What should have been a simple and enjoyable birthday dinner for a group of 8 was very quickly soured when I was told there are no menu options available for someone with peanut allergies (this was specified on the phone when booking). Of course this is a bit surprising, so when further pressed if there are even some side dishes or naan that I could order instead, I was shockingly informed that I can go to a Waitrose grocery store nearby for a peanut free option. Safe to say I won’t be speaking very highly of this restaurant to anyone given how little care they have for dietary restrictions

Terrible experience, had the tasting menu with wine pairings for my husbands birthday. Food was packet food, the scallops were good however the starter, kebab, lamb chop were so bad I asked the waiter to stop half way and get us the bill, it just wasn’t worth wasting the food. There are plenty of restaurants across London with delicious food, affordable and worth the experience. Amaya was just not, I really wouldn’t waste my hard earned money on food here

Having dined at numerous Mayfair, Indian, and Michelin-starred restaurants, I found Amaya to be underwhelming. While the service was acceptable, it lacked the refinement and attentiveness expected at this level. The food, though enjoyable, didn’t quite justify its Michelin status—good, but not exceptional. Given the price point, it felt overpriced for the experience. In comparison, Gymkhana down the road offers a far superior dining experience in both flavor and execution…

Great experience. Lovely food and very good and humble staff. We found parking space 1min walk from the restaurant. Which is Ideal. The entrance to the restaurant is from the back side of the building. The atmosphere was really welcoming. The grill aroma in the restaurant was just enough to make you feel hungry. Had an amazing night out with my wife.

We ate here on the 22nd of February at 9:30 PM. The food was decent, but we saw a mouse while eating dessert that ran in between the kitchen and seating area. If we saw it any earlier we would have definitely left halfway through the meal. The waiter also saw the mouse and we let the manager know. He claimed that they would get pest control in the next day so I would like them to follow up on this claim by emailing me a confirmation or invoice that this was done. Additionally, a review was made 10 months ago by someone else who claimed to have also saw a mouse/rat. We were the only ones left in the restaurant as they were closing up for the night. Won’t be coming back again after seeing that… No compensation was offered at all.

Amaya is one of several one Michelin star Indian restaurants in London. I love Indian food so had to go here for a little celebration. Overall the food and service were excellent (details below) but it really was quite over priced. In the end shared between two we had (menu isn’t online so going from memory): - Chicken Labdabra - chilli lamb chops - Garlic naan - Pilau rice - bottle of still water - two glasses of house champagne And it came to £201! Draw your own conclusion. Tamarind is just as good (ok it lost its Michelin star but in my opinion it is just as good as Amaya). In detail: - Chicken Labdabra: amazing depth of flavour. I’ve never tasted such depth in any Indian dish. Superb. - chilli lamb chop: perfectly grilled, tender and just the right hint of spice - Garlic naan: well prepared and the right amount of garlic and butter - Pilau rice: a real highlight. The way they prepared this rice was unlike any pilau rice I had before. Overall recommended. Would I return? Probably, but I will go to Gymkhana first.

INDIAN TAPA STYLE DINING IN THE MIDDLE OF BELGRAVIA~Michelin Star WELL Deserved!!!! We found Amaya purely by accident as we were staying at a hotel nearby. It was our 1st time at a Michelin starred Indian Restaurant and Amaya did not disappoint. We were lucky to score last minute reservations as due to time difference we were quite hungry much earlier than usual (630pm) as by the time 730pm came around Amaya was packed on this Tuesday night. The menu was very interesting as it is meant more as a Tapa style share menu than a more traditional indian restaurant experience and we had a GREAT time picking 7 small items (excluding the AMAZING must have Truffle Naan and Raita with Pomegranite). We were also given 4 amazing chutneys to use including a fantastic Rose and Cumin as well as Peanut Butter one. Again very unexpected flavors that neither of us had had before in this combination. The Cabbage Noodle Salad was super good and the Chicken Briyani as well as the Black Pepper Chicken and Ginger Chicken were just amazing. The service was fantastic as food just suddenly appeared in front of us in perfect timing to our needs. We decided to try the Indian Lager beer and are glad we did---it mixed perfectly with the spcies and flavors of our various dishes. There was NO way for us to even look at the dessert menu but there were some wonderful choices there as well as we just settled for some fresh mint tea to end this most interesting and fascinating evening of Indian tapa style dining. Don't let your next trip to London go by without checking out Amaya. A special shout out goes to the lovely Hostess from Slovenia who greets you upon your arrival and immediately sets the tone for a beautiful evening to come.

This was our first time experience going to an Indian Tapas fine dine. We have special dietary requirements and Tyson George helped us throughout and made sure we were looked after really well. The food was very good quality and taste but one of the dishes were slightly spicier than they should be(according to me) otherwise food would have got 5 stars too. The atmosphere was great but we felt a bit claustrophobic because of too many tables in a relatively confined area. We were celebrating a special day and the experience made it more special. Tyson went the extra mile to make the day even more special by creating a special dessert for us. I think it is a must visit place if you are a food lover.

Another trip to Amaya and another great meal. Open kitchen is a real treat with plenty of fire and smoke to create a great atmosphere. Lots of small dishes was our fare this time - venison shish kebab, black pepper chicken, scallops and kind prawns - all delicious. Only disappointment was the duck leg - it’s replaced the tandoori duck breast which was an absolute favourite. It’s still good but not remarkable! Big highlight is the truffle nan bread - a must if you like truffle. Beautiful, well coloured nan with plenty of truffle. A real treat! Wine list is good with plenty for all tastes and budgets. It’s not a cheap place but food is very good.

Have been to many Michelin star places and this is just bottom of the pile for me We went for the tasting menu - we got the most bland vinegar soaked salad, followed by greasy kebabs, dry paneer and then a mediocre biryani. ining at Amaya was nothing short of spectacular—an experience that blends culinary artistry, warm hospitality, and an atmosphere that feels both refined and effortlessly inviting. It’s rare to find a Michelin-starred restaurant that delivers excellence without pretension, but Amaya does just that. From the moment we stepped in, the service was impeccable. Calisto, in particular, was outstanding—attentive, personable, and an absolute delight, elevating our experience with his warmth and professionalism. It’s the kind of service that makes a meal feel even more special. And the food? Simply sublime. Each dish was an explosion of flavors, perfectly balanced and exquisitely presented. The delicate interplay of spices, the melt-in-your-mouth textures, and the sheer craftsmanship behind every plate made it a meal to remember. Amaya isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an experience. Understated yet exceptional, it stands out as London’s finest Indian Michelin-starred destination.

A beautiful restaurant ! Me and my wife went to Amaya restaurant to celebrate my wifes birthday, although it was a pleasant experience we just felt very disappointed with the food, we found most of the food items of a sweet taste. Although we realise Amaya is Indian cuisine, I don’t think food should have a sweet taste, we are Pakistani and enjoy authentic Pakistani food with spices and Taste. It’s always a good idea to cater for a few common taste that people enjoy. The texture of the food was lovely, and the quality, it’s just lack of spices and not having the sweet taste in most of the food items on the menu. The mango lassi drink was definitely not up to how it should be, mango lassi is suppose to be sweet, the one we had was not completely sweet it had a bitter taste mixed. Not having the signature Indian chai on the menu was a disappointment. Salad, desserts were lovely, and the service was what you would expect from a Michelin star restaurant. A successful restaurant is all about repeating customers and it’s a shame that we wouldn’t go back as we didn’t enjoy the most important part of the dinner which was the FOOD. Regards

Do not eat here if you have allergies/coeliac. What a very disappointing experience, I have rarely eaten somewhere less helpful on gluten free options and the customer service surrounding this was shocking. The restaurant treated our need for gluten free food as a massive inconvenience, implied we should have gone somewhere else and that the 2 chicken items and 3 veg that we could eat from the extensive menu was more than enough (god forbid I might want some choice in a Michelin star restaurant). In addition the initial service was very slow and the table by the servers station was cramped. For the coeliacs: There were so many things which could easily have been gluten free but they kept saying there might be cross contamination, which we all know could be a range from : 'it's cooked in the same place as bread' to 'the spices are in a packet that says 'made in a facility that has gluten' ' (this is the issue with the curry apparently, how is a Michelin restaurant not grinding their own..?). They were completely unable to properly explain the extent of the issue, meaning I could not make any informed choice for myself and daughters) The only thing I would say I their favour is that the little food I could eat was delicious, so if you don't have allergies, happy days I guess.

I visited this restaurant last year in the same month, and unfortunately, my recent experience was extremely disappointing. The service has declined significantly compared to before, and it no longer meets the standards of a fine dining. The quality of the food has noticeably deteriorated—it lacked the flavor and finesse I remember from my previous visit. The waitstaff failed to serve the dishes properly, and the overall presentation did not match the level of professionalism expected. To make matters worse, I had a confirmed reservation for December 21st. However, when I arrived, I was shocked to find that my reservation had been canceled without any prior notice. I ended up waiting for 30 minutes before being accommodated, which completely ruined the evening. This will definitely be my last visit to this restaurant. It is unfortunate to see such a decline in both service and quality.

I had high expectations for a 1 Michelin star restaurant, but this was really disappointing. I was with two friends and we ordered the amaya menu and my friend also ordered the wine pairing. It always came too late and they didn't tell us anything besides what it was and which country it came from, in the end they always forgot to give her a new pairing. We didn't get new clean plates until we asked. The food was really very tasty. New flavors and beautifully presented. Money quality wise it wasn't worth the £55.

Had the pleasure of dining here for lunch and must say the experience was indeed sublime. Reading the reviews I was a bit skeptical and had minimum expectations. Yet, the food totally knocked it out of the park. Got the lunch platter with an addition of Biryani; the paneer, fish and chicken were expertly cooked and cut like butter, and the veggie kebab was just perfect! The dal was typical with simple flavours and I expected more. The assorted chutneys were something I hadn't tried before and really enjoyed each of the offerings. Every detail on the plate was well cared for and delivered meticulously. The chicken biryani could have probably used more seasoning. Still the rice and the chicken blended well and had good flavours. Felt like I could have skipped this dish as it wasn't anything new...but overall, I left satisfied, and can say they certainly deserve their Michelin star!

Food ok but massively underpriced and a lot of dishes dry. “Chilli paneer” was more like a very dry mushy paneer tikka. Arrived for a 2.45pm booking only to be told kitchen closes at 3pm Happy to pay a premium price for excellent food but £8 for a coke is ridiculous no matter where it’s being served. Furniture extremely dated, looked more like second hand office furniture creating a very poor ambience, middle of our food they started operating a loud drill in the kitchen which again spoiled the ambience. No music (only started toward the end) loud drill, poor decor, average dry food. They also had flies Wouldn’t not come back

Cocktails at the beginning of the meal were great. Wine selection, across the board, is too limited for a Michelin star restaurant. And what you get is far too expensive for the quality. I had the German Riesling for 80 pounds (second most expensive wine on the list) and that’s a bottle that in terms of quality should have a retail price of no more than 15 pounds (my guess). You should really get advice from a good sommelier and fix the wine selection problem. Food and service were outstanding.

Tucked away in the upscale enclave of Belgravia, Amaya Grill and Bar redefines the Indian dining experience with a modern twist. The restaurant’s sleek, art gallery-like interior sets the stage for a culinary journey that transcends traditional expectations. Amaya’s menu is a testament to the art of grilling, featuring dishes prepared on the tawa, tandoor, and sigri grills. This approach allows for a symphony of flavors and textures, with each dish arriving as it’s ready, encouraging a shared dining experience. The smoked chili lamb chops are a standout, offering a perfect balance of heat and tenderness that lingers on the palate. Vegetarian options are equally impressive, showcasing the kitchen’s versatility and commitment to quality. No volveremos tristemente.

Not what we expected. On entering, the place looked decent but the food was not up to mark and very pricey. £230 for 2 adults and a child where we ordered 2 starters and 2 main dishes, 2 mock tails and one cocktail. My mocktail, passion fruit and guava was out of a carton. The main food, the gravy was just added to the prawns. It just felt that it was not cooked together. Also, when they changed the cutlery after the starters, they just put it on top of food which had dropped on the table. Don’t think that is Michelin star standard.

The food, service, and atmosphere were top notch. Our waiter Rapul was very tentative and helpful when it came to choosing the dishes.

Loved every single course on the tasting of Amaya menu. Really solid taste and surprise in every bite. We had reservation on Tuesday 10/8 at 730p, but unfortunately had a bad server. Our server was aloof, cold and wouldn't explain any of the dishes in each course. When we got the spices and sauces, we asked her what they were and she gave us such a naughty look like we were such idiots. We later asked if they could clean the table full of the spices and she never acknowledged or cleaned the table full of debris. We didn't request anything additional or demand anything other than just a service required and details about the dishes but unfortunately she treated us like we were lesser than. Very unfortunate because the dishes were so tasty and one of the best fusion Indian dishes we've ever had both on the state or UK side.

Nice place, good ambience. Excellent service, lovely gracious wait staff. There was a boo-boo with the starter, which they rectified (free starter and desserts). They also graciously provided a spectacular chocolate dessert for a birthday. Excellent: crispy noodle salad, salmon tikka, pepper chicken tikka. Mango daiquiri, Fig martini, chilli passion fruit martini, lamb chops. Good: Gilafi kabab, navratan kebab, gulab jamun and the jalebi dessert (the salted caramel icecream was sensational) I would say portion sizes are good, unlike some comments. Most Michelin places provide a little spiel about each dish, which was missing. They usually provide some amouche bouche etc, again Anaya does not.

Overall great food, service, and ambience. I was a bit disappointed by their pistachio kulfi.

This shouldn’t be surprising reading all the reviews complaining about service. They practically were forcing us to get appetizers saying that the main dishes will take 35 minutes to be ready. We said no worries we will wait, then they called the manager to convince us again to get appetizers. Such sketchy and pathetic move by management. Anyway, that was unacceptable from a high end restaurant so we literally got up and left. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you want to be pissed off then absolutely go. Rude rude i wouldnt recommend.

Consistently excellent nouvelle Indian restaurant. Went twice in one week, can go again as we have been going for at least 15 years.

Amaya left much to be desired. While the food was passable, the high price point and small portions felt disproportionate. Service was notably slow and inattentive. Our anniversary went completely unnoticed, and the staff seemed uninterested in providing any additional information or recommendations. Overall, the experience was underwhelming.

Considering it's indian food, no real vegetarian options and those it did have were all just potatoes. Service was very slow, inconsistent. Cocktails were overpriced for what was a weak standard cocktail

One of the best Indian Restaurant in London or probably outside India. We ordered Veg Lunch platters with Veg Jackfruit Biryani and it was amazing. The chutneys on the side had very nice taste and you could feel every element in it. The paneer Tikka and Spinach tikki melted in the mouth. Broccoli salad, Raita, Roti and Dal were also flavorful. Jackfruit Biryani was probably not the best but still decent. Overall it wasn’t hot and spicy but flavorful

Out of this world. Hands down, the best, not just Indian, but any fine dining restaurant I’ve been to. Service was impeccable and at scale. Waiter throughly explained the menu & dishes, and multiple waiters quickly cleaned & reset the table after each dish. The place has a nice open kitchen feel, but I wish the decor & ambience was more Indian. Food was simply fantastic. The meat dishes were flavorful and melt in your mouth. Presentation & taste are both phenomenal, and overall this was the best experience I’ve had.

Great food. We got the lunch platter and eggplant. Eggplant was delicious. Some nice dill underneath and crunch on top. Sea bass was another highlight. Paneer the texture was good but the flavor was rather boring. Gulab jaman was soft, warm, and spongy. The ice cream wasn't too sweet. I wish they hadn't put the silver on it, I don't like how fancy restaurants do that. Didn't even like how that part looked. Service was nice and attentive. Good about avoiding our allergies.

We’ve been visiting this outstanding place for the past 17 years, and it has been consistently exceptional. The service is fantastic - every little detail is meticulously attended to. The food is heavenly and is incredibly enjoyable. The restaurant itself is cosy with a wonderful ambiance. The quality of everything never disappoints. We absolutely loved our night and want to thank the team for yet another great experience!

Okay tasting food (I tried beyti only, not very good not very bad but way too much tomato sauce in my opinion) The best thing about this place was the ambiance. It was nicely decorated with interesting photos from Turkey.

Ate here with my other half recently for a special occasion meal. For a starter and main each, shared dessert, half bottle of wine, two bottles of sparkling water and service, the bill was £550. Now, the service was excellent, and the food of the highest quality, and I get that hotel restaurants in London are going to be “expensive plus” but this wasn’t a £550 meal. It was a high £200s meal. Even with hotel overheads I can’t figure out where the extra £250-or-so came from. All this is immaterial because if you’re going to eat at the Connaught Grill you don’t care what I think. You’ll have an excellent meal but you won’t get value for money.
