Friendly and helpful staff help this garden centre to be my go-to place for getting just what you're after. Had been bought some small bay trees and some pots, so just needed some compost. A quick Google to the RHS site had me looking for some John Innes no.2. The good signage got me to the right place. There was a massive choice and a pallet full, plenty of stock whatever you wanted. Lots of trolleys to hand got us through in no time. Glad to report that the once pot holed car park has been fixed so getting back to your car without getting wet feet is now possible!

We always love coming to Twenty Pence Garden Centre, it’s our favourite, probably because it’s independent. We also love the food area, and the cafe is very accommodating to us and often our dog. On this occasion we took our grandson there, with a view to going on the go karts and then wandering around the shop, which we always enjoy. Sadly, our grandson fell over and grazed both his knees. We were immediately asked by a member of staff if we needed a first aider but we thought he was ok. A few minutes later our grandson was upset and so we asked for a first aider. We waited only a moment for the first aid box to arrive, and our grandson was very carefully cleaned up, and after sporting two plasters, this seemed to make his day. I would like to thank John for looking after our grandson so gently and for making what could have been a horrible moment such an easy one. .

We had a strange experience just now, I picked up a creme egg on the way out, but when I started to unwrap it I could see that it had been unwrapped before and was dirty and dusty (maybe dropped on a floor?). My husband nipped back in to swap it for a clean one, and the manager was really unpleasant and confrontational about it to him, although he eventually did get a new one. I mean, it's only a 99p creme egg?

I had a delightful visit to Ely Wilburton Garden Centre! It’s such a charming spot, not only for plant lovers but for anyone looking to enjoy a relaxing day out. The garden center itself is well-stocked with a fantastic range of plants, gardening tools, and decor, making it a perfect stop for gardeners of all levels. The highlight for me was the cute cafe—it’s an absolute gem! They offer a great selection of both hot and cold foods, perfect for any time of day. I had a delicious meal and was thoroughly impressed with the homemade cakes. They were incredibly fresh, and the flavors were just divine—definitely a must-try! The whole experience was made even better by the friendly and welcoming staff, creating a warm atmosphere that made me feel right at home. Whether you’re visiting for the plants or the food, Ely Wilburton Garden Centre is a fantastic place to unwind, shop, and enjoy a lovely meal. Highly recommended!

These guys do not respond to emails, even though they sent them. The staff dislike discussions about serving GLUTEN FREE AND DAIRY FREE items. They all give different answers. Then staff on the tills start discussing you behind your back (actually not behind your back as your still shopping, in front of them) as your proved right yet again and they didnt like it! Its not a life choice for some its a matter of life or death. So not really a laughing or snorting matter in this case! Come on Applejacks, you cater for vegans, Vegetarians, Gluten free or Dairy free, so why cant you cater for those that are GF and DF? And when Tracey eventually responds to emails, perhaps read the email correctly, and get facts correct, instead of trying to prove that the garden centre is right and we as customers are idiots and are wrong!! Sadly again on this occasion we were correct, Applejacks doesnt serve Gluten and Dairy free food, nor does the other small cafe, unless your wanting a proper meal! The garden centre as a whole is great all year round, for plants and gifts, and we will continue to visit as its one of the best and cleanest we have been to

This is the first time in several years I have visited this garden centre. A lot of money has obviously been invested in bringing the restaurant and shopping facilities up to date. We visited on a Sunday and had some food and had a look around the retail area. The food was nice, but the service area was badly managed and organised. Staff were serving customers in a disorganised way which was confusing and also annoying. Though the tables were generally clean in the restaurant more attention should be paid to ensuring the space is also clean too. The retail area holds lots of interesting gifts and gardening tools, plus BBQs, plants, etc. In all, the place is well run, nicely kept, but it's a shame about the annoyances in the restaurant. Prices here are higher than Dobbies or chain garden centres but that's kind of what you expect from an independent.

Back when this vaults was a really nice cocktail bar. Haven't been here in a while and boy it's taken a dive. The cocktails where great a bit pricey, the bar staff friendly, but the physical premises has seen better days. The men's toilet top 5 worst toilets I've ever been had the displeasure of using. 1 urinal full to the brim with piss and a dead fly floating in it, and given how quiet it was at the time, that wasn't from that evening. Cubicals locks broken and graffiti everywhere.

We attended as a large party for a birthday meal. First impressions were not great, the decor is just poor. Rawlplugs sticking out of bare plaster all over the walls, touch wall and it crumbles away, tables were sticky. Toilets weren't much better, metal cubicles which look rusty. i'm not sure if this is "designer" or "meant to be" but it honesty looks like nothings been done since the fire years ago. It looks like its been cleaned and furniture put back in! We ordered a salad and pizza and then asked for cheesy chips. Was told that they don't "do" cheesy chips. we would need to order the "Bacon LoaDed Curly FrieS, SOur CreAm, pickLed chillis & jaLapeños." Said ok great, take everything off but cheese and chips. Again told that wasn't something they could do.... Argued and said we would eat elsewhere and was then informed they would do this for us! Pizza arrived and was very greasy, looked like it had been topped off with grease. Chips arrived and were ok, not great but the cheese was parmesan, rather than cheddar so lots of weird lumps all overit. Salad arrived, one piece of chicken, two bits of butter nut squash and the rest leaves. you have to collect your own meal from the kitchen. The service was shocking, no consideration for allergies or eating disorders. The decoration is shocking, looks awful, unfinished and quite dirty. Staff not very helpful. Food greasy, lacking in any form of flavour and no consideration for allergies! All in, wouldn't go back and certainly wouldn't recommend.

Sadly yesterday, the service was terrible. I waited for a long time being served. With me my 5 year old pupil. It wasn't busy, so that was not the reason. The reason was that the two employees were too occupied with chatting with each other and customers. I did mention this to one of them and his ( I think he was male, apologies if not) reply was that he was very busy with orders, which was absolutely not true! I overheard his conversations! I wasn't the only customer being irritated. I've been to this cafe more often and the service has always been 5* but not yesterday. I don't mind waiting when it's very busy but it was quiet! My pupil, very understandably, became restless. To make things worse, when we finally had our drinks, to then go upstairs, the employee knocked my pupil with a sort of washing bowl against his head. I'm sure the employee didn't do this on purpose but to be honest , he ( I think he was a man, apologies if not) wasn't really looking. Yes, I will return to this cafe but no, if I see that these employees are working that day.
