Called into the Cafe yesterday for a refreshment whilst cycling in the area, it was quite busy, and once we ordered our bacon roll and tea, sat an outdoor table, Best Bacon Roll for a long time, from a very busy chap working flat out behind the counter. It's a well done from us... Will certainly recommend to others and definately be back.

What a wholly disappointing experience - cold and really unchoclatey hot choc, cheese toasties that used burger cheese . It’s just not that difficult . Served on paper plates - that’s ok but to holler from the pass that they are ready then stack the plates up in a tower is just not that nice. We did it expect restaurant quality service in a wee cafe miles away but just buy real cheese. Staff were pleasant and everything just need to take more pride in the job

Passed the sign for Loch Thom off the M8 many times, since it was my birthday decided to explore!! VERY GLAD I did! After a windy single track road climb reached the Loch and it was so worth it! Scenery lovely but Cafe..AMAZING!! All home made stuff, scones huge, tasty, different flavours and warmed for you! BUT the STRAWBERRY TARTS!!! Yum Yum Yum defy true description, only taste does!! Small cafe and other amenities closed due to Covid, but the waitress, manageress, baker as it turned out was very helpful!! Great spot for fishermen, hikers, hill climbers, cyclists, all sorts!! Beautiful place to visit!! Best kept secret ever!! Had to buy some strawberry tarts to bring home, they were that good!! Well worth a visit!! We’ll definitely be back!!! ❤️❤️xx

Not fished in 20 years. Ticket for half day was £15 which is a great price. Staff in cafe where you buy ticket were very nice. Went fishing with an experienced friend we managed to catch 1 fish spinning and 3 using weight and bait. We lost 4 too. 2 due to my inexperience at reeling them in and 2 line breaks. Lovely place to pick as your end-point destination if you decide to take a walk at the Greenock-cut. Enjoyed a delicious hot barista grade coffee while enjoying winter sundown over the reservoir that houses the fishery. Tried their Mearns T.McCaskie's Angus steak burger and I could only advise anyone to the same. Decided to leave after having a long chat with the amiable owner who sent me of loaded with new places to visit all over Scotland. 100% recommended.

Not sure if this cafe has changed owners since I was last there, but went in this afternoon for a coffee. Firstly was greeted with a torn faced girl, who couldn't even say hello. She got my coffee, spilled it on way back to counter, never appologised, I then asked for an Empire biscuit, the next step needed to be seen to be believed, she ran her hand through her GREASY hair, then picked up the biscuit with the same bare hand and plonked that on the counter. I appologised for only having a £10 note, then she emptied the TIP BOX onto the counter and gave me all the change in small coins. It was like something out of a T.V.comedy sketch, but I certainly wasn't laughing Won't be back.

We walked around the Greenock Cut - a walk of around 10km. Right in the middle, unexpectedly, is the Ardgowan Trout Fishery cafe. Very welcoming atmosphere, dog friendly, and quality food. There's racoon dogs to see, chickens, trout, and a huge (but friendly!) dog that lives there called Siku, I think! They also have a beautiful aquarium. This really is an oasis in the desert. It's extremely isolated, but always warm, friendly and inviting, and just what you need when walking the Greenock cut. Food is top quality, coming from an award winning local butcher.

Lovely setting, great view, pleasant ambiance, but very noisy . Not aware of any music playing but voices seem to echo and really quite uncomfortable for quiet chat. Menu disappointed as more than half of items in starters and mains were spicy, curried or with chillies, which does not suit me and, I'm sure, many others. Short dessert menu but waffles were delicious. Wait staff polite and helpful, but food delivery very slow.

Recently had my sisters 40th birthday celebration in the courtyard at the exchange it was perfect in every way!! Thanks to Amy and her staff they were fantastic from start to finish! On arrival we had our signature cocktails waiting us (French martinis) The food was delicious and perfectly set up everyone commented how tasty and different it was for an evening buffet. I had book a saxophonist as a surprise so while we partied Amy took matters into her own hand and gave my sister the best surprise ever! What an amazing time we had! The night couldn’t have turn out any better! Would highly recommend the courtyard for any special occasion. Thanks again to Amy and all the staff at the exchange for a wonderful night to remember 🫶🏻

Just looks like your average local pub, seating area outside, to the back the view was amazing although I think tables for that area would need to be specifically booked. On entry we were seated at a small 2 seater table beside the reception desk which proved to be an inconvenience, we couldn't have a private conversation because the phone constantly rang (loudly) and of course the staff answered and took the bookings, while standing over us. Our table was clean, neibouring tables weren't but new customers alerted staff and the waitresses quickly remedied it Toilets were clean, no issues. Food. I ordered a chicken wrap and salad, chicken coujous rather than breast but edable, salad wasn't fresh, it was floopy brown lettuce was left at the side of my plate, Staff were friendly, Won't rush to return but wish them well
