Amber's Pizza Co in Shropshire

Have been to this restaurant 8 or 9 times and always had superb pizzas. In July 2024 the experience wasn’t very good. I was served with a very burned pizza. When I complained I was told ‘it was fine’! I complained to a second waitress who agreed the pizza should be changed. The second pizza arrived and it looked fine. But when I ate some of it I tasted burned pizza once again. I looked at the underside and about half of that was burnt. I ate the good half and complained once again that I had received another pizza, 50% of which had been burnt. After some challenge from them they gave me 50% off. But I felt that the overall service, where my challenge about burned pizza hadn’t been readily accepted, had been incredibly poor. So I sent an email to the owner. They responded saying that I had received ‘compensation’ for the poor experience by getting a 50% reduction in price! But that reduction was for the inedible half of the pizza. I replied challenging their view but never received a reply. Haven’t eaten there again since because I don’t appreciate such poor customer service.

The food and drinks were amazing however, I do believe improvements to make the general service of guesting dining in would make the place better. Due to medication, I'm unable to drink and asked for a virgin mojito. The server didn't know what that was so I mentioned that it's a mojito with Apple Juice replacing the Rum, I still paid full price for this. We also weren't offered anymore drinks when our food came and I had to go up to the bar to request some more, no check-back nor allergy check was provided either. Having a background in Hospitality, I found it to be a lack of service. Overall the experience, food and staff were lovely but I can tell that improvements are necessary. There also seems to be a lack of advertisement of alcohol-free drinks on the menu.

We stopped here for lunch halfway through a long drive home from South Wales to Northern England, having found out online that it had a good vegan offering. There was a choice of 6 vegan pizzas, which included some standard options (e.g. margarita) and some interesting and unusual options. We loved the pizza which had a butternut squash puree base (instead of tomato) with hazelnuts on top. Two points that could be improved: 1. The vegan options could be a section on the main menu, or at least the main menu should say "please ask for our vegan menu". There is nothing marked vegan on the main menu and nothing to tell you that there even is a vegan menu. This is a shame, given how amazing the vegan options are. 2. It would be great to be able to tip on the card machine. We never have cash so were unable to tip the staff, and the service was brilliant.

This was a return visit to Ambers, except that we went for dinner rather than lunch. I would advise booking for dinner to avoid disappointment - it was good to see the place pretty busy on a Wednesday evening. As on our previous visit the pizzas were delicious. The stand out one that we ordered was on special - a blanco with wild broccoli, smoked sea salt and fennel & white wine sausage. OMG. It is probably the best pizza topping I have ever had in my life. PLEASE make it a regular menu item! My wife had the nduja sausage pizza - lovely tangy tomato sauce and v spicy sausage, where you are hit with wine and chilli. Wow. Pizza was accompanied by a very tasty Romanian Pinot Noir. A perfect pizza experience!

Ambers Pizza Co was one of the top recommendations for places to eat in Oswestry by our B&B host Michael at Nant Gloyw. The pizza's were superb, reasonably priced and the service quick and friendly. As well as traditional toppings they also had some unusual, but delicious alternatives. I had a Moroccan lamb merguez pizza, which had tomato, mozzarella, spiced lamb mince, red onions, fresh coriander, yoghurt with mint and pomegranate seeds. As well as pizza they had a range of other dishes which looked tempting, including some delicious sounding desserts.

5 out of 5 for us. Delicious food, good wine menu and very attentive service. Lovely atmosphere and reasonably priced. Highly recommend a visit

All 3 pizzas we ordered were perfect, I had the lamb pizza, it was delicious. They even offered to put the rest of my daughters in a box to take home 😊 The bartender/manager was very warm, attentive and friendly. I also like that you can see the pizzas being made. Also glad I ordered the Caesar salad as a side, wow that was tasty! We will definitely be back! Thank you

We have been to Ambers quite a few times and have always had amazing pizza We were having a big family party last weekend and wanted to have pizza, especially Amber’s pizza. We ordered quite a few and Joe and his team did not disappoint. Every pizza was fabulous and EVERYONE commented how good they were. They made a massive contribution to making the party such a success. We are so lucky to have such a fantastic independent pizza restaurant in Oswestry. Again, many thanks to all the team at Ambers and if you have never visited, do go!

Brilliant, fresh pizza with incredible flavours you simply won’t get anywhere else. Great service and atmosphere. Travelled from Shrewsbury specifically for the pizza and we were not disappointed, plus the travel is not far at all. Highly recommend!

This was only my second visit to Amber’s and I can’t recommend it highly enough. Service, menu choice and staff were all spot on and my pizza was delicious. Not your average, run of the mill pizzeria.

Called into this small place and they had room for us to eat. At first sight it looked a bit basic (more like a take away) but we were so glad we visited. I had a Veganuary pizza - houmous base, hazelnuts, pomegranate, and spicy cauliflower. It was amazing - I really enjoyed it. My husband has a spicy nduja pizza - which he also enjoyed. The pizza bases were thin and crispy with fat crusty edges - lovely. Don't walk past this place - go in - you won't be sorry.

Have you ever ordered pizza and salad for lunch whilst on holiday somewhere on the Mediterranean and then asked yourself why the pizza smells and tastes better than any you can find back home in England? Oswestry may not be able to offer you the sunshine of a Med. resort, but Amber's pizzaria can authentically recreate that holiday pizza experience! We went for lunch and shared a Welsh chorizo pizza......hand-made dough with a puffed, raised crust and a slight char on the base. The smell! The flavour! An utterly delicious pizza. Dare I say that the gorgonzola and walnut salad that we ordered with the pizza was an even more delightful experience? Well, it was! The service was friendly and the setting simple but stylish (just like many a taverna / restaurant in the Med.). The food, two large beers and a large glass of red all for under £40. Give yourself a holiday treat without costing or travelling the earth!

We have visited Ambers on several occasions as a Family and found the pizzas to always be excellent and service prompt. However I felt compelled to write about a not so great experience with service on our most recent visit. I have noticed in the past that when it comes to paying the bill, there doesn’t seem to be any plan, it just gets thrown on the table. Staff leave you for ages (not sure why as clearly if you’ve asked for the bill you’re ready to pay.,,,) of course if customers were told to go up when they’re ready to pay, or were asked if they’re ready to pay at the table that would be absolutely fine, not a problem. After waiting a long while - my son went up to pay - and he was greeted with a fair amount of bad attitude from a fair haired guy with a beard, for no real reason that we could work out, other than he seemed surprised to be spoken to. It was an unpleasant end to an otherwise very pleasant meal.

My husband and I are on a quest to find the best pizza place within 20 mile radius,we have our list for service, hospitality, the pizza, and value for money. I'm one fussy person and hate paying for food, rather stay at home and cook something from scratch for the family .. But OMG Amber's pizza in Oswestry are amazing, Waitress service 10/10 she didn't bombard us straight away to order drinks,gave us time with a smile. Pizzas arrived didn't have to wait to long and again 10/10,fresh,and full on.. Value for money.. again 10/10 We only had pizza's each and struggled to finish them, nearly a doggy bag to take home but was way too nice ... Would I return.......... hell yes.xx

We visited this lovely little unpretentious pizza restaurant in Oswestry this evening for the second time and it was as good this time as before. We started with the mozzarella and pesto which was amazing, one of the best mozzarella we have ever had. The pizzas were as fantastic as before, we think the best in our area of Shropshire. We noticed Amber used a lot of local ingredients which is something we support. This little restaurant is so good with friendly knowledgable staff As you tell we really enjoyed our meal, look forward to going back and can’t recommend it highly enough

Absolutely beautiful food with a wonderful atmosphere and really great service. Was recommended by a friend who took us there for dinner and we were so grateful as we had a lovely evening with some of the finest pizza I’ve ever eaten. Great selection for vegans like myself (and meat eaters like the rest of our group). Would highly recommend

Amazing quality food, lovely service, massive selection of drinks and sides & pizzas. The Moroccan inspired pizza was hands down one of the best pizzas i have ever eaten. Such a pleasure this place is in town, can’t recommend it enough

My favourite restaurant in Oswestry, lovely pizza, clean restaurant and friendly staff. Pizza is on the more expensive side but it's definitely worth it! Highly recommend.

We had our annual Christmas get together here. There were 8 of us and all the orders were spot on, the staff were attentive and a good laugh. Pizza was exceptional and we'll definitely be back!
