Amy's Restaurant in Crawley

Quick trip to UK. Nice enough food for a massive intl. hotel chain based in an airport terminal, but there was an exceptional waiter called RAJ who absolutely rocked it. Worked his arse off and really needs some recognition. Well done!

We were made welcome in Amy's bar (upstairs by Hilton reception) from the moment we arrived until when we left. Huge thanks to Hugo and Zain who ensured we were happy and always had drinks and food when needed. Special thanks to Hugo though who took a genuine interest in where we were going and also gave us recommendations and tips when we asked - and very helpful they were. We saw them talking to and helping everyone in the bar, they were going above and beyond, creating a welcoming and happy environment. We look forward to returning.

Very proactive staff looked after us well, and the food was excellent. With no Executive rooms or Lounge available due to refurbishment, the Hotel offered a very generous voucher for drinks and a limited range of food items free of charge. I had to pay for my chicken Caesar salad but it was well worth the money as I rate the Hilton Caesar salad, and my wife had a very enjoyable panini. The Bar is now much better run than it was in the past, and it was a very pleasurable experience. Highly recommended.

This place is a strange one. The hotel it is a part of is beautiful, has a great atmosphere, and all staff are very friendly. Unfortunately the descent into the restaurant is where it starts to unravel slightly. The menu is currently a QR code to be browsed on your phone, which is fine, but ordering was a complete disaster. My wife picked out 3 separate main courses from the menu which they were out of - understandable given the current situation the UK is faced with but why not mention this when we sat down? Same with the drinks. There is no point in directing us to a menu if nothing on it is accurate. The food when it did arrive was absolutely nothing special and suffered from the usual "airport restaurant surcharge" - expensive for no reason. The staff were trying their hardest but you can't polish a turd. This place has a long way to go before I'd ever recommend it to anyone.

What can you say, over priced mediocrity. No atmosphere, untrained staff, high prices, mediocre food, no real beer, indifferent wine list. Save your money and go to a pub.

We stayed at the Hilton at Gatwick for two nights and hung out with Zain at Amy’s Bar. He was so accommodating and lovely to us! He made our stay so welcoming and wonderful! Zain deserves a BIG promotion! $$$

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! Did not have the white wine we ordered, so brought a warm bottle of alternative wine, should have tried it first, was a screw top so didn’t bother, but didn’t think they would serve a warm bottle of wine...my wife and I ordered a pizza and burger to share. Pizza was good, if you do take the plunge and eat here, go for the pizza...the burger was rubbish which is putting it politely, someone on here suggested going to McDonald’s for a burger instead and I would whole heartedly agree, chicken over cooked, cold oven pride chips for £15 👍🏻...they didn’t ask how the meal was and my wife didn’t want me to complain as it’s the start of our holiday, but good thing our holiday can only improve from here!

Work related trip, the steak was cook incorrectly and having to wait 20 mins for the freshly cooked steak, this is also came out incorrectly. Table etiquette from staff was inappropriate! Clearing the table whilst one was still eating! Then order desert for the table whilst 1 was still eating their main dinner.. For a restaurant inside a 4star hotel, the service was terrible!! The staff need to learn some table and service skills

With staying in the hotel we decided to have dinner in the bar/restaurant, big mistake. The prices are reasonable given the location, however, the food was poor! Steak overcooked and a mouldy tomato with the rib eye. The pizza was apparently “okay”. But they did remove the service charge. Of which I probably would have not paid anyway, as contrary to their belief, this is discretionary. My advice is go to KFC.

We had dinner and an overnight stay here prior to taking an early flight the next day. We enjoyed our food - ham hock terrine, fillet steak, lamb rump with a very nice bottle of South African Pinotage. The service was OK, but not exceptional. We ordered drinks before dinner which we wanted to enjoy before eating and the waiter kept coming back and asking us if we were ready to order. We always enjoy a leisurely meal and do not like to be rushed. The restaurant was not very crowded so there was no reason to try and hurry us along.

Pleasant atmosphere despite being in an airport hotel. Good choice of food. Starters and main courses beautifully prepared And presented. Not cheap but good value.

This is the worst service I have experienced in a restaurant - and one of the most expensive. Having booked 6 months in advance, showing them the booking confirmation, there was no record of our booking. While in the bar trying to order a drink we were instructed to wait by the manageress till she had finished berating her staff in front of everyone (with no coasters presented with the cocktails). We then proceeded to the restaurant where we were not led to our table and did not have any allocated waiter - we had to grab anyone going through the kitchen doors if we were lucky, in the meantime the Staff manager swanned around ignoring his customers and staff. Then the final slap in the face. They’d run out of coffee. Any coffee. When we did complain to the bar manageress she denied any of her behaviour. Do not use this restaurant. They’re rude and arrogant. We would have been better going to the McDonalds or KFC!!!

Menu very short with not all dishes available. Staff very attentive. Overpriced for standard of food but as with everything at airports inflated prices

We arrived late at the Hilton and were served three excellent fillet steaks at Amy’s. Giuseppe, Gabor and Risto were super attentive and couldn’t have done anymore to make it a lovely night.

Lets start off in a positive way and tell you that the rump of lamb was one of the best I have ever tasted, perfectly cooked and the taste was fantastic. My wife had the cod and just by looking at it you could see how fresh it was. The scallops and crab starters were also very good. Weell done to Chef Tomajz and his brigadeThe three staff, Editha, Gabor and Guiseppi were all very pleasant and helpful but the service was very slow at times because just the three of them had to cope with a very busy restaurant.My very good rating is for the food and the staff as they did there best but they could do with some help!!!

Just had a meal at Amy’s next door to the South Terminal at Gatwick. My Wife and myself were really impressed the staff were great, very attentive and friendly. The food was really good my Wife had a goat cheese salad to start and belly of pork for main and it was really good. I had the wild mushroom to start and the lamb to follow I always like my lamb rare so asked for rare and I have to say very unusually it was rare and quite delicious. We had a bottle or Amarone and it was served at the correct temperature and was while a bit expensive it was still really good value for money top drawer!All in all a very pleasant experience and one which I will be more than happy to repeat in the near future. Well done to the staff Guiseppe, Risto, Aeron and Editha were all very attentive and helpful. The chef was really good. All in all a very pleasant evening.

Had a great meal belly pork was very good. Bread & butter pudding was to die for. Penko was attentive without overcrowding, making sure we were ok with everything. Would definitely recommend.

Had the pan fried cod - it was horrible, however staff lovely. Resorted to havng the cheseboard which was very good.

Located within the Hilton Hotel at Gatwick South - this is their top end restaurant and a nod to Amy- the queen of aviation !

Our waiter Penko made our visit to Amy's so special. My mum always stays at the Gatwick Hilton before her long flight home. He remembered my mother from her last visit and my uncle who lives in Brighton and always comes up to join. He even remembered my uncle's dog! I was going through an emotional experience and he cheered me up immensely. The salmon was perfectly cooked and the bread was delicious! We didn't try the starters as they looked a bit too overworked - the standard of cooking at Amy's doesn't need things like 'edible sand' and 'tomato souffle'. I recommend they keep the starters simple to complement the mains. Penko brought along a tray of desserts to welcome back my family and it was just so lovely! A huge thank you again to Penko Neschev, you are a treasure.

Food was very nice, although portions sizes were quite small. Staff were attentive so we enjoyed our meal overall.

Waiting for friend to pick .Ate the buffet in the evening, not worth the bill we paid for, the staff quite friendly just food is boring and not quality taste , better find a proper restaurant to eat.

We stopped at the Hilton-LGW overnight before heading to US. We made a reservation at Amy’s for 6 pm (opening time) and enjoyed very good entrees and 5-star service. The menu is a little thin but our pork and beef dishes were delicious. Preparation time was good, presentation was very good. The servers and service manager were very attentive without being intrusive. Overall, a great experience.

For a hotel restaurant that is located at an airport we couldn’t find fault with the service or the food. The staff were attentive and the food was delicious.

This restaurant which is associated with the Hilton hotel provides an adequate cuisine for a brief night stop over, but the staff were not perhaps as efficient as is necessary when needed to catch a flight, and the south terminal carpark attached to the hotel is too tightly packed in with insufficient spaces for vehicles and too expensive for a nights stay

We previously enjoyed dinner here but this was a nightmare. Terrible indifferent service and so slow. Our starters were cold [ goats cheese] and tomato still frozen but they took 30 minutes to appear. Then even longer for poorly cooked cod. And at these prices I expected gourmet . It wasn't. Bar drinks are rip off too. Next time m and s food in room .

Four of us visited Amy’s for dinner on a Monday evening in September. We were not guests of the hotel and we turned up quite late in the evening about 9 o’clock but were made to feel very welcome.

There are not many choices when one has to find a semi-decent place to eat in Gatwick, but Hilton front desk warmly recommended Amy's (though there is another restaurant on site as well) and even booked a table for me.

Stayed in the hotel and opted to eat here, the restaurant doesn't open until 6pm, could have done with it being half an hour earlier as we need to be in bed early for our morning flight.

Staying at an airport hotel you don’t expect anything special in an in house restaurant. Amy’s surpassed our expectations. Ambiance food and staff all excellent. Thank you Lorenzo Penko and Risto for you attentiveness and guaranteeing our food allergies were passed on to your chef. We will definitely eat here again when flying from Gatwick

could not be any happier with the food and service at amys restaurant second to none 5 star dining the staff were helpful and friendly and the atmosphere was perfect there was a slight wait but it was worth it as it was well presened and perfectly executed

After a very average initial experience at the Hilton....things improved drastically once eating at Amy's. I thought the menu looked ambitious and didn't believe that it would hit the mark. I was wrong. The food here is excellent and the service friendly and efficient. Many thanks to Penko, Tibor and Istvan for making a very enjoyable evening.

Airport Hotels tend to be adequate comfortable places designed fur the in transit passenger. Somewhere to stay ahead of that early morning flight or wait for loved ones returning from a fabulous holiday.

Seating area is pleasant, staff were doing a good job keeping the dining area tidy and clean but the food is not fresh, not hot, and very basic heavy carbohydrate laden blandness.

Ordered tapas style items on menu @ 5.50 each.

Friendly service, perhaps a little uninterested but pleasant enough. The food though was lovely. I had the lamb and it was delicious, my wife had pork and apart from the very salty black pudding she too thought it was delicious

I travel here often on business and the staff are very welcoming and attentive, good service and good quality food in the bar. Especially good service from Livia (or Lirvia - apologies not sure of name spelling), :)

We visited the hotel at South terminal to meet up with friends who were doing a stopover between flights. No hotel parking but if you go online and search Gatwick Airports you can find a £9 parking fee for any length of time if you arrive after 5pm and leave before 2am. Brilliant saving.

Offerings were good, and the food was stylish and well plated. Expensive, but look where you are, and worth it to us for the peaceful surroundings and elegant service than a cheaper meal in the noisy, crowded pub or the potentially tired food in the buffet-style restaurant also on the premises.

Typical Pub Grub, Very basic, and over the top on price. Couldn't really find anything on the menu that didn't cost and arm and a leg.

Not cheap, which effects the scoring. Nothing wrong with our meal but service was mixed. It is what it is, an expensive airport hotel restaurant. You’re paying for convenience, nothing else. If it was at the end of your road you wouldn’t entertain it..

One expects airport restaurants to be expensive but this one is at the upper end of greedy. It is I suppose forgiven for good service and good food but as it driven by turn around and profit and lack of ambience it is hard to be too uncritical.

Great staff shame about the overpriced underwhelming small portions of food. Meal is going to cost £70 main and wine only and not impressed with the food!

Amy’s Bar (by the restaurant) at Hilton, South Terminal, Gatwick is an oasis of calm and perfect service from Marianne took it to another level. The burger and fries were superb. Take the time to sit and people watch

Visited the hotel yesterday for my birthday to explore the surrounding area. We booked in for dinner here, and we were so pleasantly surprised! Staff from the beginning were so friendly when we had a couple of questions before being seated. The menu is just so divine with lovely food options to cater for all.

I had just one course, the chef’s recommendation of the cod with artichokes and a glass of Pinot Grigio - very pleasant. Service for me, a single diner, was efficient and friendly, but there were obvious issues in the kitchen: a table for two next time me left in a huff after waiting 40+ minutes after wtheir starter for their main, and two nearby tables of two and four, who’d ordered before me, were served after I’d finished. I felt guilty!

This is the bar / restaurant in just opposite from the main reception desk in the Hilton Hotel Gatwick South Terminal. There are two areas - the bar which is quite comfortable and sufficiently separated from the reception area, and the restaurant which is more formal and quiet. We sat in the bar area: Service is efficient - staff will take your order once you're seated or you can order at the bar. The food is typically burgers etc. all well presented and tasty.

I must confess that our plan was to get a couple of sandwiches and eat them quietly in our room before going to sleep, as the morning after we had an early flight off to Japan and didn't want to overdo. But while we were queuing to check-in we caught a glimpse of Amy's Restaurant. It was so chic, and the food looked and smelled so delicious that we thought we could give it a shot after all.

We always have dinner at Amy’s the night before a long haul flight. It’s a reliable place to eat and a great start to our holiday. Staff are always friendly and efficient. Food is varied and beautifully presented. The scallop dish I had was a work of art! Nice wine range too. My husband had steak which he enjoyed. It’s pricey but worth it . Best restaurant at Gatwick airport by far.

We had no ordinary dinner, this was pure art with every dishes. Fantastic food and exceptional service. Only can recommend it.

Consistently good each time we have stayed here. A little expensive but delicious and interesting a la carte. Good wine choice and we always book here prior to our holidays from Gatwick.

Me and my friend were having a few drinks at the bar before staying the night for an early flight in the morning. Probably our own fault - we didn’t like the cocktail we ordered (too strong). As a super kind gesture after seeing we didn’t drink the cocktails, the amazing bar manager bought us over two glasses of champagne free of charge. Amazing service and really kind staff!

I have already made a comment about this restaurant when reviewing the Hilton at Gatwick Airport. It does have exceptionally good food and the service is reasonably good. It is expensive. I did explain in my review of the hotel that this restaurant puts on a discretionary charge of twelve and a half per cent. I declined the discretionary charge and did leave a tip. Leaving a tip is for exceptional service and not a right of passage. Otherwise the restaurant was good. Dont know whether I would use the restaurant again if staying at the Gatwick Hilton Hotel.

Diverted from the Number 1 Lounge which was full at 07.00 we were directed for breakfast to the sister Amy’s Lounge.

Had a lovely meal which was a small portion and expensive. The staff are really nice but waiters are all over the place and do not work sections, which led to us having three different waiters during the evening and led to slip ups.

I reviewed the hotel separately which I gave a good to. Disappointment of our stay though was this truly horrible restaurant. We booked a table. After being seated we waited over 30 minutes for anyone to come near us. Not even any water let alone a drink. The food whilst looking ok was cool, it took ages to arrive, we ordered sides which never came. The food was at best bland. We were finally told that the restaurant was short staffed - boy what an understatement. We paid an exorbitant amount for such awful quality. I don’t mind paying high prices but I expect something for it. Avoid at all cost. A sandwich from M and S would have been a far better option.

As we were staying overnight at the Hilton prior to an early departure we decided to start our holiday early with a nice meal in the hotel restaurant.

Over Priced, inconsistent sizes of £34 steaks and an assistant manager that is rude, un-professional and aggressive. We refused the discretionary service charge due to the behaviour of the assistant manager. He then started to shout at us in front of other diners and demand to know why we hadn't paid the £33.50 service charge. Disgraceful.

Having successfully patronised Amy's on a number of occasions it was a shock to experience such poor service in a less than half full restaurant! The food was at best average and it was all overpriced.

Stayed the night before flying to St Kitts and had dinner here. Staff were brilliant so big shout out to Eray, Sandra, Erika and Editha! You made our evening. Food was really good and service was attentive and fast. We fly from Gatwick a few times a year and will definitely be eating here again.

Decided to eat at hotel for dinner, and got lucky as a walk-up to get a table. Inside the HIlton Gatwick, this restaurant is worth coming to for a great dining experience, even if you're not a traveler at Gatwick. The best meal I've ever had in a hotel restaurant. Like most hotel restaurants, seemed a little expensive, but the quality of service and food made it actually worth it. As good as any restaurant in Soho at the same price. Special mention to Eray/Lorenzo/Sandra/and Shayed.

Terry and Editha were really attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The food was amazing, so gourmet and unexpected for a Airport Hotel restaurant - who knew? I can't wait to go back!

We had dinner here the night before our flight. Nice atmosphere, good food although a bit pricey even for an airport hotel. Would advise booking a table as soon as you arrive at the hotel as it gets busy.

Not a good experience - Service and Food very average even for an Airport Hotel. - Crowded Tables - Very inexperienced staff . I would try somewhere else if staying in Gatwick again.

Can’t fault the food here but getting it is a chore. We both had excellent duck, plus triple cooked chips and one portion of perfectly cooked broccoli. Couple of drinks each....£100 for two...for one course!

Just had one of the most gastronomic delights of my life.

G and T, soda and lime £14.90. Four mains, two white wines, four teas just under £150... absolute shocker. My advice wd be give this place a massive body swerve - you’d be better off meeting up with friends in the airport and have a drink and a catch up there. Shocking.

We had paninis with tomato, mozzarella and pesto. This was quite good and we enjoyed our lunch, exept from the dirty spots at the chairs and the crumbs from the guests who had eaten here before us. Look for more reviews by MulleEllum.

I would strongly recommend booking a table, especially in the evening at the weekend, unless you are prepared to wait over an hour for a table. We had booked a table but we saw many people turned away because they hadn’t. The restaurant is in the foyer of the Hilton Hotel at Gatwick. This is a big hotel and Amy’s is the only restaurant unless you go back out to the terminal, but it is not a big restaurant so demand for tables exceeds supply.

Was told to come back in half hour for our table, when we did it hadn't been set up so stood waiting.

The smell in the restaurant was not very good when we arrived. But we decided to have a meal all the same. Our decision was unfortunately wrong.

Pickings our slim so we walked from the South Terminal to the Hilton and dined at Amy's. Although service was slow, we enjoyed the asparagus soup and split the rib eye steak. Decent wine selection, although pricey for the Chateauneuf de Pape.

This restaurant was busy. Service was slow. Waiter did not ask we wanted drinks. Had to get up and ask another waitress for water. Food was presented well and tasted fine although my lamb was tough. Coffee took 30 minutes to come so waiter took it off the bill. Again, being that this restaurant is in a Hilton Hotel at Gatwick, you would think the hotel might wish to address the poor service stands?

The restaurant seems to be short staffed. When we sat at our table it took ages for anyone to take our order, we had to flag a waiter down. We ordered a main course and a bottle of water.

We arrived late at the Hilton and needed to eat. We were informed that Amy's only served food until 11.00pm, and it was already 10.45pm.

Amy's Lobby Bar – Saturday 7th July 2018, around 8pm-ish.

We had dinner here after a long trip from Sydney to London. We only had entrees but we were surprised with the quality and presentation of the dishes. The staff were very professional and friendly. Happy to recommend if your passing through Gatwick Airport.

We had a last dinner at Gatwick before heading back to the states and had dinner at Amy's. The meal started very well with a pleasant greeting and order taken. Wine, bread, and water were brought out promptly. After that, however the restaurant started becoming more crowded (this was about 9 pm), and the service seriously deteriorated. The salad took about 20 minutes to appear and the mains 30 more minutes. The food was not inspired but was certain good (we had the trout and lamb rump). After the meal, the waiter completely disappeared. I had to go to the bar and ask the bartender to flag a waiter for us. Eventually the bill showed up, but without a pen (back to the bartender to borrow one) to sign it. The bill also included a 12.5% "discretionary" gratuity: very sneaky. I crossed that out due to the poor service. We finally left. This was far more than "leisurely, well-paced dining", it was just lousy service. I think the problem was that the wait staff was too small for the number of customers, so it was pretty clearly a management issue.

If we are ever passing through Gatwick and the time is right we call in to Amy's. Excellent choice of food and always something a little different for the taste buds. Staff are friendly and attentive, one of the reasons we return. Only one gripe this time....what have you done to the triple cooked chips? They used to be tasty and fresh. Last night I am sorry to say they were burnt tasting and soggy. We were not the only table to pick up on this. Maybe dauphinoise potatoes for a change? Other than that a great meal.again.

I've been going here for a while because of the great veg options throughout the menu. The menu items can sometimes sound ambitious, and you wonder how an airport Hilton will pull it off, but I've yet to be disappointed. Quite the opposite! Even the complimentary bread is scrumptious. I'd recommend coming here even if you're staying in another hotel.

Hotel was packed so we expected a slight delay in food arriving. It turned up really fresh & tasty & plenty of it. Good value for an airport restaurant.

I met my Stepmother at Gatwick as she lives abroad and was there for just one night on route back to Malta.

I had a fish cake to start and Gresshingham duck breast as a main course. Both were delicious and prepared with a delicate refinement and attention to detail I just wasn’t expecting. Totally recommend this restaurant. Good food. Very comfortable unpretentious setting. Friendly efficient service.

Having used this restaurant twice before and just scraped a table, this time we booked on line in advance. We needn't have bothered, it was only half full.

This is an expensive restaurant. The service was poor and the whole experience was not good enough to justify the prices they are charging. I considered an average grade for this restaurant but that would put it in the same bracket as other, perfectly competent restaurants pitching at this market level, and it didn't get there. I would consider going back but it needs to pull its socks up.

We came for dinner and, as it was quite late, didn't look for alternatives. Staff are lovely but for an airport hotel it's all a bit pretentious. We had spicy fish soup and mushroom soup for starters, which came with a selection of breads. Quite nice. For mains we had seafood linguine and chicken. Both presented nicely. With 2 glasses of wine it came to £115 including service.

We ate at Amy’s as we were staying at the Hilton and had an early morning flight. Just as good as the last time we stayed (Sept 2017) with excellent seafood perfectly cooked. Highly recommended.

Help yourself buffet style food, something for everyone, well stocked, good variety of food, with friendly efeciant staff.

My wife and I ate here for lunch. I had the Burger which was delicious and tasty served with lovely chips. My wife has the Caesar salad, this was the best Caesar salad that she has had. We both left with full belly’s and had enjoyed a lovely lunch
