Mamasan in Glasgow City

We had a big table on the mezzanine for my husbands 40th a week or so ago. Food was great and service excellent. Didn’t catch the name of the main guy dealing with our table but shout out to him for putting up with us and for being very attentive.

What a stunning restaurant! The food was gorgeous, we had the chicken satay followed by the ribeye accompanied with a beautiful red. The staff are friendly & polite too. Definitely worth a visit if you’ve never been, only a few minutes walk from Queen Street Train Station.

Had a fab tasting menu experience at Mamasan Glasgow last night. Twelve of us from Glasgow Social Events went for the Lost in Bangkok experience and some of us had the wine pairing too which was fantastic and so well done. Big shout out to Oscar and all the team who looked after us so well and were very friendly and helpful. Defo be back

Visited the place for the first time with a large group of friends last night (13th September) and had the tasting menu Lost in Bangkok along with the wine pairing. Fabulous night the food and wine were so good and well matched. The service with Oscar and the team was brilliant. I really look forward to coming back

We went to Mamasan for the ‘Lost in Bangkok’ tasting menu which was amazing! Varied courses and the option to add a wine pairing for only £25 extra! The prawn and pork cracker was a particular stand out dish. Everything was so tasty and fresh and cooked to perfection, would highly recommend! Our server Oscar was great too and always made sure our drinks were topped up.

Ten of us had a fabulous meal at Mamasan tonight - the 5 course Taste of Bangkok menu. Some of us also chose the wine pairing option. Service from Oscar was exemplary - efficient and friendly. I will return.

Great service, staff all very friendly and knowledgeable about the food and drinks on offer. As it was my birthday I also received a free cocktail which was not only lovely but tasted delicious!

Myself and my partner went recently for lunch. We redeemed an "itison" voucher for the 5 course taster menu. Great value. The food was really nice. A well designed menu and brought loads of different flavours. A really pleasant experience. The service was spot on, everyone was really friendly and attentive. Shout out Cameron, Finn, Conor and Nicola. They looked after us so well. I would definitely recommend and look forward to being back. One note- consider adding the optional course if you're very hungry.

The atmosphere couldn’t be faulted, the music is great and the restaurant decor overall is nice. The service could be better; it was quite slow and we didn’t seem to get checked up often making it difficult to get more drinks or the bill.

As soon as the food started to arrive, our slightly sluggish order taking was forgotten. The menu is extremely diverse, with an array of inspirations coming through. Some of the best food I’ve had in the city this year. The atmosphere is lovely, with the bar & DJ booth being stand out features.

Came here with my partner for a date night - the service from Skye was amazing and she really helped us understand the menu and make some great recommendations. The food was top class !!

Just had the nicest meal and cocktails in here! The staff are so knowledgable and lovely, what a fab Friday night spot in Glasgow!

Stopped in last minute for dinner on a Tuesday night, the place was very quiet. had the Beef Short Rib Massaman Curry, It was fantastic, staff were attentive and pleasant.

We went for the second time to the restaurant but this time to try the Thai set menu and it was amazing!!! The menu was 5 dishes and all of them were delicious, specially the calamari and the bees! 10 out of 10! The service was excellent and they make sure we had a great night .. definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Glasgow

We visited Mamasan in Glasgow for a drink on Saturday evening. We received the warmest of welcomes from the super friendly Conor. Lovely to chat to someone from County Down and a fellow Alumni!! ( Lift up your voices 🤣) Other staff also pleasant, helpful and friendly. Cocktails excellent-We will be back next time we are in Glasgow!

Expensive, but not overly so for a city centre restaurant. The smoked rib massaman curry was incredible

Absolutely amazing place. Decor is outstanding. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Food is brilliant 👏 and tasty. No more to say except. We'll done Mamasan.

Tried the lunch time special, which was either three little plates or one little & one large for £15pp. We both had the chicken satay to start, which was nice. Then we decided to share two large plates and opted for the stir-fried chicken nam prik pad and the southern yellow pumkin curry. Both came with rice, in the one bowl for us to share, rather than separately. The chicken in the nam prik pad was overcooked and tough, but because we had decided to share the mains and both tried it, it looked like we ate half the plate, so we didn't complain. The yellow curry was OK. When the plates were cleared, we weren't asked if the meal was enjoyed. So, didn't say anything about the tough chicken, and no comment made from the waiter about left over food. Pretty looking place, but the music was a bit loud for lunchtime, and it was pretty empty. Not a place I'd try again, with so many other options in the city centre available. A little over £40 with drinks and tips, and I'm heading up the road with a sausage roll cos I'm still hungry. Ps went to check in and there's no facebook page for the glasgow branch. Make of it what you will.

We went to Mamasan for drinks in May, and the team went above and beyond to help us celebrate our special occassion - the table was fully decorated, with flowers, balloons and complementary bottle of prosecco! Massive thanks to the team, and highly recommend booking at Mamasan for any celebrations you have coming up!

Super flavorful! We had sticky beef ribs, drunken noodles, chicken satay, kale fritters, and pumpkin curry. Each dish was unique. The kale was especially good - more tempura-like than fritter. Definitely recommend. Be aware they add a discretionary 12.5% tip

We went here a month ago. We booked in for a post-honeymoon meal. We were given a voucher as a wedding gift and we were quite excited to try here after hearing about the recent re-vamp. We ordered a few things, plus a bottle of wine one of their medium priced wines. The wine was terrible, we couldn’t finish it. It tasted like cheap petrol station wine. The food did not shine either. The fritters were misnamed. They should have been tempura battered kale. And whilst tasty, they should not be sold as a starter, but rather a side snack. It was essentially like eating air. The pumpkin curry was bland and ‘meh’, whilst my husband said the ribeye was tough, dry and far too small for the price point. In the end, 1 bottle of wine and 4 small plates and two sides came to just under £100. If our voucher had not covered it, we would have been very disappointed to pay those prices for such little food. Service was fine, nothing particularly special though. Whilst the atmosphere was dead. We went on a Friday night and the place was dead and no DJ.

Satay and Thai green curry. Exquisite. Recommended flavors. The staff are also very good.

My wife and I popped in On a Sunday after noon. The restaurant was quiet But still the service was excellent. The food in here was just tremendous.we loved it all we had 3 small plates and shared the short rib curry and all were lovely. We also had two great cocktails and some wine. This is a must try folks as we loved it .

First time here and was such an amazing dining experience. The food was all so delicious. The drinks were excellent. The music was great. Loved the full experience and will definitely be back again soon to go through more of the menu. Highly recommended.

Was pleasantly surprised by this place. The vibe and the people inside made me question it, but it was close to the hotel and highly rated, so we tried it. The food was really good - especially the mushrooms. Drinks were also good and the bartenders will make custom drinks on request. Fun for people watching inside and out.

Amazing cocktails, FOH were lovely and the food came really fast too! Food is super! Lots of veg/vegan options too even for dessert! We’ll definitely be back for cocktails and dessert!! Also love that they put the service on automatically so you don’t have to think about it

I love this place, which is why I celebrated my birthday there. The atmosphere is great, I'm a passive server and it's delicious. Especially the Peking duck was the best I've ever had. A large selection of incredibly tasty cocktails with interesting presentation. If you have friends who don't drink alcohol, you can safely go here, they offer great variations of non-alcoholic delicious cocktails as well.

Went to Mamasan for a wee birthday surprise with the boyfriend on a chill Wednesday night. Food was amazing, highly recommend the satay chicken and charred corn. Server was really friendly and attentive, and the venue itself is modern and chic. Our only thoughts were the place definitely needs more than two deserts and the music could be turned down a little (how old do we sound ha!).

A gem of a find last night (8/6/24) The food was beautiful, absolutely delicious. The service was great too - 2 lovely lads who were courteous and thoughtful. Music was a wee bit loud for our old ears but not too distracting! Highly recommend the bbq pork. Thank you!

Great experience in this restaurant. A warm welcome upon arrival. All staff introduced themselves and explained the menu as we hadn’t been before. great food and great cocktails.fire alarm went off when we were there. Staff took us safely to assembly point and kept us updated . Will definitely be back.

Masaman curry with short rib basically a small portion of bone and gristle so sent it back and settled for the chicken stir fry.

Amazing restaurant in the heart of Glasgow. We had lunch which was delicious. The service was exceptional. Connor was very attentive, friendly and took time to explain the menu. It's a beautiful restaurant and they had music from vinyls playing in the background with a noen sign telling you what was on , which was so cool and atmospheric. We will definitely be visiting again soon. Thanks Connor

Lovely experience sharing the Taste of Luxury menu with friends. Attentive staff led to an enjoyable atmosphere with a sound system that works in conjunction with creating said atmosphere in wonderful surroundings. One criticism would be to receive the rice at the beginning of both waves, rather than at the end, but that really is the only criticism. Will definitely be attending again - great stuff!

Absolutely incredible meal, was really impressed with every dish we had. The pork ribs and drunken noodles were especially good. The flavours were great, and the portion sizes pretty decent. Looking forward to going back!

What an experience. Stopped in for lunch with Julie and the food was incredible. Service was 10/10 too. Tunes were chilled, but can't wait to go back for one of the DJ nights. Enjoyed it so much, heading back with the guys for a Friday night DJ session for the full experience. Can't wait! Stephen

We loved our lunch at Mamasan on Friday. It was our first visit and the flavours were amazing 👏. The service was also fabulous, so knowledgeable, kind, helpful and cheery! All in all a really great experience.

Food was just OK. Music was so loud it was like a night club and you couldn't have a conversation. Service was shocking. Main courses arrived half way through starters. Coke use in toilets was unbelievable. Certainly can't recommend. Won't be back

Food was fantastic but service terrible. I don’t normally write reviews but when it takes an hour for food to arrive and the waiter adds £20 worth of cocktails to the bill when it was the table next to us then this is not acceptable. I mentioned the extra cocktails and the waiter wasn’t that sorry and still kept the “discretionary” service charge on after removing the cocktails that I flagged and huffed when I asked to remove it. Just be wary as I feel this type of mistake is not easily made when our order only had 5 items. After all this I waited 15 minutes and had to go up to physically pay. Just left a sour taste in my mouth to otherwise a pleasant food experience

We came for a quick lunch last Saturday and the food and service was exceptional. All the food came in good time and the bartender was happy to create a great special cocktail for us. Our server luke was exceptional and made us feel like we were dining at a friends house!

Really disappointing meal here. Service was super slow and inattentive. Our food arrived before our drinks. Food delicious but super small portions for the money. Two tiny slivers of butternut squash swimming in sauce was £11. Left really hungry. Good for drinks and atmosphere but would recommend if you are hungry!

Incredible food and amazing service too! The food was really spectacular and they went all out for my partners birthday too. Oscar our server was absolutely brilliant! Would recommend to anyone and we can’t wait to come back! Highly recommend the drunken noodles!

Having been here before and had an absolutely fabulous meal, we were keen to return. The new menu concept I was unsure of, however Connor explained everything, made some recommendations which were absolutely wonderful. We loved chatting away and dishes arriving when they were ready. My husband loved both beef dishes, I loved the prawns and the chicken dish. Drinks were great, one non alcoholic drink which was really refreshing. Connor was so friendly and we remembered him from our previous visit, he is such an asset to the place. Warm, friendly and great recommendations.

The service, drinks and food were excellent - our waitress Ziyi was extremely attentive and helpful!

Food is very good, but you have to wait for it. Service is slow and inattentive. Servive charge is included but ‘optional’ and above the normal 10%. This used to be one of my favourite places to eat in Glasgow, but will not be back in a hurry.

Food and cocktails were delicious. The oyster mushroom dish in particular was amazing!

Is this a restaurant or a disco ? The food quality is high, tastes are great but the whole experience is totally ruined by a very loud music. The place was half empty and this is the reflection of this mismatch between a place where food can be enjoyed and a place where you go for a drink. Sort it before the restaurant will be closed due to a lack of (confused) customers

Wonderful food and very friendly staff!

Bit of a mixed bag tbh. Got there, ordered drinks and food then promptly got evacuated as the fire alarm went off. Bitter cold outside but only had to wait 10/15 mins so back to it. We were cold though and & have to say any booth alongside the facing window on Ingram St got an icy blast every time the door opened. There was a curtain protecting those to the right as you walk in but those on the left had to grin and bear it. It's a nice place although they lit a large incense stick thing at the bar - no idea why? - but we had to ask them twice to move it as it was wafting all over us as our booth was at the bar. The food itself was very good. I initially thought the small plates were really small but the richness of the food made it for it and we were quite full. The Service was initially good but after our mains we had to eventually ask for a menu for desserts at the bar then further had to ask where the dessert was some 30 mins later after ordering. They did waive the charge for the dessert as a result but at £130 for 2 of us I would expect better table service tbh as we felt somewhat abandoned despite several waiting staff continually mullig about the bar. Could do better...

I would highly recommend Mamasan in Ingram street! Went at lunchtime and although no lunchtime menus anymore (revamp), a collection of small/large plates can be ordered. We had chicken satay (small plate) which had the most beautiful sauce. I went for pork belly rice noodles (drunk noodles) and my wife was the mango chicken dish with Jasmin rice. Both beautiful and so tasty! Can't remember the name of the chicken dish. A large plate with 2 sides would have been more than enough but now we know, we can order differently. The cocktails were good, very good. The 'Smoked almond old fashioned' arrived with a lid with burning embers on top, leaving a lovely plume of smoke. The 'black smoke' had an interesting flavor and look (squid ink) 😱 The place is huge and there is a bar section, I look forward to visiting just for a few cocktails. Staff could not be better, attentive, polite and very knowledgeable. Prices are fair for the city centre and worth it for the quality of the food and atmosphere.

Visited with wife and daughter. Right away I knew it was going to be a good experience when we were greeted. The staff was great and really started the experience off right. Food was awesome and drinks were super interesting. Wanted to go back but ran out of time on vacation.

Food was brilliant however service charge added without even asking how much we would want to tip or if we were willing to tip Food was really high standard and worth the price portions were quite large overall dining experience was good bit slow however and the cocktails were just a bit too over powering. I don’t mind tipping at food places however to automatically add 12.5% without asking is a bit rude usually in most restaurants they ask if you want to tip when you pay with card but in this place they seem to add it on without asking which can put people in a awkward situation if they don’t want to say they don’t want to pay the charge. But would go again for the food that was the reason for 4 starts the automatic service charge amount.

Nice food, everything I had seemed to contain quite a lot of chilli! Not for the feint hearted, certainly cleared the sinuses.

We ate here for a Birthday dinner in February. We were incredibly disappointed with the service and thought it was better to write a private email rather than leave a public review. One month later - and there has been no response from the resturant. While the food is delicious some of the portions are tiny and therefore very expensive. What really disappointed us with this visit was the service. When we ordered drinks it would easily take 20 mins for them to turn up - and in one case they missed our order completely. The side plates we were given (to share starters) were filthy (curry sauce etc) - and the staff weren't even that apologetic and took an age to get us clean plates. Have ate here before and enjoyed it - but after a disappointing experience plus radio silence from the resturant - we will not be back

The service and food was second to none! The quality of the food, customer service and overall ambience of the restaurant totally made the price worth it! An absolutely great experience, amazing food and choice, and service tailored to every and any need! Absolutely recommended to everyone and anyone! Thanks to the mamasan team.

Mamasan is a big favourite of mine and my family. My partner and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary at mamasan and we couldn’t ask for better. Service and food were phenomenal. Connor and Luke were both so friendly and welcoming and we were both gifted a glass of fizz to celebrate. Thank guys!

My family visited this restaurant for the first time in late February, on arrival we were greeted with a lovely friendly waiter who was more than helpful. After telling him we had never been before and had no idea what to order he went through the menu and recommended some food he thought would be good for us. He got it spot on the food was amazing and the staff were excellent especially Connor the Irish man, I would definitely go back for more and would also recommend you give the place a try

Lovely lunchtime at Mamasan, Ingram Street, Glasgow. A very stylish restaurant bar with a great selection of cocktails. This was my third visit which says a lot. Fantastic selection of food, great friendly service, an altogether pleasurable way to spend socialising, eating and drinking. The atmosphere is enhanced by ambient music which allows for conversation and adds immensely to a convivial experience.

Unfortunately, while the beef short-rib dish was good, the broccoli one my wife chose was very disappointing. Comically so. 1/2 a head if broccoli for £17. Topped off by the waitress advising it was quite saucy/soupy and jasmine rice with it would be advised (it’s not). She claimed confusion on which dish she was asked about, but the beef curry isn’t soupy either and we’d already ordered a rice with that dish. The music was oppressive, service disappointing, limited and a strict menu (my wife originally asked for the Pad Kra Pao with rice, but was refused). And the adding of a 12.5% service charge automatically for 2 people dining is an abomination. Whether optional or not. Such a shame as the venue looks great, the chicken satay was tasty (but over priced for one skewer of chicken) and the beef short rib was a nice dish.

The food and service were fantastic. Unfortunately they add a discretionary 12% service charge. The lovely serving staff insisted this was optional but it’s still an imposition. We would’ve tipped anyway but this new tendency to include a tip on the bill will not go down well with diners in the U.K. It’s such a shame because we had a lovely experience and all really enjoyed our food.

First time at Mamasan with a friend for our 40th’s. Very warm, professional and friendly welcome from Connor who made it the nicest dining experience. The service from all the staff was amazing. Restaurant is just beautiful. The food was five star and presented so well. Excellent menu. Absolutely delicious and one of the nicest cocktails I’ve had. Highly recommend.

We were looking forward to trying out Mamasan, however overall felt disappointed by the experience. It may have been an off night, however service was slow (staff were great but it felt understaffed as the restaurant was not particularly busy and far from full but service was patchy/slow). The overall service from the kitchen was far too slow, we were 1.5 hours in and still awaited our mains. We really wanted to enjoy the experience but left feeling underwhelmed and wouldn’t return or recommend on basis of our experience. There are far better options in Glasgow and in a competitive environment the management need to buck up their ideas or this venue will struggle in our opinion.

This is a really cool bar brasserie. I was there at lunchtime recently which is why it got on 3 stars for atmosphere...I was the only guest for most of the service. I'm sure it gets really busy at night and would recommend booking in advance. Overall it was a great lunch with attentive staff and excellent food & drinks. It's Asia meets Scotland ..who'd have said that 20 years ago 🤔 but it works. The vibe is cool and I noticed a DJ booth high above the entrance so would expect cool vinyl vibes on a weekend. I enjoyed a pork belly dish with rice. It was a huge portion which I couldn't eat but I managed a space for a cocktail 🍹. Definitely plan to return next time I'm looking for a dinner reservation.

Creative cocktails, interesting menu, food well executed, great service, nice decor. All round a very enjoyable dinner.

Popped in for a cocktail. Cocktail prices approx £12 each. Surprised that a service charge was added to the bill for one round of drinks. We would have left a tip but surely that’s our choice. Pushes the price per cocktail up. And cocktails were ok, not amazing.

Inarguably the best Thai food spot in Glasgow. Stunning interiors. Extremely friendly staff. Connor was an absolute delight. I'll definitely be back here again. Customer for life.

If you're in Glasgow and want good Asian fusion, try bar soba. The food is better quality than here and MUCH cheaper. Service took a VERY long time. Waiters were very nice but when you're waiting 20-30 minutes for your drinks and even longer for your crackers it's not good. The place seemed understaffed. Our initial table placement was admittedly rather strange too - we were placed claustrophobically between two tables when there were plenty of other better options. Thankfully the waiter allowed us to move to an empty booth. The music was too loud and it did not match the upper-end restaurant feel of the furniture etc. If the food had not been on offer we would have been vastly overpaying. Meals that have a lot of details, like 'hay-smoked chicken' do indeed sound nuanced and fancy, but the actual taste was sub-par. We were left unimpressed.

The interior was gorgeous. The service was exceptional and I cannot fault it. Although the food needed an acquired taste at times, the chicken and sea bass were very tasty.

A lovely place overall with beautiful interior. My friends and I had a wonderful time. I didn’t like the chicken satay sauce which was my main as it had a strong peanut flavour and the waiter brought me extra rice to eat. Eveything was good except my main but it was an overall enjoyable experience.

Very poor - average food and overpriced for what it was. There was a stag do in the restaurant who were very noisy and at points they were chanting like football fans. Not what you expect Saturday night. There are so many better places nearby

Wir haben unsere Neujahrsparty im Mamasan verbracht. Von der ersten Minute an haben wir uns super wohl gefühlt. Die Inneneinrichtung ist ein echter Hingucker! Das Essen war der absolute Wahnsinn, super lecker und perfekt abgestimmt. Unser Kellner Connor hat den Abend perfekt gemacht, er war super aufmerksam und sehr herzlich! Vielen Dank auch an die Mitarbeiter Harry, Fin und Cameron, welche mit ihrem Service und den leckeren Cocktails Neujahr zu etwas ganz besonderen gemacht haben !

I was visiting with my friends for a birthday party. Being a foodie myself I don't get a lot of fine dining experiences so I was putting high hopes into this one. I'd say food was definitely great, but there was something missing, some oomph that would make any of the dishes I tried stand out. Now I wish I went for the more asian based ones instead as I heard people really enjoyed their Thai inspired dishes. Trout starter was a slight let down. There just want anything that special about it. Roasted duck was superb, I enjoyed the confit layered parsnip. I also wished for a more exciting deserts menu. I think this place is great for cocktail lovers thought as all cocktails our table had were superb (yet very very pricey)
