Absolutely brilliant fish and chips! 🎣🍟 You can really tell how much effort they put into everything — the fish was super fresh, the batter perfectly crispy, and the chips were just right. Portions were good and the value for money. I felt they take pride in what they serve by how nicely its all wrapped up. Will definitely be coming back! 😊 Good to note - you need to pay by cash 💸

Beat fish & chips in Pompey. Mu family have always run fish & chip shops but I don't live near them - this is the only place in Portsmouth that fries like my dad. Great chips and perfect batter. Lovely welcome and a great spot to people watch.

We stopped here because it was close and opened late and everyone wanted Fish and Chips. The service was great. The fish and chips were fried fresh to order right in front of me. The staff (there was only one guy and I forgot his name) was just super friendly. Everyone loved their food. We were a party of five with 4 orders of fish and chips and one sausage and chips. Would definitely recommend for a good take away.

Just went to get Fish & Chips if this place searched on google maps. Chips are lousy., Batter on the fish is so lousy too. From the picture one can see it’s the left over off cuts appalling paid £13.50 for this. Very disappointed never go there again. Owner(s) of this business get your act together this is not how you run a business

Best Chips in southsea 100% - we are veggie and their veggie options are great - when are friends and fam have fish they always say how amazing it is! Lovely people behind the counter. Remember it’s CASH ONLY! Excellent value too. Oh… also best curry sauce I’ve ever had too:) Yeah… cracking overall! Love it.

Courier did not know when my flat was and it's a big building and you can't miss it

I love this restaurant 😃👍 The food is tasty, and it's frankly the first time I can recall my order being delivered hot, so there was no need to reheat it upon arrival 👌 The gentleman who brought my food was very polite and pleasant 🤗 Just all round brilliant 🌠✨️🌠✨️🌠

Food ain’t fresh at all, nothing tastes nice, there a mouse infestation there, they do there washing in the back rooms, the staff are rude

Not the best. The fish was nice being freshly cooked and good size with a nice crisp batter but the chips were not great. Not proper chip shop chips but frozen catering chips and not fully cooked being still hard in the middle. Also the most expensive fish and chips I have ever bought (and far from the best) at £13.40 (cash only) for small cod small chips and mushy peas. Overall - passable but not recommended, I wouldn’t buy from here again - there are better options in the area, especially when considering the very high prices.

Just fancied fish and chips while driving home and saw a parking space outside of this shop so decided to try it. Large cod and small portion of chips cooked to order. Crispy batter, grease free and very tasty. Very good value and pleasant service.

The fish was well seasoned, had a good cuisson and a crispy thin outside. The chips were very crispy and flavorsome. I ordered a small portion but it was a very generous one. Great fish&chips!

Food was good, tasty cod. Chips were dry though asking for extra vinegar on one. Curry sauce was standard stuff. Asked for ketchup condiments but was literally given just one sachet. Overall decent place, but there is probably better ones around. Food was delivered very hot though so that’s a plus!

Perfectly cooked, not greasy, light batter and haddock flaky as it should be. Be aware, cash only, which costs to withdraw over the road. My only gripe was not being able to put my own salt and vinegar on. This seems to be the custom these days and this place is like any other in this regard. Why can't we put our own salt and vinegar on any more? I was offered ketchup, which was appreciated. Very good.

First off, glad we did not take other peoples 1 stars detour us from this awsome establishment!! Everyones taste buds and judgments are different and everyones entitled to their own opinions. That being said our experience was amazing, from greeted upon entry too the friendly man behind the counter who offered to show us a type of fish we were not familiar with! The place was small and quiet with nice tunes and most importantly beyond clean!! The fish and chipz was beyond delicious and definitely in the affordable catagory !! With all that tied into the equation on our amazing experience, it was the sign under the menu that said "made to order" that sealed the deal for us to choose this spot. (We spotted a fish and chipz spots 5 mins up the street and had what appeared to be plenty of things sitting in hot cases to be served...) We would definitely recommend this spot to anyone who is considereing fish and chipz (or anything probably) but thats all we were craving on an affordable level. Awsome staff and cleanslyness. Thank you for our monday night treat and greatly enjoyed your company and services !! 😊

We took our children here for dinner during our stay in Portsmouth and found this place based on the Google Reviews. The food was excellent and at a good price. The owner was warm and very hospitable while my family stayed to eat at the shop. Highly recommended for good fish and chips. I also enjoyed the mushy peas, curry sauce and pickles!

Absolutely terrible service, driver disappeared told food wouldn't arrive and to get my money back from Just Eat and then extremely late food arrived stone cold !

Chips were awful. Small and hard. Fish (cod) was Ok but very oily Pie, well I suppose it was a Pukka pie so couldn't go far wrong Saveloy, so hard I could have hit someone over the head and knocked them out. Pea fritter, cold and I would say old Shame, I've had some good food in the past. Obviously a seriously bad day

went here pretty close to closing time, patiently showed where to go get cash to pay, and for 7 pounds got a meal that included a box absolutely bursting with chips that were fried up to order, definitely recommend

This family-run business offers the best fish and chips for miles around. The owners, a friendly couple and their son, serve up delicious fish with perfect batter. Even though it may be slightly more expensive than other places, it's definitely worth every penny!

Me and my friend come here every week for our weekly dose of fish and chips. It’s the best chippy place in Portsmouth hands down. Fish is always fresh and fried to order, never stored. Must try! You will not be disappointed. Cash only.

Very nice fish and chips, hot and fresh. Calamari not so good -- tough, chewy, and all you can taste is breading and salt. Obviously frozen, and I could have cooked it better at home. Fast delivery, but probably won't order again as we've had better elsewhere.

Apart from the friendly service, there is little to recommend. The fish and chips really wasn’t good. Maybe the quality is better on other days but from what we got today, I can’t recommend it I’m afraid. I hope there are better fish and chips shops around, or that this one will improve.

Way overpriced for what you get! The chips reminded me of oven chips and didn’t taste nice. Curry sauce smelt funny too so couldn’t eat it. Not worth the money and won’t be ordering from here again :(

Erm, not good. Paid £23 for £7 quids worth of food, most of which was poor. The chips were so crispy and overcooked I am going to use them for tent pegs next time I go camping. The haddock had bones in, so once the thick uninviting batter was scraped off the fish was ok, just not much of it. The battered sausage was clearly recooked from the night before. The only thing I asked them specifically for was a copy of the Justeat receipt, which wasn't delivered! Overall, pretty rubbish to be honest.

My Fish was off and smelt terrible, when I phoned they didn't even seam bothered about it, also when answering the phoned didn't give the company name so to start with I wasn't even sure I'd dial the right number, discussing customer service and bad rotten fish...

Nit the experience I hoped for heated hot dog and bun In microwave and qas very hard to eat hot fog came out of a jar. Very over priced I get inflation but £3.80 for a hard hot dog and cheese and the pie was over heated in microwave too stuff crust

Delicious food and friendly service! Best fish & chips in the area (and there's loads to choose from in Southsea!) I had regular cod & chips which was easily enough for an adult. The fish was tasty. The batter was crispy, and the chips were light and non-greasy. This is a take away only establishment but there are stools if you want to sit by the window and eat out of the carton. You can enjoy your food and watch the folks of Albert Rd going about their business. Be warned this is a cash only place but there's an ATM just across the street.

Chips and sausage were nice however calamari was stodgy and lacked any flavour which was disappointing!

Tried most fish and chips I city. This place is the best. Delivered hot, fish crispy not soggy. Chips lovely. Would recommend.
