Great food good service and friendly staff, always worth a visit for a breakfast. Suits me as it’s next to my local fishing lake, so ideal for me to pop in for a lovely breakfast.

Great breakfast and the coffee is the best. I’ve come a few times as live around the corner and it’s never disappointed. Veggie bacon on the veggie breakfast too!

I left a review on Google but I had to make sure audience of trip adviser deserves to know about this fantastic little cafe . Young lady who served me was friendly and professional.! A brilliant service , plentiful food . Oh let’s not forget and a great value. Try it . You won’t regret it.

Usually a nice place to park up your bike and have a coffee or a bite. But today was very different. Ordered the vegan breakfast and coffee. I had to put so much sugar in the coffee as it was so bitter and tasted like the beans had been burnt. Roughly about 30 mins later a woman comes out with two plates: toast and butter on one and fried egg and some kind of fried pink thing with other bits on the other. I told her that I ordered the vegan breakfast and she said yeah the veggie breakfast. I replied no, the vegan breakfast. She huffed, left the toast and butter and returned to the kitchen. Another young lady came out and apologised. I gave her the butter and asked for a vegan alternative. Again apologies but no alternative. Approximately 30 mins later, I had finished off the dried toast at this point, a small plate (think side plate size) is presented to me containing mushrooms, green leaves, half a tomato, small pot of beans and a burnt potato thing. At this point I'm still so hungry I just eat what I can and leave. So so disappointing. Would not recommend at all.

Came her for brunch with husband and two kids after hearing good reviews. Kids pancakes and full English was great, fish finger sandwich was good but I ordered a club sandwich and received a chicken and bacon mix in a sandwich, which isn’t the same (not three layers and bread not toasted, also no salad in the sandwich) . I queried with the server that it wasn’t a club sandwich and he returned after checking to tell me it was 😂. They need to not offer a food if they don’t know what it is they’re offering, it was also really dry bread and dry chicken chunks so didn’t eat most of it. Coffee was good but milkshakes were full of ice chunks and gritty so not great. Husbands coffee didn’t come out with other drinks and had to be asked again for, also the toast and chips came after everything else so was a bit disjointed however the cafe was very busy. Maybe I ordered badly but wouldn’t rush back for the money and service.

Waited nearly 40 minutes for a sausage egg sandwich which was in edible. It is handy for the car wash, but next time I’ll just have a coffee :-(

Try finding somewhere that serves lunch in Sandy on a Monday and you will come up with a blank. Five pubs, pizza restaurant, Indian and Chinese - all closed. Looked like our U3A cycle group tackling the beautiful cycleway from Bedford to Sandy would be bitterly disappointed. Then, hey presto, Trip Advisor came up with this absolutely gem of a cafe situated at Girton Bridge on the edge of the A1 just outside the town. I phoned, booked a table for eight and my goodness, what a real surprise. Outstanding food - ham cut from the bone, tripled cooked chips, fresh garden peas, two eggs at a bargain price. Others had a full English breakfast or a filled and generous baked potato served with salad and dressing. As for the coffee - well that's the speciality here ... I challenge you to find a better cup anywhere. Toilets spotless. Staff so friendly and welcoming. Sustained by such a wonderful treat, the cycle back to Bedford was something of a doddle, even on a bitterly cold afternoon. Well done. We shall certainly be back.

A family member suggested meeting up here for breakfast one Sunday and I was pleasantly surprised. Friendly service, good food and plenty of it at a good price. Full English breakfast with toast and tea or coffee included in the price beats most other venues around and can fully recommend a visit sometime.

We were a little trepidatious looking at the reviews but the food was very good. English breakfast and a burger were very tasty. The tea was "builders" strength so we were happy. I would recommend especially for a hangover cure

After reading the reviews and on the recommendation of a friend I thought I'd give Amici a try. Had the full English, it doesn't look like the pictures on their website. Slow service, pretty tasteless and dry. Back to Chunky's it is for me.

Ordered a small breakfast with a cup of tea, breakfast took over 20 minutes to arrive. Toast was black as anything, sausage was undercooked and pretty much raw. Beans were lukewarm and the tea finally arrived about half way through eating the breakfast. Will not return, would recommend grizzlys on the a1 towards Sandy instead. Cheaper and always quicker service

Breakfast with friends this morning left us feeling disappointed having read all the positive reviews about this place. Over an hour wait for a breakfast, then delivered with items missing and by a surly member of staff as we had dared to ask where our food was. We were offered a complimentary drink for the delay, but to be hones, we just wanted to get on with our already delayed day.

Came to Sandy for a family party the day before. Stayed over in a local accommodation which did not provide breakfast so decided to stop here the next morning on the way home. Came with my partner and two children. We ordered a full English breakfast, children’s sausage and chips with beans, American pancakes with maple syrup and fruit and a cheese and tomato omelette. All the food was really nicely presented. Very good portion sizes. We all really enjoyed out meals. Toilet facilities really clean too. Smoothies and milkshakes were delicious, as was the coffee that my partner had. Overall we were really pleased with this place and would definitely return if we are in the area again. Highly recommend having breakfast here. If I lived closer I would definitely be a regular customer.

Visited for coffee and cake, apparently this has been taken over recently so the current service does not seem to reflect the previous reviews on this site. We waited for ages for a couple of coffees and cake to be brought over, was also pretty smoky in there from whatever was cooking. Plus point was that the cakes we had were really nice, the coffee was nice but lukewarm and the 15 minutes it took to get them wasn't great. Also, some of the décor is a bit worn out. The place was not busy when we visited mid-morning so could really do a lot better.

We went for breakfast and really enjoyed it. Our breakfast cost £14 which included a drink. The hot chocolate was delicious and food was lovely with great variety. Only thing we would say, the breakfast would benefit from some maple syrup/butter for the waffle in particular. The man that served us was lovely. Thank you.

Nice place to stop on walk around Woburn deer park. Good beers, great sausage rolls and other bar snacks. Not the cheapest and service can be very slow at times, but it is still a lovely place to stop.

Were not allowed to sit down inside because "we can push tables closer". There were more free tables than taken.

Hot & cold drinks, bacon / sausage sandwiches, excellent sausage rolls (very good quality) pastries etc Lots of outside seating, geared towards cyclists there are bicycle racks and a sales / repair shop on site. The owner is friendly and it seems very popular as lots of cyclists came and went while we were there. Would definitely visit again when I’m next in the area.
