Anoki in Derby

Went tonight for the first time with my girlfriend and we loved everything about it. Everyone we spoke to was so nice and friendly especially or waiter. A nice menu with plenty of options that we was spoilt for choice. Had some starters and mains which came out quickly with excellent presentation and tasted so good 🤤 Will be going here again for sure but torn to order the same again as it was s good or tray some other items on the menu.

They were a little busy Saturday evening, but consider that a good thing. Service and food 🥝 were excellent. I liked the ambience too.

Unpleasant and sweet flavour to Tikka. Pilau rice tasted like plastic. Overcooked chicken appears to be reheated. Garlic naan is not garlic dough, just a plain naan with garlic bits on. Three small samosas for £5.95. Do you have a Michelin star we don't know about? Ordered chips, delivered half a portion of stale fries. To their credit the mediocre Poppadoms and Saag Paneer pulled it back to 1 star. First and last customers. Impressive.

Drove past this restaurant a few times, of which it caught my eye because of the exterior design and the ambience of the inside. I’ve always been a fan of Indian food and this just heightened how much I enjoy it. Decided to go this afternoon and to be honest I felt a bit underdressed, it was really well set up and the atmosphere was great although there wasn’t many people there (because of the time of day we went), the service was great and to top it all off the food was nothing short of amazing 🤤 will be going back there soon for sure.

Been going to Anoki for a number of years. Food is always amazing. We’ve taken friends family and customers to Anoki because the service is also brilliant. Hot Chilli Fish is unbelievable and Lamb desi is a favourite of ours

Exceptional. Absolutely, exceptional. We went at 4pm in a Saturday, and the mains were 2 for 1, which made it cheap. At the end of the day, it's a 2 star mich for a reason - and the reason is that they don't put salt or sugar in the food. It's absolutely excellent and the layers of spices will tell you that. Plus they wear traditional dress. The menu is succinct, but you can ask for whatever you want given the items are there .

The quality of food is amazing, the environment and atmosphere very positive and very welcoming.

Food is great, and I order from here all the time!! At least twice a week So it was very disappointing when they just rung me to tell me my food is going to be late and asked for a free poppadom and they said no.

A warm welcome and fantastic service by Yas. Lovely surroundings, plenty of tables and a nice menu. Food arrived quickly, was a good size portion and tasted amazing. The flavours were exceptional and there was plenty of food size chicken that was very tender. The Indian dessert was great too, with warm and cold combinations working very well. There's street parking nearby too, so made all for a great experience. Highly recommend, 10/10. I'll certainly visit again.

Had a lovely birthday meal here at the beginning of December. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. The food was one of the best Indian's I have ever had. Very flavoursome with large portions - we ended up taking some home with us. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion, we will be returning!

2 items missing resulting in 2 family members having to eat separate whilst celebrating my Mums birthday. I'm far from impressed. Offered free poppadoms by way of an apology. Shocking

Terrible. You can tell they use the same base gravy for every curry option on the menu. The desi lamb had no flavour and the tikka masala was horrendous.

Order took 1 hour 50 minutes and needed heating. Really poor service especially when already had told us would be delayed by 20 mins and then still another 15 mins after that. If food had arrived on time and hot would have been good.

The food and service are both outstanding at Anoki ! The waiters are friendly and always willing to help . The decor of the place is fabulous.

Ordered a takeaway from there yesterday and after a few pieces that tasted a bit too tender I saw how undercooked the meat was!! Almost raw!! Will never be ordering or going again.

It was for my birthday meal and everything was amazing I’m so glad we went there and I can’t wait to go again.

Well that’s me never going to Anoki on London road ever again!! Got a gold card and expecting to get 50% off which it states on the back of the gold card. Got the bill at the end of the meal to discover our meal is apparently over £80 when the normal menu it only comes to £50ish. Staff applied 50% off for me to end up paying £54. What they do is slash the bill by half then add drinks and service charge on top. Doesn’t state that in the T&C’s. Very cheeky!! Gold card is a scam.. won’t be back!!

We have always received exceptional food and service from Anoki. Never had a bad meal in 30 years of dining with them.

This is the second time I have been to Anoki first one being my Son and his wife's wedding and yesterday 9/11 for my daughter-in-laws 40th Birthday (Raza Rushton) I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Me and my husband don't eat spicy food so they looked after us with a nice chicken & chips and main meal was Lamb and greens. Would recommend these for the food, service and the atmosphere,they make everyone welcome Thank you to everyone involved

Turned up 45 minutes late stone cold and refused to give a refund

Came from Leicester about a 45 min drive and it was well worth it. Food was lovely, staff were so friendly and attentive checked on us made the experience better. Not keen on fish however the fish they served us was so good would defo return. Lamb chops cooked to perfection, drinks lovely and butter chicken 😍

Had a lovely meal at Anoki Derby on Thursday 17th Oct celebrating their 21st anniversary. We opted to have poppadoms, hot chilli fish, lamb chops, lamb saag and keema with potato from the 2 courses for £21 menu. Our waiter Amir was superb, we will be returning to Anoki in the near future.

Honestly cannot recommend this place enough. We know our curries and feel so lucky to live close by to such a different Indian restaurant experience. We went last night for the all inclusive meal with drinks. Service was friendly and knowledgeable with recommendations that were amazing. My husband said his mixed grill starter was the best he'd ever had - and we've eaten in some great places so this was high praise indeed. He was converted to fish curry having been offered a complementary taster. My lamb chops were flavour some and tender. Our mains were also excellent - I have something different each time and have never been disappointed, the quality and flavours are always top notch. The drinks package was great with plenty of choice. I very rarely take the time to leave a review but Faz and all the team deserve recognition for the exceptional service and food they provide. Well done! See you again soon.

What a wonderful place to have dinner and celebrating our kids birthday. Desi chicken was amazing, Lahori lamb ghost was delicious, Paneer kadahi was absolutely magnificent. We enjoyed every bit of our time there. All the staff is very friendly and polite. Our server Faz got impeccable attitude, he is asset to Anoki. We would like to come back for same foods and service.

In town with family needed a bite to eat and Anoki was suggested as a good place to go. They were so right . The staff were excellent a warm welcome, very attentive whilst not being rushed. The food was excellent, flavours were balanced and traditional. The building has been renovated to a high standard, quite beautiful. The cost of the meal was excellent value.

I ordered chicken madras, boiled rice, chips and poppadoms with pickle tray. Food was very nice and freshly cooked., the chips were reheated but overall tasty.

Visited Anoki many times and it never fails to impress. Went for my sons birthday, he's a pilot, eats in restaurants all over the world, but whenever hes home, it has to be Anoki, they do the best curry, the best service, and with Faz's help, the best overall experience!

the thing is you are paying restaurant prices so the food should be restaurant quality, but not today, today this half went in the bin, hard chewy recooked chicken. think I'm over Anoki sadly.

Still waiting it never arrived !

We booked a table here for our anniversary, but when we arrived it was closed. My husband rang the branch in Burton and we were told they had tried ringing people to let them know the Derby restaurant was closed, but clearly they didn't try very hard. I don't understand why they decided to leave customers stranded without answers?! They had our email address as well, but clearly couldn't be bothered and decided to let us find out for ourselves. The customer service from the start was horrendous. I've had this rant on the page for the restaurant in Burton, as that is where we ended up. The staff there didn't seem too fussed either. Since that visit I have rang them, messaged them and emailed them and have had no response. It feels like they only care about the food and not the customer experience as a whole. People spend a lot of money when they visit here and to just be ignored on several occasions is pathetic customer service. Very disappointed and will not be back.

Had another takeaway from here last night waited 1hr for food to arrive that I think is acceptable problem was that at £66 not cheap but then go find the 2 portions of rice missing again and ruined our night for about the forth time now I decided to fold up my gold card send it back with the rice when it finally turned up

Food took nearly two hours to arrive. Rang the restaurant and the lady was so helpful but informed me that on a Monday comes from Burton. Was told would be 15 minutes and was still another 35 minutes. Naan bread and lamb curry stone cold

We have dined here a few times over the years and thought it was time to write a review. As always, the food quality and quantity are outstanding, and I cannot fault the team as they always go out of their way to make it special. For example, on our last visit, they brought out some free desserts which were exceptional. I have to mention Nas, as he went above and beyond to make the whole experience spot on. They always end the meal with some chocs, after eights and imperial mints which are sublime! They give a feedback card and pen everytime, which means they care about our feedback in order to improve the experience in the future. On a slight negative note, I personally think the decor is starting to look a little tired, but I am being picky here. Overall, if you want fantastic indian cuisine and service, this is the place to be.

Visited this place for my Big 60 with friends and family the food and restaurant was very nice only downside For us was disability access to the dining room upstairs was by a lot of steps asked if could use the downstairs Restaurant they said we would need to pay extra so I don’t recommend for disability. Also staff did not interact with you no greeting on the way in or out and there were 17 people in our party spending a considerable amount Of money on food and drink other thank that all good and had a great time anyway

Definitely microwaved curry that they offer as the buy out option. Curry we got was cold, onion bhajis hard like they’d been warmed up a few times. Only thing that tasted fresh was the naan. They also forgot our starters.

Simply amazing. First time here, and the food was the best curry I’ve had in a very long time. They made our anniversary such a wonderful experience. The chicken makhani was one of the best curries I’ve ever eaten! Thank you for a wonderful evening!

I have been coming to Anoki since my daughter started University here three years ago, so it was only fitting that we celebrated her graduation there last night. The staff were fabulous and welcoming, as always. They recognised us from previous visits, and congratulated my daughter on her achievement. The food was absolutely divine! I cannot recommend it highly enough. Packed full of flavour and excellent value for money.

Have been coming here for the last 12 years as our son moved to Derby. Moved away now, but the food is so delicious & totally different to anything else we have ever had, we've made the visit twice a year so far, its that special. They always remember us & the service, atmosphere & staff add to the experience. No other Indian cuisine for us, simply & utterly superb :)

We ordered the Euro Set Menu for home delivery, it was the best Indian I have had so fresh and fast delivery, the food was packaged well and such good value for money, would highly recommend 😃

The food was half hour late and when it arrived it wasn’t very warm. The chicken was very tough and the naan bread was very greasy. For a top restaurant, it was very disappointing food. Will not be going there again

Probably the best Indian we have had the kindest most down to earth people especially Faz and his friend I forgot his name they did give it to me 🤣there team is great the food was 10/10 they even make me something that wasn't on there menu, there big portions. My partner revered to Islam two year ago and we told them his story and they went completely out there way to give us a generous gift . We will definitely be visiting again soon 🙂

Brilliant place, it’s like taking a step back in time to the good old restaurants where you can go for a proper curry, not these new ones. Faz our server is brilliant, apparently only been here for 8 months but looks like he’s been here for years. King prawn karahi is a must try honestly
