I’ll start with the positives - the room was stunning and the live piano a lovely touch. Staff were pleasant (although service was a little slow). The food, however, was the most disappointing afternoon tea I’ve ever experienced. The bread on the sandwiches was stale and the chicken and truffled egg sandwiches were inedible - I had shell in my first bite of the egg sandwich! The salmon filling was passable, and the tiny little tart was nice. The only edible sweet treat was the chocolate one. For one of the most expensive afternoon teas in London, this was a huge disappointment!

Unfortunately we did not have a great experience. The service was almost non existent - we had to ask for everything- from a cup missing to having our tea. We had to wait 30 minutes for a second plate of sandwiches. The food was ok, nothing exceptional. We could not taste the herbs in the cucumber sandwiches, the horseradish in the salmon. The bread was bland and certainly didn’t feel home baked - the texture of the cakes were the same - a mousse with a small filling. The Bridgeton tea was good but the others were weak. For £98 /pp plus service I was expecting a much better experience from the Lanesborough ; I’ve had much better in 3 stars hotels -

Overpriced and not the service i expected. We went there for an afternoon tea. The food was good but the service obligatory and at no part really helpfull. when we left i forgot my umbrella at the cloackroom and even though we were the only customers at the time, the umbrella was put aside and the moment i noties and ran back it was put aside and no where found. This experience feels like an example for the whole afternoon. There is service but no one that really cared and helps you with the intention to do something extra. There are Lots of teas but no one offers to try another flavour or makes an recommandation. Not something that made the occasion special, even while our daugher was celebrating her birthday there with me.

We were really excited to take my mother and mother in law to celebrate their birthday and have the Bridgerton afternoon tea. Unfortunately it was a disappointment. The service was slow to bring out our teas or fill up our water. The Bridgerton decorations were poor for what I thought would be a special experience. The food was average and nothing was particularly standout. All in all it was a relatively disappointing afternoon particularly for the price and what the hotel’s standards should be. The person that somewhat saved the entire afternoon was the incredible pianist, who was phenomenal.

What an absolute delight it was to have afternoon tea at the Lanesborough this afternoon. Every member of staff from the cheerful doorman to our waiting staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly. We had time to have a refreshing sit down in the Withdrawing Room where we were served drinks before our afternoon tea experience. The rooms are beautiful, furniture sumptuous and comfortable and the music was at a nice level in the background so that we could enjoy it but also enjoy our conversation. The afternoon tea was absolutely delicious with refills of sandwiches. Warm, fresh scones and beautiful, tasty pastries. Traditional and more exotic tea selections to choose from and plenty of refreshing of the teapots. An absolutely wonderful experience with lovely friends making fabulous memories. I would highly recommend this experience as one of the most wonderful I’ve had in London for a long time.

From the moment you get to the door the service is impeccable. Nothing was too much trouble. Afternoon tea prices in 5 star London hotels is expensive, you are paying for a whole experience. The setting in the hotel is beautiful, with live piano music throughout the afternoon tea. The service was of high standard throughout. Offer of additional sandwiches and trying different teas. Also a birthday chocolate. Take home box offered for what you don’t manage to eat. So in summary, lovely afternoon tea set in luxury surroundings, would recommend the experience (remember you aren’t just paying for the tea itself!).

Booked the ‘Bridgeton’ afternoon tea as a present for 2 of my girlfriends. I had high expectations but were left completely underwhelmed. There is nothing “majestic” or notable about the experience. The Service was mediocre as was the food. Never before when paying £98pp would I expect to have the entire contents of the ‘tea’ brought out all at once! Squashed no less on one small table along with the Tea and the Champagne at the same time! There’s little point in bringing out warmed scones to enjoy warm before you’ve even had a chance to take your coat off. They were btw the worst scones I have ever tasted. Doughy and bland. Sandwiches weren’t up to much either and all you could taste from the cakes was the sugar! As for the Bridgeton ‘theme’ aside from some tacky plastic flowers tied around the cake stand and the ‘character naming’ of said desserts there was little reference to the show. Absolutely No style and little substance unfortunately. The Lanebrough itself was ok if a little dated. The bathroom were smelly and unclean. Having had afternoon tea at The Savoy, Claridges The Goring, The Langham to name a few this was by far the worst. The only thing worth mentioning was the potatoe wedges which we had whilst we took drinks in the bar, which we were all grateful for since the tea itself was so bad. Sadly other than this, apart from the company it was utterly disappointing and a complete let down!

We came during the Christmas season so there were lots of Christmas decorations and Christmas trees. The service was fantastic. Even though we had not made a reservation, we were still able to stay. The tables were joined together for us, even with six children. We only ordered something to drink, but were given nuts and cookies, including nuts with truffle flavor. We thoroughly enjoyed the drinks and the atmospheric surroundings. The prices were of course extravagant, but we thought that was acceptable for such a special experience.

*Afternoon tea - Vegan menu. The Lanesborough decor, ambiance and service were second to none. All of the members of staff we encountered were friendly, polite and engaged with us throughout our visit. The service in particular was impeccable and at no point were we left waiting or wanting for anything. Unfortunately, as is the case with many vegan offerings, flavour and texture were sacrificed. Particularly disappointing were the scones, which had a distinctive taste and were not sweet enough. On a more minor note, when serving vegan cream, it looses its integrity if left to get to room temperature. One of the pastries (had candy stripes) was very disappointing in terms of taste. We came with high expectations given the venue and sadly they were not met.

However, after the first service our waiter disappeared, never to be seen again. Second orders never arrived, our orders were seemingly forgotten and confusion reigned. I'm quite surprised that no immediate action was taken in such a place. Is it normal to be groped as a woman, by an old man, at the Lanesborough? I was so eager to book this for my sister’s birthday afternoon tea, but unfortunately, it turned out to be quite disappointing. The atmosphere is undoubtedly beautiful, and we had booked the Bridgerton afternoon tea, expecting a theme-related experience. However, there was nothing that connected to the theme, which was quite underwhelming. The desserts weren’t exciting, and overall, it didn’t feel worth the money. They served champagne and hot chocolate together, which wasn’t a great idea—by the time we got to the hot chocolate, it was cold. Scones were served without any condiments, and when we requested cream and jam, it took a considerable amount of time to arrive. Refills for the sandwiches took almost 30 minutes, which was far too long. Overall, I was very disappointed. The service needs significant improvement, and both the quality and taste of the food need to be addressed. Sadly, it was a bit of a letdown for what should have been a special evening.

The atmosphere lacked the festive charm we were hoping for. There were no carol singers, no seasonal touches like Christmas cake or even a special Christmas tea blend. It didn’t capture the cozy, holiday spirit that makes afternoon tea at this time of year special. For the price, we expected far better. While the food and tea were fine, the overall experience didn’t justify the expense. We’ve been to other places that deliver far more in terms of ambiance, service, and value. We had a reservation at 3.45 and arrived early. We asked if we could get in early and were told not at the moment but to wait in the bar and if they could seat us early they would. We thought it would be nice in the bar as a prelude to tea but it was very disappointing . Seated next to us was a couple and she was smoking a vape with billows of smoke all over the place. we complained to one of the servers and she said it wasn’t acceptable and she would speak with her. The guest disappeared for a while and we assumed she had gone outside to smoke. She came back and duly started smoking the vape again. The smell was overpowering and as our table want ready we had to evacuate the bar and stand outside . We complained again to the same server and a manager . We were really looking forward to our tea and this really spilled our relax in the bar. The afternoon tea was just OK. After having tea in another establishment there was no comparison. The tea in the Lanesborough was lukewarm and the food was definitely not worth what they charged. Would not go back and a very disappointing experience.

Just a truly beautiful setting, sandwiches decent, sweet deserts, artistic and tasty, scones and condiments beautiful, with a glass of champagne, £105 a head, also sandwiches and sweets are unlimited, so a true bargin. Extra special at Christmas time.

It did not live up to my expectations. The service was pretty normal, not as polite and elegant as the one I got at the Goring.

We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tea at the Lanesborough. The selection of teas was great and quite different, the sandwiches and sweets were lovely and their presentation was fantastic and the overall atmosphere, paired with the piano playing, was wonderful. Every single member of staff we encountered were super friendly and welcoming and made the experience really memorable. Can't wait to return!

It was a wonderful experience in a fabulous setting. Nicola and his colleagues looked after us so well and made a special Birthday celebration memorable. Thank you to all. The festive Bridgerton themed afternoon tea was delicious and clearly well themed and thought out!

Soft atmosphere and excellent service. A sweet house cat was the ”icing on the cake”!

Bridgerton Afternoon tea - we sat in the raised area around the main regency room. We were eating at 12.30 on a Monday so nice and quiet. Piano music lovely and the food was exceptional . We were not rushed at any point and the sandwiches and themed cakes were lovely and gooey. The lemon curd with the scones was really good - there was strawberry jam as well. We were asked if we want more sandwiches and I was provided with a box to take a couple of cakes home.

5 star Afternoon Tea experience. This is the second time I have visited for Afternoon Tea. I've previously visited for The Freda Experience & have always wanted to come back. So it was a real treat coming with my son & his girlfriend seeing the hotel so beautifully dressed up for Christmas. I have to thank all the staff who make the experience so special for us. The attention to detail & the fact that every single member knew it was my son's birthday really makes The Lanesborough standout from the crowd & my second visit even better than my first.

The staff were so attentive and the service was fantastic. The piano player was also amazing! The food was incredible and so was the Bridgerton cocktail. I would definitely recommend afternoon tea at The Lanesborough.

I wanted to share our appreciation for the delightful experience at Bridgestone Afternoon Tea. The service was exceptional, with our server attending to every detail, including frequent tea refills, ensuring we were well taken care of. With guests visiting from abroad, it was the perfect setting for a memorable afternoon. Thank you for making it special. We look forward to visiting again and will gladly recommend Bridgestone to others.

Undeniable in a rich vibrance that kept my wife and I sighing with joy and sadness. Joy from the bubbly merriment of the experience. Sadness from the crashing realization that it wasn’t forever. Would suggest as the premiere experience for afternoon tea this holiday season.

We dined here a couple of weeks ago. We didn’t know the restaurant was due to close on the 15th February. So why am I reviewing something that won’t exist? Because it deserves every accolade it can get before its finale. What a huge loss to the London fine dining circuit it will be when the last petit four is served later this evening. First a huge shout out to the front of house. Simply impeccable levels of hospitality. Giuseppe the sommelier. Understated yet undeniably passionate about his craft. And what a wine pairing it was!! Natasha our main server. So relaxed. So humble. So friendly. Just a lovely dinner companion to have. On to the food. Simply genius. Often the difference between the 1 star and a 2 star can be a hairs breadth. Not here. The quality, flavours, technique, creativity are a million miles away from any 1 star I’ve had the pleasure of eating at. Standouts were two sauces believe it or not. The geranium herbal wasabi infused sauce to the lobster was sublime. A warning pleasant heat from the wasabi was the undertone to a wonderfully deep and umami filled backdrop to what was probably the best lobster I’ve ever tasted!! Next a saffron infused sauce accompanying a very skilfully crafted piece of turbot. The depth of flavour chef extracted was just so impressive. And the humble artichoke was taken to a cosmic level. Sweet notes to a savoury dish. I could wax lyrical but I’ll stop there. You won’t be able to visit the restaurant any longer after today the 15th February. If only we’d discovered it before….

BLT with cheese change the cheese to Brie for an extra pound and thats stellar. They are not stingy on the bacon, you get a lot for the money.

The food was delicious and very different from your usual brunch. However, I felt the staff were cold and unfriendly.
