Poor quality food, expensive food.. Which isn't worth it at all! It is rather empty and I should have realised why before I ordered anything! Burgers were a huge let down.. Chips were terrible... Just nope.

We held our twins party here and the staff could not have been more pleasant. Really good atmosphere, great food (especially the Oreo milkshakes) and all very reasonably priced. Nice addition to the palace eateries. We will be going back.

I went to Antenna's with a couple of old uni friends. With so many great food options on the triangle I hadn't tried Antenna's before but thought this was a great opportunity. The waitress was lovely but the burgers were very poor. Burgers have moved on a lot so unless they were deliberately trying to make them like burgers were in the 50s they've done very badly. Cheap bread and poor quality patty makes the £10 price tag about double what it should be. With so many better options close by, I won't be returning. A real shame as it could be excellent.

I wish I could give a better review because the food was lovely and the kitchen staff where very nice , but unfortunately it was ruined by the floor staff. It took about 20-30 mins for any one to take our order, then quite some time to get the food (sitting at the bar we could see the kitchen where rushed off their feet, if our drinks had come in this time It wouldn't have been a problem)but the food came and no drinks.we asked our waitress and she asked what we ordered and went off.then we ate about half of our food slowly talking and still no drinks. we asked again and our waitress send over a guy who takes our order again. the chef takes our plates and asks how the food was we tell her about the lack of drinks...then the coffee comes shortly after then a little after that two child sized milkshakes come out wich we are told are "on the house" but we ordered full sized drinks and frankly after waiting that long it just added insult to injury. there is no point having coffee with free refills if the 1st cup doesn't come until the end of the meal!we would have ordered a dessert but where not having a pleasant experience.the kitchen was well run clean and the food was good and its nicely decorated but the floor staff really let the place down. they explained they where busy but it was a week day lunch time!

My daughter & I popped in for lunch recently as we were shopping in Crystal Palace. My daughter has to have gluten free food and we were pleased to see that this was available. We ordered veggie burgers and were not disappointed - very tasty. The waitress was cheerful, the service was good and all for a fair price. Very satisfied.Read through some of the other reviews and saw that other peoples experience wasn't the same - what a shame. The restaurant wasn't very busy when we visited, so maybe when it is busy, you have to wait longer for your food but it is freshly cooked.Anyway, ours was a good experience & if we were in Crystal Palace again, we would pop in for lunch. It is what is says after all - a diner not a posh restaurant.

Just left now. My partner was taking me there as a treat as it is my birthday. We ordered drinks and food. Drinks came quickly but we were waiting for ever for the food when we looked at the time 40 mins had past and nothing. .. we aproched the waitress who was having her lunch and asked what had happened, she went to have a look at the computer and tried to convince me that it was a failure with the computer, But it was obvious she had forgotten to put in our order. I told them i could not continue waiting and i was leaving they said fine also sorry and made me pay for my fruit juices, you would have thought that after that they would say leave it like that..... Terrible and specialy on my Birthday !!!!

I've visited Antenna's enough times now to be comfortable with posting a 2 star review. I was peeing myself with excitement when I heard about the opening of Antennas and had looked forward to it for ages. Diners are my favourite so I had high hopes and so looked forward to my first trip. From what I remember, the food was actually good when the place first opened and it was way worth the money. Milkshakes were particularly good and I was quite taken with the Secret DJ system they had going where you could select what music would be played via an app. It was all very exciting and there was a buzz about the place as it had only just opened. Because of this, I was forgiving with the waitress who was pretty busy, even though the place isn't particularly large (with only a few tables and booths). The hot dog was massive and the home made chilli on top was probably the best chilli I've ever tasted in my life. The drawbacks though, was the open kitchen...One of the chefs/cooks at the time (blonde female) was visibly stressed and was shouting and taking it all out on some of the waitresses who appeared to be run off their feet. She wasn't exactly subtle with her shouting and it was particularly unenjoyable being sat right by the cooking area because of this. It carried on for a while and things kind of went downhill from there.. but through no fault of the food. Left with mixed opinions on the diner, but vowed to go back and give it another chance...On returning to Antennas and having a closer inspection of the menu, it was noticeably lacking and actually didn't appear to have many of the essentials that you'd expect from a diner, eg. Add ons for your burger, cheeses, sauces, bacon and such. Because of this, I ordered a hot dog again, but noticed that it was a lot smaller than the first and the flavour was lacking as well. There were several other unmemorable visits to the diner up to this point, but I just couldn't seem to let go of hope that it would be all that I wanted and all that the owners were aiming for. There was big talk of a menu relaunch for a while and me and my girlfriend were excited about that, still hopeful that the diner would succeed. We returned again, only to be majorly disappointed. The only additions to the menu were strange organic/vegan options, and a Mexican hot dog, as well as a slightly larger milkshake variety. Each time I visited, it seemed to be getting worse rather than improving, not to mention the fact that they had began to target families with young children by putting on all sorts of Disney films on their large screen television. It is a nice idea and all, but I think the owners have to have a think about who they are wanting to attract... Adults/young adults who are into veg and organic food, or children who are going to be loud, run a mock, and put other people off their dinner. It doesn't seem very well thought out to me. Obviously diners are going to attract children but the place was beginning to feel more like a Burger King play area than somewhere hip and up and coming that I (aged 26) would be interested in eating. In saying all that.. I returned again! This time to a positive experience. We had veggie breakfast and loved it, especially the free coffee re-fills! Service was particularly good on this visit as well. Finally, after thoroughly enjoying our visit to Antennas, we decided to return with a group of people visiting us from up north. We had been raving about our previous visit and decided to introduce them to Antennas. It was late on a Friday night and there seemed to be some sort of group party in taking over the whole establishment. Kids galore... Still, we were hopeful. Ordered some burgers and after a long wait, they arrived. I don't often eat meat from such places because I find it disappointing, but I wanted to give the new menu a chance. I am sad to say my burger was probably the worst I've ever had. It felt like a chore to be eating it as it was just so cheap, bland and flavourless. Nobody else in our party particularly enjoyed their meal either, with suggestions that the chips had been from frozen and that the burgers tasted like something that you could buy from Iceland. After a long wait for the bill, and a headache from the children's party, we left disappointed and won't be returning again...

Nice place, nice staff. Unfortunately the food was below average. The burger we ordered was overcooked and rubbery and flavourless. The Hot Dog for £9.50 should of been better. When mentioned to staff the barely eaten burger wasn't took off bill. It's a nice looking place but will need to do better when you can get really good gourmet burgers from Joanna's and The Exhibition Rooms also on Westow Hill.

Our second trip to Antenna and we were delighted again! This time, for breakfast - We had fantastic pancakes, maple syrup with the most perfect bacon! Yum. Fresh squeezed juices were delicious as well (we tried orange and the grapefruit). We were all very full by the time we left! All very reasonably priced, in a very cool diner. I would perhaps like the music to be a bit louder to get the full 'Peggy Sue' experience! (I don't think all the speakers were on). We'll be recommending to friends and we'll be back :-)

Have eaten here twice in last two weeks, once as couple and once with kids (16/14)... It is exactly what it says, a good place to have a burger/hotdog style meal... Food was good, although it only really does the basics, we enjoyed it. Service is by young kids who are quick and very friendly. Food came quickly both times and enjoyed by all.

It is the first and last time I will be attending the restaurant. The staff are friendly but service was terrible. They forgot to seat us once the table was free, they forgot our orders even after writing them down, they were slow and food came out in dribs and drabs. When it did arrive it was disappointing and not at all what I was hoping for. The burger was a dry slab of meat and not at all the quality I expected for the price we were being charged. All the effort went into the decor and not the menu or quality of food. It took ages to get the attention of the staff although they did not seem that busy; one was sipping a milkshake at the till and the other was sitting down nibbling the chips of a customer who was her friend...

The cheeseburger, and the bacon and cheeseburger were OK; juicy and tasty and cheesey and bacony, with plenty of lettuce and tomato and gherkin, and in decent bread too, which a lot of places fall down on. The chips were good too, they were those gently spiced branch fries which can be awful if not done properly, but these had been done properly. Onion rings on the side also, crisp and crunchy and un-greasy, and nice cole slaw too. Bottle of Coke for me, , bottle of fizzy water for herself, £23 in all. Service not wonderful, about 20 mins to wait, and done with a smile by efficient waitresses. But my God the décor is atrocious, done very much on the cheap, everything's been painted a deathly grey, and there's no ambience at all...

We have been a few times and we love Antenna's. The decor is great, a long with the music and the service has always been great, even when they are busy. They have always been so friendly and allowing us to have samples and telling us about new recipes that are coming up. We have tried the veggie and vegan burger and the mac and cheese - all delicious. They now have a special lunch deal which makes the prices much better, we find the portions huge but the food is delicious. The milkshakes are a must try - lovely for a treat. We did find the pancakes a bit disappointing but we keep returning. Must go and try.

I have no criticisms of the Antenna Diner and I am American. I wouldn't rush to go but it kind of hits the spot when you are in the mood for diner type food. I had the hot-dog which was tasty...comes with fried onions, fries, and cole slaw. All were tasty. My friend had the double burger and he said it was good as well. Milk shakes were excellent. I also tried the mac-n-cheese as a test and it was a very large portion with lots of creamy cheese. Needed some seasoning and all seasonings are on the table..so no issues there. I don't think this is a regular place to go but if you are in the neighborhood and in the mood for this type of food, you should go. Service was very friendly and fast.

Second time at this place. Was blown away by it the first time great food and great service. This time has been shocking. It took 15 mins to clear down a table. The counter 30 mins later is still covered in empty plates etc. This place seemed to close for a number of weeks so not sure what happened but the waiting staff have certainly changed and they are seriously lacking in organisational skills. The word sorry is used a lot. Last time my husband reckoned it was one of the best burgers he had. This time the food fell flat. Such potential please sort it out.

It's a great idea, abd one the triangle needs but it's not there yet. I had a hit dog and was hugely unimpressed. The bun was a bit stalker around the edges and the hotdog itself wasn't anything to write home about. My girlfriend had the burger and she was equally unimpressed. The service was good though.

Daughter and I had burgers - chilli burger and cheese burger. The burgers weren't great, dry and just thick bland pieces of beef mince. Daughter had a maple milkshake which she said was great. However, this was little compensation. Thought also food was pricey for what you got: would have been OK to pay this if the burgers were good. Do want the Diner to do well but my first visit is probably my last.

My son convinced me as a treat to go to the new American dinner called Antenna. I was a little dubious. I was a little concerned when they said the card machine was not working as this might be the start of things going a bit wrong. We ordered a veggie burger, cheesburger and a kids hotdog with two cokes (in bottle) and a milkshake.Good points - I was very impressed with the service by our waitress and the decor/booths was very interesting though the lighting was a little painful. The chips were very nice. The drinks were great so this leads me to be believe they may be great at deserts etc.Bad Points:The burgers turned up and the buns/rolls were what I could only describe as moist. The rolls were also small and looks like the sort you get from your local off licence. The veggie burger was fluorescent yellow. The kids hotdog was essentially a burger bun sliced from the top and half a hotdog pushed in with lettuce underneath. I don't mind a bit of lettuce put underneath the hotdog in but I haven't seen that in a hotdog before. The patty i guess was cooked about medium rare. This is fine but the mince had been so finely ground that the middle was mushy/chewy almost like a paste. I have never tasted a burger like it. I love burgers and eat a lot and this will go down as one of the worst. None of us finished even half our food though. SummaryWe paid our bill ( to be honest at £8+ for a burger i would expect a bit more) and left with mostly full plate. Hopefully we just got them on a bad night but by the time i got home I felt a bit ill and ruined my night. I will not be choosing to try risking them again though. Might be just a place to go for a milkshake!!

Great idea, love the decor and concept but service seems a bit disorganised. We were shown to our table and were then asked for our order 10 mins later when we hadn't even been given a menu! The waitress did offer to move us from the seated bar to a table which became free which was appreciated. The food was nice, I wouldn't say it was the highest quality though. Our plates were ready on the pass for a short while and it took 2 calls from the chef until a waitress was able to bring them over! We were then brought the wrong bill after waiting a while for it. Possibly teething problems as the place is new and I would go back to try the other items on the menu but they do need to sort out the service issues which can get a little bit annoying.

Maybe they should include a fry up with pancakes too.Service, very bubbly friendly staff. Toilets, unisex and spotless, as all should be.Price, dead cheap, there were 3 of us and the bill came to only £24, including drinks.I will definitely be heading back to try their burgers and hotdogs.

Finally got a table after two previous failed attempts, this place seems to be popular. Fantastic burgers! Really impressed with the mac n' cheese, and the key lime cheesecake was delicious!! Friendly efficient service, great atmosphere, and the decor was just what I'd expect from a modern 50s themed American diner. Clean, bright, spacious, and comfortable booth style seating . A brilliant addition to the triangle in Crystal Palace that offers great value.

The service was fast, just too fast almost like they didn’t want me to experience the full things, The double cheeseburger was nice and had so much flavour however, The chips tasted like cardboard and the stuff didn’t look like they didn’t want to be there.

Came here Friday night around 8pm and it was really quiet. We waited best part of 20mins to get served despite there only being three other covers in the restaurant and I had to go up and get their attention as the staff seemed busy socialising. Given how long we’d been waiting we had time to memorise the menu and ordered drinks and food at the same time. To our great disappointment when ordering we were told they’d run out of mac n cheese, chorizo and also most importantly buffalo sauce so couldn’t do any buffalo wings or chicken “monkey fingers”. The buffalo wings were what we were most looking forward to. Thus a rethink to our order was required. We both ordered a Dead Hippie Burger with bacon, some chilli cheese loaded fries and a slaw to share. The burgers are good but nothing special… fairly flavoursome, however, I did think it was arguably salt heavy without the balance of flavours I’ve had with other burger joints. The bacon patties must have the best part of 2-3 grams of salt per patty. Only one gherkin in the burger seems a little stingy or could be lack of quality control. The lettuce was soggy where it’s placed at the bottom of the patties, maybe a meatliquor USP to put lettuce below the meat? If it is… Doesn’t work for me. Loved the chilli cheese loaded fries. The Fries were still crispy and the flavours and mix of toppings worked a magical combination for the tastebuds. The slaw was fresh. Could have packed a little more zing and bite but in the grand scheme of things was a solid side. The Toffee Apple Hard Shake. One word. Epic! The Angelita Margarita was also decent. Would I return to MeatLiquor? I would another branch as I’ve been Brighton before and had far better service and the whole menu was available. Would not bother wasting your time with this one if you want Buffalo wings and attentive service. Food 5/10 Drinks 9/10 Service 5/10 Menu Availability 2/10 Decor 7/10 OVERALL 5.5/10
