Anatolian Restaurant in Castle Point

First time visit with my friend who is a regular at this restaurant. The lunch time menu was either 2 courses or 1 course. We both had 2 courses. I had falafel to start and chichen shish that came with lovely fresh salad and half rice half bulgar wheat, so much flavour going on very tasty. Will definitely be going back again

Ordered family meal on line at 18.30 this evening. Order accepted with 1 hr 10 minute delivery slot. After 1 hr 30 mins called restaurant for update. After multiple calls and continuous excuses that food on its way we finally gave up at 9pm as now too late to eat. Called again and requested refund. They eventually agreed to refund (not seen it yet though!) and said enjoy free order when it arrives. It never did. Have used many times in past but won’t be using again. Terrible service!!

Haven’t visited here in a long while, however did pop in this evening without a booking for a table of 8 (let down at the place we originally booked). Obviously due to being a last minute booking expectations weren’t high, however none were met. Service was shocking no organisation, servers were not given certain tables to serve, it was a bit of a free for all. Dishes were massively overpriced for the quality, had to actually walk over to one of the waitresses to explain that one of the dishes was inedible as nobody checked whilst we were eating. I really wish they had told us that we couldn’t dine this evening as they were too busy (however only 3/4 of the restaurant was full). They did take off the dish that was inedible, however it was still massively overpriced for what it was. Wouldn’t return or recommend unfortunately.

Visited as a party of 7 family and friends to celebrate a birthday. The restaurant were made aware that it was a birthday when they accepted the booking at 7pm on a Tuesday evening. The restaurants website states it is open until 10pm. The food was generally good, the service and the cocktails less so…the mojitos were lacking in mint and rum. We were advised at 9pm (without being offered a desert) that they would be closing in 15 minutes and we were refused another bottle of wine. Bit of a sad end to what should have been a fabulous evening.

My husband and I decided to go here as not tried it and walking distance and I’m so pleased we did after couple having tried other Turkish restaurants in the area but this was by far the best for quality of food, portion sizes and staff service. You are immediately given their wonderful bread along with very fresh large salad with taziki and houmous on side. We had starters of calamari and mushrooms and such generous portions. The chicken shish was so tender and so much of it that we couldn’t finish it all but they offer to package up what you can’t eat if you desire We were given complimentary lemoncello shots and can’t fault friendliness of their staff Reasonably priced and excellent food and will definitely be ba k here as found our best local Turkish restaurant

Mother’s Day ordered online and advised 30 mins collection , arrived on time , told another 15 to 20 mins , back to car , went back in 20 mins later . Sorry 2 mins more. Each time we asked what’s happening with food they would walk away and not respond. After an hour they kept saying sorry what can we do , I asked for refund so we could go elsewhere and they just ignored the request for refund and said sorry but what do you want us to do . Eventually after 1 hour 15 mins food was in bag and an offer of a bottle of coke as good will gesture. We don’t drink coke so he took it away . Food was ok although the rice had obviously been dished up early and was warm at best and had replaced the couscous ordered . Overall really shabby service and won’t ever return , mainly due to their attitude as in they had our money and wasn’t prepared to refund . The restaurant wasn’t overly busy so have no idea why it took so long to cook a couple of kebabs .

Have eaten in before and had takeaways a few times which has always been enjoyable so was very disappointed at my last visit. Yes it was Mothers Day but it was an evening booking so was emptying out when we arrived. Was seated then waited 20mins for someone to come up to us to ask if we wanted a drink and ready to order. When our mains arrived they came out about 10 mins apart from the first meal which spoiled the night. I just feel that they were concentrating more on their takeaway orders then the customers actually eating in. Will think twice about going again on a special occasion

Went here with family from Canada. Great place. The food was amazingly delicious and the staff were very tentative. I would certainly recommend this place, and will definitely go again

This is the best tasting Turkish restaurant I have ever been to. I have been here about 7 times now and it just outplays every other takeaway.

Beautiful decor in this very spacious restaurant The staff are super-friendly. The food is fantastic and at very reasonably prices.

We have used this restaurant many times for takeaway and dine in. Learnt not to order starters as the Turkish bread, hummus, tzatziki and salad is more than enough for us before the main arrives. Love the authentic feel of dining in and always friendly service.

The same good quality we have enjoyed over the years. Our go-to place if we suddenly decide to go for a meal at short notice.

Ordered a takeaway for delivery, on ordering was told delivery time was 30 mins (ordered around 17:15), after numerous calls to chase our food up and having been told it had left on two different calls, it eventually arrived around 1 hour and 40 mins later, To add insult our order was wrong. Really disappointed have dined in on many occasions will definitely not be ordering a delivery again.

Couldn’t fault this restaurant at all. Food great. Best vegetarian moussaka in the area. Staff friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back.

Just had a takeaway, we added calamari to our order, £6.90 and was really disappointed to find just 3 calamari rings in the box, seriously that's over £2.00 per piece. The kebabs were okay, nothing special though. Won't be ordering from here again.

Had a lovely meal with my family, booked last minute & they managed to accomodate us. Staff were friendly and generous, giving us salad, breads & dips to start. Main meals were lovely, would recommend the mixed shish or mixed grill, lots of well cooked...

This place never fails to deliver. Great service, Great food, Great restaurant. If you haven’t tried this place, go, you will return time and again like we do.

Ordered mixed Grill and mixed kebab. Came with rice, breads and dips. No complaints we all enjoyed it and thought the price is very reasonable.

We wanted to try this restaurant because everytime we pass this the food smells amazing.Unfortuantley it's just the smell of the food that is the good points. There was too much oil in each dish even in the salad. This made us fell ill later in the evening. Everything was soggy and bland. The only dish that looked like they didn't use oil was the falafels and they were dry and rock hard.During the meal the staff were just staring at us which made us feel uncomfortable. It was expensive for what it was.We won't be going back there as we couldn't find anything good about our experience and feel that it was a waste of money

Have had both takeaway and sit in and either way you will not be disappointed. Food is always fresh and cooked to perfection. Will definitely be returning for more and would wholeheartedly recommend.

Went here with my family for a birthday and ordered lamb kebab with rice and two days after me and my whole family experienced very bad food poisoning and it could have only come from this disgusting dirty restaurant. Do not go here. Also wasn’t cheap

I'm a vegetarian so was really pleased that I had the stuffed vine leaves as they were really nice. My family had the meal meal and it was too much for 3 of them, could have done 5 people easily. I had the. Tomato sauce from the meze included in their meal which finished the vine. Leaves off and will be asking for that again in the future. They were also very accomadating with changing the sausage dish to aubergine.We all had lovely food would eat here again

This restaurant provides very large portions and brings out huge salads, pots of bread and more for free. this was however very needed as the starters which we ordered took over an hour to come. food is great and fresh just need more staff. staff are very friendly.

A group of 4 of us visited on a Saturday night, after reserving a table. The restaurant appeared not to be expecting us though, and suggested we sit with customers waiting for take away food. Eventually a table was found a little further in, but as this restaurant is also a takeaway, the door was constantly open, and consequently we were all very cold..We waited for 2 hours for our main course, which was at best adequate. If your idea of fun is to sit in a takeaway for 2 and a half hours, in the cold, then this will suit you down to the ground. Sadly, it didnt suit us.

I went with a large group of ladies from our tai chi class, from the initial welcome, I couldn't fault the service or the food.

Third time having eaten in or from this place - dined in once and had takeaway twice. The food is wonderful! Generous portions and so flavoursome. Humus, freshly baked bread, yogurt chicken, stuffed peppers, lamb betty and loads more I haven't tried yet. Even just walking past the place makes my mouth water as you can smell the cooking. YUM!

Went for a meal with friends who have been here a few times. The food was fresh and absolutely delicious! Service and staff were friendly and they kept bringing up little extras like bread, salads and olives. The restaurant itself is very dated and could do with a makeover but it had a lovely atmosphere and was busy. Had to give it a 5* rating for the food as it was so good.

So we visited the restaurant and thought it looked nice, starters was lovely then it went down hill. I ordered a Moussaka and when it arrived it was still frozen in the middle I obviously sent this back. I then received 20 mins later a new one- only to find they had cooked a veggie version. By now I had lost the will to live and didn't even want to eat. I was offered a very half hearted apology. I was sure we would receive a good will gesture for the mistakes but nothing.

Very good meal for 2 tonight. Authentic Turkish experience - stick to authentic Turkish dishes and you won’t go far wrong. Much better than its higher priced neighbour not 1 mile away!

Been here 2-3 times now, on this occasion it was for my nephews 21 st birthday party.

First time I’ve been here and decided to order a takeaway for myself and my partner. I thought I would play it simple and order two chicken Shish, a hummus and some chips. I can’t believe how much food you get! It so good value for money and ideal if you’re super hungry, I would 100% recommend!

Treated ourselves to a special, so much delicious food for 2 people. Complimentary bread ,dip and rice pudding was a lovely touch. Can’t wait to have friends and family round so we can order again and let them also experience the fantastic food.

First visit here, waitress very pleasant. Food seem to take ages to be served noticed that Take Away food was being served before restaurant customers. Food was ok, chips were good, chicken very dry. Mousakka not great did not look appetising. No air conditioning, could be really great if improved. Would not visit again on strength of it

Went for a quick lunch with a friend to order from the two course lunch menu. (Closed sign was displayed on door! even though open.) Lunch menu was only displayed on the outside window, nothing on the table to order from. Friend took photo on phone so we could order. Ordered food and a bottle of fizzy water. Still water arrived at table top already unscrewed, didn't want to make a fuss so declined offer to replace, poured half and started to drink, glass had a chunk out of the rim so took it to counter and was brought another one, had to ask for another bottle as there was only half left in the original one. Salad, bread, olives and dip were served, not too bad. Starters arrived, squid rings for me humus for friend. Squid was overcooked and chewy and friend said humus was bland an flavourless. Chicken shish to follow for me and lamb donar for friend. Didn't try the lamb so can't comment. Chicken lacked flavour and had a peculiar texture, like sponge, didn't finish it. Friend took doggy bag of lamb but within 15 minutes of getting to her house (nearby) she had to run to the loo urgently, so I don't think she will risk giving it to her dog.

My daughter, husband and I went to this restaurant on a Sunday. First impressions from outside, it looks like a takeaway but don't let that put you off. The restaurant has plenty of seating. It is a casual restaurant. We ordered our food, we didn't opt for a starter just mains, whilst we were waiting for our mains we were delivered a large plate of salad, a bowl of olives, a basket of delicious warm bread a dip and a bowl of cooked mushrooms, onions and peppers. Our mains arrived, hot, tasty and plenty of it. We had no room for a dessert and were glad we hadn't ordered a starter. Our meal was finished of with a plate of fresh fruit and some baklava, this was also 'on the house.' We will certainly be returning, the staff were excellent as was the food.

Visited today with my partner absolutely appalling service asked waitress for help was ignored and when questioning food the chef come over and was extremely rude to me and was walking away from me when I was speaking telling me to never come back then when we left the chef followed us outside shouting across the road telling us never come back and was waving his arms around aggressively !! Refused to take money off the bill the table next to us experienced the same problem ! Rude staff will not be returning !!!!

The food was tasty, well cooked, we got the Anatolian special with a selection of meats , great service with free desserts! Would highly recommend !

I have eaten here loads of times, is my favourite Turkish great food at a good price friendly staff.

Have been here a few times and is always outstanding. Ordered the meat platter for us all 4 adults and 3 children and could only get through some of it they boxed it up so we could take it away. The salad and breads with dips and various bits and pieces is also very good.

Visited Sunday evening, there was only a few other tables occupied so quite quiet. New waitress since last visit who was lovely & spoke better English. As always the food was delicious, not been here for a while, recent reviews suggest it's gone down hill a little but not on Sunday, this is still one of my favourite local restaurants.

Eaten here a few times now and always been excellent food and lovely family run service. Don't be put off by other reviews comments of the decor and closely placed tables as I think it just adds to this places traditional Turkish charm.

Tried to eat here a few times. Decor is tired and dated and tables are squished quite closely together. Food is just ok and once was so salty it was inedible (the manager offered to replace or refund it, no problem). Wine is not amazing and I can’t believe the don’t serve couscous.

Ordered a takeaway for our friend's birthday tonight and was not disappointed . Food was amazing and plentiful , ordered the special with came with breads, selection of dips, salad, rice, cous cous and different meats and was all cooked too perfection plus they gave us rice pudding on the house. Great value for money

We have been here on several occasions, right from when they first opened, even the odd family celebration. When they first opened the food and the atmosphere was fantastic - very Turkish family feel about the place. We, as a family loved it. Unfortunately, they seem to have lost their way a little. The last few times our visits have been very disappointing in comparison, not the same atmosphere, food quality gone downhill, in particular the flatbread. Used to be the best part of our visit but of late, just doesn't seem to be as fresh as before, an air of using up yesterdays! I do appreciate the cost of things but when it infringes on the best part of a visit, sometimes you gotta chuck it out and start again.

My partner and I are here back in January and it wasn't great. It was very quiet and we felt we had to lower our voices so we didn't feel comfortable at all. The food was ok , mediocre at best. My partner loves Mediterranean food and she says this is a let down. We've had better locally without mentioning names here . Still I'd rather eat here than some of the pretentious burger / gin bars that have popped up in hadleigh and Leigh. Maybe if they improved the food a little it would be ok as the service was fine.

Had a takeaway today and I have to say the food was delicious! Lots of it, everything that you'd get in the restaurant and very reasonably priced! Will be ordering/visiting here again!

We've eaten here several times over recent months and I'm delighted to say the quality of food has been to the same high standard every trip. The staff in this family-run Turkish restaurant are exceedingly attentive and happy to go "off-menu" when special needs are required. Slowly working our way through their extensive menu but there's still some way to go. A challenge I'm looking forward to! Only down-side is they do not accept cards so it's cash only.

Dining in is a great experience, generous portions, lively tasty food, friendly helpful staff.The nice thing about their takeaways is that without asking they pack the kebab, the salad, the onion sauce, and the pitta bread separately so that when you open it at home you don't fget a soggy mess, like you do in many other places.Consistent quality for both eat in and takeaway.

Visited this restaurant on New Years Eve after being given good reviews by friends. The venue is pretty basic with no frills and has a TV with Turkish pop stars jumping about singing but hey it adds to the atmosphere!The staff are extremely friendly and simply can't do enough for you. When ordering you get a complimentary salad with bread for starters which was decorated beautifully and was very filling. The mains was equally delicious and may I say at a pretty cheap price too. The general atmosphere was very family friendly with staff dancing about with customers children and their personality was quite infectious putting everyone in a good mood. Definitely worth a visit. As I say its a no frills place but the food is perfect with a good price tag and staff service is great.

Venue is traditionally decorated and menu has a large selection to choose from. Portion sizes are large and can't fault flavours and taste. Staff are attentive and helpful. Good value for money to boot.

Been many times now. Always fantastic food. It's so well priced. We order the Mega sized mixed grill and it happily feed 4 adults and 4 children. We even have it as a takeaway. Highly recommend this hidden gem

Gave this place a try for dinner this evening, the restaurant was buzzing and in full swing as we arrived. We went early around 6ish and the smells and food around was amazing. We enjoyed our meals and the price was reasonable.The staff were friendly, my only slight criticism is that the seating arrangements felt quite cramped and the tables close together. There is probably nothing that could be done about that which is fine. Would imagine it would get awkward for buggies or wheelchairs.Will definitely return soon.

So much food, such good value for money, always guaranteed to leave full and satisfied, have been here numerous times now, will always go back, its beautiful and the staff are lovely, especially the youngest girl that works there, always smiling! Well done Anatolian!

Never been in a turkish restaurant before. Was pleasantly surprised. A lovely clean place, friendly staff who couldnt do enough for you. The starters were my favourite lots of tasty bits to try and this was on the house while we waited for for our main meal. Very nice food not a bad price would return for sure.

Last minute decision to go and very pleased we did.Staff were very friendly and helpful, we ordered mixed olives for starters with drinks.Complementary salad and nibbles then arrived which was nearly a meal in its own right !!!!We ordered our mains chicken shish kebab and sarma chicken beyti which the waiter recommended both which were perfectly cooked and presented Overall great evening will definitely be returning

Had Anatolian a while ago now and really didn't like it, the chicken wasn't 100% cooked through and that's more then just a little worrying.Bread was great, salad good, but the part of the meal that I should be enjoying the most was really bad, had a stringy type texture too.For me 3/10
