Scrumptious in Lancaster

Thank you Scrumptious for replacing my order promptly and with extra which I didn't expect my meal was really tasty 😋 x

Ordered a donner kebab as recommended by a friend. The food arrived shortly after order however once opening the bag I was greeted with the wrap on top of the box, which I can only assume is due to their inability to grasp the concept of putting the contents inside. Assuming at the time this was just a slip up, I open the box to see donner meat akin to packing material flanked by a piece of onion best described as quartered, covered in sweet chili sauce from god knows when. Along side two other friends I woke up this morning with a rather upset stomach. Up to the point of writing this I have not been ill, something I cannot say for the two other people ordering, both of which were sat in the toilet, vomiting with diarrhoea this morning. If I could give this place a 0 I would since it is a miracle they have not killed anyone yet with their unhygienic frankly dangerous practices when it comes to food safety.

I'd avoid like the plague, walked in and ordered, the staff were stood eating, not one washed their hands before preparing food and one continued to eat whilst making pizzas. One staff member had a itch and continued to handle food without washing their hands between itching. Grim!

My partner ordered me a pizza whilst he was at work and asked them to leave a message on the box. Such wonderful people actually did it! The pizza was amazing and so was the chicken strips. This is definitely my top place to order food from. Thank you

Ordered food on just eat waited nearly two hours still never turned up phoned them the first guy put the phone down the second time the guy told me he had cancelled my order I nevertheless wasn’t told in any way then told me I would need to wait till tomorrow when they open to get a refund or I can have my pizza then I ordered it at 22.30 and got confirmation my order was due between 23.30 and 23.50 at 00.30 I was told the above first time I have used them and the last the council should not let them trade like this

Food was cold, wish I'd have read the reviews before going there, lesson learnt, we won't be back

The pizza is amazing,fast service,nothing on the menu disappoints me. 10/10 would recommend.

We stopped by on way home from school, Big fat cheese burger, chicken meal deals! Food was well cooked and service was fab, big smiles all round

Where do I start, I won't be going again after what I saw, young lad about 13 making the food, kebab sat for about 10 mins while the rest of my order was put together, I mentioned about my kebab being sat there for ages to then be told its fine! Any way what I saw next shocked me, the young lad went into this dirty bucket with the tongs he'd just been turning burgers with and pulled out a filthy red and black t-shirt and dropped it on the grill!! To clean off the char from the burgers then dropped it back into the bucket!!!! Stay away the place is a health hazard, if I could rate minus stars I would!!

Terrible delivery service. Took almost 3 hours to get a pizza delivered. Not to mention no one bothered answering the phone.

Will not be ordering from them ever again!! Always late and this time they cancelled my order!!! Ordered at 6:30ish, rang at 8:15pm as food was still not here. They said it was with the driver and the guy in the phone read out my postcode to me. Bank showing order pending. 9pm food stil not here. Rang again and said they can't find my order and they didn't recieve it. How the hell did he know my postcode if they didn't recieve the order?? And why say it was out being delivered?? Checked my bank and it now said Google temporary hold......basically they cancelled my order!

The manager isn’t treating him employees appropriately

Delivery was over 40 minutes late and the driver didn't even acknowledge this fact tried leaving the food outside on the door. The donner meat was dry and cold and the chicken strips were dry and again cold like they had been sat under a heater before they were sent out for delivery. The chicken wings again that were sent out were cold. The chips were soggy and undercooked honestly the worst takeaway I've ever had would never eat here again. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Such a fantastic takeaway and now our family favourite. The people who work there are LOVELY, the food is consistently amazing and the prices and portion size means you get value for money. I've lived in Lancaster for 6 years and really struggled to find a good takeaway so I'm really pleased I've found scrumptious.

I had cheese burger and regular fries, terrible quality

Absolute rip of. It used to be nice but gone totally down hill. Got a garlic bread 10 mins ago and its burnt black and its solid, no garlic taste just burnt toast, I would usually put this down to them being busy but it's happened at least 3 times now. Its pretty obvious it's been cooked, left to cool then reheated. This isn't the first time we've had highly disappointing food from there!!!

A burnt peperami pizza with cheap dried herbs and a portion of frozen chips that's all I have to say won't be going there again

Useless. That's all I have to say We ordered a margarita pizza and a mixed kebab. It arrived 1hr and 40 minutes after the initial order time. The food was a far cry from decent The pizza was cold and the portions of meat on the kebab was dismal. This is the first and last time we will order from here. Takeaway food in Lancaster has slowly spiraled down hill. Highly recommended not ordering from here disgrace

Will never use again! Meal was cold and messy, quite frankly, I feed my dogs better meals. Went in bin wouldn't even feed it to my dogs

Lmao wow. Ordered pizza and chips and it was bad. I didn’t know you could get chips wrong but here we are. Only reason i gave it 2 stars is because it was delivered within the promised time frame. Every other thing was a fail.

Had pizza from here for the first time tonight. I had the 4 Seasons Pizza. Although the taste was okay, there was barely any pepperoni and minimal pineapple and mushroom. Top price too

Good pizzas and chicken wings, got takeaways a lot during lockdown but went a couple of weeks ago and wasn’t amazing! Ordered ham and pineapple had maybe 4/5 pieces of pineapple on and barely no ham, hence the three stars, fingers crossed the pizza toppings are better next time but the rest is so good

Third time ordering from here and been consistently nice food and tonight was no exception, I had the scrumptious pizza and wow, it was packed with toppings and tasted amazing, highly recommend giving it a try. I will definitely be ordering again.

Very disappointed with my Donna, salad very sparse meat very thin and tasteless the wraps in a bag separately not like previous Kababs, wouldn’t use this place again.

Sub par experience with their Scrumptious family kebab. Chicken and lamb way over cooked and doused in lemon and cheap herbs. Doner meat was per sliced and given the least amount of warming possible on grill. Both flat breads were supposed to be naans but were packet flat breads placed on grill to dry them out to almost inedible state. Salad was sparse and uninspiring. Chips were passable when reheated in the oven. Ordered Diet Pepsi and got full fat. Such a shame as the place was spotless and seemed organised. Perhaps they have just got complacent and given up on quality some.

Ordered food. Some of it came fine, but the two pizzas and garlic bread didn't arrive. Called first time and was told that it was on the way. Waited 20mins. Rang again, was told that they will speak to the driver and ring me back. Didn't get rung back so rang again after 30mins. Was told that it was on the way and will be here in a few minutes. Still waiting half an hour later and it's not arrived. Awful customer service. They just told me a bunch of lies. Had to request a refund through just eat and hope that it's approved. My boyfriend has to go without any tea tonight since the pizzas were what he ordered. Never ordering from here again. Beware.

Mix Kebab was lovely just slightly on the expensive side at £7.99. Chips were undercooked. Lovely staff and great service 👍

Normal order of mixed kebab and chips, no problems, food arrived quickly, well packaged and hot. Dessert arrived still frozen, however had defrosted by the time it came to eat

I ordered a meat fest pizza with donner meat on with a side of cheesy chips. All of the meat was the worst quality I have ever come across. I would not even feed it to a dog. It was covered in grease and the base was all soggy. The chips were like cardboard and there was about half a tablespoon of cheese. I threw it all in the bin after a few bites as made me feel sick. I cannot believe this place is still open. This is up there with one of the worst things I’ve ever put in my mouth. Disgusting.

Half pound burger with chilli sauce. Wow what a let down. Burger bun looked like it had mopped up diesel! Chilli sauce was tomato sauce. 1 burger cooked and 1 burger pink. Not sure what else could have gone wrong!!! Avoid!

Do not order from scrumptious takeaway lancaster just vile customer service an food , sent wrong pizza mushroom & ham when we asked for a cheesy garlic bread then wrong pizza that came it was stone cold looked like been warmed up about 5 times, the chips were wet and soggy an for the family kebab wouldnt even feed a child the size of it with the added extra of pink chicken. We rang up and explained about the wrong order he refused at first then said be here in 20 mins and all food would be replaced, 40 mins later still nothing and they wouldnt answer to my number. My husband rang off his they answered straight away and once he metioned the caravan park we were on the rude girl put the phone down. We kept ringing manager finally answered with disgusting stinking attitude telling me we was only gettin chips and a cheesy garlic bread we had spent £24. We said just send the money back a refund u can have the food by now its 9.45 from ordering at 7.30. Explained the mushrooms put on the wrong pizza my son is allergic good job he hadnt taken a bite, but he didnt care was yelling no refund just the cheesy garlic bread and chips will be sent. In the end they ignored my number blocked by looks of it the delivery driver turned up with yes a cheesy garlic bread that was freezing cold and more soggy undercooked wet chips. Thanks for ruining our first night of our holiday

This used to be the best takeaway in the town. This was the best place for a kebab & pizza. Used to order every 2 weeks & was always great. Haven't ordered for around 2 months & what a disappointment. Must have new owners & changed food suppliers for a cheaper alternative. The food is now tasteless & cheap. What used to be great donner kebab now feels like it's 50% water & tasteless meat. The chips are average at best now aswell. I didn't mind paying more £ in the past as it was fantastic however there is nothing nice about this anymore. Only thing that's the same is the shop name. Won't be ordering from here again.

Best tasting doner kebab. I would recommend everyone trying it . The staff are nice and the takeaway really clean. Best takeaway around the area .

No staff wearing face masks considering they were working in close proximity under covid restrictions was not good to see

Placed an order over the phone, part of the order was two portions of chips in which the lady over the phone asked which size..also ordered a naan bread with cheesy chips in. When the order arrived we had no chips and a plain naan so I rang back up to explain the issue to which I had to wait 30 minutes later for and they just sent cheesy chips! Terrible service! Also the first time I ordered from these I found a hair in the garlic bread! So thanks scrumptious but I won’t be ordering from here again! Didn’t even get an apology!!

Want in the door , the staff greeted me by clicking his fingers and saying (yeah). The lady at the front of the counter was eaqually as rude, this is a vile takeaway !

The Donna Calzone was great, when we chased the ortder and got it delivered. The Halloumi salad was 90% lettuce and onion, and very disappointing, the cheese itself was good. The Chicken Tikka was undercooked and tasted awful, and the wrap it came in was also doughy and undercooked. The onion rings were the typical unimpressive tiny reconstituted ones you get at many take outs. The cheesy garlic bread we didn't order, and ended up paying for, was greasy and relatively flavourless. This was the first ever take out I was actually unable to finish my meal. We had much better service last time, but this was so bad we're not ordering from them again.

I wish I could give this 0 stars.. RUDE staff. Food arrives 2 hours late and that's if they actually bring the correct order. When you call to complain they bar you and threaten to phone the police and threaten your address.. Stay well clear

What I ordered was a chicken kebab with pieces of cubed chicken interspersed with peppers as shown on the picture I clicked on to place the order. What I got was flat pieces pieces of chicken on some form of bread, no sign of peppers. The chicken tasted OK but the meal was disappointing and, despite the assurance of the assistant that “it says on the menu that it comes with a naan”, I can find no reference to this on the menu.

Got 2 different pizzas. Both pizzas were spot on. Base was perfect. Lots of cheese. Food arrived hot too (not many do that!) Can't fault this place

We ordered takeaway pizza to be delivered to our holiday apartment and the delivery was prompt, the food delicious and the prices very reasonable. Would definitely use again if in the area.

We ordered the family kebab and I have to say we was a little concerned that there wouldn't be enough for the price. We was wrong! What a feast, lamb shish, chicken and donner kebab meat perfectly cooked and presented with thick cut chips, salad and nann bread for two all for the price of £13.99. BARGAIN! DELICIOUS! DON'T MISS THE OPPORTUNITY, ORDER NOW. BRILLIANT. THANK YOU.

So pleased with our food, peri peri chips were amazing and the pizza wasn’t oily or greasy at all. will definitely be coming back

Delivery driver just didn’t turn up I called the restaurant and the customer service skills are the worst I’ve come across AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Very good food. Would highly recommend the Scrumptious Family Kebab deal as you get donner, chicken and shish kebab meats, loads of chips and 2 big naans, salad and cans. Menu is really diverse so we're looking forward to trying different things (although it's tempting to get the above order every time!) Food has been consistently good and we can't fault the service when collecting or delivering. Will keep coming back for more :)
