As an Indian, I can tell you that this is the WORST Indian restaurant I've ever visited. I definitely won't be returning, and I would NOT recommend it to anyone. If you're looking for poor service, below average food and TINY portions - this is the place for you! - The day before my booking, I received a call from Anokhi about my interest in pre-ordering a valentines day seafood platter. Being a vegetarian, I asked if there was an alternative option - to my surprise there was no consideration for this! - Upon arrival the staff were miserable and the restaurant looks very run down. - My table was served a free alcoholic beverage for valentine's day. I asked 2 different staff members if they had a non-alcoholic version available, I was told they will look into it - but they did NOT get back to me. - I ordered a fresh passion fruit drink. To my surprise, there was a HUGE chunk of ice in my glass. I did not ask for my fresh juice to be diluted. - There was no fresh air in the room. Overall, a gross environment to be sat in.

Placed an order via an app at 8pm. Two hours later, still didn't receive it. Spoke to restaurant a couple of times. Staff were very apologetic but still didn't receive food and was told nothing could be done...

We had to call the restaurant because it was so late, they told us that even though it said it was on the way, they hadn't even picked up our order, so would push it through. The food then finally came, two and a half hours after we ordered it. We also ordered 4 poppadoms and we only got 1

Amazing local that I always wanted to try and never got round to coming! Outstanding food friendly service and lovely ambience. Our new go to place!!!

Best Indian restaurant in the area.

It’s a shame, this used to be one of my favourite restaurants, but, it appears they’ve changed Chef, as many of the items are nowhere near as tasty or good. I was also a bit concerned with part of my order, which didn’t appear to be properly cooked and which I had to stick in the oven. At least the Naga was tasty, but, everything else was very disappointing, including the very simple Garlic Rice. Really sad to see, used to love this place.

Byriani with no vegetable curry and a tandoori mixed grill with no nan bread, meat was chewy so overall not good.

Food arrived cold. Tough dry chicken biryani (no sauce). chicken in the Kalia was also tough, and had a very sweet & sickly sauce. Dry peshawari nan. Sag aloo ok but small portion. Onion bhaji came without any sauce. Very disappointed

perfect size portion and good quality meat. However, the Garlic chilli chicken tasted like chicken tikka masala. The dish was cooked with chicken tikka rather than normal chicken, perhaps the reason tandoori masala was overwhelmed in this dish. I was expecting it to be bhuna style, dry and spicy, unfortunately it turned out very creamy and bland. I couldn't finish it. probably took 3 to 4 bites.

Food was bland. Chicken was overcooked and dry. Curry was watery. They put on the app it was delivered 10 minutes before it came. Small portions.

First time visit and will 100%return. We dined here on recommendations and certainly personally recommend all to try.

*Waste of money, poor quality* We went to this restaurant last night Friday 10th Jan and was really looking forward to enjoying a curry with friends. Menu has different dishes so not a Korma or Masala in sight so we relied on our waitress to advise us what to order. We waited a long time for our food to arrive. When it finally arrived the chicken was poor quality and chewy and there was no meat on the lamb chops. I complained to the waiter at the end of our meal as 2 of our chicken dishes were not eaten, he went off to check with the kitchen. When he returned he didn't address my complaint just said we were given the wrong dishes and to have a drink on the house. There was no offer to refund our bill just keep insisting we have a free drink. We didn't accept the so called free drink. I do not understand the high ratings of this restaurant. It's the worst curry I've not eaten.

Excellent service and food. Hard to find great vegan options in our area but Anokhi delivers. 10/10 recommend.

I had the pleasure of enjoying an absolutely delicious takeaway from Anokhi. The flavors were rich and vibrant, with every dish perfectly spiced and cooked to perfection. The portions were generous, and the naan bread was soft and fresh. The service was quick and friendly, having called them for some information before placing my order, making the entire experience even better. Highly recommend for anyone craving amazing Indian food!

First time coming here and I must say the food was excellent! From the moment we walked in the door, we were warmly greeted and the amazing meals made the trip to here in the cold worth it. Cannot recommend this place enough, we have a new favourite Indian restaurant to go to in our local area!

This is the best Indian restaurant I’ve ever been to.. defo have the garlic chilli paneer and shrimp it was amazing! And also the naga balls were possibly the best thing I’ve ever eaten. I will be going back!

The lamb tikka was the best I’ve ever had, the meat was so soft.

Ordered vegetable samosas but meat was sent out instead. Also the jalfrezi was far too oily and biryani just lacked a bit of punch but overall good quality and recommended.

Fantastic food. This place is superb. Worth a visit.

Best Indian in the area, they do all the classics well plus some dishes you don’t find everywhere. The service is great too.

I ordered around 7:30 pm, and when I called to check the status of my order at 9:10 pm, no one knew about it, and they hung up. Worst service ever. Mr. Rehman called at 9:30 pm, saying to come and collect the order. I ordered from their website, and I received this service. Please avoid them if possible. It is very difficult to contact them. I tried to contact you as well. I got the order at 10:20 pm and was again disappointed, as I clearly mentioned twice that I wanted no mushrooms and six large mushrooms in a single dish.

Beautiful and freshly cooked food. Not oily at all. Could have done with some background music but this was just a tiny detail!! Food was amazing! Compliments to the Chef!

Absolutely superb! Perfectly cooked and fresh. We had chicken tikka, onion bhaji, Rozala chicken and chicken tikka balti. Most notable was so much less oily than other Indian restaurants.

I ordered 2 dishes - Tikka and Chicken Balti, spent total £26, extremely disappointed, you could not taste or tell the difference between both dishes , waste of money. Felt like this was cooked by front staff and not by a chef.

Above and beyond expectation. Finding authentic Indian taste is so hard in London. I have to really complement the Chef and the attentive staff. Mohammed was very attentive and professional 👏

The food is always delicious. Tonight in particular we had a special lamb biriani which the lamb arrived still on the bone. This made the dish extra nice to look at and was delicious too!

The atmosphere was very quiet . Only two couples were having dinner. The food was good but spice In the end when he brought the receipt he put £30 extra on top of it. We asked him and he said I remove it. But why did you put it in the first place, if we didn’t check the bill properly we would have to be scammed by these people. Very disappointed

Food fantastic, service really friendly and efficient! The owner Ray is really helpful and kind! We had a family Xmas meal for 21 people! We live locally and we will be seeing Ray and Anokhi a lot! Thanks so much Katie

Gorgeous food in extremely generous portions .

Great service even though very busy at 8pm. We were a table of 4, and 3 of us thought our food was very flavourful- and the meat was really tender. One star reduction only due to my husband- he ordered tofu and said it hadn't be marinated( although frankly maybe he shouldn't have ordered tofu at a curry house?!). Will definitely go again

Dinner was great, the food was presented beautifully and the flavours were so good! The Koray was especially good! Highly recommend.

The food was, as always, very tasty and plentiful in size. The containers were full to the brim and I didn’t have to go searching for the chicken. Anokhi also made a change to one of my ordered dishes, as requested, which was ensured I was happy with my food. My delivery time was originally set for 8pm (approx 55 mins from order), but then revised to 8:15 pm sometime later. The delivery driver was also friendly and smiling- so all in, despite the slight delay, a positive experience.

We love Anokhi. Helpful and friendly staff, always happy to accommodate different needs and requests as well as offer suggestions. The curries taste really fab. Try one of the specialities for something different. Thoroughly recommend.

Disappointed with the experience from walking through the door. The table was not ready although we had a booking. The wait time to be seen was far too long to make the order. Once order was finally made after a long wait the order was wrong. They took away our cutlery and we couldn’t get attention to bring us some to eat our meal. They repeatedly said sorry however we wouldn’t go again as the basic service expected was not provided. I’d expect due to the mistakes they would offer to take away something from the bill which we also had a long wait to bring over it was only brought because I started to put my coat on to leave.

Yo, the food was alright, but the service sucked big time. I ordered a Gin with lemonade, and they watered it down like crazy. I was like, "Bruh, can you bring me a new one, and this time, give me the lemonade on the side so I can mix it myself?" But guess what? They brought it mixed again! I was like, "Seriously?" It tasted exactly the same, like they just took some of the drink away. Their menu said one thing, but they were serving something completely different. When I asked about it, they had no clue whatsoever. It's not a place I'd recommend, man. Also, their drink menu was incomplete, and they didn't even know what they had. They were like, "What do you want?" and then brought a piece of paper with the price written on it. What a joke!

Delicious food! Amazing service - best food in Winchmore Hill!!

The tofu curry is particularly good when you eat the leftovers the day after. Do wish there was more than one potato chunk in it as the potato was delicious. Had the vindaloo and looking forward to trying similar heat curries. A rating system on the menu to know what would pack just as much heat would be a helpful addition.

Sorry to say after reading all the great reviews this was not the experience we had. The minute we entered the service was appalling, the younger members of staff had not got a clue how to serve customers, one of them placed a load of menus in front of me to pass to every body instead of giving each individual a menu herself. We had to ask for drinks, no drink menu given. Then the wrong drinks arrived, again a bottle of beer no glass was put in front of me, others had to ask for glasses, one poppodom but no sauce given to myself and my husband to share, it was all very amateurish, I had actually ordered a rose. No one came over and asked if we wanted more drinks and I couldn’t be bothered to wave and shout over to the staff. The evening carried on from there, the food was okay but basically mediocre, the one senior waiter was doing his best to be friendly and manage the whole thing but his younger staff really let him down. On top of that there was a big group of really young kids with a few adults, so the noise was deafening and made it impossible to hold a conversation. The whole evening was chaotic with disinterested staff, we couldn’t wait to get out of there. A shame as our friends had recommended it and had had a nice time when they went, but it had been on a week day not a weekend, so maybe different staff.

4 adults 1 child. Ordered too many dishes to individually rate but every dish was superb. Although the restaurant was extremely busy the service was good and food was excellent. Will definitely be visiting again and would highly recommend this restaurant.

Had a wonderful meal at Anokhi on Friday. The customer service was great and many of us enjoyed the Friday special of the slow cooked lamb biryani. Was glad we booked as it was packed out. There was plenty of choice including for vegetarians Its a little gem of a place, a jewel in Winchmore hill. Highly recommend. It was my second time there and I'm sure I'll be returning.

We had a wonderful first visit to Anokhi. Our server kindly offered to talk us through the menu to help with our food choices. When the food arrived, it was well-presented and a delicious treat for the mouth. Throughout our dinner, staff were courteous and the atmosphere warm and welcoming. We will definitely be returning.
