This is a really good traditional Nepalese / Indian restaurant. If you prefer traditional to the contemporary Indian restaurants that seem to be popping up everywhere, try this. All the dishes were superb. Would especially recommend the Chicken tandoori. Excellent service and charming manager. You can see he really cares about your experience and keeps the quality high

The first thing I want to say is “wow.” I’ve been to a lot of Nepalese and Indian restaurants, but I haven’t experienced these types of authentic flavors with the right amount of spice. The ambiance at Annapurna Nepalese Restaurant is superb, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff is incredibly responsive and attentive, ensuring that every need is met promptly. I tried a couple of dishes there: the chicken was amazing, tender, and perfectly cooked, and the fluffy garlic naan bread was rich in taste. The highlight, however, was the momo, which truly represents its luxury in taste, paired with an amazing dip. Additionally, the presentation of the food was excellent, adding to the overall dining experience. Annapurna Nepalese Restaurant is a gem for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Nepalese cuisine with top-notch service.

Another wonderful meal at Annapurna last night. My wife and I have been coming to this delightful Nepalese restaurant since it opened just over 10 years ago and even though we moved out of the area almost three years ago we alway find ourselves drawn back again and again. The service is friendly and professional, the food is delicately and lovingly prepared and spiced and the decor is clean and neat. And, what with the warmer weather (hopefully) on the way, we can't wait to dine out again in the garden area to the rear. I had intended to take some photos of the dishes to add to this review, however, we got so carried away enjoying the delicious dishes, the only photo I managed to take was what was left...the empty plates. Which kind of speaks for itself! Highly recommended.

This is local to my family and consistently ends up as our restaurant of choice for relaxed family celebrations and meals with friends, both for lunch, when it is open, or supper. This time, for a birthday lunch, we chose from the a la carte menu and all our freshly- cooked choices were excellent. I urge you to try the mo-mos and the vegan specials. None of us are vegans but all the choices appear on our orders regularly! There are options for both those liking their food fiery and those preferring milder dishes. The decor is modern, simple and everything is clean. There is a really welcoming courtyard at the back for warmer weather. Not just another chain. This is run by people with a passion for bringing Nepalese food to our area. We are very fortunate.

I ordered via Deliveroo which didn't arrive. I complained to the restaurant who refused to engage on the basis that Deliveroo is a separate company despite the restaurant having as he described it a partner a relationship with them. The owner refused to contact his partner and washed his hands of the problem. He said he was too busy to telephone Delveroo. I explained I had just been discharged from hospital and needed his help. He was still too busy. Awful awful customer service. I have often visited the restaurant itself. Never again.

Saw this restaurant on the bus to Richmond. Checked the reviews and decided to book. What a find! Great table. Exemplary host, knowledgeable about the various dishes, some known however Nepalese food is more subtle than the average ‘Indian’ food. All your favourite Indian dishes are readily available. We are regular customers to both the restaurant (visited in December) and their delivery service. The former is usually excellent and the latter is normally good. Not this time i'm afraid. The food arrived barely warm, the curry was tasty but not what i ordered, and the accompaniments, which i had asked for, did not arrive. This meant that i should not have bothered ordering and paying for the poppadoms - which handily arrived in 1000 pieces so would have been barely edible anyway. In the bin. Poor.

We found this restaurant through our Taste Card, it was a Wednesday evening and it was not crowded, so we just walked in (it was already 9 pm) asking if they could take us in without calling in advance (the rule to get the Taste Card discount), and after some hesitation they let us do that. The place is not too big but has a welcoming feeling, the waitress was patient in running us through the menu (I was not familiar with the Nepalese cuisine), and we found the food really excellent: we each had an appetizer (Onion Pakora and Paneer Tikka) and a main (Daal Gosth and a vegetable dish), and really enjoyed them. With a large beer, Pulau rice and Papad the bill was £ 26 (after the Taste Card discount). Having recently moved in the neighbourhood, we were happy to discover this place, and we will likely be back.

Having heard good things about this restaurant from a friend we thought we'd try this place for a celebratory meal. The interior is a bit tired, having inherited the furnishings from the previous owners (it used to be Mango & Silk) and my chair had lost its cushioning! But the friendly waitress soon put thing right and we sat down to order a couple of Ghurka beers and half-a-dozen poppadums. The chutneys with the poppadums were OK. My starter of hot chunks of lamb in a chilli sauce with a small salad was excellent, and my wife enjoyed her prawn dish. The mains were a bit less tasty. I had what was described as a Nepalese chicken dish of medium heat, but the sauce was too thick and rather bland. It later gave me indigestion later that night, a sure sign to me that too much flour had been used. My wife's dish, another Nepalese specialty of a chicken breast stuffed with prawn (she likes prawns!) was also smothered in a thick sauce and when we compared flavours we found them strangely similar which was rather disappointing. I had expected food which felt a bit fresher and less old-fashioned in presentation. I don't want to give a bad impression of this restaurant as the service was good and the food was well cooked overall. But I think they'll have to put more effort into making the food stand out from the average Indian-style restaurant of old. The meal was average value too with a bill of over £25 a head for something that was only a little better than a takeaway.

We really wanted to like this place and support local restaurants, having recently moved a 5 min drive away.. Unfortunately, after two visits, the experience got worse, not better. The place is presented pleasantly enough. The seats are just weird - you seem to fall into them and the offer no support. Table heights are badly adjusted to seat height. The service: When attended by the manager (maybe the owner?) service is quite good, knowledgeable and attentive. Unfortunately, the second time round they put a young lady who was very new at the front of house. This is not her fault, but the experience was terrible. After the first visit, we asked for the food to be a little spicier, and the lady in question strongly recommended we do not do this. After persisting, she apparently informed the kitchen, but what materialised was the blandest Asian food I have ever tasted. Otherwise, the service was hopeless - again not completely her fault. The food itself is a mixture of "OK" and frankly terrible. It's not always as described which is not good. For example, a paneer starter which was described as marinated in green herbs and spices was nothing of the sort. It wasn't marinated in anything and was presented with a turmeric dressing and little or no seasoning or taste, resulting in a pointless dish unless you want warmed-up paneer. This was actually taken off the bill.Technique isn't one of chef's strong points. Black (Urid) daal was pressure cooked, resulting in an overcooked mess of burst lentils. This type of dish can only be slow cooked. Samosas are filled with nothing but mashed potatoes - absolutely no texture whatsoever. The mixed daal was like glue. Other dishes were not quite adequate, lacking the depth of flavour expected. The naan was weird - they are so full of sugar I though I was eating a very sweet brioche. I suspect people don't notice this while eating with the other food, but this is pretty awful.I can only assume that this place exists because the locals think this quality is acceptable, or that this food is somewhat exotic or adventurous. It isn't. It's well below par and a joke to anyone from the Indian subcontinent. What tips the balance was the Neolithically incompetent service second time round and the inability to get food preference sorted. We did give this place a second chance but it really did fail us even worse than the first time.

Last night I had a yummy King prawn curry. I asked if it could be quite spicy and settled on 6/10 for heat...just right! ....they make it as hot or mild as you wish! My husband had a hot lamb dish - it was probably 7/10 for heat. Our friend went with the suggested lamb shank. I don't like lamb, but the sauces were delicious! I live locally to this restaurant and must have dined here with my girlfriend at least a dozen times. The food isn't just 'good' it's superb. Paratha isn't an easy bread to prepare, but these guys nail it. Rice can often just be 'rice', but not here; try the lemon rice seasoned with curry leaf and a few mustard seeds - amazing. There are too many great dishes to list here, but a few themes that permeate the entire menu are delicacy, balance and attention to detail. I can only speculate that the few negative reviews that appear here for this fine establishment are from jealous local rivals whose offerings don't even come close to this level of excellence.

We have been to Annapurna a few times now, and on my first visit got to meet the owner (I called him 'The Boss'). He's a energetic chap wanting to be sure his guests are happy and enjoying the venue, without being in any way intrusive. One of our party had not been to a Curry restaurant in years (living out of the UK), and we chose Annapurna for his re-introduction. We had the Ghurkali Lamb, Chicken Jalfrezi, Butter Chicken and Lamb Dopiaza. All were great, with a made from scratch flavour (not paste). The Mushroom Pilau rice was delicate, light and delicious. We added a vegetable curry (many vegan dishes available, cant recall the name of the one we chose but it was GOOD)! The nans are fresh and not stodgy the way so many good Indian style restaurants seem to deliver. Topped the meal with a Cobra or two and all of us had a deliciously good time. We found the environment very congenial, the staff pleasant, the food average, and the service very slow.We were there on a typical midweek evening, but it was ten minutes before we were able to order a drink. There was a 35-minute break between the clearing-away of our starters, and the arrival of the main course. Used to be the best Nepalese place locally, possibly still is but it really depends on what night you go and who serves you. Ordering a takeaway here is a stressful experience, depending on who picks up the phone. If they could sort out the management structure so that customers are listened to and served promptly, that would be a positive boon. The food is generally of very good standard, and quite authentic. You are better off ordering from the house specials, or well established Nepalese dishes such as Ghurkhali or Sherpa Lamb. The staff are very polite, attentive and friendly. The restaurant is let down by a lack of coherent systems. It's all a little bit too chaotic. But somehow, it works eventually. Unfortunately, this chaotic aspect is bad enough to put me off ordering by phone again, after having had a few confusing conversations. Eating in is still a pleasant and enjoyable affair.

So after looking at the fabulous reviews on trip advisor we decided to go have a family meal there. We ordered four starters & we only ended up getting two which is unacceptable when we asked where is the rest of the starters we were told it was coming but 20 minutes went past and it still didn't make our table! We decided to let it go and waited for the main meal. We had to wait another 30 minutes for it and when it arrived the tandoori chicken we had ordered was totally raw & I couldn't even eat it, also we ordered a chicken dhansak but got a chicken jhalfrezi :/ We were tired of it and asked for the bill, only to see they have charged us for the starters that we did not have & the raw tandoori chicken. We asked again and wanted to clarify that we did not receive it and we got a reply saying ' you ate it you get charged '. We got fed up paid and left. The chef obviously doesn't know the different in the dishes that he is cooking and giving out half the food or raw food. I am absolutely appalled as the 'manager' had a look on her face everytime we said something to her as if we have insulted her. It was my first and last time going there and I will definitely not be going back and will spread the word to people as well.

In this time we managed 5 papadums. They clearly have staffing problem when asked only one chef had turned up with one waiter who disappeared to kitchen. Yet they still accepted take always and more people. We were starving. After waiting this long we decided to go. We had had two drinks each but hadn't finished last drinks and they charged us for them! No apologies..... Need to sort out management

Booked for a large group for a birthday party - the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Have eaten twice at the restaurant now and both times the food has been excellent - fantastic Nepalese curries and truly excellent momos. The fish curry is one of the best I've tasted. Cannot recommend this place highly enough!

Always great meals in here. The staff are fabulous. They welcome us like family when we come in. I came here sunday for an early dinner with my family and every time we come we are never disappointed. The food is freshly made to our taste, the food arrives on time and the service is of high quality. The onion pokaras is the best dish I've ever eaten and the popadoms are always fresh. Our server, a nepealese gentleman, explained the menu with great knowledge of the dishes and offered very appropriate suggestions.

We have ordered delivery from here twice before and been happy, however this experience was very poor. We were warned the food may take an hour to arrive because it was Saturday and Rugby was on at Twickenham. That is absolutely fine. But the driver had got lost and we had to give directions. Overall the food took one hour and twenty minutes to arrive (again, not a problem). When we plated it the food was cold. We reheated some of it and called the restaurant. They blamed the rugby but the match was on and the driver who had delivered it answered the phone so the traffic was clearly not that bad. They were apologetic but nothing else. So we ate OK reheated curry that was pretty poor. Furthermore, the Bombay potatoes were large and barely cooked (regardless of heat). I would be embarrassed to serve those to anyone. Final point, pretty small portions, although we could not eat all of it because it was under cooked or cold!Overall, unfortunately we will not order from them again. It was not cheap and so we just spent a considerable amount on a barely edible dinner and despite an apology I can't see any reason to gamble again with them.

The food and service in Annapurna was incredible. The onion pakoras were so light and fluffy and tasty, the best I've eaten. The gurkhali lamb was so tender and tasty. My other half is a vegetarian and the choice and taste of all the vegetarian food was out of this world. The potatoes were so silky, best okra ever, and the staff were ever so friendly. It wasn't expensive, and the waitress said they were a person short as the chef was off. If the food is like this on the chefs off day, we will definitely be back another day. Best food for miles around. 10/10 #Yum

Based on tripadvisor reviews dined at this restaurant but it was a mistake. How can they have such good reviews? We placed order for one and 2 snacks were given to us. We ignored it but when we got the main course with raw chicken and raw onions we realized what a awful meal we had chosen. We will definitely never go back!

Very high quality cuisine, I liked the subtle flavours, the use of herbs.Sometimes in asian restaurant there is the feeling that it's a bit all the same. Here any recepie had ita own personality. Also very nice and friendly people.Very good experience!

We have lived in Sheen for 25 years, I must say this was the best Indian/Nepalese food I have ever had. All ingredients and spices all very fresh and no taste of additives. Staff taken our order took on our requests which were exactly cooked to our wishes. Would defimetly recommend

Four of us ate here on Thursday night and we were all very impressed with the meal. The menu is very similar to many Indian restaurants. The food was delicious and full of flavour. A huge plus for us was that it was not too salty, unlike many Indian restaurants where we have dined recently. The staff were very friendly. It had a good atmosphere and was nicely decorated. Be warned that the Nepalese beer is strong and goes straight to your head! All in all an excellent choice and I am sure we will go again.

We were wanting to grab a quick bite at about 10.30pm on a Friday evening and as it was late, we just walked into the first place we saw - and were both pretty bowled over by the deliciousness of the meal we ate. We ordered a couple of starters and then Lamb Rogan Josh with Pilau Rice and a Paratha - all of which were excellent. I can truly say that it was one of the best curries I've ever had. The food was extremely flavoursome and had non of the 'standardness' of a typical run of the mill curry house. Even the rice tasted wonderful. The staff were very accommodating to us so late in the evening and there was no sense at all that they were rushing us to finish. We will most certainly be going back there. J & H

Have been coming here most weeks since it took over from a previous good restaurant with my friends for an after "Squash" curry. The service is friendly and welcoming and the restaurant is never empty. The menu features Nepalese dishes which to be honest are not much different to Indian food. The dishes are well spiced and marinaded. Not of the meat/fish with curry sauce which is favoured by so many other restauarants in the area, hence the pricing is slightly higher. You pay for what you get! Good Ghurka Beer which happens to be brewed in the UK and which have never seen in my travels to Nepal!!! Obviously, clever marketing from the beer maker. If you are in the area give this restaurant a try, at around £25 per person with a beer.

As a vanquisher of vindaloos and even a phaal eating phenomenon I have spent years searching for the spiciest curries around. I have even at one point crossed the Atlantic Ocean to beat the phaal challenge at the brick lane curry house off of man v food, and none of these compare to the mind boggling heat of the lamb ghurkhali I had here. Seriously, they could make eating that into a contest. Oh and the beer isn't bad either

I have not gone 5 stars here as i felt the portions were not quite enough but adequate for most i guess. Service was ok but the food quality and flavours excellent. Not as different to indian as most nepalese i have been to but certainly cooking is home style, very fresh ingredients and done with pride. Prices good also and very reasonable for london boroughs

Smart neighbourhoods want good local services - a great pub, good traditional butchers, a Waitrose (!) and a good curry house. Annapurna has been a welcome addition. I won't go into detail about the individual dishes because real foodie reviewers on here will do it much better than I can but this is a Nepalese restaurant that you'd be proud to take your friends to in a "We've got a great local curry house just down the road" kind of way. Enough said.

I have been here three times with family and it is always a great meal. I can really recommend Annapurna. They use rape seed oil and fresh herbs in all of their dishes, so it is so tasty. The food is light with no butter and the servings are just right, I find. You feel like you've eaten a delicious and health meal afterwards.

This place has become a regular haunt for us. The food is always of the highest quality, unlike other curry houses in the area where it can fluctuate greatly. We love their chicken and lamb dishes - sublime spices without being too overwhelming. The staff are always very friendly and helpful too, making any visit a relaxing and enjoyable one. Generally we go there as a couple but took my book club there and they loved it too. Best place by miles in Sheen!

"Nepalese curry house - interior is nothing special but the curries are fresh and service, after a dodgy start, is now quick and attentive. We went on a Saturday and were surprised to find it completely full so lucky we had booked. I'm glad it seems to be successful."

Fantastic food at really good prices. The staff are very helpful. The only drawback is the condition of the property. In a better condition i would have awarded 5.

Used to go here all the time when I lived in the UK, the food is absolutely phenomenal. Massive portion sizes too, for 20£ you'll have enough food to keep you sated for days. 10/10, I miss being able to go here

Found this quant little restaurant on Google and based on reviews decided to visit it. The starters were awesome. We ordered the Malacca prawn skewers, Chicken Satay and Katsu fries. All 3 dishes were great and cleaned out before I could take a photo. For mains we ordered the Nasi Goreng, Fire cracker, Soba Noodles and Mee Goreng (all with chicken). We were amazed with the portion sizes and the kids found it difficult to finish but the restaurant packed it for us. The staff ensured we enjoyed our food and enjoyed our experience. Highly recommended if you enjoy Pan Asian food. We will certainly visit again. Keep up the service and taste
