3 Sutherland Road was once the Argyle Hotel and is reliably believed to have been important to the foundation of the football club. The name was removed several years ago but the history is well known locally. There are no signs or anything to suggest that it’s now anything other than a private house or flats. No hint of a beer garden or any licensed sales or public catering. Maybe someone’s knows more or there maybe some interesting project in hand or in limbo during the Covid complications.

It's a Costa, they're all the same. Friendly staff and nice and clean. Not much else to say.

Typically great brewdog atmosphere and like normal the bar staff have good music taste. Impressive guest drinks selection, and awesome food menu. Love the buffalo sauce they use here. Really do like the atmosphere. If the drinks were a little cheaper I’d sit and drink for hours.

Ordering a takeaway with my kids, you have nowhere to wait, then you get pushed out of the way by other customers, then when your order is ready, you can't get it. Because of the customers. And students 🤦🏻♂️ staff are awesome, super friendly.

Avoid at all costs. Unpleasant people who have no idea of a community pub. No care in the world other than themselves.

We booked for Sunday lunch at Mayflower Brasserie, and having attended a wedding at the hotel, were looking forward to our lunch. We had duck pate to start and it was lovely, but to be honest you can’t go wrong with a slice of toast, a dollop of pate, a spoonful of onion marmalade and a micro greens garnish. Very tasty. We waited 20 minutes for our main of beef wellington. Unfortunately we both had to send the food back as it was barely warm and not pleasant to eat. Another long wait and new plates arrived. They were warmer than the first but far from hot food. We ate it and it was very tasty. Then came deserts. We ordered apple tart with clotted cream. Unfortunately it came with ice cream instead of clotted cream. As if we needed more cold food! I removed the ice cream and ate the tart. It was delicious but very small. When we paid they had given us our drinks free to compensate for the cold mains, and discounted the price of the tarts to compensate for the serving error. Overall, I am disappointed with my Sunday lunch. Service was exceptional but the food was a let down. Cold, small portions, and not as described on the menu. Even with the discounts our bill was over £100 for the two of us! We went home and had a sausage sandwich as we both still felt hungry. Needless to say, We shan’t go again
