Unfortunately, we came here twice within the last month and were disappointed with the cappuccinos. The first time we thought it was probably a mistake, but the second time was the same. They were just hot milk with a minimum amount of coffee. It doesn't take much to make a great coffee when you have the proper machine, so it doesn't make sense to produce poor coffee.

The waitress said it would be a 10 min wait for a prawn sandwich which was acceptable as they were busy. But it didn’t come for half an hour. Not much of an apology and no money knocked off for such a long wait. Don’t think I’ll be going again.

The food was od a very high standard all homemade My Earl Grey tea was served in a teapot with a China cup and saucer and the cutlery was laid with the blunt edge of the knife against the fork. My panini was served with locally sourced crisps and mixed salad. The decor was cottagey The bathroom was spotless as was the cafe. I will certainly remember it the next time I visit Clitheroe

I cannot recommend this company enough! I got married on the Sunday 20th August & the wedding venue did not provide a breakfast on the morning of the wedding. As it was a Sunday, most businesses were either closed or could not supply breakfast at such an early start. I put a post out on a Clitheroe community page & instantly, Anita from Apricot Meringue got in touch. She was friendly, courteous & incredibly helpful. We ended up ordering, breakfast butties, a continental platter & a platter for later on in the evening. They were absolutely amazing. The presentation alone was stunning & the quality was excellent. Everyone in the wedding party complimented on how delicious they were and not a single bite was left!! :) Thank you so much for setting our day off perfectly!

We have been coming to Apricot Meringue as a group of friends twice a week for 15 years. It is a lovely cafe with lovely staff and excellent food. It is a shame when one mistake in service warrants such an extreme review by a customer who had to wait 15 minutes for her scones. Anyone who has never made a mistake has never made anything.

If you place an order you expect it to come to your table, I’m I right? Had to go chasing our order, not a full meal, but 2 scones after waiting over 15 mins and having finished our hot drinks. When they eventually brought the scones I mentioned it had been so long we had finished our drinks, we were offered a glass of water!!! When paying they asked if everything was ok and I said no, the owners reply was “we were busy”, not what you want to hear!! Used to be a nice place to go, I won’t even mention the sticky table and the long hair stuck to the table cloth!! 👎🏻

We were attracted to the Apricot Meringue by previous reviews and its kerbside appeal. A busy Friday lunchtime. The food and drink were very good indeed; we were served fairly quickly; surroundings pleasant; choice of food and drink adequate. We were served by a young and 'diminutive' (sorry, that's my best try at describing) lady who was so welcoming and pleasant. She was calm, welcoming and we heard her being just as pleasant with all of her customers. She would definitely help to convince my wife and I to return. Well done, you are an excellent advert for the cafe. Unfortunately another member of staff (tall lady, wearing glasses) could learn a lot from her colleague. She was a little surly ("we will get someone to your table when we have someone free") and rather officious. Not quite what we expect when we enter a tea room. Our thanks to the young lady who served us initially. To the other lady, you might want to reflect on how you interact with customers when you are busy. Apart from that, a very enjoyable visit.

We arrived there after 1300 and found a nice table in the conservatory room. We both chose the Meat and Onion pie, a deep-pan on with excellent suet pastry, with chips and garden peas, then for dessert, we both chose the home-made apple and cinnamon hot fruit pie with custard. Took my mother to Apricot Meringue in Clitheroe for lunch. The lady who took our order was quite abrupt, not even a smile on her face. The Pot of Tea & Large Coffee arrived quickly, but the food took ages and we had finished the drinks before it arrived. Don't know why it took so long, as mine was cowmans sausages with mash and peas (instant mash as it was very gloopy and stuck to the roof of your mouth), peas & sausages were "just ok". My mothers Lasagne, had literally no meat in it, we asked on ordering if it came with a bit of salad, the smileless lady said no, so we ordered a side salad. When it arrived it came with a bit of salad, so we didn't need to have bought the extra side salad!. The bill came to over £20.00 .....instant mash a few peas 3 small sausages and a few lasagne sheets and a white sauce???

Looking out onto a busy street in his attractive market town, this cafe is 5 star clean with shabby/chic decor in style of a Miss Marple tea room .....could well imagine her in here! Nice selection of local produce in meals and prices very competitive. Beverages well priced too.Attentive and pleasant staff provided quick service.

We came here for lunch, service ok, food alas not so. Not in a hurry to return. Ok if you want a cup of coffee, but there are better establishments- the area is spoilt for choice!!!

Lovely place with stunning views and hosted by Jonathan and Fran who are the most welcoming people. Bed and breakfast for one night only but we felt like we were visiting close family. We would highly recommend a stay here.

Traditional pub food. An excellent lunchtime dining experience with a wide choice of beers. All staff are friendly and polite. Shout out to Nicky and Andy, thanks. Couldn't do enough for you. Down-to-earth pub. Cheers! Just as good again today.

An excellent full English breakfast prepared with quality ingredients and prepared to perfection. A very friendly and professional staff team. The farm shop is a delight with an excellent range of products. The butchery and bakery departments are outstanding.

We sometimes visit Clitheroe midweek during the day. A pub crawl is the usual way to go, but this time, after the first pint we decided to have another. We stayed for six and on heading to the bus stop, we had only been to one pub. Why did we stay all afternoon? It was the friendliness of not just the staff, but the other customers all offering interesting content to a rolling discussion ranging from the beers to where each of us lived / grew up etc .... The barmaid (it was her first day) pulled a great pint too. In my experience of both pubs and people, this is rare. I nearly forgot to mention the prices. Cheaper than most places and two of the beers offered at just £3 a pint.
