Empire Tandoori Takeaway in Derby

Saying it’s on its way and the restaurant is 10 mins away and then takes another 30 mins - disappointing!!

Lovely food, great communication, good prices and decent delivery times, would definitely recommend.

Arrived bang on time, lovely and hot and very tasty

Just eat sent a message stating it was on its way at 6pm but when I called at 6.35pm it was only just leave the shop

delivery was spot on but the food turnt up absolutely cold we had to re heat it and then it wasn’t enjoyable as been reheated 🤦‍♀️

Not good takway and not good one star

This curry is by far one of the best we’ve ever had!! Also (Get a naan bread with cheese!!)

Best curry around Sadly not any more was 5 star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This take away has been taken over by the tamarind (next door). Used to be one of my favourites but not anymore. Quantity halved quality not as good. I can't give it anything more than average. 😪

Amazing food for a casual night out. Amazing attentive service from the staff and some of the best onion bhaji's we've ever eaten! Only problem we had were the popodom's weren't great but the chefs weren't even in at the time!

Used The Empire for years and always good Wouldn't go anywhere else around here....but 3 times we've ordered lately and have been dissapointed. One poor meal, one no answer and last night delivery man gave up trying to find us! What's going on guys?

After hearing such reports we were in two minds whether to order from here. It appeared to get freshly made and really tasty. I'm very critical if food isn't how it should be but it was lush.

We ordered last night and had the two set meals the food was amazing they didn’t mind swapping the rice for chips and the Nan for a cheese and garlic one! Excellent customer service the food was tasty and hot my favourite Indian thank you once again for a lovely meal it never disappoints

I had a chicken saag, it tasted very bland, no flavouring. Pretty disappointed. I'm giving 2 stars for the chap serving who was very friendly. Will not order again

Excellent food everytime highly recommended

Ive been ordering from the empire for a few years now and thought it was time to do an honest review, the food was delivered on time, hot and fresh. The special naan is probably the best naan ive ever had, curries and rice were full of rich flavour. The lamb was tender and chicken tikka was lovely.

We have tried most of the mains on the menu and have never been disappointed. The food is always delivered very promptly and arrives piping hot. The lamb dishes are particularly delicious and the meat is tender and tasty. The chefs have a brilliant way of blending the spices to ensure it compliments rather than masking the food. Delicious!

Don't waste your time or money on this place. I've had a few bad/mediocre Indian takeaways before but this one takes the spot for the worst. My partner had a korma which I know is usually bland but this one had almost no flavour, as well as having the colour of a Thai green curry. I had a madras which is usually my favourite curry yet this dish was disappointing in all aspects; the consistency was almost that of a ramen broth and the chicken seems like it was boiled far far away from any spice or seasoning. The madras also lacked flavour, I started to believe that I had contracted COVID-19 due to the lack of taste but my worries disappeared when I tasted the only flavoursome item that I ordered which was the lime pickle. Judging by others reviews I thought that ordering from Empire Tandoori was a good idea but I was obviously mistaken, I'll just assume that today was an unusually bad day for the chef and that your food is usually delicious.

Fast delivery. Really good, restaurant quality food with generous portions. The food is definitely above the standard takeaway selection and tastes freshly cooked. Definitely will use again.

Ordered the set meals, tandoori chicken starter hot puri, chicken 2 chicken madras, chips wow best curry I have had in a long long time! £11.50 each for two starters two mains two chips or rice and a cheese and garlic nana, this offer is only on a Tuesday and Wednesday!!! Can’t wait to order again!!!

Ordered a chicken korma curry and a chicken madras curry both curry’s you couldn’t cut the chicken nor chew it was inedible, after paying nearly £30 for something we couldn’t eat, I rang the restaurant to complain no solution was offer just spoken to rudely and made out to be lairs by the manager!

1st time I've used this takeaway, I didn't think my normal takeaway could be beaten but as it's closed used Empire. Absolutely delicious and it came within the time given, 10 out of 10, I'll defo be returning. Thank you

Very nice not sure if there’s a new chef but the food tasted better, they listened to our request on the just eat app, plenty food, the starter was plentiful only a tiny niggle was the pakora batter had little seasoning but I wouldn’t score against that. Definitely will Order again so thank you 👍

Excellent takeaway, nice food, good portions, nice friendly staff. I don't know of any other takeaway in Derby that just makes curries. The benefits of a fine restaurant in the comfort of your own home.

We had a takeaway from here last night, was not good. We ordered a Chicken Rogan Josh, it did not taste good, we will not be ordering again from here!

First and last time we’ll be ordering from here. We had a chicken dupiaza and rogan josh, both were just chicken and tomato in a thin sauce with no spice whatsoever. The rice was dry, the tandoori roti was so doughy and inedible, and the rest was just terrible. Would not recommend.

I can say without any doubt the worst curry I've ever had, chicken rogan josh was just chicken and tomato no curry whatsoever. The Roti was so doughy and virtually inedible. A terrible experience spoilt my meal totally.

Have been using this Indian for takeaways for years always decent until the last couple of times , tonight is the final straw , veg rice was bland and tasteless as was the fish curry and Bombay potatoes were undercooked , very disappointing will not use these again

First time I've used this takeaway and the last the food wasn't even hot even though we collected it. The lamb was so chewy just poor quality meat And The rest of the meats seemed like it had been cooked earlier and warmed through. The nan bread was cold and rock hard like it was left over and put in the order. So first and last time for me.

Normally the takeaway is ok but has been hit and miss over our years of ordering. Shame they havnt got their own website to leave feedback. The grown up kids enjoyed theirs but my ginger chicken lacked ginger and any spice! I've had more source on my eggs at breakfast. In the past sometimes it's hotter but it's the opposite today.

This without doubt has been my husband's favourite takeaway for years, however I cannot agree. My meal was extremely disappointing and apart from the naan I wasted it. My chicken tikka masala was very watery, the sauce dripped off the chicken and before I had removed the egg fried rice from the tray I saw how soggy it was, liquid came out of it making my naan bread soggy also. Would never have a takeaway from here again except for the peshwari naan which was one of the best. My husband will remain a customer though.

Ordered a number of starter items and 3 curries for a family meal. The food was fantastic really tasty and thoroughly enjoyed by all. I would highly recommend this takeaway and will be using again.

Curry was very late bland and overly priced. Had 3 from here as i like to give my local a good go before moving on. Definetely would never bother again

Ordered a takeaway for delivery, very polite and very efficient, told it would be within 45mins but less than 30mins. I tried something different, I had the lamb saag, it was beautiful. The lamb was so tender, no fat or gristle and the spinach was perfect. So pleased I chose it, one of the nicest Indian meals I’ve had. Husband had chicken tikka madras and as always was very pleased. Very highly recommend you try this restaurant and takeaway, we will definitely be continuing to use them.

I was taken out for my birthday back in October to The Empire Tandoori. Booked a table for 3 and was seated and served very efficiently. Our food was absolutely lovely from the starters through to main courses. Staff were attentive and helpful even though it was busy.

Had a curry from here last night Chicken tikka masala was yummy, nice and thick, full of flavour Chicken Karahi was tasty too, not too spicy but full of favour. Would recommend this for a great curry take away in Derby.

Never been disappointed Lovely staff, drinks reasonably priced, always top notch. Only thing is their hot dishes are not hot, unless you order a madras, and the medium dishes are mild. But they are happy to spice it up for just ask.

Este ha sido llevar en Spondon durante muchos años y la comida siempre ha sido genial. Sólo se tarda unos veinte minutos de sonar con el fin de recolectar (Vivo muy cerca). Relación calidad-precio es buena y las raciones son muy generosas. Muy sabroso!

We thoroughly enjoyed our takeaway this evening. The food was fresh, tasty and quick, and the man who served me when I collected it was lovely. My one criticism is the filthy state of the seating area and carpet - desperately needs a facelift because you automatically wonder what state the kitchen is in!

Pedimos desde aquí mucho iv de veces y la comida es generalmente bueno. Llamé para comprobar que me entregaron a mi nueva casa en en que Kirk Hallam dijo que sí. Pollo Tikka inicial resultó frío y el naan sentí que ni siquiera habían calentado! Llamé y el gerente dijo que no se podía hacer nada y no hablar conmigo directamente. No se comida de aquí.

He tenido más comida para llevar desde aquí que he cocinado en casa! Siempre están muy bien cocinados, entrega rápida, servicio amable. El pollo tandoori es sencillamente el mejor. Altamente recomendado.

Como un cliente local regular pedí comida del Imperio. Resulta que con la mitad de la comida que faltaban. Me llama y el tipo nos dice el resto será allí pronto ... 25 minutos más tarde sin ningún signo del resto. I llamar de nuevo y parece que soy un 'llamó mentirosa' (que es lo que dijo literalmente) porque me pusieron el 'mal orden'. ¿Eh? No hay reconocimiento por encargo de repetir y sólo una broma
