Now replaced by the extremely good BUON GUSTO - the food is now GENUINELY Italian, as is Adriano who runs it and Giovanni who cooks up a storm

This is the second time we’ve visited and it’s just a great friendly atmosphere. The food is of the highest quality and very reasonably priced. Will definitely visit again.

Went to Shipston on Stour, which was the local town for where we were staying. Me and my family went to Fratelli. A wonderful Italian restaurant, and it was beautifully quiet (which as an autistic person was perfect). I ordered the Spaghetti Bolognaise for lunch. The quality of the food is incredible, cooked fresh and by Italians who know what they’re doing. The taste was amazing, the sauce was scrumptious and the pasta cooked just right. I highly recommend this place and I’m definitely returning there another time…

Absolutely beautiful, visited with my partner. We were served by a lovely waitress who seemed young. She was very helpful and was definitely on top of everything as it was very busy and she was alone! We are very sad to hear that the restaurant is closing and we hope another restaurant takes its place, it is always sad to see young hardworkers loosing their jobs. However it was a lovely night

Disappointing. Both of our dishes were bland and were missing some ingredients which were stated on menu. They were not made correctly and much effort had gone into them. We heard 3 other tables complaining about issues with meals and drinks. It was a shame as the reviews suggested this would be good.

We had a wonderful meal at Fratellis this evening. The restaurant is lovely and cosy, food was delicious, and the staff were lovely and attentive. We are visiting from the South Coast so hopefully we will be back one day!

Stopped in when staying overnight in the area. A local recommended it and we weren't disappointed!! It was a quiet night, but the service was excellent and the food very good. We shared a starter and dessert and had our own entrees. Lovely place, lovely staff, lovely food!!

Appalling service. We had clients (one from overseas) who had booked weeks in advance for Christmas dinner at Fratelli’s on Christmas Day at 5pm. They received confirmation of this booking on Christmas Eve. When they arrived they were told that the kitchen closed at 5pm and they could not be catered for. They called us for help and we offered to contact Fratelli’s but they said the chef had come out and was intimidating and hostile, telling them to go away. Ultimately they were so let down by the experience, and we felt so embarrassed by this poor example of service in this area, that we offered to cater for them from our own family Christmas dinner. We are disgusted by the way these clients were treated. Though we are a local tourism business we hadn’t heard of Fratelli’s previously, and will certainly avoid having anyone else book there in future. Absolutely appalling.

Absolutely appalling, turned away customers with a reservation on Christmas Day. The reservation was made as early as 5 December, and was even confirmed again a day earlier on Christmas Eve. Despite this, we arrived after a 30km drive (at about 5.10pm, having been held up by the rain) only to be told that the kitchen has been closed at 5pm sharp and that we would not be served any food. This was completely senseless as the reservation was made and confirmed for 5pm. If the kitchen was to be closed at that time, then the restaurant should have informed us earlier so that we could make alternative plans. There is clearly something very wrong with the booking system. The staff were extremely unsympathetic, the chef even came out of the kitchen and glared at us menacingly with his arms crossed. Forget the Christmas spirit, this place doesn’t even have basic respect for its customers.

The food and service was brilliant, what let our experience down was a group of other diners who had no respect for the staff or the other diners around them and made it uncomfortable for us due to their attitude to the servers. We were quite embarrassed for them really as they declared themselves to be 'regulars' who had a particular table to sit at each time they visited which they demanded with no booking on a busy Saturday evening and I really hope that is not how they act each time they visit the restaurant.

The food was nice and waiting staff attentive. Attractive Italian restaurant. Limited parking shared with other businesses there is probably more space in the evenings when workers have gone home. We would visit again.

Excellent food, proper Italian restaurant with polite attentive staff

Blown away by the beautiful food and service! Such a gem of a find. We’ve been staying local for a few nights and wish we would have found this place sooner. Would absolutely recommend if you’re staying in the area or surrounding areas. Prices are reasonable and we were seated, served and had eaten our food all within 30 mins we were so impressed!! My husband had the steak and said it’s one of the best he’s ever had ( he eats steak every where we go ) so 10/10 from us.

Had a reasonable meal there last night. No complaints but proper Italian it isn't. Everything lacked flair, seasoning and flavour. Service was good as was the wine. It could do with more than 1 toilet each but it's an old building. I'd go back if I was in the area with my expectations adjusted.

Fabulous food and very polite waiter, will be back

Had amazing dining experience that started with making the reservation. Highly recommend it if you are in town or even a few miles away in Stratford-upon-Avon, like we were. Host are warm and welcoming. We ordered Vegetarian Pizza and Garlic Pizza bread (see pics) for starters. The crust was delicious and pizza were perfectly done for our taste. We also tried Branzino (sea bass) and Tagliatelle pasta with seafood (shared among four). Branzini’s skin was perfectly crisp/crunchy and capers complemented the fish. Tagliatelle was well done. Try their vegetables from the Sides. Will visit again if we are in the region again.

Difficult to find somewhere still open after 4pm on a Sunday. Found FRATELLI following an internet search. We booked online (easy process) and arrived for our 6 pm booking. Parking on site. Restaurant was fairly quiet but the lighting, decor created a pleasant ambience. Staff were attentive and we were ordered drinks followed by our meal. Food was really good and excellent value for money. We will definitely return again.

Take it from an Italian, this is not Italian food. Carbonara is not made with cream and bacon (rather pecorino, egg yolk, and guanciale), and if an "Italian" restaurant does not know that, they should go and look it up online. The tasteless risotto, where no asparagus is to be found, and a roast duck, are definitely not Italian either. The duck was nice, but not Italian style. The atmosphere is lovely, and I'm sure the average British person would think the food is lovely too - please don't be fooled and find somewhere else if you want an Italian restaurant.

My wife and I decided to go to a local restaurant for a date and came away thoroughly satisfied! This is like a little Italian gem tucked away in Shipston - the decor has character and atmosphere, the pizza was authentic, fresh and very reasonably priced. The atmosphere was great, with a lovely buzz and it was brilliant seeing the Shipston community enjoying this place too. Highly recommended and will certainly be coming again!

A 5 star is easily achievable! We both had fillet steak and these were cooked perfectly for us. Importantly the meal was priced reasonably. The wine was delicious and again priced reasonably. What could have been easily improved were the chips, which appeared and tasted like thin pre frozen supermarket chips plus one standard mushroom! What would it cost to add 3/4/5 mushrooms to the plate? Also the plate seemed to have been salted prior to the food being placed on it!! I might be wrong but there was too much salt on either the food or the plate! I’d prefer to add my own salt if needed, clearly I didn’t add any! Staff were very friendly and service was excellent.

Excellent little Italian, fast service by lovely staff who can't do enough for you. Straightforward menu, executed well. Could do with having some specials but understandable in current climate. Always good food, a proper banker and lucky to have on our doorstep. Leave room for the desserts!

A lovely restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere. Really good food and great service!!

The food was OK but I was expecting much more. It was tasty but just ok. The on-line reviews were glowing, there is a 5 food hygiene cert proudly displayed in the window but the food was still disappointing in its ordinariness. Friendly staff.

Delicious food and good service

Service was fine, friendly and fast. The restaurant could use some renovation here and there, but the atmosphere is otherwise good. The antipasti platter was very tasty, although the mozzarella was very cold. As a main course I had the duck which was disappointing. Very tough, the fat under the skin was not properly fried, the sauce had an indefinable taste and the accompanying vegetables were completely cooked to death.

Fancied something different from English and Fratelli didn't disappoint. Our waiter was friendly and polite, The menu has a very good selection of dishes for almost all palates. Starters of olives and bread for one and whitebait the other, mains cannelloni and the largest lamb shank I have seen for a long time, both meals were piping hot and extremely tasty. Ice cream and lemon cheesecake for dessert, both refreshing. The restaurant had a nice ambience to it and the food was served in a good manner, leaving time for each course to digest. We would certainly return if we are in the area again and would recommend the restaurant for Italian food,

Delicious food and impeccable service

We had a lovely evening with friends, I was a bit disappointed in my Linguine al Gamberoni in that I couldn't taste any chilli.

Came here with friends and ate loads of lovely Italian food. They were very busy but the service was still great. A good classic selection of meat fish pasta and pizza - we enjoyed our food and the staff were all very friendly.

Found this nice restaurant by chance looking for something other than pub food. It delivered well. Food was fine and nothing to mark this down for.

Lovely italian, very busy on a Wednesday night which was a good sign. Really struggled with a choice from the menu. If we were closer then we'd definitely be back.

Second time we visited Sutton under Brailles and the second time we visited Fratelli...lovely italian restaurant with great atmosphere..food is good quality and fairly priced in my opinion..(they make a mean pornstar martini too ;)) ..next visit to the Cotswolds we will be back and wouldn't hesitate to recommend...great service! Great food! Great friendly staff! Whats not to like?!

Great place, quick, easy, reliable and simple. Food is reliable. Simple and wholly functional. A place to eat in comfort with no airs.

It’s not always easy to find a nice place to eat on a Sunday evening but this was a great find. Casual and intimate with a large menu, well presented, tasty and served with a smile.

Had the duck- size of my little finger and was raw and tough! 2 potatoes, 3 pieces of carrot ,3 pieces of courgette all for the price of £17 !! Friend had risotto just rice with no flavour ! Didn't pay for these meals and not going again!!!!

Ticks all the boxes: good menu, delicious food, prompt service and really good value. When we return to Shipston we will book again.

A very nice Mother’s Day/birthday family lunch. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and the food was tasty - nice starters, pasta and pizza options and good tiramisu to finish.

If you want an everyday Italian restaurant, Fratelli’s delivers on that. Calamari Frito and the bread with olives was a great starter. The Seafood risotto was nice and the duck as also good. Desserts, well perhaps not their strongest. Overall a nice meal, and delivers on nice Italian food.

Firstly, this is a really nice place to sit. Interesting decor and really first rate, friendly service. Unfortunately the food was a bit average. Frozen seafood, basic cherry tomatoes (not even ripe). The lasagne was better for main. A bit more investment in the food would make this outstanding.

Lovely restaurant in charming atmospheric style. All food was superb esp the banoffi pie, which was to die for. Very good prices. An absolute winner! Had a lovely time. Thank you!

The asparagus risotto was very bad. No salt, in the wrong spot. The duck was excellent. It's a more technical dish than risotto, and still much better. The baked penne was lacking salt and bland. The service was ok. Very cool environment.

The service was a bit slow, but the food was great, if you like beer I think they are seriously over priced... Nothing you can't get from aldi or other supermarkets for less than half the price..

Great for the price. Lovely venue, attentive staff, great menu. An asset to the town and great to see open again.

Everything we ate was bland. Gnocchi, soup, roasted turkey and tagliatelle. The wine in the menu do not have brands. It only states the grapes. When we told this to the waiter, he insisted that the brand of the wine is "Merlot". The decor is kitsch. Overall, it was a very poor experience.

Food and service amazing as always from start to finish!! Can't recommend this restaurant highly enough!!

Excellent dining experience - we're so pleased that Fratelli has arisen from the ashes of Amore (which was previously excellent also). Frittura Mista and Gamberoni starters were tasty. Well priced wines and mocktails matched our food. Saltimbocca alla Romana and Spaghetti Bolognese were authentic Italian and very good. Desserts of Banoffee, Panna Cotta and Brownie all perfect. Excellent service too.

We had a fantastic Staff meal at Fratelli's yesterday evening. There were two parties on the same evening meaning it was busy, but the service was very good, and the food was excellent. We all had a great time, and everyone commented on how delicious the food was. I personally have eaten here a few times in the past, and the food/service never fails to impress. Great atmosphere, and friendly staff.

Starters were OK but mains were disappointing - Sea Bass lacked flavour and served with cold salad and warm vegetables! Salmon bland and vegetables only warm! Shared a Tiramisu which was nice. The restaurant formerly called Amore is now renamed Fratelli Cucina Italiana has just reopened again after a few months and still gives same great Italian food and friendly service. Only just reopened so currently only an Al la carte menu available but will be including...

Had an excellent meal here whilst staying in Shipston for the weekend. It's a lovely traditional restaurant. Great menu choices and everything we ate, was cooked beautifully. Staff were friendly and service was good. Highly recommended.

Very good food, friendly service

Overall, it was a great experience. The venue itself is attractive and sets a relaxed and intimate setting. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The food here is definitely the big selling point. Nice selection on the menu and everything we ordered looked and tasted great. Two points that require a little work. Firstly, we found the music a little loud, which made it difficult to have a conversation. That being said, we were sat under one of the speakers. Secondly, the service was a little slow. It was a Tuesday evening and there were several staff on hand. Other than a table of seven, a table of four (us) and a table of two, it was relatively quiet. They had taken our drink options quickly and also served them shortly after. The starters arrived at a reasonable time but the cleanup was slow. The waiter who was serving us had walked through a few times after we'd finished but hadn't cleared up. We had the same situation with our mains and dessert. After 15-20mins had passed, after finishing our desserts, we ended up having to go to the bar and pay our bill as we weren't approached. We appeared to be the only table left so I'm unsure why we were overlooked. All in all, it was a nice evening and I'm sure that this is a one off and it won't deter me from going again.

Great food on a busy Friday night!

Food was good ,atmosphere good with perfect hosts and staff. I was actually taken ill before arrival and staff could not have done more to make me comfortable. They went over and above and I would happily stay there again.

Brilliant pizza and good service , I had the calzone and it was delicious, my little boy had the margarita off the child's menu and he loved it. Looking forward to our next visit in a couple of weeks 😀

Really tasty food, even the soup was delicious. Excellent chef's and highly recommended. The week day lunch special menu has some superb choices or a bigger party at weekends. One of the best places to dine in, in and around Shipston on Stour and a similar price to many of the pubs for a proper Italian restaurant.

We absolutely did not like the food here at all We were warned by locals that it was not very good. When there aren't many competitors in the area, I guess they can afford not to be that great. Wouldn't go again.

This place has so much potential but is let down by the quality of the cooking. Everything is presented very well, service is excellent but the risotto, tagliatelle + starters lacked depth in flavour and sadly lacked the satisfaction we usually get from good Italian food

Absolutely love this place. Staff were so friendly, the food was delicious and it was lovely to visit for the 1st time on Valentine's Day. I would definitely recommend coming here for authentic Italian food.
