£5 so called cheese toastie deal with nothing else offered. I recived soggy bread torn apart in several pieces. never had such disgraceful toasie in my life never eaten out ASDA again. Diabolical service. The person serving has seen better days like he had beed dragged through a push backwards. Absolutely shameful..

I was in Sunday 19th May at 4pm , went to checkouts and was served by Jane , she wins first prize for shocking customer service, no welcome , no eye contact , no acknowledgment at all , when I paid her , still nothing , literally would have got more conversation from self scan , Jane needs a wee refresher course on delivering basic customer service.

This store is a disgrace. Went in this evening for my shopping, and had a loaded basket full of groceries. No manned till open, and when I asked that I wanted it put through the Checkout I was rudely told that I would have to wait as the checkout operator was on their break. 3 Colleagues were loitering around the self service area, and not one of them offered to process my shopping. I was so disgusted that i left my full basket of groceries on the unmanned checkout,walked out, and will not be back. I will be putting a complaint into Asda Head Office about this tomorrow.

I am so impressed with the care Asda staff showed today with my elder mother, she is 88. After doing my own shopping I went to find out where she was because there was some delay. I found her sitting in a chair and staff packing her bag. They noticed she was looking tired and wanted to make sure she was ok so got her into a chair and processed her shopping. So kind and considerate. Thank u staff at Asda in Galashiels.

Wide range of products and produce

Limited selection. Don't even stock HP fruity. Some shelfs are constantly empty. Go in one day and next day they have rearranged the entire store. Numerous times they are put of milkshakes, milk, bread even once there were no chilled meats at all.

Twice in the past few weeks items have been marked at one price on the shelves and then charged at 50% or more above that price at the till. If you are buying multiple items you don't notice until you get home and check the receipt. Eg: last week, Yeo Greek style yoghurt, shelf price £1.25 charged £1.95, last night Actimel Plus, prominent signage saying these are on offer at £2.50, charged £3.85 at till. I am on a budget and would never have bought these items had I known that I would be charged prices around 50% higher than the shelf price - very misleading to do this to customers.

I have stopped shopping in Asda Galashiels since they installed the glass doors on all the cabinets. I cant see to make my selection and it makes my shopping experience frustrating.

Every single piece of produce out of this store has been rotten when cut into since the end of May. Absolutely joke. Teach the managers how to store it properly. Grim

Absolutely disgusting Asda Galashiels sent out a 800g loaf of bread out to my elderly parents with one day left on the sell buy date where it's usually 4-6 days, Asda need to have a serious word with some not all of their personal shoppers before someone receives a out of date item and reports Asda to the food standards Agency. Hi Hope, Unfortunately as it states on Asda Galashiels Superstore there is no function for messaging customer services and twitter is exactly the same, supermarkets had a freshness policy on buying online yet some of your employees do not adhere to this and send out items that you are unable to sell in store which will eventually lead to them sending out of date products to the elderly and disabled which someone will receive and duly report to the food standards agency who take a very dim view of such practices. I always have a good experience in Asda, i usually get what I’m in for, I prefer it to Tesco.

This Asda is really good. I love going to it, staff friendly. And good choice for a lot of stuff

Helpful, cheery staff. One staff member who's name was Innis, stood out to me significantly. He always has a smile on his face when my family does weekly shopping and always happy to help.

Got food for my brother at Asda cafe and they gave us a ham sandwich with mouldy bread didn't realize till my brother gave me the crust to eat so we have no idea how much mold he had eaten he's three btw

Arrived at asda cafe no one was in the queue Wait close to 10 minutes in front of the shop nobody there...when stuff call Robert arrived start serving me , half way start serving another costumer, stop serving me ignoring my order , I ask why you serving another people when I'm first in queue? Start shouting at me been rude , I request the manager listen the stuff swearing at the back ...over charging what a disgusting quality service

Open more checkouts. I will never self serve. Just been back in today Saturday afternoon. Two tills open and queues. The brainbox supervisor puts up till closing sign meaning one till out of the ten or so with one guy on. The staff are all tornfaced. You really need to get this sorted even Aldi are faster than you now. The supervisor in question turned away a disabled old lady who had started to unload her shopping onto the conveyor who then had to reload her trolley. She turned out to be the mum of the only guy that was serving on the till.

My friend and her friend went to Asda cafe on New Year's Eve 2022 and decided to get the kids chicken nuggets. When we received both meals there were only 3 chicken nuggets when there should've been 4!!! Not impressed I got sent a photo of the proof also. Don't have a nice day. Sincerely, John

Staff were great produce OK, I have seen price increases since Asda was sold by the Wallmart group to the Indians, disappointing.

Always had good experiences here. Such a wide and diverse variety of products and produce that I can always find something new to try, and something to sate my hunger and or thirst for whatever I need at the time. Great prices and always reliable.

Large superstore, good range of stuff, staff I’ve found can be a little unhelpful but people be people, petrol station is good, usually not too bad a price, like the fact it’s all pay at pump with the petrol station as it means I don’t have to interact with anyone. It has a cafe no clue what it’s like. Can confirm it’s an ASDA.

My toasty was cold and uncooked. The service was uncanny. The people were welcoming. But I wouldn’t trust them with MY eggs.

I blocked the toilet in Asda's last summer whilst visiting during a bus trip to galashiels, the staff were very friendly and helpful and quickly delt with my elephant size dump, sending it of on it's merry way to the coast.my god that smell was horrendous as it was last night's kebab and chips. But the toilet attendants were so polite and professional, that they only were sick once, would definitely be back there for a dump😁👍💩 such a clean shop

Used to praise Asda for their choice, product freshness and staff helpfulness, but the last three or four times I’ve been in, a lot of their products on the shelves are out of date. I’ve actually handed products to staff which have been a couple of days out of date but still on the shelf. The latest product was a pack of potato and neep which I got yesterday for my daughter. Have just had a text from her to say use by date is 23rd. That’s a day before I purchased it. I will be checking dates very closely from now on and reporting all to staff. I’m very disappointed Asda, your standards are going downhill very quickly.

Dishonest staff at galashiels sent me on a wild goose chase to reclaim an item I had purchased but left at checkout. When I returned to store to reclaim with reciept I was told different things and it was not recorded in their book so couldn't help and made to look like I was being dishonest, staff either too lazy to record or liars as i am neither. Was a regular customer but will do weekly shop somewhere else now.

This store must have the worst rolls in the town. Although the dates are OK the actual product is verging on being stale. Hard, Very Dry and when you cut them open they fall to pieces. Don't know what's happened to their bakery as it used to be good. Part-baked Doughnuts are also very poor. I think they need to up-skill their team and concentrate on making fresh products Sort it out please ASDA

Went to the cafe in asda Galashiels and when we ordered all day brunch to be told we don't have any bacon as we only have enough for tomorrow's breakfasts!!!! The colleague was not very helpful and struggled to lift his head out of his paperwork!! Poor customer service.

Good big store with everything under one roof. Good parking/disabled places with no charges which is always a bonus. Adhere to covid restrictions. Staff always helpful and friendly. I enjoy shopping here.

One of a large chain of supermarkets, Asda is well known for reasonable prices. The Galashiels store is large and stocks a comprehensive range of products including food, clothing, toys, garden equipment, beer and spirits. Being in Scotland you can only purchase alcoholic drinks after 10am. There is a large accessible car park and petrol station. There is a drive through click and collect area in the car park well away from the main shop.

Very competitive to the Tesco "across the road" from it. I prefer going here for their clearance selection. You can't beat their custom pizzas as well.

I done a order to be delivered on Saturday 13th February 2021in between 9pm and 10pm and it never got delivered and then called the help line and was told it would be delivered Sunday 13th February 2021 in the morning and called again to ask where my shopping was to be told it is never coming then told on a chat with asda that iam not getting a refund as it was not delivered but they cancelled my shopping and never gave me a reason why it was cancelled and iam a single mum with three kids the little one is 1 years old so needed the milk nappies and wipes for her now I have to wait and see if I can get my money back to do a shop elsewhere as I do not trust asda anymore

As we safely (in accordance with government guidelines).. We firstly stopped in the cafe my brother had the all day brunch with coffee, I ate cheese & tomato toastie, the all day brunch looked supeb, I wish I had ordered it as it was cooked to order it came out beautifully cooked & with a side of chips (if it wasn't large enough already).. I have never in my life seen a cheese & ham toastie like that ever & I have eaten a few in my time the cheese was on the outer side of the bread & the tomato was like the sauce you get on a pizza with the cried mixed herbs included, along with a can of lemonade, I won't be having that again, the herbs were sprinkled over the sauce the cheese has burned, I was glad to have had a small portion of chips along with the fore mentioned toastie, which I'm thinking went to be recycled into animal feed, or I feel I should apologise now but can't if it went to land fill, though the staff were excellent with hygiene situation they were spot on & we felt really safe, so 5Stars to the staff & a Massive Thank You for keeping the Customers safe, Downstairs to do the shop I still find it slightly uncomfortable how staff in neither cafe or shop wear masks, I feel if we wear them it's only fair it's reciprocated, there is a one way system in place (which is great) & also a great selection& well stocked shop, there are screens up which are kept well sanitised with hand gel stations throughout the store, I felt extremely safe hygiene wise in Asda Galashiels & would use this site again only i'd keep away from your toasties... ( I would maybe consider finding another supplier one who doesn't deconstruct it & use real tomatoes without dried herbs & puts cheese between the bread, See you soon & Thank you everyone for keeping us safe & well 😀😀😀

Just left this store. The grey haired man serving on the lottery counter could not be any more rude to customers if he tried. This guy should not be working in a public facing role. Thankfully theres Tesco straight across the way from this shop so I'll probably start shopping there now on account of this experience.

I required to do a very large shop for a food bank and when I arrived at the checkout Mel and Evelyn could not have been more helpful. They even pushed the heavy trolley out to the car park for me. I think they both deserve a bonus!!

Do not shop there, last 3 visits all having a misprice. The person who's name rhymes with pain on the customer service desk is the type of person to make your visit about as enjoyable as a funeral.

What I was able to eat was nice. But the bottom of my lasagne was hard and burnt. Also tried to get hot chocolate but the machine broke and was dirty. No clean forks available either.

Shop floor easy to find stuff. But avoid the cafe took 30 mins for food to come out and there was hardly anyone sitting down I ordered the chicken dinner.. must of been sat on hot plate for hrs as it came out so hard and dry. Had to leave most of it

Visited today, hot chocolate was totally undrinkable, spoke to staff member who said , yes we know, they have changed brand, no refund offered, chips were hard, burger was tasteless and dry, totally unacceptable, won't be back

Had a bad experience in Asda on Sunday. Stood at the fish counter for over 5 minutes while the only person covering fish and butcher was at the butcher counter. After 5 mins and watching more people approach the butcher counter and get served I asked if anyone was serving the fish counter. I got extremely annoyed when a member of staff ,not the lady on the butcher counter, said, patience' . I went and shopped in Tesco instead!!

Went to cafe with my partner and daughter. Ordered our food which was going to take at least 10 mins to cook. So we sat down waited 15 mins a other few people just came into cafe sat down at there table 1 minute after that our food comes out she calls our number and they other people put there hand up with the totaly different number to us that Ur colleague can clearly see but still insists on putting it down on front off them just before they start sticking i shout over saying that's our food she brought it over to us placed it down absolute no apology giving to us which is really dissapointing tbh. But as soon as they other people get there good your colleagues are all apologetic to them but not us come on where is the service as we just about lost out on our tea as your colleages are not paying attention. I will mot be back as this is shocking service really not happy. This is Saturday 4th May 2019 at 12 noon. The person on the till is rude and a really bad worker she has no clue at all

Honestly never tasted anything so awful. I don't like leaving negative reviews but I'll make an exception on this occasion. Ordered veg soup. Looked nice and thick and chunky! However, was so glutinous and tasteless I couldn't eat it. I ordered a children's meal.. pizza pie? Really? A round piece of thick pizza dough with a tiny thin spread of tomatoes and invisable cheese, chips were ok apart from a couple of raw chips and the beans.. I have no words!!! Thick overcooked beans with no sauce to them. My granddaughter hardly ate any of it. So whilst a cheap meal.. it was a meal we couldn't eat so may aswell have given the money away. So so disappointing asda.. would not recommend eating here at all.

Was in the cafe here yesterday and went to order the lady told us there were no sandwiches and we had a choice of three hot things so we ordered for the choses to then see her cook the stuff in a microwave so we we pay 21 pound for what was the worst food we have ever some of the food was burnt with lying about so long the lady then charged me again for chips for my son which I had already ordered but was told she hadn't heard me on arrival and the potion sizes wouldn't even feed my 2 year old so we finished our rashings and went shopping so got everything we needed only to discover this morning that the chicken tikka I had got for my sandwiches to day was 4 days out of date and this was straight off the shelf maybe I should have checked before I bought it but don't expect this sort of mistake for a big store like asda this has totally put me off here and will be using tesco across from here from now on

The cafe is a joke everytime we seem to come here on the passing to visit family never ever got much food left at all the chips you get are well over cooked and burnt never ever a good variety of food would not recommend this place to anyone it's a shambles they bloody microwave the food if I wanted microwave food I would go down to asda fridge or freezer and buy my own stuff and microwave it myself.

I would have given more stars, but the cafe really doe's let this store down. I have been to the cafe on three seperate occasions last year and it is pretty grim, dim lighting, depressing chairs & tables, having to wait ages in a line to be served, unmotivated staff. A previous reviewer said it was like a military mess hall, that is pretty accurate! However, the store itself is fine, well laid out, staff are friendly and will go the extra mile to help you - in particular the staff at the photography department.

I took the family out for lunch on Saturday, cafe was so busy we couldn’t get a seat for 10 mins Once we got our seats it was fantastic. Service was fast, great timing on lunch with it being cooked fresh 2 half chickens, lasagne, steak pie plus 2 kids nuggets Very good value for money Thanks again guys

The member of staff that served my husband and myself clearly said was checking the box that the toy we where buying in case we had put something in it we took it she ment we where thieves we work the same as everyone else and pay for what we purchase we will never shop in asda again

Large well-appointed superstore with large choice and good staff. So why just 3 points? Because I shop at the Berwick-upon-Tweed branch of Asda too - a much smaller store but substantially cheaper across a wide range of goods, especially alcohol-related. If I'm in Galashiels I do shop here - it's still better than the rest imho. But given the choice, I head for the Border.

Cafe very quiet at lunctime it felt like a military mess, get them in, feed them and get them out. Cafe was large and maybe have a bit more warmth and personality when busy. Cooked food took far too long to be cooked and delivered even though it was so quiet. Much better places around to have lunch!

Went for a quick lunch but never happened. Was waiting for 5min to for service, order taken by young girl who was very nice and was trying her best to give good customer service but was trying to do so many things at the one time. Very clearly the Manager onsite is not leading or training staff. I had to cancel order as found the dish had nuts in it. When I asked about the dish having nuts knowone could tell me to start with, a number of books later I was hand a ingredients list for the dish, then found it had nuts. Said to cancel the order and refund my money. Was told to go to customer services. When I was at customer services I said to the member of staff the joke the cafe was, she they know and it brings the store down and that they get lots of complaints about it. She told me it was a outside company that runs it. Won't go to the cafe next time but shop was clean and well presented.

We popped in for lunch the other day, what a difference in product quality and service. The food was excellent, although it takes a bit longer for food to come out, the staff make sure it is great quality instead of a typical cafe chucking things out at you. Coffee is SBC which is Starbucks but as Asda prices so cannot complain. I will be back weekly, can’t wait for the burgers to come back on the new menu Well done Galasheils

They have a DELI, FISHMONGERS, MEAT & TAKEAWAY COUNTERS where you can have pizza of your choice made up based size & thickness too! They also serve hot chicken & other takeaway. CAFE is located on 1st floor & is accessible for wheelchair/scooter users via the lift. The whole of the store has wide aisles & can readily recieve prams wheelchair scooter users. FACILITIES IN STORE SCOOTERS, PASSPORT PHOTOS/ PHOTOGRAPHIC APPLICATION PHOTOS, BABY CHANGE/DISABLED TOILETS OTHER TOILETS. STAFF are really good with helping you if you ask👍

Used to use this place a lot a while back. Now very average in deed. Panini cold, my lasagne ok.... just. Serving staff member, surly and unwelcoming, also picked up my cup with finger and thumb, the finger being inside the cup! Won’t go back.

Good selection of food. Free car parking. Can be busy on a Friday and over the weekend. The store is open 24/7 which is very handy.

Most things under one roof. Friendly and helpful staff. Disappointed that you are unable to buy single tomatoes or just a few loose mushrooms as often buying pre packed are wasted as there are only two of us and we don't need large quantities.

20/11/17. I went for a breakfast at 11:30, the service from the person that dealt with me was appalling to top that breakfast I received looked and tasted like it had been dipped in oil for the whole cooking process. I will never eat here again. Warning, only eat here if you want dysentery issues.

Had breakfast here this morning. Served by a friendly and efficient man who cheered us up and couldn't be more helpful. I had the omelette, mushrooms and baked beans and my husband had a full breakfast. Each plate arrived good and hot and well presented. Tasty food eaten sat watching the quiet store early this morning. Well done all the staff. x

Recently spent an overnight at Kingsknowes Hotel with my husband and. 2 best friends.Can not recommend it highly enough. Hotel dates back to the 1800s and has lots of the original artefacts . Absolutely fascinating to walk round the hotel and gain a glimpse of the past.The bedroom was enormous and the bed was so comfortable! The bathroom was very modern . Our meal at night was first class and to top it all a few local musicians played various instruments to entertain the guests. This happens every Wednesday night. All the staff in the hotel were friendly and informative. We will be back and hope this review encourages others to visit this fantastic unique hotel !
