Never fails, food is outstanding and very reasonable.

It was very quiet for a Friday night but the entertainment was exceptional, can recommend the churros

Very welcoming, the young lady serving was extremely friendly and helpful. Dance floor and disco and a great relaxed atmosphere. Only popped in for drinks but menu looks great so we will revisit for food very soon

The place was great barely any people at night, but I see why. Food was amazing, it took minutes just to get the food done. They also have so lovely Churros! The service was great, they didn't come up every 5 minutes (like most restaurants do) but did check if the food was good.

Stopped for an evening meal. Service was great as was the food. For some reason the place was quiet. Only negative was people smoking in the doorway leading to a smokey atmosphere in the room.

Awful food, visited in the height of the pandemic and the female manager(?) just had a sparkly mesh mask on, almost like a veil so no protection and got too close

Awful food, we had a meal here and our starter of nachos was just a cheesy oily mush could tell there were any nachos!! our main was not great either, a bit of sirloin steak that was just a thin beefsteak!! Not £17.00 worth at all and my pasta was again so oily it has got to be the worst food we have ever had definitely not worth the money! The only nice thing I could say about this place was the waitress was lovely and took our comments back to the kitchen but we never saw a manager no apology from him!!

Great authentic Mexican food served by a lovely family.

It was a very sad experience. The meals came extremely late and not at the same time. The staff was confused with the orders in the dining area. In each course there was missing food. It Would Be nice to hear from them a sorry.

A little gem found on the off chance. Well worth a visit but make sure you have an empty stomach as the portions are large.

What a fantastic place! I am a Nachos connoisseur and the nachos here are seriously Next Level!!! £8.95 for a VERY substantial portion which could feed three people! I honestly believe among the best nachos I've ever had. The restaurant / bar is very welcoming, the staff are both beautiful and very helpful. I cannot recommend this place enough.

All good great food friendly staff

Seems a bit confused, is it a bar a nightclub or a restaurant ? We were a large party for food and when we arrived at 7pm the music was so loud we could hardly hear other, terrible music too. Staff are lovely and the food was really good! It seems to be a place for the locals to hang out and get drunk, which was rather amusing at times

What a gem of a place . We were put off by the exterior decor but it turned out to be a fab place! Can't rate highly enough , staff most hospitable. Beautiful food and plenty of it . A good choice for vegetarians too ..I had the Quesadilla which was lovely .

Went here with a few girl friends to celebrate my Hen night. It was a Sunday night and not at all busy. Food was lovely and cocktails too. Nick who served us was an absolute delight. He was friendly, chatty and made us feel welcome and cracked some jokes with a bunch of roudy women. It is small but great for what we needed.

We ate here while on holiday food was average it seems this is part restaurant and part pub the service was good and staff were friendly portion sizes were quite big. But overall experience was a bit of a let down

Great Mexican food with a variety of choices on the menu and great portion sizes. The staff were very pleasant and friendly. The reason I’ve given this is a four star review is because of the atmosphere I’m not quite sure if it’s a pub, a Mexican or a bar. Apart from that I can’t fault it, the prices were great too.

You said you were open on Google but you weren’t. I wanted Mexican so bad and you took that opportunity away from me. I promised my mate Freddie and Kelly I would buy them lunch and then when we showed up... closed. Devastated.

Not that great, but cheap and cheerful. Suspect the chef has never actually been to Mexico, still could be worse.

I celebrated my birthday earlier this evening in this great place. I am glad to say that it was a phenomenal evening and the restaurant was clearly the reason for this strong meeting. The stuff collaborated in a pleasant way, the cuisine was tasty and my friends were so overjoyed. We shall no dout return for more celebrations. Thank you very much.

We were visiting Lydney (Early December 2020) when we came across Amigos. The restaurant was spacious and had clearly been rearranged to adhere to Covid-19 restrictions. There was a lovely friendly atmosphere and you could tell that a number of the patrons were regulars (a sign of a good place). The selection of food and drink was good - I was particularly pleased to see Aspall cider on draft. Food portions were very generous; our only regret was wishing we had had space for a pudding!

Three of us ate here on a quiet Tuesday night, there were a few others in too. The guy who took our orders also brought our drinks and also was the chef. He made all the food from scratch and put his absolute heart and soul into making a delicious meal that was tasty, and massive ! Enchiladas, sweet potato fries, fajitas. It took quite a while to arrive, so bear in mind if you're in a rush, but if you're happy to chill with a beer, well worth the wait.xx

Excellent great place to be superb hospitality

We enjoyed a lovely evening on a quite Tuesday evening. The service very good. We left feeling very full and satisfied.

Visited here in the eat out to help out deal. Our food was fantastic and much better than I expected. Staff are very friendly I had a steak and it was cooked as I asked. Would definitely visit again. Keep up the good work amigos

Lovely attentive staff, amazing food (I asked for a sea bass enchilada and they were happy to make it for me), good value for money. Beautifully decorated and we felt safe during the Covid crisis.

Disappointed with this bar and restaurant. Food was dull, I'm sure there is more to Mexican food than what was on the menu. The young lady serving drinks and taking food orders, was pleasant though.

Very attentive staff, they let us sit outside and were very accommodating to our needs. The food was very tasty and generous portions! Our waiter was very kind and funny and went above and beyond to give us great service, unfortunately we didn't get his name. Would reccomend!

We visited Amigos as a family on our ‘staycation’ They warned us when we booked that the service and speed would not be as fast as usual due to reduced staff numbers... well I would love to see their normal service if what we experienced wasn’t it, because it was fabulous. The staff were super nice and friendly, very attentive. The food was absolutely amazing; I wish I lived nearer as we would definitely be regular customers! We went on a ‘Eat out to help out’ day, so the price was great - however I would happily pay full price as it really was the best Mexican we have ever been to - the children really enjoyed it too and they can be real fussy eaters! Definitely worth a visit :-)

Amigos provided an excellent takeaway buffet meal for a birthday party. Chicken and beef Burritos, chicken, beef and vegetable Enchiladas, cheese topped Nachos, Spicy beef with rice, creamy chicken with rice, spicy chicken wings, potato cubes with chilli topping, potato wedges with sour cream, chips, salsa, guacamole, mixed salad, and coleslaw. So much high quality and very tasty food for an incredibly reasonable price.

Some of the best Mexican food we've had in a long time. Great menu and friendly quick service. Bit confused about whether it was a restaurant or pub or bar but didn't really matter what it was as it was a great meal out.

Huge portions, that's for sure. Way too greasy and cheesy though. Fun decor. But the toilets were absolutely rank.

We had a nice meal here but the place isn't quite sure if it is a pub, restaurant or a night club! Quite loud music even upstairs. There are not many options for a Sunday evening in Lydney but Amigos is worth a punt. Nice food and friendly staff.

Just called in for a bite to eat,... and WOW!!... Absolute perfection from start to finish. Service was friendly, efficient and knowledgable. Food was outstanding. We had chicken royal and sirloin steak, both cooked to perfection. The portions are plentiful with everything included on your plate. Service was superb and very reasonably priced. We will definately be returning AND recommending to family & friends..

Its the only bar in lydney that plays music and has a dance floor which is great, however drinks are overpriced and the toilets are disgusting.

Stayed in Oatfield Cottages just 3 miles from here. The downstairs was modern and like a normal bar with the restaurant upstairs. Large and spacious with friendly attentive staff. All the food was delicious and the drinks were normal prices . They even had cocktails by the jug to share and mocktails for the driver. Plenty of parking in the car park behind for 20p ! Highly recommend

Have been here a number of times now and thought it was time to leave a review. The food is delicious and plentiful. They have a varied menu so even if you don't fancy Mexican there is something to suit your taste. The atmosphere is good and the drink selection is varied. Good cocktails. The prices are reasonable and the portions are generous. Will definitely be back soon.

Seems there isn't much choice in Lydney so the promise of Mexican seemed good!Bit of an odd set up, not sure if it's a resturant with a bar or vice versa...either way the man who took my order etc was very nice and polite.I had chicken pasta which was on, nothing to write home about, chicken and veg a little over cooked for my liking but it was ok non the less.

Bit pricey get a lot of heavy drinkers type you don't want. Plus point DAVE reilly music superb.

This was a last minute booking by my sister in law. Despite the large party the kitchen coped very well, the service was excellent as was the food. Everyone enjoyed themselves and it's excellent value for money with generous portions.

Our second visit here and we were again impressed with the delicious food! The staff are very welcoming and helpful. A good Mexican menu and they cater well for children who don’t like spicy food. Lovely cocktails too!

It's a nice place clean and well decorated with a good atmosphere, is busy on the weekends and open later and has a large courtyard out the back, I believe there is an upstairs seating area for food but never been up there

“Next time you come into my club/restaurant, wear something more suitable, you wouldn’t want men getting the wrong impression, if you get what I mean” Words from the lovely owner, said to me, A young girl. Who was wearing a dress, just above the knees, with a large baggy shirt over the top, covering my shoulders. This isn’t the first time inappropriate comments have been made. We visited the restaurant for a friends birthday. She and her partner kissed in the restaurant and we were told by security that the owners do not like kissing in public due to their Islamic religion. Now I’m all one for respecting other people’s cultures/religions, and when I visit these countries I ensure I abide by their values/beliefs. However, last time I checked. It isn’t an insult to kiss somebody in a public place in the UK. And yet they are more than happy to serve alcohol, which I’m sure is pretty frowned upon in Islam. Please don’t waste your time and support an establishment which thinks it’s acceptable to behave this way.

Excellent menu, we went there for our anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

When booking a table for my husbands 65th birthday meal, I just mentioned the special milestone we were celebrating , and the restaurant was brilliant ,they decorated the table with balloons and celebratory decorations which was a lovely gesture and pleased the birthday boy !We had the upstairs all to ourselves , we were relaxed and able to enjoy the fantastic food ; we had a wide variety of dishes ordered but everyone was delighted with their food . The final touch was the birthday dessert served up with lighted candle for 'birthday boy ' . It could not have gone better & l was delighted by the thoughtfulness of the waiting staff . This restaurant seems to get a number of 'moaning clients' but we were very impressed and am very happy to let others know that this is a place definitely worth a visit !

Not a lot of atmosphere. Large portions of food nicely presented. Jugs of cocktails average. Prices reasonable. Would return as not many places to eat in the town.

Place had no atmosphere, my starter was supped to be spicy Mexican wings, consisted pf four small dry and totally tasteless wing and a mound of equally tasteless vegetation, served with a small put of (sweet, yes sweet!) chilli sauce - out of a bottle.

This place still has the vibe and aura of when it used to be the Annexe.

Very good restaurant, a little pricy but the portions are big. Plenty of seating on two floors. Clean and well organised, seems to be family run. Would recommend.
