Arden Tandoori in Stratford-on-Avon

Had high hopes. We had chicken shaslick ( very dry and flavour was like a tesco one ) tikka mossala ( chicken was ok flavour was coconut and bland ) naan bread nice, bombay potato was a tesco one again pretty much. Service was not friendly

We stumbled across Arden Tandoori by accident one evening by diverting around some blocked roads. Very glad that we did. This is now our destination Indian Restaurant in the area.. Visited again this week and the Food was as we have come to expect , excellent. We tend to order Vegetarian and Chicken dishes and it’s clear that the ingredients are of good quality ,beautifully cooked and well presented . All the Waiters are smart and extremely polite and the food is great value too.

Traditional Indian restaurant with a menu to suit all. Clean, modern and stylish. The staff are friendly, helpful and professional. Definitely worth a visit.

Food excellent as always but the visit was let down by the service which was slow and very disappointing . We felt as though we had to ask for everything and the welcome was lacking . In addition there was a permanent cold draught.

Second visit thus year while visiting friends ,another excellent meal,authentic taste and very friendly staff .The owner remembered us from April visit ,always a great sign of caring staff.

I only used the restaurant take away service but saw the restaurant which looked very inviting,nicely decorated, linen table cloths and neatly laid up. The staff were all very smartly dressed and pleasant/helpful. My takeaway was delicious

Best curry I've eaten in a restaurant outside Manchester curry mile. Not hot at all even with medium or hot dishes but full of flavour.

A large range of good, if Anglicised Indian foodstuffs with attentive service. A clean and pleasant restaurant, but on the expensive side. Parking is difficult as it is in most of Henley.

A longstanding excellent Indian restaurant with a huge choice of traditional and modern cuisine. Recommended.

I've visited this place three times (at least) in the last 2 years (and I live 100 miles away). It has, in my opinion, gone from strength to strength. The food is fresh, tasty, well-presented, and full of flavour. The staff are welcoming and helpful. The poppadoms are crispy. The naans are soft with a crisp base. Portions are quite generous. Would definitely recommend and hope to visit again soon! Menu is quite extensive too.

Having booked a table and arrived on time we were kept standing in the doorway area with about 10 other people for 20 minutes. Eventually we got our reserved table and had to wait another 20 minutes before anyone gave us menus. Had then to wait to order drinks. Eventually an hour after arriving at the restaurant our food order was taken. The popadoms were very greasy and the accompaniments very average. The prawn curry only had 3 large prawns in all with their long tails still on, most of the dish was sauce. The small quantity of meat in my lamb shashlik was very dry and masked with sauce, not at all good. All in all a very disappointing experience. Slow service, poor food and not the best ambience. Give it a miss. I certainly will not be back

We did not enjoy our meal here at all and for what we had it was very expensive. A curry that tasted just like the ones I make with a cook in sauce and very tough lamb chops . Won@t be going again.

Shared a mixed tandoori starter with spouse. Plenty for two of us. One Lamb Pathia and Chilli Chickn Masala, both lovely and very good portions (needed to bring a doggy bag home). Two rice and one nan. Both had a half pint of cider. Total bill came to £52 which I think is a lot, but perhaps out of touch.

This restaurant used to give real value for money. Due to recent price hikes, some more than 30% per item, I shall be finding an alternative supplier for my takeaways.

We came here with friends for the 1st time, and was a little disappointed with our curries.. the meat was chewy , so subsequently couldn't eat it all... service was OK thow..

Great food and warm, welcoming service. Everything from poppadoms to to mains were perfect well presented and delicious. Wonderful menu too, spoilt for choice.

Excellent meal. We reserved a table for 8pm and when we arrived it was very busy but we were seated and served promptly. Service was friendly and efficient, and the meal itself was excellent. Very impressed , and will definitely be returning .

The best Indian I've eaten in a long time. The restaurant is clean and well laid out. Staff are helpful and courteous. All the food was of outstanding quality and arrived quickly and at a good temperature. I will certainly visit when next in the area. Highly recommended 10/10.

We picked up this restaurant from “The Fork” online booking app, after we struggled to get a table in the hotel that we were staying at in Stratford upon Avon. The restaurant was super clean and the staff were friendly and attentive . The quality of the food was first class and good value. We are regular eaters of Asian cuisine and this was one of the best meals we’ve had! A really 5* experience and look forward our next visit

Food ok. Somethings were a bit bland. Staff pleasant apart from the one with glasses, very ignorant didnt even look at us when taking our order to busy looking everywhere else. We asked for mushroom bargi and got a mushroom balti. Probably wouldn't return mostly because of the service from that one man. He needs a new job!

Nice curries, terrible nan's. Ordered a take away yesterday evening. Lets start with the positives. Meal was ready as indicated when we phoned in order. Had onion bhajee and mixed kebab to start. Both lovely and . with plenty of salad, onions, and yoghurt dip....

Nice place pleasant staff, food was nice and went down well. although lacking some flavour that I have had before. It may be that I have been spoiled with some great Indian restaurants in Birmingham. The portions of the special nan seemed small, but was nice and tasty. The onion bajhi also tasted a little stale. Overall a nice pleasant place and reasonable food, although I will be comparing the other Indians Henley has to offer.

Hi I went there on Tuesday 14 Sept 2021 for my birthday, the food was beautiful and the management and staff were amazing.We were let down really badly at the end of the night by 2 taxi companies who kept saying our taxi was coming but we were waiting over a hour.The manager said he's son would give us a lift home and we were so grateful as we were stranded .Thank you so much it was well appreciated.

Terrible! They've given us 2 of the same main although we ordered 2 different ones. And certainly no taste of curry, more like slightly flavoured stew. No flavour in the veg rice either, just a bit of coloring. And worst garlic naan bread. More than half went in the bin. Won't be going back

Late night takeaway as was rushed for time, such a shame this place used to be lovely, seems they’re cutting corners with covid. Tasteless meal, uncooked sides. Sorry to say I will not be paying for food here again. Too hit and miss.

I have been having tarka dhal with my normal takeaway for number of years now. Tonight was historic, the best I have had outside of India.

The best curry I've had in a long time! A few beers in on a Saturday evening and a curry is suggested, a colleague suggests the Arden Tandoori! Food was faultless, my request for a chilli cheese & keema naan (which wasn't on the menu) was no problem to the staff! We shared a very pleasant bottle of wine from a fairly extensive wine list Great atmosphere, plenty of people eating and enjoying themselves even though it was quite late in the evening. Highly recommended, can't wait to go back! Following this first visit, we ordered a Sunday night takeaway a couple of weeks later. I'm very pleased to report that the takeaway meals were just as delicious! So pleased to have been introduced to the Arden Tandoori

This is a regular haunt for the family, when we are celebrating.The food and ambience was as good as always. The popadoms and chutneys are the best I have had, but you need to pace yourself as meal portions are large. We had a variety of curries, and everyone enjoyed theirs. Service was attentive and friendly. Price is slightly above average, but worth it.
