle which meant it was half normal naan and half peshwari… Over all disappointed and sadly won’t use again

Good mains with aromatic flavours, but the poppadoms had been cooked in old oil by the taste of them. The puri bread was soggy too unfortunately. However, good speedy service and a friendly delivery driver in Raj!

The onion rice was gorgeous. Nan and chapatti are good. Fries good. the onions in the Jalfrezi were hard and the chicken tikka didn't hit the mark. I've had chicken tikka from other takeaways, and you could tell it was succulent chicken, but this seemed to have a different construction. Not keen on this tikka...

Delicious AGAIN!!! My Veggie Biryani was exactly like I wanted - no pot but extra cabbage, YUM!!! Hubby enjoyed his Prawn Biryani too and the Nan breads were perfect! Thank you, Ashoka!

I have tried many indian take aways in the area and this the best without doubt. We have ordered Korma and Mardras Chicken , saag peneer and dhal - delicious. Full of flavour and not to greasy. Very nice and friendly people. Highly recomended :)

Just moved into the area and ordered from Uber eats. Great fast and friendly service, the meat was succulent and the curry tasty, I personally would have preferred a touch more seasoning/spices. But very enjoyable nonetheless, looking forward to dining in the restaurant next time.
