Lovely atmosphere with very friendly and accommodating staff and great food to go with it 👍

I love Angels and have no complaints about the taste and quality but there is a new menu so I had the scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, half my plate had salad on it, I would have much preferred to have had more scrambled eggs and maybe 2 pieces of toast Instead of one and less salad, lots of dressing on the salad too and unfortunately my mums poached eggs were hard.

My family booked here for lunch as they were visiting me, first class friendly service, food was lovely, definitely i will go again .thank you.

What can I say other than A M A Z I N G ! Took my mum (and Step Dad, sister, wife and 2 kids) out for a belated Mother’s Day treat. We were not disappointed! We chose the Angelic Full Tea and OMG there was so much food we took some home. The scone was light and tasty, we had a full tub of clotted cream to share and some strawberry jam. The cinnamon toast was to die for, the sandwich was mahoosive and crammed full of chicken! I also had a slice of coffee and walnut cake but not until much later in the day. I’d recommend booking as they turned quite a few away. Book now you won’t regret it!

I loved this place, the decor is very traditional tea room and the Angel references on the menu are very twee but the main event, the Devon cream tea was frankly outstanding. The scones ( I had the fruit but many others were available) were freshly baked, large and delicious, the clotted cream was very generous ( you get a whole pot with your tea ) and the jam was very fruit rich, a perfect cream tea. We also had the cheese scone tea, also 10/10 for the cheese scones and huge chunk of cheddar that comes with it. Chutney and salad also nice but with scones that good all I wanted was butter. Did not have the sandwiches but we saw some come out and they looked very deep filled. Would highly recommend, worth a trip to Torquay just for that.

Really nice cafe with friendly staff. We had the Angelic cream tea. It easy very nice, but the only thing that let it down was the weird cinnamon bread.

Excellent as always. Mini tea is fantastic value. Home made scones are so good. Cinnamon toast is delicious.

Always nice. The ambience is lovely. Four of us had the Angel meal which is a selection of a sandwich, scone, jam and cream with a choice of tea or coffee. You can sit outside in the garden during the warmer months of the year. The staff were so helpful.

Angels is perfect if you are in Devon to experience an authentic tea room. Scones are great, tea is great. Staff were very friendly as well!

Great cakes and scones . It's a little small inside but the food is lovely. We had to sit outside as it was fully booked but they it heaters on. Maybe a blanket would be helpful too. Lovely staff and food

I've been to Angels tea room so many times throughout my life and keep going back for special occasions. I absolutely love their lunches and love their high teas even more. Loose leaf delicious tea, scrummy cakes and sandwiches, lush cinnamon toast. The staff are always so friendly. Service is usually pretty quick but can be a bit slower when they're busy. I'd recommend booking in advance (phone to book). I most recently went 2 weeks ago. The weather was beautiful, it was lovely to have a walk along Babbacombe Downs after lunch.

Just had the most wonderful cream tea where the service the food was just outstanding. Would definitely recommend this place if you're in the area.

Had a wonderful cream tea with my cousin on Saturday 21st September. Extraordinary generous portions. Absolutely delicious. Made the highlight of the day. Highly recommended.

Visited by recommendation for the afternoon tea. Large selection of different tea meals. The sandwich and scone meal I had was really filling.

Beautiful tearoom in a lovely location. We were able to view the sea from out table outside. Lovely scone... I chose plain. Also had a ham and cheese sandwich which was delish.

Our favourite place in South Devon for an amazing cream tea, situated on Babbacombe Downs, hidden away is Angels Tea room. BOOK a Table if you don't want to be disappointed as it gets busy and has only a dozen tables. A huge range of different teas, breakfast and sandwiches. My only gripe is that when busy it gets full with not much room to move when your seated, gorgeous views over the downs, the staff are excellent, attentive and polite.

Angels is a family favourite! Delicious cakes, sandwiches and cream teas. Large portions. Reasonably priced. Great location overlooking Oddicombe Bay. There's a car park a 1 minute walk away on Princes Street. Cute, old-fashioned, kitsch aesthetic and decor. The staff are always great.

Decided to go here after hearing so many people raving about how good the Cream Teas and Afternoon Teas were. WE WERE NOT DISAPPOINTED !! We had (1) cooked full English Breakfast, which we could not fault, and also a Cream Tea. Excellent Scones.....Light and fluffy !! Good (choice) variety offered too. Plenty of Clotted Cream and Preserve. Traditional Bone China and Lace Tablecloths. Service very good and staff pleasant. RECOMMEND TO ALL..... we will definitely be returning!!!

Delightful courtyard area at this popular café on beautiful Babbacombe Downs. A cream tea with a generous supply of delicious Devon clotted cream and strawberry jam. The scones were a little on the dry side whilst we would have preferred a dollop of clotted cream and jam rather than plastic containers. Cream first. Obviously. Happy crew.🇬🇧🇳🇿

Gorgeous little tearooms with delicious food. Quirky crockery. Amazing scones and soo much choice. It has lots of flowers around so be careful if you don't like wasps sit inside. They have a Dome to dine in too! I think this may need to be pre-booked. I had baked potato with feta, apple and walnuts. I'd definitely recommend. My husband has tuna melt and my daughter has a savoury and a sweet scone and loved them both ❤️ The drinks available were great too. I had an iced coffee made with ice-cream 😋 yummy!

Found this place on the last day of our holiday, sadly 😥 The food was absolutely delicious and the tea room very quaint!! My son's both had a cherubs breakfast and myself and husband opted for the sandwiches with cream tea and cake which was amazing 👏

Our annual trip whilst staying with family. As always delicious. Highly recommend the angelic cream teas and thanks for the boxes to take left overs to the beach. So much choice and all tastie.

Went to angels for a sandwich and a pot of tea for 2. The food was very nice. We were shocked when we had the bill. The sandwich was chicken and we were charged for the chicken breast 125 the bill came to 28 pound.

What an absolutely amazing Tearoom. Staff were amazing, portion sizes a joy to behold and the food just Triple-A, I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I travel over from Exmouth regularly in the summer by ferry and bus for a gluten free club sandwich and a pot of tea. Friendly staff, good food and lovely surroundings.

We love finding dog friendly places to eat, and Angels Tea Rooms didn’t disappoint. The cooked breakfast was absolutely delicious, super friendly staff, and we got to sit outside and enjoy some sunshine too! This place was recommended to us by Luke at the rooms, where we were staying.

Love this place. Old fashioned charm, bone china cups and saucers, great choice of different scones and jams, and sandwiches along with the friendliest of staff. What more could you ask for? Will recommend and return again and again.

I love this place but unfortunately today I changed my opinion. I had booked table for 5 persons outside. Service was no nice today I can said rude for my daughter and her friend.Also I found hair in my food and I discretely said the service. Also when I payed bills ,lady asked me how was your meals today .I said I found hair in my meal.Shame I didn't heard sorry 😞 or anything else. I'm disappointed,upset.I no will be visiting 😇 Angel again!!!! Thank you

Busy cream tea cafe on Babbacombe seafront. Asked if we’d booked ahead but managed to fit us in even though it was very busy. And for good reason - the freshly made onsite scones used for their cream teas were divine. Alongside the loose tea served in china teacups made for a classic tearoom experience. Recommended.

Such a great little place. Lovely sea views from the courtyard and cosy indoor seating. The menu is impressive for a small place and the food is great quality (scones are warmed, tea is served with extra hot water) but even more noticeable is the the service which is really superb. The staff are super flexible so you can order to suit you and nothing is too much trouble - really refreshing. We will continue to come back every time we’re in Devon!

Food and in particular the cream teas are top notch! We had pre-booked a table as we wanted to be sure - got given the worst table right by the bar (very noisy) yet the restaurant was totally empty. We would have had a much better experience with a bit more thought about where customers might be comfortable.

Found this due to reviews online and yes it is very good overall. Food, service and atmosphere. It has an old world vibe which I love. The plates and cups have a nice old British tea sets I saw as a child. The scones were fresh and delicious. I really loved them, very bad for my diet. The cream was thick and fresh. The jam just made it divine. With such a large range of scones I am glad I could stop myself trying them all. Their cakes are delicious as well. I highly recommend here. Even off peak it was busy.

On holiday in the area and was looking for a place that did gluten free scones and cakes for my fiancée and Angels was highly recommended by several people. We’d left it late in the afternoon to go but we rang and asked to book a table at 4pm and was told that was fine, there was room to fit us in and also a wide variety of gluten free options still available. My partner was very happy with the gluten free options and really enjoyed her gluten free cream tea. I had the none gluten free option and that was great, the scones were delicious and came with plenty of jam and clotted cream. Great variety of tea and coffee options to drink as well and a great value for money as well. We even brought a few scones to take back to the holiday cottage for the next day. Highly recommended and will definitely visit again when we are in the area.

Excellent experience in a nice , relaxed atmosphere. Varied menu at very reasonable prices . The staff were very pleasant , helpful and patient . The food was really well presented and extremely tasty .

We visited Angels for a cream ta while in Devon. What a treat, being a Ceoliac I always worry what gluten-free options will be available. I was thrilled to find out I could get sandwiches, cakes & gluten-free cream tea here. The food was beautifully served & was really tasty. I highly recommend Angels in Babbcombe for a gluten-free cream tea.

This place is AMAZING! We visited the day before our holiday ended and we wish we had visited sooner! All of the previous reviews are spot on! This was the best cream tea we’ve had anywhere (and we’ve had a lot) we arrived late afternoon with no booking the place was very busy a lovely lady greeted us and cleared an outside table for us! The same lady came back to take our order she was so helpful, sweet and kind and could not do enough for us! I had the half cream tea it was delicious my daughter had cucumber sandwiches and a white chocolate scone which she loved. My husband had a round of sandwiches, scone, cake and the most amazing cinnamon toast you could ever taste! He got offered to have his sandwich toasted which he took and loved it, he got a choice of cake which was huge and we all got a choice of scone they have so many flavours I was a little overwhelmed! I cannot praise this little place highly enough everything about it is amazing, the lovely helpful staff, the wide choice of cream tea to suit you, choice of cake and a huge choice of flavoured scones all home made and a wider menu! The food is also fantastic value when compared to other places. It was also dog friendly we sat outside with our little dog. The views are also amazing 🤩 we would definitely visit again xx

On a very blustery day. We found this little treasure in Babbacombe. Loved the quirky decor. Beautiful home made warmed scones, just like my grandmother used to make. Generous amounts of clotted cream. Real leaf tea which was also delicious, all served on vintage crockery. We had also ordered cake , but we were rather full. So it was boxed to bring home. Courteous staff. Loved it. If were down this way again. I certainly will be trying one of their lunches.
