The best Asian restaurants in Glasgow. Their food was amazing. From goll gappas to Ras malai everything was so tastay and yum. The food that gives your taste buds a feel of pakistan. The karahi and the stakes were brilliant too. Hoping to visit again and again.

Tried several dishes during last visit, the food quality is below average. Ordered lamb mince and it had hard chewy tendon minced together with the meat and it was full of fat as well. At least it reminded me of Pakistan :-D The half chicken karahi had three pieces of chicken neck :-D That too reminded me of Pakistan. It's kind of Authentic Pakistani restaurant like the ones near bus stands or train stations in Pakistan.

Ordered food over two hours ago. Has not been delivered but has just been marked as delivered. Total waste of time and money.

After reading some negative reviews, I was hesitant to try ambala today. Then I decided to go for it and me and my family absolutely loved it. Wife got a masala fish which she loved. I got a mix kebab. All types off kebas were fresh and full of flavour. Then we got rasmalai which was the best we have ever tasted. The girl serving us was great. She was friendly and very attentive. Will definitely be back and highly recommend to others.

Authentic Desi Pakistani food, well worth the visit. The food is super tasty, staff are amazing, portion size are fantastic. Well worth the price and the visit, you are missing out if you walk past this restaurant. Lamb Karhai on bone and Faluda highly recommended.

The only authentic Pakistani restaurant we could find , Freshly cooked Chicken Karahi was just amazingly nice and Biryani was nice too . Must try Falooda as a dessert. We were really pleased to find this restaurant and wish we had found this on the first day we arrived in Glasgow.

Went today at 12:40 for lunch, it was closed, lady sed open at 1clock (online says 12.30pm) so went in at 1 got seated and lady said chef is not here won’t be here till later 2 clock. Disappointed!

Over an hour late, the foods came absolutely freezing, Absolutely disgusted.

I order kebab platter 3x and fish pakora, I ate 2 pieces of fish while been there, got the rest packed up, came home was going to have it for dinner, heated it up and it was CHICKEN pakora instead of FISH pakora! It’s disgusting how they can swap the food while taken away for packing, it’s just very disappointing what u pay for never receive! It had happened few times before too with my family! I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone!

Excellent staff and customer service, so welcoming and accomodating. We ordered halwa channa puri, fries, paratha and chai, everything was freshly prepared, tasted amazing (channa was very close to lahori channay) and served pipping hot. We enjoyed the left overs the next day too. Our daughter is a very fussy eater and surprisingly she enjoyed each and every item. The staff kept coming to check if we were happy with the food and needed anything else. Great ambience and homely vibes. Definitely going back! Keep it up!

Well decorated sitting area. Food delicious I ordered chicken biryani but was too hot for me. I had to get extra yoghurt in order to be able to eat. Even with that I couldn’t eat the full portion. Staff provided good service.

I visited Ambala on Friday. The customer service 10/10. Food was amazing and the best curry l have had anywhere. I never usually leave a review but after visiting Ambala l am definitely going again and will be recommending my family and friends also.

The restaurant and staff are very friendly and was a good experience for me and my family coming for the very first time to Glasgow it reminded me of the home-cooked style food that I was used to back home with a Scottish twist would recommend to anyone visiting Glasgow for the first time

We a family off 3 attended this restaurant with high expectations we where disappointed the staff where walking around looking exhausted and tired the service was poor we waited 20 minutes for our drinks they then never gave any ketchup with my sons food our main course was tasty but the overall staff experience spoiled it two asian woman and one man who did not speak any english what use was this i went too the bathroom too wash my hands it was like a swamp water all.over the floor used tissues everywhere how hard is it too have it cleaned health hazard waiting too happen there we will not be visiting this place again sorry!

Overall the experience was good, food is slightly over priced for Glasgow area however the quality and taste was amazing. I will definitely recommend to others to try out.

Just went and the food was amazing from the starters to the mains to the dessert, the best Pakistani food I’ve had in the uk, I hope more branches will be opened up around the country particularly in places like Liverpool, Manchester and Birmingham

Not even worth 1 star, we visited as a family all the from London for first time, when we was asked to place our order almost half of that we was denied, the guy excuse is we can't make this ... We very busy.... We can't make that we are very busy .... We can't make this it will take too long!! In the end we got fed up after trying to alternate our food order only to be told each time "this and that can't be done". In the family we had a 5year old and 7 year old children with us . After all this we decided to leave and said that's fine . Absolutely horrendous service. Avoid if ya don't want to waste your time. Was very disappointed with the experience for our first time.

Order arrived on time. Somasa salad was just a samosa in a tub with some onions, literally just onions. No salad at all. Rest of the meal was fine.

Ordered the PAYA; something I last had in Lahore sometime ~15 years ago. Delicious indeed. However, can improved slightly on the serving time and slightly lowered down the volume of the music. It took a while for the food to be served.

Ambala restaurant is the place that makes us visit Glasgow every now and then from our city which takes us around 2.5 to 3hrs drive. There food,atmosphere and now they have changed the whole setup as well which makes it more inviting and pleasant ,so visit it now more often. Whatever other dish we eat we always order there suji halwa which is just out of the world because they use homemade Desi ghee which has an incredible taste which u can’t get anywhere from any other restaurant or even in ur own home.its a must try. We even love to eat qeema Karahi as well. Prices are very reasonable and staff is very friendly.

I have been going to Ambala for a long time now,but to be honest this time they have refurbished it and the food recipes are absolutely amazing and tasty I mean the quality has gone up big time and my favourites are their Desi karahi and also the chicken seekh kebabs with naan and salad i literally have it every second week or so… highly recommend it, girl staff is really nice too they always welcome me so nicely keep it up girls 👌🏻🫶🏼🙂

Never been disapointed with there food, been several times and has never failed me, infact im on my way again for another meal

Food was okay, I would say it was anything special. As a frequent curry enjoyer and veteran of trying new places this sits right in the middle of food. It was non offensive and perfectly adequate but nothing great or recommendation worthy. The chips were great though, roasting hot and well salted. We had a mixed grill aswell which was cooked well. Overall I was unimpressed with the flavours and would say Cafe India in the west end was better and a nicer place to be aswell. The portions were big with good cuts of meat being used. Tasted of good quality but again nothing outstanding. The surrounding area isn't great and not somewhere I'd like to have a post dinner walk like Kabbabish on Victoria road.

We've been getting takeaway from Ambala for years, and it has always been delicious. We recently decided to dine in as they have refurbished the place and it's beautiful. Lovely staff and service, great atmosphere for a weeknight, and as always amazing food.

Today I visit ambala with my family wow wow wow food was delicious 😋 Lahori chaska lamb karahi was top notch.Super mix grill was mouth watering . Service was fantastic and atmosphere was amazing .definitely visit again soon

Absolutely disappointed by this place. Chicken charsi karhai was 4 / 10 chicken was uncooked told the staff they did nothing. Ordered brain fry n chicken seekh kebab honestly I've had better ones so not going there again unfortunately!

So, after we finished hiking up Ben Nevis, we decided to treat ourselves to a meal before heading back home. And let me tell you, we found this amazing place with the best food you can find in these parts. The curries, especially the lamb and chicken, were absolutely delicious! The only downside was the parking situation. The restaurant doesn't have its own dedicated parking area, so we had a bit of trouble finding a spot.

It was a great experience, I loved the ambience and food but the green tea was like hot water with no flavour in it otherwise I liked their naan, chapli kebab, peri peri chicken wings, chips and gol gappas.

Not recommended for a family with average income. I recently visited Ambala and was disappointed to find that the menu lacked detailed descriptions of the dishes. Specifically, the 'Mixed Grill' option was vague, leaving us unsure of what to expect. Furthermore, I was surprised by the high prices, which seemed inconsistent with my prior understanding of their pricing strategy. It's possible that their prices have increased since their renovation, which may be a factor to consider for future patrons. The taste was also not satisfactory.

Ambala after renovation is serving to another level of food and service. I must say new staff is extremely nice specially all the girls.their grill was literally one of the best grill i have ever had,seekh kebab reminded me of pakistani bbq,karrahi was freshly made and portion was soooo good.I must let you know their peri peri pizza is must have and authentic falooda not to b missed.❤️

I came in with my friend and the girl at the front told us to sit anywhere, when we did another girl asked us where we were going and I told her we got told to sit anywhere, then she pointed to a table for us to sit. We looked through the menu which took about 15/20 mins to decide but no one came over to take our order so I had to ask one of the girls who said something from a table further away and made no effort. We waited 10 mins again and then I asked her again and she muttered something then walked away, I then waited again and asked her then she started speaking to me in Urdu which I could barely understand she just assumed I knew Urdu, all I understood from her was a guy was coming over as she doesn’t take orders she wasn’t helpful at all! Does that mean you only have one person to take orders for the whole restaurant?! Even the table next to us weren’t impressed, one of them said the hospitality was 0! This resulted in me and my friend walking out as we felt no staff made an effort and we were definitely put off and don’t think we will be back! I think maybe it would be best if you hired people who could also speak English to interact with customers! If there was an option for 0/5 I would have clicked that!

I had an opportunity to eat at this restaurant with my family! We ordered garlic naans, reshmi kabob, lahori chaska karhai boneless, saag !!! The food arrived on time, the quantity was awesome. This place has lots of flavour and I would highly recommend it to my friends and families !! It’s newly renovated and the interior is beautiful as well! The staff was super friendly.

Poor service,food was late .mas were served well before food came they were cold when food came .complained instead of making fresh nans they heated them in microwave .Worst of all lambs chops they were uncooked ,meat with blood pouring out horrible experience

In Glasgow for the weekend with my son. This place came recommended by a good friend and she was on the mark. The food here is fantastic. The service was relaxed and very friendly. A really good family atmosphere. We had :- Vegetable Pakora to start, were delicious. Kobeda Kebab, absolutely superb. Lamb Bhindi Gosht so good I've been craving more. Chicken Tikka Masala Desi Style, my son devoured this in record time. Had Chapati and Pilau Rice, both were spot on. Two days after the event and I'm desperate to get back to Glasgow south side to relive this. We had a superb weekend in Glasgow taking in the sighs and sounds with many highlights. This was a bit of a detour, but so worth it. It has now become a reason in itself to visit Glasgow. Huge thanks to everyone at Ambala for what my son says 'was the absolute best'. We will be back at the first opportunity.

flavours were great but disappointed in the quality if the chicken...no thighs... leg or white it was all the scraggy bits...neck and some other bones hardly any chicken ..the same with the lamb ...bones with no meat on it...spent a lot of money on the 2 dishes ...disappointing...
