Thanks to our wonderful bartender our drink at The Anchor was a memorable one. The choice of beers were great and the service came with a smile.

Arrived without a reservation as we were on our way to the capital and decided to have a pit stop. So welcoming and friendly and the cheese board was fantastic with a wee sherry. Cant wait to pop in again. Thank you Guys

Myself and my wife popped inn for a couple of drinks on the off chance while passing by. We enjoyed the atmosphere of this small bar - read other reviews that the bar is full of locals - We found the locals very friendly along with their well behaved dogs - The Anchor is a traditional Scottish pub and nothing fancy for sure but it is what it is and have an open mind.

Went with a couple of friends to all the pubs in the are. This pub was the last pub we called at. Definitely won’t be back. Disgusting pub, toilets are a total disgrace. I’m shocked as why this pub was allowed to open after the lockdown. Bar maid was ridiculously lazy. Looked like she would rather be at home. To crown it she got herself a chippy and sat at table and ate it. Then decided to have a lie down on the seat. If you look on toilet door there is fly paper with dead flies on it. Needs closing down.

Popped in for a few afternoon drinks, decent selection of gin, very good pint, small old man's pub but well worth a visit. Very friendly.

I enjoyed my pint in the Anchor and the chap behind the bar was a very nice guy. Unlike the other two pubs in town however, the Anchor was pretty quiet on the evening we visited, so had no appreciable atmosphere. Of course I realise that it may be busier and more lively on other evenings. Having said that, I enjoyed a bit of banter with a couple of the, admittedly, well-oiled locals and would happily use the pub again. In the interests of fair reviewing however, I must say that of the three pubs in town, on this particular evening this one was decidedly third.

had 2 pints of beer in this establishment approx 2hrs apart. On both occasions I was served prompt and of all the places I visited in SQ tonight this pub served the best pint. Staff and locals also friendly and I would certainly go back if I have cause to be in SQ in the future.

A real local pub not catering to the tourist crowd. This is a "what-you-see-is-what-you-get" place; and better for that. Great drinks at great prices & a friendly mix of staff. If you bypass this pub, you've missed part of South Queensferry.

Visited on two occasions during our stay. Cosy, little pub with a good selection of drinks. Barman was friendly and welcoming. Frequented by locals who don't really bother you so if it's a quiet drink you're after- this will suit.

We have visited this homely hostelry a few times, when in the area, quite a small but comfortable, cosy lounge, appears to be mostly frequented by locals.

Atmospheric old building. Lively crowd enjoying themselves in a typical Scottish boozer. Enjoy the ambience... and then go visit Glasgow. People make Glasgow.

Enjoyed a nice pint of Deuchars IPA and Bombay G&T in a friendly and unpretentious little pub. And Scampi Fries - What could be nicer?!
