Staff picked up partners scone with their bare hands- no tongs, no gloves! My bacon sandwich was freezing cold!.... and by this i mean the bacon was so cold and chewy it was practically inedible. It was tough chewy and had obviously been sat for a long time. The margarine congealed and far too much on the roll. The bread bun was OK though. That's the best feedback I can give in this review- the bread bun was OK. Won't be back. Not cheap either.

As someone who works close by we were all excited to see a new cafe close to work however, after more than 1 visit over the last few months none of us are returning. The food is left out on the counter to go luke warm and shivered, had the worst coronation chicken ever tasted with sauce that resembled slime from a slug and NONE of the staff wash their hands and touch everything without gloves on. Plus the staff have long nail extensions and hair dangling into food. The food is crazy over priced and looking into the open kitchen, the word “fresh” or “clean” do not spring to mind.

Disgusting food and rude staff. My panini tasted off and the salad was slimy and my latte was lukewarm at best! Toilets were disgusting (not clean)

My husband and I had some lovely sandwiches at lunchtime I was very surprised at the amount of salad coleslaw and crisps were also on the plate …. I have just discovered that we paid an extra £3 per sandwich for the extras … very nice it was but the server never asked us if we wanted the sideshow they just assumed …. Not good , it was our first visit …. It won’t be our last but I will know for future visits !!!

I wish I knew it was there before. We came here mainly because it was spacious and would fit our prams. All of the tray bakes and food in general looks really nice. Everything was really clean. I also thought it was lovely that there were nappies in the baby change for those who may need one.

Had a lovely lunch at Arden’s Kitchen with family. Love the friendly atmosphere of the place, very relaxing. Couldn’t fault the staff, they are really friendly and dealt with our food intolerances exceptionally well 😊😊

It was our first-time visiting Arden's Kitchen as we saw it while passing by, and unfortunately, it left us with a negative impression. Upon arrival, we were hopeful to enjoy a coffee and a pleasant meal together. However, our hopes were quickly dashed when we observed the quality of the food on display. The food looked very stale and unappetising, resembling leftovers that had been sitting out for few days or more. The manager even remarked that the pizza looked like it had "seen better days" and immediately removed the pizza, which is not surprising. The potato wedges looked way too overcooked and dry. While my partner continued to browse the menu, I came back out from the bathroom, she asked if I wanted anything but she'd much rather go to a well-known bakery down the road instead. The manager had told my partner that the burgers were still good, however they were all wrapped in foil, you couldn't see it at all and she couldn't trust the quality at this point. We extended a courteous apology to the manager/owner for not proceeding with a purchase (obviously nothing is fresh, everything is stale) To our surprise, the manager's demeanour suddenly shifted, and made an offhand comment, warning us that the restroom was for customers only as we were leaving and started to tell us off like children and said “if everyone from next door and the surrounding area all used his toilets without paying first then they'd all be using his toilet throughout the day and it would be so busy full of people using his toilet so we should be paying and ordering something”. Wow. Really? Ok. While we understand the importance of maintaining facilities for paying customers, we found the remark very unnecessary, rude, unprofessional and unwelcoming, especially considering that it was our first visit to Arden's Kitchen. This is a clear indicative of a blatant disregard for basic courtesy and hospitality, and given how stale the food is looking (likely to give anyone food poisoning). It's a very poor customer service and offering especially in the likes of Gosforth. I understand that businesses may have their ups and downs, but the attitude displayed by the manager/owner left a lasting negative impression on us. Stale food, coupled with the dismissive and disrespectful attitude exhibited today, is nothing short of unacceptable. Whether it was due to a bad day or a decline in business, such behaviour is inexcusable. As a result of this experience, I cannot in good faith recommend Arden's Kitchen to anyone seeking a pleasant dining experience. In the future, I hope to see improvements in the quality of the food offerings and a more respectful and customer-centric approach to your "customer".

Been here many times now and every time I could not fault a thing! Staff are all so welcoming and can’t do enough for you, nothing is too much trouble. Big portions and great value for money! There is specials everyday from smash burgers, to Indian curry’s, to jacket potatoes. Everything is fresh and delicious! I will continue to return here, may even try the cocktails or alcoholic drinks next time

Visited for lunch today with family and friends. Staff very attentive and the cafe was clean, tidy. We ordered waffles with berries, a panini with salad and chips and a bacon and egg sandwich. All freshly prepared and cooked. It’s so nice to have home cooked waffles rather than bought in and just to take it up a level proper home cooked chips with the panini. There aren’t many cafes that serve those. All our food was extremely well presented, fairly quick in arriving considering it was freshly prepared and really tasty. Excellent value for money. We will be back. Thank you.

Lovely food and coffee. I had a panini from the specials board, being chorizo, cheese, chipotle mayo and sweet chilli which was lovely. My wife had baked potato with cheese and beans. Both came with salad, coleslaw and crisps. Then we shared a biscoff tray bake. Food was slightly pricey but it was good quality and portions were fair. It was quiet fro a Friday lunchtime, but the service was great as initially they said they had no jacket potatoes but the manager sorted one out for us. The main server was also very friendly

I recently decided to try the breakfast at Arden’s Kitchen in Gosforth, expecting a delightful start to my day. However, I was taken aback when I saw the price tag: £8.95 for a basic breakfast is simply exorbitant. In an area where many alternatives offer more reasonable rates, Arden’s Kitchen's pricing seems out of touch. I understand that prices can reflect location and establishment costs, but as a customer, I also weigh the value for money. Unfortunately, the price here did not meet the threshold for what I consider reasonable or competitive. For those considering Arden’s Kitchen for their morning meal, I would urge them to consider this: the breakfast pricing does not align with the local market rates. With many other local options providing equally satisfying breakfasts without the hefty price tag, it's hard to justify a return visit based solely on the cost. In times when we're all mindful of how far our money goes, I cannot recommend Arden’s Kitchen for breakfast based on the expensive prices. It's disappointing to leave a place feeling that your wallet took more of a hit than it should have, and on this basis, I'll be looking elsewhere for my morning sustenance.

Friendly service - but food stone cold- coffee was lousy (my cappuccino tasted of hot water and really wasn’t a cappuccino) But the real issue was the bacon sandwich- who knew a bacon sandwich could be so bad- bread roll was stone cold - out a fridge bacon inside was cold as a result, very fatty and almost rare- and clumps of margarine that was just unpleasant . Pretty much inedible.

I have to say after reading the reviews I was unsure of what to expect, but was blown away by not only the customer service, but the selection of foods/drinks and atmosphere was second to none! I did see they’d added some heating, I don’t know if that’s due to previous review, but seems the issue has been fixed. I had a full cooked breakfast, was asked how I like my eggs, 3 types of bread to choose from and was served fresh/well cooked ingredients. It was cost effective for the area and what I received. Give it a try, don’t be put off by a couple of negative reviews.

Much awaited opening after lengthy re-furbish. Very friendly owners. Staff settling in. Interesting decor but chilly. Large array of sweet treats but savories could do with more variety like sausage rolls and spuds. Not cheap. Decent coffee. Overall....ok!

Very disappointing. Today was my third visit. First visit was the opening week and they had no bacon left. In view of this being their first week I was prepared to pay another visit. A couple of weeks ago I visited Arden’s Kitchen again. Once again I was told there was no bacon. The server checked with the kitchen and came back there was bacon after all. I ordered a bacon sandwich and a latte, a friend also ordered bacon. The bacon had clearly been over cooked and then warmed up. It was tough as old boots and tasted of old fat. We reported our disappointment to the staff as we were leaving. Due to circumstances I visited the cafe again today. I specifically asked for my bacon to be cooked fresh because of my experience. The server brought my sandwich and apologised, apparently the chef did not have any fresh bacon, however the bacon in my sandwich hadn’t been over cooked. So that’s ok then!Part of the bacon was actually cold, not even warm, never mind hot. The bacon did not look or taste good. Very disappointing. In their defence they make a nice cup of coffee but I will not be returning.

Called for lunch with the family. The service was slow and the food was average. Ordered a burger and this came with a handful of fries. I would best describe it as bland and tasteless for the price. The rest of the family ordered chicken strips and pasta. Again, nothing special. The bill came to over £34 for a main, a side and a kids meal. Would I return? Probably not.
