Food is very bland burger was disgusting and chips must have been cooked in months old oil I told the sever when she collected out plates and she just said okay after I said why we left the food wouldn’t go back again only positive is the kids play area

Just had the worst experience in a pub meal ever. Carvery was overcooked and just turkey or beef. Dirty chicken burger overcooked and chips reheated and dry complained and replacement no better. Chicken select meal dry and breasts small crisps. Service at bar half hour wait although 6 in queue. When we arrived noise from child play area excessive. We had children in our party so a level of noise acceptable but this was screaming and no attempt to chastise made. Reserved notices on lots of tables but this appeared To be table areas which had been cleaned and not made available for a change to avoid the unbearable child area. Service very poor. 10 people wont be back

Over priced mush, too loud and staff didn't help. We first came in and booked a table for my friends birthday and their biggest table was next to the kids area. All the kids was screaming at the top of thier lungs, and one of our mates was scared of being hit by a child. Non of us could concentrate on what we wanted to order. I asked staff if there was anywhere else and she couldn't be bothered to help and pretty much ignored me. When we got our food, we had to send it back as the chips was over cooked and tasted like nothing. One of our mates was left with out food while everyone else ate. He got his food back and it tasted like nothing even the burger tasted like nothing just it's sauce, even the Yorkshire pudding tasted like nothing. I will not be coming again it's too expensive for mush and food that tastes bland. Ignorent staff and bad seating.

Went for Christmas Dinner and I must say was fantastic.... Great good, great atmosphere and staff were excellent and helpful.... well done and defo be back Xmas day nex year.

Had a fantastic experience, the venue has plenty of parking and is a large establishment, inside the place is a kids play area which was fantastic for us as the kids could play while we ate. The service was top notch and the food we ordered was decent, large portions and again the serve was very good. The best this about this place is the desserts, the slices are enormous and the chocolate fudge cake took me back to school, absolutely sublime.

Paid 60 pounds for Christmas dinner. Half was burnt, half was mush. Beef was tougher than leather. Missing things from the starters. Staff were swearing and calling other staff names. I was disappointed as I couldn't eat dinner. We waited 40 minutes to finally get a table, and we were rushed to leave. It was the busiest I've seen it. I thought paying that much for a carvery would have come with some benefits of nice food and less waiting around. The only good thing was the cake we took away in boxes to actually enjoy at home without the awful atmosphere. It's an absolute shame. Had a boxing day Christmas dinner at home to make up for it all for £40 for the 4 of us but nearly £300 down for the Christmas dinner experience 👎

Lovely place and a really great carvery, top notch!

Absolutely tasty and well prepared vegetarian Carvery. Was a fantastic experience to have vegetarian gravy which could complement our food (don’t get this option any may other places). Service provided by Megan was fabulous. Very professional and pleasant person! Thanks again. Will come back again!

Had a good experience, food was good, staff friendly, helpful and professional.

Took my team here for breakfast the other morning, food excellent and refreshed often. Service first class. Not rushed we sat for a couple of hours eating and chatting. Refilled my plate several times and each one as good as the last. Will defo be back.

Lunch visit Pleasant atmosphere. Seated by a waitress who explained the carvery and menu options. Menu orders came promptly and carvery was efficient A pleasant experience. Recommended for a quick and affordable meal

Great snacks when you're not up for a full meal

I had previously left this restaurant a 5* review prior to its change of ownership to Greene King. In recent years, it seems that they've become more short-staffed and the training to staff is poor. At the carvery station, a member of the team had told me what options were vegan before another member corrected them. This is a serious offence for a restaurant and a breach of trading standards for their staff to be advertising something as vegan when it isn't. I forgave that mistake as it was caught. However, I visited last night and have been violently unwell since. I suffer from severe lactose intolerance and I'm convinced the uneducated staff have used the wrong mayonnaise. I have tried to call Anson Farm 3 times today to no avail so I have raised the issue with Greene King who have launched an investigation. I will never be coming here again and I advise everyone else not to bother too.

Absolutly love this place...was a busy Saturday but staff can not do enough for you and always friendly and polite...food was gorgeus...had the carvery but you can pick off normal menu if you prefer and my 3 year old boy luved the play area. Luvly afternoon ...deffo be back

We went for birthday breakfast was minimal staff on. Served by chloe at the bar nice n friendly. 3 buffet breakfast a d drinks. Went to the buffet no staff available Chloe came off the bar to sort us our couldnt do enough for us x when she she cleared out plates. Asset to the company and smashed it this morning . Deserved recognition today x

Nice, simple fayre, good pricing on the main menu, negative that the cake size ridiculous and its pricing too.

It's pretty good here. Unfortunately no dogs are allowed inside, you can sit outside with them (shame there isn't an area inside too). I have bought a takeout breakfast from here before. Great value. You are given a takeout box and can choose what to put in it (I only did takeout because I was on my own with a dog, I'm sure sitting in would have been lovely too)

Had lunch here today with my sisters service was excellent from all staff ,we are all seniors we enjoyed the two course menu the apple crumble with custard was so tasty we will definitely be back staff a credit to the company so friendly and professional

Unfortunately, despite the restaurant being a 4 min drive from my address, the food was cold leading me to believe it had been sat prepared for some time before picked up. It was really tasty though, so the cool temperature was a shame

The food is always amazing, the reason for the low score it the queues to get served are so slow, not enough staff on the tills and then having to join another queue for the food. The staff on the food counter need to watch people closer, some scruffy git in front of us was picking stuff up with his fingers , dropping stuff on the floor and eating off his plate while still putting more on his plate. It put me off my food.

Nice place very busy when visiting

Our server Chloe was fantastic, organised a new table due to booking error, indulged our dad with taking a family photo and was pleasent and attentive for the whole visit, she made the day so much better, will be visiting again.

30th Nov we came as a family and chloe our server was amazing, she is a totaly asset to the restaurant and we are going to book for Dec for family Xmas lunch and we hope to see her again, thank you Chloe for making our visit a great experience 😊

Very nice food and staff. However I was shocked to see that jam and marmalade are no longer available (even to buy) and the toast is therefore inedible as it is cold when brought to table.

Had the vegetarian carvery with a potato and cheese pie - it was very yummy. Service was lovely too, very helpful staff.

Food was not edible what so ever beef looked like it had been left in the sun a week it was that burn and dry, roasties and parsnips burnt black and as hard as a brick photos taken absolutely shocking

Had breakfast here. Staff were polite and professional and the food was probably the best tasting cooked breakfast I have had in some years. First visit, will not be my last.

You will never go to the Toby again for a carvery.The carverys are beautiful and tasty constantly bringing fresh food out.The menu is great too had different things off there never had a bad meal here Keep it up

Anson Farm is a nice place to visit but on this occasion there were a few issues. We ordered two standard carvery's at £8.99 each and one all day breakfast for £10.99. So i went to the bar to order and was kept waiting for 10 mins due to the long queue. The poor girl serving was pulling pints for customers. My turn to order. Served quickly and politely. At the carvery we were both allowed two pieces of meat each!! The brussel sprouts, which i love, were tough and undercooked and i ended up with stomach ache later on. The mashed potato was cold by the time i ate it and the roasties were that hard i couldn't get my knife to cut them easily. I think the issue here is, you need to be in the early queue at 12 noon when they start first serving the carvery. The staff do seem thin on the ground, but on saying that they do serve the customers well. You just have to be patient. The all day breakfast was very expensive for what you got but then doesn't everything seem to be rip off Britain nowadays. Don't get me wrong, i do appreciate hard working staff and they do have to work very hard here, but lesson learned from me, get there at noon.

Fabulous carvery we have been going every week for years!

Lovely experience from walking in, and been taken to our seat straight away, the food was lovely and plenty of options available. We only had the carvery and were to full to try the cakes!! Megan our server was really friendly and chatty and made the experience. Thank you Megan 🙂

Great pub food, been a few times now but one of the things I love the most is the cakes. Oh my word they are amazing, and the size of them, they are huge ( especially the fresh cream eclair) . I highly recommend this pub but if your going over a weekend book a table as it gets very busy.

I really enjoy visiting Anson Farm for catching up with friends, grabbing a bite to eat and playing a few games. Pretty nice atmosphere - sometimes it can be really busy but I suppose it depends on time of the year as I understand a lot of families dine here and they can provide great offers and deals for parents with their children. Great location and no problem getting a parking space. It’s great being able to order food on the app. Meals arrive very promptly after ordering which is great! I’ve also done the breakfast takeaway collection - tasty and excellent value for money. Looking forward to my next visit!

We come quite often for tea, first time for breakfast. Good variety on offer, all cooked well, and our son loves the handy play area while he waits for his food.

Came in for a breakfast buffet while my van was getting serviced nearby. This is the 3rd time I’ve been in for breakfast and each time it’s been spot on. The staff are always friendly and smiley. The breakfast itself has a wide range of food and the buffet is fairly priced.

Had a lovely coffee and lunch here. Staff were very efficient and friendly, especially Mick. It was our first visit here but we will definitely be back. Thank you.

I visit here for breakfast with my friend every month or so for the last 15+ years and it never disappoints. The food is plentiful, there is unlimited tea and coffee for a small sum, and the staff are amazing - always helpful. We were served by Megan today and she was lovely, very friendly and very helpful.

Beautiful food, wonderful service, great atmosphere. Been here loads of times and always the same, gorgeous carvery, helpful staff. We sit in the family area as I have 3 children, lovely when they can play and you can eat, I get the carvery every time and never disappoints!

Had a lovely meal with friends. Very family friendly with great staff. We had an issue with a pepper shaker but it was quickly and resolved no question. The members of staff we encountered were firstly Kallan behind the bar, then Mick. Everyone we came across were kind, patient and friendly

Ordered a non gluten menu which was supplied but a dry jacket spud with a cheese burger no coleslaw or anything,when you advertise the non gluten options and there's isn't a very good choice , 😕 wasn't impressed at all

Busy Saturday afternoon our reserved table was available early - ordered via the app and service and food was very good. We did feel that Staff were overworked and there was definitely not enough staff for the volume of customers.

Breakfast. White Toast was far far too crunchy. Just snapped to bits and it’s not the first time. The background music is terrible. Other than that all other foods were ok. Mushrooms were lovely.

Chloe attended to us very well, excellent service, short wait and good food.

Cannot praise enough the incredible service provided to me today and on prior visits by Megan Trott, evermore incredible is the service level from one so young. Megan remembers our visits and always aids with the elder visiting with us, goes above and beyond without having to be asked, I have commented prior to Sharon and her husband. The new managers of how helpful Megan is, for certain if I still had my business I would be offering Megan a career But if a rare find these days a certain Manager in the future, get on that course Megan you are amazing. Love our visits food always wonderful. Sally and her team too are all brilliant. Well done to all.

Great service, friendly staff and lovely food

Always a lovely carvery in here. Nice roomy pub, but I will say the service is so slow. Never understood why there is only ever 1 member of staff at the bar with a queue a mile long waiting to be served. That’s the only thing I’d say needs improving. Don’t think it’s fair on the people sitting opposite the bar to have to put up with people queuing up alongside them while they’re trying to eat.

Great carvery and lovely helpful staff

Had a carvery. The food was barely warm, some veg had been under the heat lamps too long so was starting to shrivell up, the gravy was cold. All in all a very disappointing waste of money. Won't be going back. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars, rather than one, is as the staff were friendly and helpful.
