Amore Alcester Italian Restaurant in Stratford-on-Avon

Lovely food but wrap up its so cold in there. It looses a star for coldness, someone warned me before i went so i did have warm clothes on thankfully

Gorgeous restaurant, underground with a beautiful romantic atmosphere. Service was quick and friendly, and all food was generous portion sizes and tasted amazing fully recommend.

Arranged for the restaurant to call me the following day to give me there VAT number as the restaurant are charging customers VAT without supplying a VAT receipt. No call from them surprisingly

Unfortunately the food was poor - bland and disappointing. The setting is nice enough, but there wasn’t much of an atmosphere especially considering it was Saturday night. The service was ok although the communication between staff wasn’t great, drinks order being taken twice and then someone asking how our food was when we had only received it less than a minute prior. We tried to just make the most of it, but by the time we got to dessert and were given what may as well have been a plate of cream in place of a tiramisu (it was clear they were going for quantity over quality) I felt I must say something, only to be greeted defensively by the member of staff with the fact my husband had eaten too much (2 mouthfuls) for it to be removed from the bill. We did explain we did not expect to pay for it and it was removed but it made me regret not making a fuss sooner as all of the food was pretty bad.

Went in tonight with my friends. We had a really nice time. Service was good and the food was tasteful. Amazing and authentic italian food. We’ll be back for sure!

I had a really lovely diner with my friends, the atmosphere was top , I was impressed by the setting service was really lovely and the food having been to Italy it was amazing. Will surely comeback.

Family meal,first time at Amore, very impressed, food was beautiful, service was excellent, lovely atmosphere, overall great experience.

The food and cocktails were delicious, my partner and I had a lovely evening here and would recommend to anyone in the area. Parking is extremely convenient and free as well.

Amazing underground dinning experience, such a cute spot. Bigger then we expected. The dishes were exactly what was on the menu all super fresh pasta with bite and banging flavour.

Was eating diner as part of a large group on a Saturday evening.The restaurant is beautiful.The service was good although I think needed extra staff that night as service was a little slow at times… some had finished their starters before all were given out. The main meal of risotto was delicious and everyone’s choice was too. Look forward to eating here again. Enjoyed the night.

I called to book a table after the many great reviews. I was told no tables till 8:30, got there at 8:20 and it wasn’t even half full. Nice lady took our order, but after 40 minutes, not even got our drinks! Then admitted she had lost our order ! Clearly flustered for the rest of the night, but to be fair, the other male person did very little to help her… she was run ragged. Food was ok but not wow. Place is lovely Was given free lemon cello as an apology, but my wife doesn’t like it and I was driving. Will I go back for a 2nd try???? Don’t think so.

Dreadful service, was susshed by a waitress, even though we weren't being loud and wasn't even offered a dessert menu after paying nearly £200 for a meal, do not go, awful service dreadful food and terrible atmosphere.

I'm slowly eating my way through their menu and I am never disappointed. Absolutely fantastic Italian restaurant set in a beautiful building. A regular treat and everyone I've taken has enjoyed it too. The tiramisu is a must have.

Food was great the atmosphere was nice and the fact it is an old celler is wonderful. But it took 40 mins for the bread course. Then 20 mins for the starters and another 30 mins for mains and 15 mins for coffe and dessert

The staff are really good. Friendly and attentive. However, my wife ordered a caesar salad starter. When it arrived the chicken was still pink. I told the waitress who said she'd get a new one, but the same dish was bought back out just with the chicken cooked. The lettuce that the raw chicken was sat in was still the same though. It took over an hour for our mains to arrive and unfortunately no body at the table was that impressed with the food. Shame.

We went to mark the year anniversary of my boyfriends mums passing. She visited us this time last year and we took her to amore as she loves Italian food. She was a tough critic as she worked in the restaurant business and on that meal out she had no criticism just praise. A week later she suddenly passed away. So when we went Saturday night, my boyfriend was alittle emotional as you can imagine. He chose the lamb shank with smooth mash. He is very particular about his mash, got it from his mum. The mash came out lumpy. I mean really lumpy. There was still skin on the potatoes too. They had merely been crushed. We mentioned it to the waitress. But was not offered fresh mash properly made. He couldn't eat it. He left hungry and really disappointed. He would have made more of a fuss about it but the circumstances of the occasion had really depressed him. I just think insisting on replacing the mash or a discount off the bill wouldn't have been too much bother. Other than that. My food was excellent. I just felt for him.

Just had an amazing meal here. Four very happy adults. Food was excellent, nothing rushed. Wine flowed well lol Staff were attentive but never hovered or intruded. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be going again and again. Thanks to all the staff.

Amore is such a nice place, it has a very different feel to your usual restaurant. The food was very good and the service was also very good. Can't fault the place. Would definitely recommend.

Unfortunately all food was very poor. Servers were pleasant but speed of service was slow. When my half eaten food was taken and I reluctantly expressed I hadn’t enjoyed it, nothing was done to offer an apology and we were still charged the full bill.

What initially looked like a nice restaurant turned out to be a disappointment. Arrived at 8.30 on a Saturday evening, which didn’t seem unreasonable. Ordered main course which was served with mash. Server came back a few minute later to say that the mash was all gone and we can have sauté potatoes or chips. We chose sauté and after a few minutes he came back again to say that there was also no sauté potatoes, only chips. (Which suggested to me the only have frozen available) muttering something about based on the time and short staffing we were left with chips or nothing. Not alternative ls were offered. When the lonely looking main course arrived, a fifths of the veal was gristle and sinew. Overall a very disappointing experience. Not somewhere I will revisit.

Highly recommend Amore in Alcester. The food is excellent, tasty, well prepared and home-cooked. Service is exemplery, efficient and friendly, always ready to go the extra mile. Lovely location too. It's going to be a regular venue for us.

Food not really good, sorry definitely my lasagne came out of the microwave. Staff were really lovely though. Sorry but won't recommend it to anyone.

We have never been to this restaurant before and booked it totally on spec looking for something different whilst en route back home. I cannot fault the food, service or price and will most certainly be travelling this way again to try more choices from the amazing menu...so polite, so tasty with warm surroundings so on the whole, a very rare find...magnifico !

Slow to take drinks order. Even slower to get drinks to table. After 20 mins no drinks. Grossly inafficient. Prebooked table and food for 20.00hrs. Time of post 20.48 and no sign of food

Lovely little restaurant with a great atmosphere and the food is delicious. Highly recommended and great value

Food was superb and the service brilliant. Really worth a visit in.
