Angels Fish and Chips in Forest of Dean

Came up from Cornwall to visit my family, my son treated me to fish and chips and curry sauce, living by the sea, i love fish, i must say it was the best fish I've eaten, cooked to perfection and not greasy, when i return i will definately be ordering more, well done, you have done your town proud

Great find - brilliant haddock - skin off, nice batter, excellent chips. Appears only to be open two evenings a week, very covid secure. Good save after being chased away from another local business in Littledean by an 'Arkwright' after using his convenience store and leaving my car outside 😆. Here's hoping that Angel fish and chips is open next time I visit 👍

Really awful yet again. Last three visits have been poor. Tried to give benefit of the doubt but nope really bad. Chips so under cooked and the rest is just as bad. Will not use again.

We have been having delivered Fish & Chips from this Takeaway, but the last couple of times it has been very poor, especially the Fish. The fish have been very dry due to the flatness of the portion, the last thing I wanted was to give a bad review but unfortunately they have let their standards slip. Very disappointed.

Family fish and chips last night - gluten free 😀😀. Lovely fresh cooked cod. Super mushy peas. Very generous portions. Highly recommend it

This is the second time my partner and I have had a meal from Angels. The first meals which were the OAP cod and chips and OAP haddock and chips were just great with exactly the amount for medium sized bellies. Today Mon June 22nd we both had red snapper and chips and sauce Wonderful. Never had battered red snapper before but a Must try. A good firm fish with plenty of taste. The chips as usual were to die for and the friendliness and care of the staff is to be admired. A great meal and for me the best in the area. Truly unforgettable.

Since Ang and her wonderful team took over from the previous owner. The service and quality of food are excellent. The food is delicious and value for money. The delivery service is fantastic too despite the hard times were in. From a happy loyal customer :)

Second visit in recent weeks because we don't dump a place based on one bad meal but this lot was not good either. The pies are miniscule, the fish was greasy (my wife's) the chips weren't great albeit plenty of them. This used to be the best chippy (with Pukka pies) in town but sadly no longer. We do not intend to repeat.

You wait for good Quality in this chip shop so tasty iI always pop mid week the staff are freindy and the fish is great

Amazing gluten free everything. The hardest thing as a coeliac was what I would have as everything from burgers chicken and beef and fish, sausages and pea fritters and curry sauce is all gluten free. So opted for fish and chips with pineapple fritter and curry sauce for this visit. All cooked fresh and in a separate fryer. I was really impressed with the quality and price of the food. Travelled from Cirencester to try it as seen on FB they had a great menu. I wish more places had an understanding and extensive menu like this. Will be back and won’t be too long.

Five pounds for beautifully cooked chips, a cod "steak" with airy batter and juicy thick flakes of succulent fish which fell apart. All this needed was a squirt of lemon and a good beer to set off the perfect takeaway. Less than ten minutes and freshly cooked in front of us. Even better, not one greasy finger. Just divine!

Best chippy around food is delicious and good prices love the home delivery service to comes in really handy. Cant wait for next visit

What an amazing find! I would normally change up Chippys when going on business in different areas but when I stayed in the forest it was Angels everyday! 😝

Best chippy in the area I feel guilty only paying £1.80 you need to charge more see you Thursday 😀😀😀😀

Fantastic food, best chippy we have had in a long time. Service was great, staff were lovely. When back in the area will definitely be back
