We were staying at the Andaz, so this was a convenient location for breakfast. The first day we waited an excessive period to receive french toast and a cheese omelette— turns out our food was given to another table. The buffet selection was good so we came back for a second day and Karim’s excellent service more than made up for the previous day’s mistakes.

Nice room. Short menu should be good. Almost empty but service was glacial and lacking professionalism . No side plates for bread, so forced to eat from table. Food service very slow and then taken to wrong table. Wrong cutlery. Then two spoons. Bread no butter. Slow wine. Mediocre Caesar salad poorly presented. Prawn linguine was very nice. Black rice with duck breast was undercooked and hard. Attention to detail and it could be okay but for the money, it’s not somewhere I’d recommend.

Arriving Monday evening for dinner it wasn’t busy at all so had full choice of tables. It’s a lovely space, expansive, bright and atmospheric. Perused the menu with many enticing choices but eventually decided on corn fed chicken breast & steamed sole. While waiting had a cocktail and a fruit juice mocktail. Dessert was a shared magnificent chocolate sphere that melted when hot chocolate was poured over it. With coffee and cappuccino. All were delicious. The woman looking after us was friendly and helpfully attentive. A grand evening’s dining.

Not a pleasant experience throughout, the starter (prawns) and main dish (Ribeye steak) came out at the same time and when I questioned this to the waiter he stated he had just started his shift and wasn’t given a handover by the previous waiter, the restaurant was not busy so i would have expected less or no mistakes at all. By the time I had finish the starter my ribeye got cold which made it less enjoyable. I have given this restaurant an “average rating” as I don’t want the poor service to let down the quality of the food and to be fair to the chefs and kitchen staff the food was delicious and the ribeye steak was nice and tasty, full of flavour and well presented, only downside was that my side dish didn’t arrive and again this is not the fault of the kitchen staff but more the front house. I wasn’t given a steak knife so I decided to use the table knife instead and when the manager came over to see if everything was okay he could clearly see I was struggling to cut my steak and I was still not offered a steak knife. I gave them the benefit of the doubt but as the evening continued the service didn’t improve. I was given a dirty dessert menu with food stains and some berry seeds stuck to it and when I brought this to the attention of the waiter he didn’t look surprise and gave no apology, he took the menu and gave it to the customer on the next table. I couldn’t believe my eyes. Overall experience was unsatisfactory and disappointing and won’t be returning.

Lovely tasty food- fresh and seasonal Great location Lots of staff Clean toilets Unfortunately the staff were not as attentive as one would have hoped hence the request to remove the service charge. When places such as this appear to have a lot of staff milling around it’s really unfortunate that they were not attentive towards us and that reminders for drinks had to be requested. As such we moved onto another venue where we were able to continue our drinks and pay the full service charge in recognition of good service. @managers if bars and restaurants- If you’re short staff or for whatever reason are not able to show patrons who attend a level of recognition and attention which is expected in high end establishments then please do let us know when we arrive so we can make an informed choice as to whether to stay or not.

Superb three course meal, attentive, knowledgable and friendly service. Highlights of the meal were the tomato soup, like nothing we’ve tasted before, Caesar salad with crispy lettuce, light sauce and tasty anchovies with crispy bacon pieces, followed by a smoked haddock fish cake bursting with flavour and an amazing homemade vegan sausage cassoulet. Deserts were sublime, especially the chocolate fondant, words can’t describe how special it was, the cheesecake was excellent too. Big thanks to Ef and Carlton who were spot on and on the ball, very special thanks to the amazing chefs. Will most definitely revisit and strongly recommend anyone reading this tries it out.

Great service, staff were friendly and efficient and very polite. Very welcoming atmosphere, and the restaurant is in a beautiful building and very clean. Food was excellent and all the family really enjoyed their meals. We would definitely visit again.

Had a fabulous time, food was delicious, service so good. We had a 3-course meal choices from a set menu which was a Wowcher deal. I can honestly say my Mum and I enjoyed everything. We each had a different choice from each course. I had a delicious butternut squash soup, Mum had an Avocado and beetroom hummus starter , which was lovely. The steak main was also so tasty. The desserts were a toffee and pecon Mille Feuille and a berry cheesecake. Deal also included prosecco. But would really like to mention the service which was amazing, so friendly and efficient, a lovely lady served us(sorry I didn't get her name) and made us so welcome. We'll definitely return.

I work in the City (have for 38 years) and popped in for quick lunch. It was about 1.45 pm. I was on my own. I was seated promptly by the manager and given menus. I then waited and waited and waited . The restaurant was about 1/3 full and there were a couple of servers slowly moving around resetting a table here or there but I was not approached . I watched this for a while and then decided it was time to leave . It had gone beyond an acceptable time to wait and be ignored, especially in a semi empty restaurant. I went to the manager who had seated me to explain when I was leaving but he insisted I had only been waiting “two seconds“ and decided to argue with me about how long I had been waiting rather than apologise and offer immediate service. I suppose the rest of the staff take their lead from the top . Time for the whole team to go back to lesson 1.01 in customer service.

…but for £38 a person (yes you read that correctly), I thought that the selection should have been a bit wider. It’s a lovely setting though, very grand, and staff are really friendly.

I’ll be honest: we ate here because we had trouble getting a Christmas reservation at a late date. But — while the ambience left a bit to be desired (turn down the carols!) — the food was outstanding, particularly the moist and juicy duck as well as the perfect Christmas pudding. I don’t know if it was this good due to the holiday, or if it’s always this good, but I came away very impressed.

After a lovely day out in London we chose this restaurant as it was close to Liverpool Street station. The staff went out of their way to give us a wonderful diner experience and our waiter, Efe, was exceptional. We had a surprise birthday dessert courtesy of the restaurant which was a perfect end to our dining experience. At the end of the night we left to catch our train hime and realised we had left a phone behind on the table ...a quick call and we were reassured it was safe with the security team. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough, we had such a great evening with gorgeous food, lovely cocktails and made even better because of the attentive staff.

No one to greet on arrival and whilst lots of staff available the level of understanding of individual specific roles wasn’t apparent. Didn’t get drink or food order right in a number of areas - waited a long time between courses. Quality and taste of food OK but I thought very expensive for what it was.

I bought the Wowcher deal for £39, 3 courses and a glass of Prosecco for 2 people. It was originally for my husband and I but he was stuck at work so I took my 7 year old daughter. What can I say, wow. I was blown away with the service from all the staff , but Ben mainly looked after us and he was amazing. The food was fabulous, portion sizes huge, we had a ceasar salad to start each, it was the best salad I’ve had in a long time, it was the size of a main course. My 7 year old loved it I was worried she wouldn’t be able to eat the main. No need to worry she had steak and chips which she absolutely loved and I had haddock fish cakes and salad. Not that we had room for dessert but we ordered ice cream and raspberry panacotta. It was delicious. This deal is amazing, I was a little worried after looking at reviews but it seemed to me these other reviews for me were a load of nonsense. The food was brilliant , the price amazing and the service from Ben out of this world. Thank you so much to everyone who was working today who made our visit the best and we will be sure to return.

Had the pleasure to dine at Eastway Brasserie for the first time and i have to say we were pleasantly surprised by the service ,food and notably our drinks. We had the soup of the day and the main was grilled salmon which was cooked to perfection . Excellent cocktails for a brasserie, my husband said it was the best mezcal old fashioned he’d ever had. I had a mocha espresso martini which I enjoyed immensely . Compliments to the chefs and the bartender with the long hair. We will definitely be returning to eastway brasserie soon.

I visited Eastway Brasserie on Tuesday evening (26 April) and met a couple of friend there for drinks and food. The location is great and the decor and layout is fine. We met at 6:30pm and it was fairly quiet. I therefore didn't understand why it took so long for the cocktails we ordered to arrive. The same thing happened when we ordered some more drinks and the service was anything but attentive. For food we ordered a couple of starters and I ordered a main. Again, the food took some time to arrive (salads) - the portions were good and it was fine, but not exceptional. I waited an age for my main to arrive and eventually asked one of the waiters why others, who had arrived after us were getting their food. He admitted they'd forgotten/lost the order and asked whether I wanted to cancel or try again. I was hungry as it was 8:30pm by now, so opted for the latter - when it arrived it was OK but again, nothing special. At the end of the evening there wasn't even an offer to reduce the bill or make any kind of amends. With so many other establishments competing for your custom I would recommend avoiding Eastway Brasserie.

We booked via Open Table and it gave us the option to pick the brunch menu or a la carte. As my friend has a gluten and dairy free diet there wasn't much choice on the brunch menu so picked the a la carte, we added to the notes about the allergies and intolerances we had. When we turned up we were advised that on a Saturday they only have the brunch menu available, even though their booking service on THEIR website gives you both options! They said they had gluten free bread so we decided to stay as by now we thought most other places would be booked up. My friend asked for the burger but with gluten free bun and was informed that they didn't have any. In the end we both opted for the avocado on toast but instead of the smoked salmon asked if this could be swapped for some bacon. 45 minutes later, our 'breakfast' turned up, now, it was not busy in fact it was quite empty and it was only cooking some bacon - which was almost cremated, the toast was not much better, the only thing that was ok was the avocado - no cooking involved! When the bill arrived they had charged us for the full price of the meal with smoked salmon and charged us extra for the bacon - we questioned this as we did not have the smoked salmon just substituted it for the bacon, which would have been cheaper and our server apologised and said yes, he would remove it. The revised bill only had one bacon removed but still the full smoked salmon price, after 3 attempts we finally received the correct bill. Very disappointing experience and will definitely not be returning.

A very poor evening. Over priced and poorly cooked food. The Eastway has surely passed its peak a long time ago. The venue started off as being half full. The food poorly ‘over’ cooked and table service very average. When we brought to their attention how poor it was. They shrugged their shoulders and still presented us with a full price bill.

I was hosting a drinks evening last night for some clients but there was a misunderstanding with the original venue regarding the date of my booking and when I turned up, the area was being used by another party and I had to find another location within 15 minutes!I called into Eastway Brasserie and explained the situation to the very courteous and polite lady at front of house (I'm sorry I have forgotten her name) and asked if they could possibly help me! Despite being very busy they found me an area for about a dozen people off the main bar. Within about 5 minutes, they had set out a dozen red and a dozen white wine glasses (all pristine, no smears!); brought about 20 water glasses with Carafe's of water; arranged a bucket of beers, a couple of bottles of the white and red wines I had ordered and given me menus for the bar food.We were extremely well attended throughout the evening by both of the waiters (George in particular) as well as again the extremely polite and efficient lady who's name escapes me. They moved amongst our party pouring drinks and asking if we needed any more wine, beers, food etc....which was great as it allowed my colleague and I to enjoy speaking with our guests without breaking off to go to the bar.The bar food we ordered was fine for the occasion, especially the chicken skewers, prawns and hot chirizo!The way the staff responded at extremely short notice was terrific and it saved me from a pretty embarrassing situation! I will certainly be going back if I have another event in the area.My thanks to everyone involved!

Staying at the Andaz, we needed something filling and good quality.This place delivered on all fronts, serving up GREAT food and the all important hangover cure, a Bloody Mary.

We pre-booked a table here for my birthday breakfast. We had the buffet menu which consisted of six starters to share between the two of us and then one main course each. (See photo’s).This place is by no means cheap but you get what you pay for. It’s a nice quiet environment (good background music) and the quality of food is amazing

Tuve una cena temprano aquí el domingo por la noche. El menú es bastante corto, pero elegí el bacalao frito servido en una cama de espinacas. Estaba perfectamente cocinado. El restaurante era bastante tranquilo al ser temprano, pero todavía tenía un buen ambiente. Buen servicio rápido y comida bien preparada a precios razonables. Vale la pena una visita si estás en la zona.

Pedimos el plato de queso y carne que era excelente. Hay una buena opción de menú, pero estamos muy contentos de haber tenido la fuente para algo diferente. No es barato pero es bueno para una ubicación de 5 *. El servicio y el personal son excelentes. Hay un 12. 5% de servicio, que ahora es bastante común en los restaurantes de Londres. Muy recomendable.

I was in Eastway Brasserie this evening for a work meeting with colleagues. We carried out our work over tea. coffee and some Meze. At the end a colleague and I decided to stay for a glass of wine to catch up. We ordered a glass of house white and were offered options including Chardonnay, the latter of which we accepted. I picked up the bill and was shocked to see that we had been charged £13 each for a not very large glass of house wine. I did not want to embarrass my colleague by querying the bill as I had offered to pay and I thought perhaps this was the going rate for the area.

Dined here on Wednesday night with 4 friends. It's part of a hotel by Liverpool Street station so I guess it's aimed at the business traveller. It was confusing to find the entrance so we were directed from the wine lounge by a rather sarcastic waiter. We had a nice round table and initial impressions were good. And we had a nice friendly waiter. Starters were quite nice, especially the scallops, although the "veloute" (thick soup) was too filling. But it went wrong after that. As the menu is limited we all chose steaks, 2 sirloins and 3 rib eyes and we each had a sauce. But every plate came out with the wrong sauce so we had to swap jugs, and one order was completely wrong - a rib eye was provided not a sirloin. To save a further wait this was accepted but it was a rather fatty. The steaks don't even come with chips which for £26 makes it expensive. The sides were very salty especially the spinach. Unusually none of us finished our meal. We were surprised at the errors as the waiter had written our order down not tried to remember it.

The staff were lovely and attentive, the food was delicious. They managed to cater for a 4 year old without a children menu.

I can't believe it isn't more well known!Bottomless mix and match drinks option was fabulous and there were plenty of staff on hand to request top ups when required. The lady who served us (I didn't get her name but i asked for recommendations between the pancakes and the spitalditch eggs if it helps to get feedback to her!) explained the menu really well and was patient and seemed on top of things. Only confusion was it said pancakes on the menu but only waffles were available but this could just have been because pancakes had run out. Sister's hen party location sorted!

It was another Friday end of week in the City, but a sunny one and I elected to meet with my buddy nearby for one of our habitual but always energetically engaged and amusing catch ups.

Came here for breakfast. This used to be part of what used to be the Great Eastern Hotel. My memories of this place and Liverpool Street station and the surrounding areas go back thirty years when I was at university nearby.

We were staying in the Andaz Hotel on which the bistro is located and ate here as a family on one of the nights. Everyone loved their food. The risotto was great, as was the seafood linguini. Desserts were very good too. Try the chocolate cheesecake. Magic. Staff were very helpful and courteous and there’s a nice vibe to the place. Doesn’t feel like a hotel restaurant as they cleverly have it fronting onto the street and have access from the street. Pricing quite good for London too.

Average customer service, lack of suggestions by waiter and rush to clear the table

Two of us had drinks at 1901 then dinner at Eastway on a Saturday night in July. Although a bit weird that two different places shared the same footprint it was a great location.

El servicio puede ser un poco irregular, pero fueron después del rush (8. 30) así que quizás habían ido saliendo de la hierva un poco. Agradable sin alcohol. My friend and I went here for brunch and we were so happy we found this place! Staff were friendly and really helpful.
