What a find in the heart of Lancaster!! This pizza was A-MAZ-ING!! So, so good. Great choices, excellent local beer from Farm Yard Brew Co. and the garlic bread was to die for. Lovely friendly atmosphere too. Couldn’t l recommend enough. You won’t be disappointed.

I went tonight for Friday pizza with my Italian family, we enjoyed the best pizza ever, excellent quality and better than many places in Italy! We love the chef and all the staff, they are very friendly always! Tiramisu was very fresh and delicious! Highly recommended. We will be back very soon.

The bread was delicious, the pizza bread is outstanding but toppings are basically like what the other reviewer said like dominoes, they layered on so much cheese it was like half a cm thick so it's clearly a mix and mash of neapolitian and modern pizza! So yeah enjoyed it but I'd probably just go dominoes next time

Aquila is always fantastic! By far the best pizza in town, in fact the best I have had outside Italy.

My son and I went for a takeaway. Had already viewed menu on line. Service was excellent. They will be five minutes we were told. It was about that. Took them back to the hotel Still warm and as described; as usual photos on menu looked better, eg more black olives and anchovies. Latter are not salted, as I like them, and few, mainly on one side. Taste was good and we enjoyed them. If anything they were a tad underbaked and not the crispier type which I prefer. They are referred to as 12" pizzas. That is probably the starting size, as they were slightly smaller when cooked. And at £23.90, I thought a tad overpriced. The young staff and the older guy behind the counter were most friendly and helpful.

This is hands down the best pizza in Lancaster, I’ve tried every pizza place in the city over the last 5 years and I don’t bother to go anywhere else anymore. My family and I normally get take away from here a couple of times a month and every pizza we have had has been spot on. The only downside with Neapolitan style pizza is that it’s at its best when eaten immediately, the few times I’ve eaten in the restaurant it’s been even better than when I collect. Thank you for all the great pizza!

So you enter and can see right to the back of the oven, lit by the burning wood that fires it. You know it will take less than 2 minutes to cook your pizza. The ingredients are on show - Marzano tomato marinara sauce, nutty fresh rocket leaves, goat cheese and Buffalo mozzarela, and hand torn basil leaves. And there's everything else you'd expect to find in a classy, artisan pizzeria.. Eat in or order by phone or on the web. The food is benissimo and the welcome is as warm and friendly as you'll find anywhere in Lancaster. Buon appetito!

Wow, what can I say? For so long I've struggled to find a decent vegan pizza, but here I am writing a review for the best pizza I've ever had. Cannot recommend you guys enough, absolutely wow. Driver also incredibly friendly and arrived less then half an hour! Will be back again and again! :)

Great little place. The pizza is divine and you can get garlic dip which is fab. This was recommended by an Italian friend and he was not wrong! Bellisimo!

Myself and a mate had a margarita pizza, goats cheese pizza and a garlic bread. All food was great / pizza bases lovely and thin with a rustic crust, delicious toppings and the garlic bread was excellent as well. This is probably the best rustic pizza I have had in the UK and can’t wait for my next visit there. Highly recommended.

This place gets very busy very quickly. Absolutely no surprise, as the margherita pizza I had was amazing and probably best I've tasted. That's saying something as I travel to Italy a lot. I thought Volare in Preston was good but this place beats it. Location is in the city centre and fairly central not far from M&S store

Best pizzas in Lancaster and always quick delivery

I ordered a hot roasted pizza, it came in good time though upon opening the pizza some of the edges were burnt. The pizza was cut into four pieces, the dough was thin and the edges pretty reasonable. Not the best pizza I’ve had in Lancaster but on par with pizza hut. The restaurant looked busy and the staff were friendly, approachable and service pretty quick. It’s reasonable priced but only one size option.

Delicious as usual using quality ingredients

I ordered two pizzas and a caprese salad through deliveroo for to the Clarendon hotel. Because the three mobile network went down today, We realised the delivery driver might not be able to contact us so my gf went outside and stood in the freezing cold in front of our hotel to look for the driver. When he arrived (silver hatchback) the driver stayed in his car for another 15 mins right in front of the hotel without getting out or rolling down the window to ask if she was waiting for him. She tried showing the deliveroo order on her phone screen from the stairs. Nothing. There wasn’t anyone else around. He ignored her. She didn’t approach his car because he might not have been a delivery driver. When he finally got out, she asked him if he was from Aquila. The pizza was cold and definitely soured what would have been a delicious much appreciated Neapolitan pizza for our night in Morecambe. I understand the mobile network issue was a let down for everyone but this was really rubbish of the driver to not even try to ask or roll down the window, 30 mins total waiting in the cold. 🥶 🤧 brrr

Pizza here is incredible and some of the deals make it quite competitive with big chains. Authentic Italian style pizza, they literally make it infront of you which is really nice touch. Definitely support your local.

Super leckere Pizza - leider ist das Restaurant sehr klein und es gibt nur Barhocker, was mit Kindern evtl. schwierig werden könnte.

The owner trained in Italy and has the concept perfectly recreated here. There is not much seating inside. They seem to do a lot of takeaway business.

I don't think it's just the best pizza in Lancaster; I genuinely believe this is probably the best pizza in the entire North west. This pizza tastes fresh everytime. The ingredients are always high quality, the staff are always helpful. If you are ever stuck for what to eat in Lancaster, I couldn't recommend this place enough.

Best in value, and one of the best pizzas that I've ever had. I ordered a Pizza Margherita for collection. Staff were very friendly and the order was available within 25 minutes. Very impressive. Chewy and tasty dough. Tomato sauce and toppings taste wonderful. It would have cost me 50% more if I ordered something of this quality in nearby big cities like Manchester.

When I was a student in Naples about 12 years ago, I was eating pizza every day without exception. I noticed this place for the first time today and it brought back memories from 12 years ago. The delicious taste of San Marzano tomatoes, the aroma of the dough cooked in wood fire, the wonder of cheese and olive oil took me away and this pizza it totally die for! I would definitely recommend you to go and try their pizza. 👍👍👍

Visited this gem whilst visiting Lancaster briefly for work. I challenge anyone to find a better authentic pizza for just over £10. I have traveled all over the U.K. and in Europe and work away 45 weeks per year, this is just stunning pizza at this price point. Very soft, fluffy, not a hard crust, light, beautiful range of toppings! I’d give an honest 9 1/2 out of 10. I love finding local foodie joints at a reasonable price and this was it. I’m going again before I leave back home for Anglesey. It took literally minutes to make and serve, great service and a friendly vibe.

Best pizza place I've been too in Lancaster, proper wood fired pizza, quite close to stuff that I've had in Italy itself, me and friend had 2pizza 1 garlic bread deal for £25 which was quite good value for money we felt, I had the quattro formaggi, and my friend had the pepperoni and nduja sausage, both were excellent and tiramisu for dessert to top off was great!

Perfect light chewy crust each time. Toppings are fresh and tasty. If I had to find a fault, it would be that the toppings can be somewhat asymmetrical.

I ordered a pizza for delivery, arrived just out of the time frame and was only just warm. The pizza itself tasted great, would probably of been very good if it was hot. I would use them again but maybe not for a delivery.
