Arkles Liverpool in Liverpool

It simply makes no sense to be a Liverpool FC fan who has gone to Anfield but have not visited the World's Famous Arkle pub! What an amazing place! Just what an amazing place! Great selection of beers, with focus on the locally-made Arkles ale! The pre and post-match atmosphere is something to experience in absolute awe! So thankful to have been there. Would dare say that the game would never have been the same without the Arkles "cherry" on the top of the day!

Lovely atmosphere every time I have a drink there! Staff are lovely and friendly the locals that drink there make what is a good venue to visit an even better place. Will definitely be making it my to go boozer

Unfortunately it was already 11:00 p.m. on Saturday evening and there was no more serving, even though it was listed until 12:00 a.m. ... Unfortunately the toilets are in a dilapidated condition. At 11:20 p.m. the music was turned off. Very unfortunate.

Good option for a pre match beer, prior to Everton, as rammed for Liverpool games!

This pub is a very short distance from Anfield football ground, home to the legendary Liverpool football club. The atmosphere on match day is obviously excellent, as it is packed full of fans in high spirits, especially with the very positive results the local team has been enjoying. This club is actually a global enterprise, inspiring football fans all around the world, and generating a loyal global fan base in the process. Testimony to this is the huge range of football supporter club scarves adorned on the walls behind the bar. Most games, you will find a small group of international supporters in Arkles, in some cases having made a huge journey to catch a glimpse of their heroes and savour the iconic Anfield atmosphere. A very good spot pre and post match to get in the mood and keep the vibe going. Enjoy. Can also bring takeaway from next door.

Awful experience! I went after the Lpl v Ipswich match to meet my partner at 7 pm, he had been to the game. Had a pint in a plastic cups as it was busy I didn't mind it. The singer came on who was terrible and the pub started to empty because of it. I bought a pint and a glass of wine thankfully in glass. I went back around 8:30 and ordered 2 glasses of wine. The barman poured them into wine glasses I was about to pay and this woman came along and threw them into plastic pint cups. I had taken my 2 glasses back to the bar which I showed her. I said to her "how rude are you? I don't want to drink wine out of these plastic pint cups".She became abusive to me. I paid for the drinks and gave my tip to the barman as he was obviously mortified and didn't want him to feel worse. We finished our drinks and left around 9. As I left I asked who she was, her name was Kelsey and apparently the team leader. I live local and have an Airbnb. I will in future never recommend this pub. Owner before replying to this review please ask your staff how she is or leads, without her presence. Or check your CCTV if you have it.

I had an amazing experience at [Arkles]! The atmosphere was lively, and the drinks were cool 🧊…. What really stood out was the exceptional service from the staff called Paul!! He treated me with kindness and made sure I had everything I needed. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy a great drinks in a welcoming environment!

Came here for a drink with my friends on match day the atmosphere was good and so were the staff met the bartender Paul who was lovely and give us great service

Pub, Anfield Road, within sight of the stadium. Large and yet very cozy and familiar! Very friendly and fast service! There is good food next door and you can also eat it in the pub. I always enjoy coming here!

We had a booking and we were going to see Liverpool vs Real Madrid and we were 15 minutes late we were not aloud to go inside a Staff member screamed at us and got verry angry.we came from texas horrible experience

Went just before a game. Fantastic atmosphere, both home and away fans were in there all enjoying and soaking up the atmosphere.

Travelled from Doncaster to watch Rovers v Everton. The staff were very welcoming and attentive throughout our visit. Even allowed us to bring food in from the Chippy next door, as no food on offer here. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Anfield or Goodison Park. Good Non Alcoholic selection for those, like myself, who are driving.

Excellent bar near Anfield. Beer and drink specials and scarves from supporters clubs around the world. No food but a great atmosphere.

Everyone is super friendly. We've been twice now with our little Yorkshire Terrier Sky. Everyone makes a fuss over Sky and she loves it. The only down side is that they don't do food.

Was visiting Anfield last night for Pink.. went in here, after the security said I will let you in but you need a stamp and can only get a stamp if you donate to charity (box in hand) we both only brought our bank cards !! We bought 2 pints I asked for peroni and coors they came from peroni and coors pumps but both tasted the same and definitely not the beer we ordered!!! We stood outside and when we went to go back in to buy another drink we where stopped !! No you don't have a stamp..you have to put money in the box we clearly explained we don't have cash but he was having none of it a girl came up and put 2p in tge box and she was let in ...absolutely disgusting when most people carry card at these events for safety .. so you lost my custom for a charity box when the charity actually only gets 10% of it anyway !! All this business was interested in was passing off cheap beer at premium prices ..I will avoid all pubs around Anfield in future

No food served as cafe next door. This is the famous Arkles as it’s right next to the Liverpool Ground. Very friendly & lots on from Quizzes to a small craft fair by locals once a month. You’ll definitely get a warm welcome 😊

Went to watch a Liverpool home game and have a pint but wasn’t allowed in by a doorman eating chips, no explanation as to why. We were sober and respectful. The place was open and people were already inside but they kept the door closed. It wasn’t even a quarter full either!! Will never darken their doorway again and will advise others not to also.

No food... Or maybe because it is matchday so no food? Not sure but they allow us to bring food inside. Nice 😎 Didn't manage to take photos that I can really share here. The sign outside says WORLD FAMOUS BAR? Staff were amazing and even the patrons were great too. I think this is truly a LOCAL Bar and I'm glad we came here. I cannot believe that we were the loudest most of the game. LoL!

Racially abused as Americans… got told from the bartender to “kiss my yankee a**”! Unbelievable. I’ve been at this pub multiple times before with no problem. This made me very sad.

This pub is just up the road from me and normally it's quite quiet during the day. This all changes on match day when Liverpool are playing at home as this is situated on the corner of Anfield Road and Arkles Lane. This pub suddenly became the centre of the universe for Liverpool supporters. I couldn't tell you how many people are in the pub, but I assume it's usually most of the Kop. They do very good business and they are well practiced in serving you as fast as possible. Good service and a good range of beers.

Visited the Arkles before the LFC vs CPFC match, for the first time. What a fantastic pub! It was packed out with both home and away fans, and the atmosphere was really fun and friendly. The bar staff were lovely, too. It was so nice we went back again after the match and stayed to watch more footy on TV. Highly recommended!

Paul and his team were fantastic and friendly. We spent a week at Anfield and quickly realized that the Arkles was the place to be for games, a good drink and connecting with other fans/non-fans. Regardless of how busy the Pub got, the Guinness was on tap, the crowd was friendly and good times were had... shame we could not stay longer. Thanks Paul... Your Toronto Fan Club!

Visited because stuck with broken down coach. More of a Liverpool shop than a pub. Dirty tables and average pint, I will not be back.

Most pubs around the football ground inflate their prices on match days, which is fine if you are prepared to pay a little extra for the pre match atmosphere. However, if you go any other time, you just feel ripped off. Above average prices for below average beer. I was drinking Guinness and can honestly say it was the worst I've tasted in a very long time. Either out of date barrel or dirty lines would be my guess.

Great pub for away day fans going to either Everton or Liverpool. Been here many times only thing I’ll say is it gets very busy on match day so recommend getting here early.

We came here before a tour of Anfield to watch England v Australia in the Women’s World Cup. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They don’t sell food there but they allow you to bring food in from some next door cafes and eat it in the pub. There are expected good options drinks wise. And for midday on a Wednesday, the atmosphere was quite good. I’m sure it’s incredibly popular and convenient on a match day given it’s location. The TV’s are a great size and I loved the Liverpool memorabilia! Sad I cannot visit it as much as I want to as I don’t live in the city. 5 fully deserved stars.

Go there every match day, great place to go

Wonderful pub for everyone, but especially LFC lovers. The owner - Paul is extremely welcoming and friendly, as well as the rest of the staff. The music is just perfect, so are the drinks. There’s a large variety of beer. Liverpool has my heart, not only because of LFC and the Beatles, but its people really amazed me with their kindness and warming spirit. Hopefully one day we’ll be back, until then.. walk on! 🤩

Best pub for West Ham away fans who are not Charlied up giving it large to the home fans. Good takeaway food options and great banter with the bindippers 😉 Not a big fan of tap beer, bottles are better.

Was in there as an away fan for Everton v Luton. Very friendly bar staff that were engaging and enjoyed the craic. There is a chippy and cafe next door that serves into the pub. I didn't use it, but a lot of other patrons did, and they all praised the food and service. It was a very enjoyable day topped off with 3 points!

I visited this pub right after the Anfield Stadium tour . It was during the coronation of King Charles and I have just attended it . It was nice having a pint while enjoying what I had just purchased at the stadium . I needed a pint and enjoy the friendly atmosphere. I’ll be back in April 2024 . Liverpool is worth it . Spent Saturday lunchtime in the pub, before watching Fulham play at goodison, everything good written about this pub is true, the staff are so welcoming, the atmosphere is great, a good selections of beer is available and the added bonus they let you bring your pie & chips in from next door as well, I hope we can use the pub in December again when Fulham play at anfield, hope you enjoyed the result yesterday as much as we did, thanks again COYWS 🤍🌩

The ARKLES pub is an old local of mine and has been improvements over the years and of course a match of the day pub for home and away supporters, with the forthcoming football season the area around ANFIELD will be crowded, reasonably priced alcohol and light refreshments 🍻🍻⚽️⚽️😁👍

Great Pub, had a night out with a couple of friends there last week and it was a cracking night, top class service and top class range of beverages. Top marks to the manager / owner and all his staff. Will be back
