Excellent green staff collecting our names on the course, and then checking us in so we could pick up the key outside the bar , brilliant idea 💡 . Also the staff and the place can't do enough for you ! The room ( the beeches) had a small single bed, which I was scared of turning over quickly, but great parking 👍 I have been twice this year , the bed in main hotel are bigger 😀

Fabulous setting, comfortable room and good breakfast on offer.

I had what I believe to be the best Sunday carvery in Britain😀 thick tender slices of roast beef, roast potatoes to die for and gravy you would happily drink out of a pint glass, washed down with the best pint of san Miguel outside manilla🥰

Special thanks to all the staff for making a sad occasion (funeral wake) a special memory for my family, providing a great night of drinks and music. The staff were extra attentive under some difficult circumstances and very accommodating to our needs. Highly recommend and the breakfast was the perfect end to our stay

Beautiful food worth every penny reasonable prices.

That was my worst pub experience(for my colleagues as well) in the UK. When we arrived we opened a tap, we ordered some starters, food, drinks etc. Suddenly before we finish, the pub staff decided that they don't do tap. Then we saw they were discussing us behind the bar, tried to hide it and pointing fingers at us. They thought we are going to run away without paying our bill 😂 Overall - food was not great, they messed our order and blamed us, incompetent and not trained personnel, highly disrespectful behaviour and manners, not clearing the empty plates, grumpy and not welcoming at all. If you want to be disrespected and humiliated, because somebody's personal believes - then this you pub. That pub does not welcome any different nationalities or religions. Very happy that we only ate there and didn't stay overnight!!! Wouldn't recommend to anybody.

Outside bins overflowing in carpark,even when wedding party arrived. Taps in gents loose and wobbly. Floor Tiles in gents cracked and dirty.Barman on till,looked up at me saying, Is there something l can do for you. No!,I like standing at the bar.?Then he says Bear with me just doing this?.Spar attendants,not at desk both behind screen. Bend his head under glass saying you all right.Young girl pushed herself out of the partion in her chair with wheels to greet me and sat there before she got up.

The worst hotel. Noisy, boiling hot rooms with no air con, can reduce the temperature by 1 degree with a noisy fan or open the window and increase the volume of the already noisy generator.

Simple, clean hotel rooms with everything I needed for a one-night stay. The staff were amazingly helpful and friendly.

I didn't stay in the hotel, I went there for breakfast and for evening meals for 3 days. The service was excellent the staff friendly and efficient, and the food was great 👍,we didn't stay here because they were fully booked, would definitely try to stay there in the future.

Nice pub. Food here is great. Portions are huge! Recommend the chicken curry. Or the sweet and sour chicken.

We stayed here with friends to see the Severn bore. Lovely people at the pub, , a great breakfast, and a spotlessly clean bedroom and ensuite.

Fantastic time spent there. We were at a wedding and stayed the weekend. Food was lovely and staff so friendly and even go beyond.

Nice enough, service was good and staff friendly. Could of done with a little background music in the dining area in my opinion but over all a nice pub

I stayed the night with my brother and his wife. It was our chance to get together for our birthday and Christmas celebration as I will be away this year. The atmosphere was very friendly and very comfortable. The staff went out of their way to help in every way possible. From getting us checked into our rooms and later to our evening meal. The food on each plate was more than anyone can eat they certainly give large portions there and breakfast the following day was no different. I would fully recommend this place for a stay when coming to the forest for a visit as there are many local attractions close by.

Popped in for breakfast, wasn’t staying at this hotel. Glad I visited. Incredible selection of cold breakfast items in terms of value for money. The cooked breakfast was done to order and was beautiful. Couldn’t believe all of this was just £6. Incredible value for money.

Had Sunday lunch.... fantastic Great portions, fresh veg, lovely pudding, excellent service, all staff very welcoming and helpful. Highly recommended (but don't push in front of us)? 😉

My wife & I went to the Belfry on a whim,I had gammon steak my wife had chicken curry, absolutely beautiful cooked food very tasty and well priced,great atmosphere and friendly staff,we will definitely go again, highly recommend.

The food was nice, but the plates were not warm enough & the 2 Steak meals he Steak, chips etc all needed to be hotter. Will not be going back

It’s ok. Bit old fashioned. Average pub. Average range of beers. Average range of food. Nice staff. Wouldn’t plan a night out there. Might pop in for a swift pint.

We were staying in a holiday cottage nearby, and this was one of the places to eat the owner recommended. Given the current situation we booked in advance, and we felt very safe with all the COVID-19 adjustments in place. The food was traditional pub grub: burgers, scampi, lasagne etc. The portions were very generous, and lots of chips with everything. My husband was disappointed that there was no real ale on tap; the best they could offer was John Smith’s keg. The wine I had was OK, but nothing memorable. All in all, it was fine. No complaints, but I wouldn’t rush back.

In the heart of the village you will find The Belfry. A large car park, with a beer garden, this pub is difficult to miss as you travel through the lovely village of Littledean. There is a wide choice on the menu covering all tastes & they are very comprehensive for any diner with an allergy. Prices are not expensive, so you can indulge yourself & not rob the bank!

Always a good meal here!! Their Carvery is amazing, as are their steak and curry nights. The portion sizes are generous and tastes yummy!! The only thing that lets it down sometimes are the the staff, there are some that are quite unhelpful and miserable.

I visited on Thursday which is Steak and sweet night. It was £11.95 for a 10oz rump steak meal and a sweet. I was asked if I wanted a sauce instead of a sweet which I did as I don’t like sweets so that was great for me. Choice of jacket, chips, mash or new potatoes. When it came out, it was on a massive platter, steak, potatoes, peas, mushrooms, onion rings, tomatoes and salad! It was enormous! I sent compliments to the chef because he had cooked my steak to perfection! It was the nicest piece of steak I have had in a very long time! Cannot praise or endorse it enough!

Really good value and generous portions. Well presented with a good atmosphere. Worth a visit and definitely worth the money.

We stayed with friends for the weekend in the hotel. Food in the restaurant is very nice! Price ok too. I had the lasagna and my friend had the fish and chips, both were delicious.

We stayed here for the northern soul all dayer, what a great hotel very clean, great rooms great price , the only down side the bar staff the young girls , need to smile felt like we were being served by misrable sods, after all the customers pay your wages, breakfast was plentiful, the cook if you wanted poached egg no trouble what so ever,

Good roast dinner for us oldies on a Wednesday. Very reasonably priced and a nice bright atmosphere.

We love going down to the Belfry on a Sunday. The meat is always fantastic and provided in decent quantity, on the odd occasion they even have pigs in blankets! At £8.95 its a reasonable price and far superior to that of Toby Carvery!

Came for their Elton John tribute party evening. Was well organised, food was good, considering the numbers! Beef was tender, Turkey moist. All served with a smile, nothing too much trouble. Lashings of gravy. With started and mains, dessert was huge! Lemon meringue, just couldn't finish it! Judging by everyone else I think we will be back next year. 😁 Elton tribute was very good too, he was talented, amusing and accommodating. Most enjoyable. Thank you all at The Belfry.

Went there today for the first time to catch up with a family member, was amazed at how busy they were for a cold Saturday lunch time, we were advised that our food might be sometime due to the amount of customers, that was fine, food was very good for the price, the service we received was good to, plenty of parking, however we were sat in a seating area with speakers playing the sound from a television set in the bar, this meant talking to each other while a football match was being shown in another part of the restaurant/bar is very off putting

Enjoyed sitting outside in the cool and a very filling meal. A good selection of foods from curry to Fish & Chips...

Popped here for lunch with our baby after visiting Littledean Jail. My beef and horseradish sandwich was so rubbish i need to rant. The beef was awful, it was hard to cut through with a knife and fork let alone my teeth.

So, so disappointed. We have been to this pub for outstanding lunch time meals , on lots of occasions, and never been let down. Yesterday was the first. We went, for a special treat, as we were celebrating our golden wedding. There were new menus on the tables and on reading it found only baguettes ,sandwiches and jacket potatoes. I asked if they had the main menu and was told they don't do it anymore at lunch time. I was so looking forward to either a steak or one of their excellent 'chicken in a creamy sauce'. They did Garlic, Stilton or mushroom. Or Belfry chicken, fabulous. The lady who spoke to us said that if we wanted steak she thought there might be a couple in the fridge. We decided to forgo the steaks, I didn't want half a job. We decided to leave. I could have cried. The meals used to be fantastic and I really didn't want to drive 20 odd miles to eat a sandwich. I'm afraid they have lost 2 regulars and the others that we used to take with us.

we had a great wedding venue at the belfry,food was good accommodation brilliant.the manager shane grindle was brilliant,didnt want for nothing,as well as his staff,they were all top notch.would definitely recmend the belfry the service is no1.couldnt fault our wedding day there.thank you shane,and his staff

Popped in here for a bite to eat after a day out canoeing. Very friendly staff served us and the food was great value for money.

Pub grub style food from a wide and varied menu. Good value, pleasant staff, clean surroundings. Nothing outstanding but a good pub selling good food.

Went with friends as we stayed in the hotel. I had the steak. My friends had the Belfry chicken, beef lasagna and battered cod. All delicious! We will eat there again at our next visit.

The menu is fairly standard Pub Grub style. The portions are generous considering the price and the food of good quality without being outstanding. Service was swift albeit a little curt. A very popular meeting place for the locals by the look of it

There is a lovely atmosphere in this pub and it is clean and friendly, the food was ok but we were let down by a few simple errors that just made this place miss the mark for us.

Great atmosphere in the bar, locals all friendly, Staff are attentive and always there to help.On saturday nights they have live music which can sometimes be too loud for my liking.

9 times out of 10 the food in this place is wonderful, but on the odd occasion it isn't, but I suppose this happens in the best of places. The pub has a welcoming atmosphere and the staff are friendly. I would recommend visiting here if you want a good meal for a reasonable price.

Had the ploughman's which was huge and comes with all the usual + new potatoes. Ordered extra bread but didn't really need it.

Just had a great steak here . Would thoroughly recommend it. Lovely smoky bbq flavour and so tender.

Went here for my child to have a play in the park and have some good outside in the sunshine . The food was beautiful and very reasonable and generous! The outside area is lovely for children and the staff are friendly too.

On this lunch time visit the restaurant was quiet, but the bar seemed to be well attended, I had a steak & ale pie with new potato's & peas, my wife had the 4oz sirloin steak with chips salad & peas, all very nice, and for £6 per person was good value for money.
