We were in the neighbourhood today and decided to try this asda for the first time. We used scan and go and were pleased with the selection of produce the store had. We found everything we needed, and more. However, when we went to pay, the scan and go device did not work (the touch screen would not respond, and our shopping could not be transferred). The Asda member of staff minding the scan and go tills was very apologetic and offered to help scan our shopping on a self checkout. We were pleasantly surprised by her customer service (in other shops, when this happens, they just send you to scan everything yourself or to a manned checkout). I did not catch her name, unfortunately, but she is an asset to asda. We will definitely come back thanks to this great experience.

The service at this store is becoming ridiculous. I popped into the store quickly around 8pm in the evening to buy some milk for my young child. I asked the woman on the self service checkout for a carrier bag, politely. She was too busy gossiping with her colleague, to which she then walked straight past me, upon her going to walk back past me, I asked her for a carrier bag again, she proceeded to take her time scanning the bag, and then as I reached out to take it, she placed it on the scales. In which I had to pick it up to open the bag and the machine starts shouting about the bagging area due to the fluctuating weight, I said to the woman “thank you, but I could scan the bag myself” given she took her time doing so to begin with. She proceeded to speak through to security saying “woman on self check out being extremely abusive over being given a carrier bag” this was nothing more than an attempt at trying to provoke a reaction out of a woman on her own with two children. This Asda colleague then proceeded to walk back and forth past me while looking over my shoulder. Completely uncalled for. While Asda want colleagues to scan bags maybe they should be given a crash course in customer service and also the fact that after scanning surly the bag can be passed to the customer so they’re able to open it for their shopping.

Hot food stand inside the store is convenient but the stink of weed from the homeless beggars outside is most inconvenient. Multiple times I have experienced cardboard in shelves rather than stock I was interested in. Some of the male staff sure enjoy chatting up female staff when you try to approach them they don't look too pleased about helping you. It would be helpful if staff took the time to check the floors for clothing so folks don't trip or get trolley wheel stuck to the clothes.

Visited asda Manchester Eastlands opposite man city ground cafe ordered two £1 children's meals for my kids my daughter tried hers and didn't like it so rather than waste I decided to eat it it when a rude member of staff cleaning the tables said I should not be eating a child's meal and I should have to pay full price and get adults meal! Before I had chance to explain she said very loudly and rudely I would be refused to be served by her again in the future if I try to purchase a kids meal, everyone heard and was looking I explaind as she looked at my son and said they have to be under 16 as well as which he is 12 but she trying to say he was old my son who is autistic was eating but then had a melt down due to this horrible rude member of staff she stated the rules regarding children meal are on the menu and I should read them! which i later check and they weren't . How dare a member of staff SPK to me and my children like this I came to feed my children not to be embarrassed and spoken to in this manner!! Disscusting! To berate a customer in front of other people as well. Tried to complain via Asda site but need a receipt and wasn't given one so reviewed on here.

Booked a click and collect slot between 3.30-4, arrived at 3.40, hadn't been picked. Sat there like an idiot until 4.30 when I got my items dumped by the car and the young lad went back inside and shut the door. I had a number of subs and missing items (which I couldn't check because I wasn't given a receipt or emailed one until after I'd left) and couldn't even ask for help as there was literally not one person about. Had to take them home and request a refund instead. The number of subs (7) and unavailable items (9) are beyond a joke, I won't shop here again.

I’ve always been a fan of this store and for me it’s the best supermarket in Tameside. The store itself is quite large and sells everything from George clothing to a car air freshener. The store has a bakery and the pizzas they make are exceptional. The isles are well stocked with goods and I’ve always found the staff to be extremely helpful and polite. The supermarket has a very large car park which is easy to get in and out of as well as a Petrol station near to the car park entrance. The store used to be a 24hr store which was brilliant for quiet late night shopping but since Covid, it now shuts at midnight.

Warning about Asda Awards. The customer isn't always right, apparently. Always shopped at Asda for main shop. Rarely had any problems. But today I was annoyed. I had £86 on my Asda Awards. Bought alcahol and gift vouchers. Went to till. Lady on till scanned it all in. Value £96. I asked how to pay for some of it with my Asds Awards. The lady on the till kindly did it for me on my phone. Created a voucher for £85. Then tried to scan it and it said invalid voucher. Went through the whole rigmarole of rescanning and calling supervisor over. Then had to go to customer service till. There I was told that I couldn't.pay for gift vouchers with my Awards. . And I couldn't pay for my shopping because it didn't amount to the £85 that the Awards voucher was for.. So I had to pay on my card. And I didn't want to use my card. Even though the woman on the till had told me to do it. I was angry because I had been advised by your staff and now its cost me money I couldn't afford to spend. Next time.I'll stick to morrisons for my wine So much for LOYALTY CARDS.

I did not have a good experience. Firstly all the chilled snack aisle was empty. The home/kitchen selection was also bare. Bins overflowing as security guards sit on their phone. The rewards app is where it all went wrong Mr/Ms Asda. Having to sign in at the till is highly stressful. Why does it keep doing that? Not only that but if you have to then reset your password you have to call the helpline which is not open in the evening. Also not being able to reclaim points that may have been missed because of these issues is enough to make me stop shopping here. Why would you not allow people to claim their rewards at a later date? Bad customer service if you ask me. Anyway.. the member of staff Hazel was brilliant. And your plant based coleslaw is great too.

It's amazing how fast a store like Asda can go downhill so fast. Store is looking like a little tatty, aisles are depressing and range of goods looking decidedly sad. Products in the bakery and cooked meats departments particularly are of a decidedly reduced standard to previous ranges. Cafe disappointing and toilets were in a very poor condition. Beggars outside entrance also not a very good introduction to a shopping visit. Other supermarkets in Ashton/Stalybridge area offer a far better experience.

Customers are allowed to scan their own bags when requiring one, when buying shopping and a bag....the store itself is neither overly busy and it's not weekend.....so if someone has gone to the honesty in scanning and willing to go to the effort of paying for all other items. I'm sure that they have the ability and morale about them to scan a bag too Having spoken to customer services about it and security today. They are of the belief that a customer can be trusted to buy a bag (30p) please ensure the lady on self service at 2.40pm Thurs 29/06/23 knows this and doesn't lie to customers saying it's an ASDA policy.....because it's not been highlighted nationwide if this is the case and not all staff are aware of it. Meaning it's not a policy at all. I had to go up and down following this member of staff because she wanted to scan my bag in herself and was busy dealing with other things at the time as there had been a spillage of eggs on one of the repos terminals. Just because a customer is wearing a hoodie, doesn't mean they don't have the funds to buy a bag or morals to pay for one either.....that's why this store has bad reviews, staff!!!!

They only have 5 check outs that are staffed all the rest are self serve so if you have a trolley full then prepare to stand in line for 30 mins or go queue at the self serve for 30 mins and struggle with some where to place your scanned shopping while looking for the 1 assistant to help with a problem while they are dealing with the other 20 problems. Absolute hayhem in there Saturday morning. Very expensive, always empty shelves and they keep replacing branded products with there own brand with no option to buy the branded items. They are scamming people into buying asda products at the same of higher price than a branded product. You can actually find product cheaper in sainsbury's and that is saying something. The veg is never fresh and does not last much fresher in lidl which is across the road. Dates on dairy products are always very short compared to competitors. There are also a lot of items subject to shrinkflation (look it up) Pack of 4 onions is now a pack of 3 onions for the same price. The so called offers are not offers be careful and do the maths a 1kilo of butter could be cheaper if you buy 2 500gram packs of the same even though the large one is on so called offer. The fact they have taken so many tills away and added the scan your own system is stupid, they are forcing there customers to do the work and this puts people out of work. Update. Called in Asda Ashton today AM, it was discusting the amount of empty card board boxes/trays that were on the shelfs and floor there was more empty than full it is a disgrace and an accident waiting to happen some poor person will fall because of the mess. Asdas poor attempt at making the shelfs look full. Most recent Asda scam advertise items as £1 but on the shelf they range from £3, the £1 item is on the bottom shelf very deceiving. See photo. So Asda are removing all the manned check out from there stores Ashton is a pilot store for this, today they had only 5 left you are expected to use the self check out with a full shopping trolly. The queues were up the isles. Self check out tills were mayhem. If it stays this way I will not shop here.Frozen produce left in isle

So this is a lot of details to this story but imma try to keep it short. For the last few years I’ve made an enemy out of 2 security guards for stupid reasons. They took a disliking to me. I came in the store with a friend on Halloween day and my friend needed to go up the toilets and I ended up being stood outside and the male security guard was passing and I decided that because it’s be a long time that I would smile and let on to him. He completely ignored me. He then called me a slag. I got it on camera actually. I always have my camera ready in case of trouble. As I always get trouble from somebody every time I go out. My friend came out and he was there. I didn’t even hear the security guy call me a slag so I said come on (I could hear the security man going on with himself calling me names but I couldn’t hear and I told my friend let’s go and ignore him) When we got to the cafe I took a seat whilst my friend ordered. Next thing I know another security guard, a woman, came barrelling at me and he started shouting at me and accusing me of insulting the security man. She then told the cafe staff not to serve me and escorted me out of the store. I didn’t know what to say. I didn’t know the guy had called me a slag so I didn’t say anything. My friend heard it and didn’t tell me until after we left and it was too late. I was furious. Anyway I thought I was banned from the whole shop but I’ve been there a few times since. Luckily they weren’t there and the other security guards were friendly. I attempted going to the cafe and they told me I was barred. They didn’t even know why. I used to go to the cafe to eat on a regular basis before going shopping and have been a loyal customer for many years. I can’t believe they’d rather lose custom and extra money over a stupid incident where I was the one who was insulted. I feel I was ganged up on by those security guards like they were children bullies in a school yard who’d taken a hating to some weaker innocent kid. Tried speaking to the manager on the phone and the phone operator told me he’d email the manager and then they’d get in touch with me. It’s now been about 2 weeks and I’ve not heard back. Very angry. I will take this down if it gets resolved but until then my complaint still stands

Shocking availability, I know Asda always has loads of shelves empty but I thought we were back to Covid panic buying seeing the bare store. Won't be back.

It's just asda. However The amount of goods on the shelf was frankly pitiful. It could be housed in much less space. Goods spread out to make it look full. Many fridges and freezers empty, but still turned on, shameful waste of energy, turn off those not in use, save yourselves money and allow cheaper pricing to customers.

This store is an accident waiting to happen will follow up with photos of the sheer amount of discarded packaging All Over the store, mountains of stock left dangerous and unsecure, stock left over 6ft high blocking fresh counters, shrink wrap rolls in the middle of isles. Where I fully understand restocking surely it's got to be done safety and efficiently!! There will be a serious accident or death in this store mark my words.

Place looks clean and tidy. I had the Full English breakfast with coffee. I found the the beans to be very dry, along with the sausage was very rubber like dry. The had brown was not eatable, rock hard and dry. If I was to go back it'll be only for the toast and coffee. Also they serve food on plastic cutlery. The staff also lack initiative and the manager is as useful as a chocolate teapot.

I have several times queried a price discrepancy in this store, for the same item each time, and the issue was still ongoing as of today. Young man, one of the floor walkers with headset, didn't crack a smile or apologise when I mentioned it, and said he'd sort it out as he flounced off. Another lady with headset a week ago said, with a dismissive air, that she'd deal with it. I knew she wouldn't as she barely even looked at the product. Today a checkout operator had to change the price and she was as rude as she ever is (Shar___) Customer Services are usually very good; have been there several times to get refunds due to being overcharged!

Was 24 hours randomly changed. Apparently cigarettes can only be bought before 10pm. So total waste of a journey. Had 25 minutes to shop and no cigarettes.

The store is dark and dingy. Fresh good are sold loose with not even paper bags to put them in. Toilets are broken and filthy. Deliberately keep the manned registers minimally staffed to force you to use the self checkout, but don't reduce the price for doing their job. I'd complain to the company, but not even their feedback form on their website works. You get what you pay for. Not much.
