We popped into Anson Farm for a classic Sunday roast, and it did not disappoint. The carvery was absolutely meat-tastic! Juicy roasts, crispy potatoes, and Yorkshire puds the size of your head – all cooked to perfection. I could’ve easily gone back for seconds... or thirds! However, there was a slight spoonerism when it came to toddler dining. When we asked for a bowl, we were handed what can only be described as a metal curry dish – not exactly a hit with my autistic daughter. Let's just say it didn't exactly bowl her over. Lesson learned, I’ll bring my own next time! Maybe they could dish out something a bit more toddler-friendly in the future. Despite the minor hiccup, we had a cracking time and left stuffed. We’ll be back – perhaps next time with a picnic basket full of toddler-friendly gear!

Great food great place and good value

Can't get hold of them. Have sent an enquiry through the website, have called and left a voicemail and have tried at least six times but just goes to same voicemail. All I want to do is book for Christmas!

Delivered on time and straight to the table. Very good quality but far too much food! However, it is not a criticism. Better too much than not enough. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal and will definitely order again. Might even go for a desert as well.

Come here today for tea the staff are great but the service is appuling waited 30 mins for desert ... 1 person on the till and a big que also doing the drinks .. dusnt ad up very dissapointed and spent nearly 100 pound

Today we came for a girls date for breakfast. We were served by a young man called shaun very polite he went above and beyond his customer skills were outstanding.

Lovely food, friendly staff, nice place to eat, and plenty of parking, love Anson farm been a few times and always enjoyed.

Thank you so much to the staff at Anson Farm on the 19th September who were so helpful- I pre booked a table for my family has I was finally meeting my granddaughter who was coming from Cheshire for the first time has well has my mums 87th birthday.The food was beautiful and staff went out of their way to help has two had mobility issues in all made it a very. special event so thank you :)

A decent place to visit for one of their carvery meals, always good quality food,slight drawback is that you do have to queue for a while to order food.

Nephew broke arm in play area not one manger member off staff helped just stood round looking play area needs more safety in places when asked for help was just looked at asif I was stupid shocking service no mangers help no staff help will not return gone right down hill carvery was empty and looked like it had been their all day and not topped up and waited 45 mins for two deserts which eventually were boxed up and that was just to get rid off us and the problem when we were asking for mangers and help was only bothered about getting our deserts bagged up to get us due to them not caring about the accident no accident forms first aiders nothing just 2 kids walking round clueless

Food was amazing, as always, lots of choice on the carvery, hot and fresh, very good! My only problem was the service. I have dietary issues and can't eat quickly, after 20 mins, the waitress asked if we'd finished. I said no. Literally, 10 mins later, she came again. I explained I can't eat quick due to stomach surgery so I need to eat slow. You guessed it, 10 mins later, she came again. The restaurant was empty, it was like 430pm, why she was pushing us out, no idea. I just gave up and stopped eating. Was a bit angry because there was no need really

£15 after they told the wrong meat all there was turkey carrots and parsnips and a little bit of mash to scrape out the bottom I usually come once or twice and month I will not be returning as it was the worst Sunday dinner of my life I had a few mouth fulls and left it so bland the toilets were disgusting walked straight out NEVER RETURNING

Thought of the farmhouse, the products are from farms. The sourdough sandwich from ready made sourdough. The service was so slow. Waiting for toast bread in a quieu after I got back to my table my coffee and eggs were cold. Coffee is from instant coffee. I did not like at all

Very impressive buffet style breakfast! We visited at 9.30am on a Bank Holiday weekend and there was loads of space available. The service was swift. The staff were friendly. The food tasted great, despite being relatively inexpensive. Couldn't fault it at all and will gladly visit again.

Could not fault the service and friendliness of the staff. They were very attentive. We had the carvery, which was lovely. The beef and pork was so tender, vegetables and gravy all hot, not luke warm like some other carveries. We went here after a bad experience at another pub in their chain. Thankyou to the staff at Anson Farm. Will definitely recommend.

Awful! Sent wrong meat on 1 of the dinners and missed the kids dinner off completely. Amount of gammon was pitiful! Roasties were rank! Not enough gravy at all! All had different veg on, none had mushy peas, 2 didn’t have a Yorkshire pudding. Will never order again, trying to get my money back now as it was that bad!

A nice quiet breakfast. Clean place to eat. Toast gets a bit too crispy left under the lights but that’s the only whinge. Veggie sausages were lovely. Good breakfast option for veggies and the unlimited tea and coffee make a difference. All round a very enjoyable morning x

Called in on a sunny Friday tea times Place was half full and the queue to the bar probably had more people in it than were sat down on the pub. Only had 1 member of staff taking food orders and serving drinks. Waited 25 minutes in queue to order then another 25 minutes for the food, what h was the saving grace as it was very tasty and wholesome.

Just had breakfast at Anson farm thornaby first time been there I was very surprised how nice it food was well cooked.

5 people had carvery on 8th August also 5 takeaway and 1 dessert. We got 2 slices of meat which were wafer thin and measured 3cm by about 7cm. I have never ever had such a small serving of meat anywhere on a carvery. The vegetables were delicious as always. The takeaway was lovely but we waited for over 20 minutes for the dessert and it arrived only after we chased it up. The dinner plates were not collected and were still on the table when we left.

You can order from the app at your table. Food is amazing. Staff are lovely. Very friendly.

Very disappointed I ordered extra pigs in blankets and Yorkshire puddings never got them food was Cold roasties was hard won’t be ordering again £31 total waste of money !!!

I know its a busy day today. But the lady who is wearing blue top at the till is horrible. You dont shout at a customer especially if theyre talking to you nicely. Food was nice except the service.

We use Anson Farm quite frequently as a family and it never disappoints! From breakfast to tea time, the food is always spot on and the staff are always super friendly.

Never going again dirty glasses I asked to change glass all of them were dirty I ordered the maccarni cheese with No cheese on it it was very bland so when I told manager she said they buy them in like that so now belive it was a microwave one and they charged8 quid for it never again avoid all cost food rotten

First time visiting the serene ambience of Anson Farm to pick up a food order and was immediately captivated by the gorgeous massive cakes on display. I couldn't resist and ended up ordering my birthday cake last minute. Sally, who was incredibly helpful, squeezed my order in and I was able to pick it up the next day. The massive carrot cake was absolutely divine!!! I am completely sold on Anson Farm. I decorated the cake with some cake accessories and it turned out beautifully. Thank you, Sally, for your exceptional customer service. I highly recommend Anson Farm!!!💯❤️

We had a fantastic meal at Anson Farm the other day. We were very warmly greeted by Sharon the Manageress and shown to our Table. We had Starters of Halloumi Fries and Chicken wings and they were freshly prepared, piping hot and delicious. For our mains we had farmhouse mixed Grill and a 9oz Ribeye, all of the meats on the Mixed frill were cooked to prefection and my Medium Rib Eye was cooked perfectly and so juicy and flavoursome. This was all washed down by 2 pints of Ice Cold Madri. Well done Sharon, keep up the good work, we will be back very soon.

Holy cow. We were at the Butterfly Experience 🦋 and were looking for somewhere nearby to eat. It was perfect. The food was absolutely amazing. Kid play area exceptional. My 4year old had the fish finger bap and was devoured. Husband and I had the carvery and put away an impressive amount of food. The gravy in particular was to die for. Highly recommend. If we weren't rushing for a flight we would have stayed longer!

Today the carvery I received was absolutely lovely. Everything was cooked right and everything was full of flavour. The gravy was also delicious and had a nice consistency.

Walk-in eaters that Sunday we tried to book a table but couldn't. Anyway we got seated the Sunday carvery was very nice. A very popular restaurant indeed shame the service at the counter was so slow as they were packing up takeaways at the same time as serving customers, which I think is bad practice. Never the less food was great and we will go back again. Bar service was also so.

Been a few times for a carvery and it was fine. Went in the other day when I was parked around the corner in the lorry to use the toilet and have a pint. 2 stalls 1 was filled to the brim with a thick brown soup and the other was only lightly sharted, desperate times I chose the better toilet. Mission accomplished I washed my hands in the sinks that seemed clean enough for a pub toilet. Headed out to the bar to have my well earned pint before bed but didn't seem to have any bar stools. Pub was fairly busy with customers enjoying a meal and I didn't want to take up a whole table to myself so decided to have a warm can of tennants back at the wagon. My £3.50 to £4 of business wouldn't of been missed but that's life.

Lovely little trip for a bit of breakfast with my daughter and her little ones. Food was great, friendly service as always!

We have been for lunch today (not our first time there neither), and as soon as we walked in, Sally greeted both ourselves and our little boy, she spent time chatting to our little boy who told her he was having turkey (the carvery). When we went to get the self service carvery, she made sure he got extra turkey, because he loved it so much. It's little things like this that make the customer experience lovely. Food was lovely and came after a nice place in the newly refurbished soft play area, which my son loved 🥰 they also do blue light discount, so great bargain!

First ever visit. Wanted to go somewhere different for our 35th Anniversay. We were not disappointed. Service and food pretty prompt. Nice hot meal. Lemon cheesecake was exceptional. Next visit will be trying carvery.

Went with daughter and my son in law for carvery at 2:30 on a Monday,it wasn't as busy as I expected, no wait to be served and pay for meals and drinks either, food was absolutely perfect but left no room to try the cakes. 😞 Small carvery next time and a slab of the fine cake.🙏

Arrived today for lunch and was greeted by two lovely ladies sally and Sharon and the were both very accommodating and were able to get us a table despite being busy and us not having a booking …. They couldn’t have been more helpful… a credit to the buisness 😁 And the food is delicious too the best carvery around

Nice pub with good atmosphere, play area for kids recently refurbished with a slide etc. Children’s meals well priced with a free scoop of ice cream. Haven’t tried the carvery yet….but looks very good!

How can a carvery restaurant not have any sort of peas on It defines logic Beef like rubber Veg well cooked and hot Gravy lovely Roast nice but some were nearly black why not check them before serving to people Definitely not worth £11 If you want people to come check your food first

Food was amazing , reason behind low score was the poor deployment of staff , one person taking orders at the till when the queue was almost 30 minutes wait, it should be all hands on tills from the floor staff like other venues and then concentrate on walking about asking people if the food was OK. Very poor team management.

This weekend I finally got the opportunity to visit Anson Farm. I first heard about this place a few years ago. And it painted a picture in my mind of free range chickens running free through grassy fields. Locally produced eggs, milk etc. After further conversation at a later date I was told this wasn't the case. But having said that I've heard they do a decent breakfast! I haven't tried the food as I only visited for drinks with some old friends (old as in I've known them a long time, not that they are elderly). Reasonably priced and a decent atmosphere. I'd happily visit again. Although they did close a little earlier than expected on a Saturday due to being quiet.

Wouldn't recommend there carvery it's horrible and no where near as good as Toby's or other carveys in the area they also took nearly half hour for a bit of cake that they had to refund me on because they run out

Fast service on a Saturday dinnertime, food was lovely and hot. I had the steak and ale pie. Staff really friendly and good with my 2.5 year old.

We reserved a table for 14 and when we arrived it was to 4 seperate tables in the same vacinity as each other in an L shape. Each table only fit 4 to a table meaning that people were sat with their backs to each other. To top it off there was music blasting loudley and people were having to yell to the next table over just to be heard so it was not the pleasent family catch up meal we had planned. If you cant seat 14 people together a booking for 14 should not have been taken. The floor under the tables was a mess covered in dropped food. The tables and menus were dirty and the noise level coming from the play area was awful with unsupervised kids running riot. There was also several flies divebombing us throughout our stay. Trying to get served was a nightmare. Staff seeing people stood waiting yet standing around talking amongst themselves while customers are waiting is unprofessional. There only seemed to be one till working and one person taking orders so the que and wait time to order just a drink was awful. The bathroom was dirty with toilet paper all over the floor and broken locks on the toilet door. We were so disgusted with the noise levels and poor service that we left early and went elsewhere for dessert and drinks. Not one of the 14 said they would ever return to Anson Farm due to the poor experiances we had.

Friendly staff , great food at a great price. My last visit consisted of my wife having the lasagne which she said was the best she had had in years in a pub environment. I had the full English breakfast it was extremely filling. We also got the chocolate cake to have later in the evening with a cuppa. I would definitely recommend the anson farm for food and drinks

The food is always amazing, the reason for the low score it the queues to get served are so slow, not enough staff on the tills and then having to join another queue for the food. The staff fon the food counter need to watch people closer, some scruffy git in front of us was picking stuff up with his fingers , dropping stuff on the floor and eating off his plate while still putting more on his plate. It put me off my food.

Delivery driver had wrong address. Didn’t understand directions on phone as he didn’t speak much English, had to be shown by passer-by when to deliver food to. Also food was disgusting, all frozen chips, peas, carrots. Root veg pie was Mediterranean tomato and didn’t go with the gravy. Went in the bin. Won’t be ordering from Ansons Farm again.
