Anson Farm in Stockton-on-Tees

We came for my daughter's birthday, and the atmosphere was amazing. It was very calm and welcoming. The staff were extremely polite, and there was a nice selection of food and drinks. My daughter had the Hunter's Burger, and she said it was to die for. I had the carvery, and it was beautiful – the gravy was proper gravy. We had cake, and they had an excellent selection with very generous portions. My son loves ice cream, and they had a great range of flavors. I would definitely recommend this place, and we will certainly be back for more.

Came this morning with a group of work friends, breakfast was good and the service was great. Staff worked nonstop. Will be returning.

Always love coming to anson farm for tea it’s a lovely atmosphere and reasonably priced, only downfall is I always struggle to book a table as the app tells me to ring and can very get through by the phone

Breakfast was lovely and great staff, It's nice when staff are chatty and have a bit of fun and banter with me, that to me makes me want to return. The member of staff who really stood out to me with he's customer service and personality was Nathan

Our first visit and we were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food from the carvery. Good selection of meats and vegetables. The lad carving the meat knew what he was doing and was very knowledgeable about the cuts of meat. Everything fresh and hot. Clean premises friendly staff and efficient service. Great value. Never left enough room for a desert.

We were here for our Christmas Day lunch and it was a lovely day. There were 11 of us, 9 adults and 2 children and every single person left stuffed and happy with the food and service. Great value for money and great atmosphere. I would also like to add how Sally who I believe is the Manager, made the whole experience so much more memorable and we would return again not just for the food, but because of how amazing Sally is. She is an absolute credit to that place. Hats off to you all. X

Lovely food and lovely area for children to play. Staff were polite and helpful. Children got free ice-cream with their meals!

I visited Anson farm last night with friends for tea and ordered the loaded chicken strips at nearly £9 , the portion size was a disgrace just big enough for a child and the drinks were sat on a tray on the bar for 20 mins before we got them , I saw another customer come and collect her own drinks tray. Even with staff shortages the food should still be value for money . Won’t be returning .

First time here but will be going back again very soon. The food was delicious, great value and plentiful. All of the staff were really helpful and friendly. We would definitely recommend to everyone. As for the cakes, well awesome is the only way to describe them.

We are glad we booked a table for 12 as it was for a 40th Birthday as the place was heaving, A long queue for the Carvery but it went down fairly quick,good choice of 4 meats and a large Yorkshire Pudding, hot veg , what more do you need, all the usual condiments on offer, staff are always cleaning tables when people leave, well done to all, the only comment, I thought the music was to loud on the night,Alan

I made a mistake when ordering our food through the GreenKing app and the manager Sally couldn't have been more helpful in sorting it for me. Her and her team are lovely. Observed manager -women just shouting at the team working with her they all only looked young it was very unprofessional for the company. She should not be a team leader !! Appeared under staffed and the staff looked stressed from this womens actions towards them my wife got a little upset from watching this Food dry tables full of dirty pots and not worth the wait or the worry this place is a sad mess

We came in for a meal outside yesterday and sat outside. Everything was explained to us clearly by Cameron who gave us excellent service throughout. We ordered at the bar from a young girl who served us with a smile. Cameron then brought out our drinks and meals and got us some cutlery and sauces. The food was perfectly cooked and delicious. He then cleared our plates and asked us if we’d like any deserts so we got some cakes to take away which were also delicious. Great service and great food

Took the mother here on Sunday with the wife for Carvery and the visit was brilliant. The meat was just perfect, the turkey melted in the mouth and the veg was cooked perfectly. I was too full after the carvery to even consider a dessert but there is a great range, especially the cakes which are huge. I was sat near the greeting desk and a couple of people had to be turned away due to been so busy. I recommend to book a table to avoid disappointment.

Came for a meal not really knowing what to expect and we could not have been happier with the service received, Sally, Jess and Libby were so friendly and helpful from start to finish. The food was also really nice, would highly recommend and will definitely be going back again. Even Roberto running around in and out of the kitchen was full of smiles.

Went for breakfast this morning & it was really nice. All the staff were really nice & helpful. You could see they were under staffed but didn't stop us getting great service! Food was really nice & great value for money. Will definitely be returning soon!

What a pleasure. Food buffet style and more than enough with large selection. Coffee/tea bottomless. What made it was the staff...they were pleasant and helpfull...they couldn't do enough for us.Especially a staff member Lisa, who was mostly on her own serving a big queue and was calm and collected throughout. Very impressed with this establishment.

Went to Anson Farm with seven members of family including 2 children. The food was delicious. The staff (especially Rob) treat the children like little adults, it was brilliant, he couldn’t do enough to help us. Would recommend this place to everyone

Visited today for lunch, service was great and the staff were really friendly, I’m a regular visitor for breakfast and lunch the food has been very good.

Lovely family friendly pub our little one ran around with other children whilst we had a carvery- nice food great value & delicious Ice cream .Quite a lot of the menu was unavailable. Drinks came just as we were finishing our meal but it was no issue . Would certainly visit again .

Rob pretty much looked after us. Nothing was too much trouble for me, my husband and 3 children. All the staff were lovely and helpful. Amazing value for money. Meats were perfectly cooked. The children ate for £1 as it’s the school holidays. They have a little ply area too. Fab for families. Don’t usually do reviews but thought these guys deserved it. Thanks guys

Booked online and when we arrived a lady with real attitude (very long fake green nails) couldn't find our booking, showed her my email confirmation then she abruptly told us we had a 45 min wait before we could be seated and the menu had been limited. her attitude and customer service was appalling. We didnt wait and wont be going back, i suggest they train this lady in customer service as its no way to greet customers.

Booked a table for family lunch today, were met by a lady with purple hair who asked in an aggressive manner "there is just the carvery today nothing else and if you want that it's a 90min wait". I explained that we had a booking for 3pm and the reply was "so has everyone else you need to wait your turn" Obviously did not stay, staff need to undergo customer service training and management need contingency plan in place in case if emergency......Will not return

My family of 8 had a lovely and very generous carvery! It’s great value for money. The service was fantastic, there were lovely staff who gave us some ideas on what we could do during our holiday in the area. Also the desserts were phenomenal and massive… try the giant eclair

Pleasant evening celebrating a family friends birthday meal/get together after lockdown. Food was limited but that didn’t bother us enjoying our evening as we had a lovely carvery and dessert and the service we received from rob was fantastic well done even though where short staffed. Food was delicious!

The food is lovely, can't fault it. I was disappointed with the childrens play area. It was filthy. If it was busy I could understand, as children are filthy! But there was only a few people in and the play area had dirty tissues all over and food on the floor. Staff can't keep on top of this area all the time, but there was just staff standing around so they had time today and it was just left.

While my 4 other family members went to get their food I was left sorting out my sons top trump cards with my 3 year old who loves to help unhelp with everything. At that the lovely table server brings our drinks within 10 seconds (new world record personal best)of the pint glass drinks of Dr Pepper being placed on the table.My little girl shouts “I’ll help you dad “ grabs at the glass closest to her and knocks it’s full contents it all over the table washing away my sons top trump cards along with my food ticket.Is it a bird !Is it a plane !No it’s super Gill cleaning the table next to me swooping in with her bionic blue roll !Above my shocked and surprised huffs and puffs of been caught out by my helpful unhelpful little girl again.Gill quickly calmed the situation with kind words of reassurance saying this happens all the time and proceeded to mop up order fresh drinks and inform the plater on the food line to look out for the poor tortured man with a soggy ticket which as it happened couldn’t be found.Needless to say Gill made sure I got my food. I appreciate it’s all customer relations and job description but In my 48 year I can count on one hand the willingness of a staff member to get stuck in and completely rescue a customer from a sticky watery fate.Gill absolutely made our visit one to remember not just for her out of this world super human initiative but for over seeing our food process from start to finish.Gill thank you for making my day, certainly better than it would have been without the bionic blue roll.GILL thank you for being such a lovely human in my moment of need.Great food, great experience will repeat in the not so distant future keep up the good work.Ps the top trumps made it out alive !

Considering we couldn’t order 90% of the menu the service was extremely slow. The staff seemed deflated and unbothered. The food (carvery, which is all you could order) was average at best. Just left with the overwhelming feeling of disappointment and that we had wasted money.

Came for breakfast this morning after quite an experience Else where and it was lovely food was fresh and hot from the buffet breakfast and the the staff sally and Sarah are amazing considering there was only the two of them I could not believe how fast friendly and professional they are !! I travelled quite a distance for breakfast with my family this morning and I will certainly visit again

After my last review I swore I wouldn’t return from an incident many years ago. Been 3-4 times recently for breakfast and whilst the service was slow. On one occasion we even had a friendly and astute server. Yesterday however, we never even got to cross the threshold. Turned away by staff because I don’t use the test and trace app. They stated it was the law. I’ve eaten here plenty of times before not having the app when restrictions were tighter. Asked to speak to a manager and staff member walked off. We left and I guess won’t be returning as plenty of other establishments can take us if we don’t have the test and trace app.We soon found somewhere else to go. Clearly an establishment ‘breaking the law’ allowing us in because we still didn’t have the track and trace app. Absolute nonsense and a wast of our time having to drive there then a second establishment. Lost us again and we eat out a lot for business meetings, family gatherings and with friends.

I went hear with my son yesterday for breakfast. Initially thought that kids eat for £1 covered all items but was told it only extended to the buffet. My son chose pancakes and I chose the buffet breakfast. I collected my food from the buffet and took it back to our table. Sadly the food was cold and I could only manage to eat the sausages and nothing else. Even the toast was stone cold. The lady opposite me also said that although her bread bun was warm her breakfast items inside her bap were cold and she didn’t eat hers either. I mentioned it to the waiter when I was asked if everything was ok and although they were apologetic they did not offer replace the meal or reimburse me for it at the time. I left disappointed and hungry. I did mention this to them on their fb page and to be fair the manager did try to tempt me back and rectify the situation, but as stated to him what would of been nice is if something was done at the time instead of me wasting my money and not being able to eat my food.

When we arrived, we were encouraged to order on the app. NEVER do this! By ordering at the bar, you skip any queue and instead we waited over 20 minutes for our drinks, which I had to go and chase up. Then queued for another 25 minutes in a packed restaurant where there was no social distancing and clearly people were being crammed in for take away orders to make the most money they could. Half way down the queue, noticed the staff preparing food on the floor. I spoke to the manager who advised she would address it but who knows how many people have ate food prepared on the floor today. I will never go back. Who knows what unsanitary measures are being taken out the back when food is prepped on the floor in front of people. Disgusting, unsanitary and uncaring.

Come here every week and the service is fantastic. Today we were served by Sally and Sammie and as always it was great service

Staff very friendly. Carvery lovely, bit slow only having one server but worth the wait. We commented on how cold the place was with air con. It was turned off but then turned back on again 5 minutes later so went back to being cold. Would have ordered desserts and more drinks otherwise. Will go back.

WELL, WAITED 40 min for a glass of water then asked if we can go get our food, NO, you will have to wait for someone to come and give us our tickets then another hour waiting at the carvery I SAID NO THANKS GIVE ME MY REFUND .GOT OUR MONEY BACK AND THE LADY WHO DID THAT NEVER SAID AM SORRY NOTHING SO DON'T GO TO ANSON FARM ' K F C TOP CLASS

I went for Sunday lunch and had a lovely time the food was great the service really good. We did have a little hiccup and pointed it out to Kim she immediately dealt with it in the most professional and courteous manner I must also say whilst serving us she was quick and efficient what a little trooper Kim was a credit to your team. Must drop a name Because without sally we wouldn’t of enjoyed our visit half as much she made it entertaining and made sure everything we needed we got told one member of staff my mams got anxiety and she only really likes to sit in a booth she came along and said no problem follow me couldn’t ask for a better staff member she needs a raise! Visited this place twice in last month. The food is great value for money and the service is always good. nothing is too much trouble from anyone you deal with.

Overall, value for money, lovely food and good service - from most of the staff.Unfortunately the last two visits we were served our vegetables (due to lockdown restrictions) at the carvery area by an arrogant member of staff. This particular member of the kitchen staff, doesn’t listen to what or how much of each vegetable you would like and chooses to ignore you when you clearly ask for more - as my husband politely asked for a little more gravy today. He comes across as resentful to have to serve you - which I would much rather do myself anyway.This is a shame, as the rest of the team couldn’t be more attentive and the restaurant is clean and spacious; however, we feel put off to book a table there again for a carvery while he is still working there!

Just been to Anston Farm for lunch, wow food was amazing, service excellent. Rob and the whole team couldn’t be more helpful. Every member of staff who severed us was polite and extremely helpful. No waiting time on food or drinks. My husband ordered from the golden oldie menu. Carvery very good value and he had brownie for his dessert. OMG I’ve never seen a piece so big, it was bigger than my hand. Even with two of us sharing it we couldn’t manger it all. Best of all they provide a take away box if you can’t finish it. Very easy to order either through the app or from the staff.

Just met up with my friend at Anson farm. Hadnt seen each other for months due to covid. Couldnt have picked a better place to do it. Staff were amazing and couldnt do enough for us. Will served us at the buffet he was so friendly and we definitely got extras. Not complaining! Rob was also very kind and proffessional checked all was good with our food and got us a tea refill. A very good atmosphere, friendly polite staff. Food was spot on. Can highly recommend. We will be back.

My partner and I visited on 8th June and both ordered a car very. My own wasn’t very nice and so I told the assistant manager Gill about this and she completely changed my view on coming back. Now thanks to her despite not having a carvery I enjoyed a nice lasagne courtesy of Gill. Wonderful service from a wonderful assistant manager! Will return again thanks to her

Quite possibly the worst 'family meal out' I've ever had. Booker in at 5.30PM, ordered by 5.40PM and the time of writing is now 6.30PM and only 2 of the party have received food. 40 minutes plus to be told you can go to the carvery is pathetic when it's arguably very quiet. Ordered the farmhouse grill with a med rare steak and it came out very well done so been clearly left under the Iights for the duration we have been waiting. We also work in a GK pub which makes it even more unacceptable knowing the values the company has. Very, very poor.

Went on Tuesday was really looking forward to it but the service we got was awful we made a mistake on the app and the lady was awful about it she stated we had been there 30 minutes so she couldn't change it and made us feel not welcome would not use this pub the lady was awful

Fantastic service from the moment we walked in the door and throughout the visit. Our waiter Alex was a superstar and couldn't do enough for us. The chef was lovely and tentative. They made adjustments to a drink to match our preference. Great job guys. Thanks!

Had a carvery for lunch today and both the food and service were excellent. In comparison to a carvery we had elsewhere earlier in in the week, the beef here was lean and tasted lovely, as did the rest of the meal that went with it. I don't leave reviews as often as I should, but this is definitely warranted. As always, the staff were lovely, and went out of their way to attend to our needs. See you again soon

We visited today and was greeted with a warm welcome. We were seated in one area however asked to move to another which was no problem. We didn't get the Hosts name however she was very accommodating to us moving tables.We ordered food via the app which was quick and easy.We were advised there was about a 30 minute wait for food which was fine with us. All staff were attentive, polite and accommodating.Food came in less than 30 mins.Overall the 5 of us enjoyed our time at the Anson Farm and will definitely be back.

There was a slight delay on food which is understandable given the current circumstances but food was lovely and so were staff. Choose to come here for the first time for our first meal out of lockdown and it didn't disappoint! We were served by Rob and he was the most friendly welcoming server, really helpful when we had any issues and would come back for his service alone. Food was lovely, and couldn't believe the size of the cake! Will definitely be back again.

Went today group of 4 friends first day of the place opening back up, fantastic service drinks/food service very quick. Got to mention the brilliant young gentleman who spent a lot of time running around for us, goes by the name of Alex. He was very friendly polite, nothing was too much for him, full of smiles and even had time to stand and chat and have a bit of a laugh, makes a huge difference to the miserable faces you see!
