The food and service easily earned its star…which is not always the case with Michelin ratings. The scallops and sea bass were standouts with subtle but complicated flavors that made my mouth very happy. My server (I’m embarrassed that I can’t remember his name but he’s Italian) was also exceptional. He explained everything and even let me taste two additional chutneys when I expressed interest. I will request him when I return for the tasting menu. Thank you!

Loved every single course on the tasting of Amaya menu. Really solid taste and surprise in every bite. We had reservation on Tuesday 10/8 at 730p, but unfortunately had a bad server. Our server was aloof, cold and wouldn't explain any of the dishes in each course. When we got the spices and sauces, we asked her what they were and she gave us such a naughty look like we were such idiots. We later asked if they could clean the table full of the spices and she never acknowledged or cleaned the table full of debris. We didn't request anything additional or demand anything other than just a service required and details about the dishes but unfortunately she treated us like we were lesser than. Very unfortunate because the dishes were so tasty and one of the best fusion Indian dishes we've ever had both on the state or UK side.

This shouldn’t be surprising reading all the reviews complaining about service. They practically were forcing us to get appetizers saying that the main dishes will take 35 minutes to be ready. We said no worries we will wait, then they called the manager to convince us again to get appetizers. Such sketchy and pathetic move by management. Anyway, that was unacceptable from a high end restaurant so we literally got up and left. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you want to be pissed off then absolutely go. Rude rude i wouldnt recommend.

One of the best Indian Restaurant in London or probably outside India. We ordered Veg Lunch platters with Veg Jackfruit Biryani and it was amazing. The chutneys on the side had very nice taste and you could feel every element in it. The paneer Tikka and Spinach tikki melted in the mouth. Broccoli salad, Raita, Roti and Dal were also flavorful. Jackfruit Biryani was probably not the best but still decent. Overall it wasn’t hot and spicy but flavorful

Out of this world. Hands down, the best, not just Indian, but any fine dining restaurant I’ve been to. Service was impeccable and at scale. Waiter throughly explained the menu & dishes, and multiple waiters quickly cleaned & reset the table after each dish. The place has a nice open kitchen feel, but I wish the decor & ambience was more Indian. Food was simply fantastic. The meat dishes were flavorful and melt in your mouth. Presentation & taste are both phenomenal, and overall this was the best experience I’ve had.

Great food. We got the lunch platter and eggplant. Eggplant was delicious. Some nice dill underneath and crunch on top. Sea bass was another highlight. Paneer the texture was good but the flavor was rather boring. Gulab jaman was soft, warm, and spongy. The ice cream wasn't too sweet. I wish they hadn't put the silver on it, I don't like how fancy restaurants do that. Didn't even like how that part looked. Service was nice and attentive. Good about avoiding our allergies.

This was probably the best restaurant we went to. I would not hesitate to give 5 star rating on the food and service. The waiters provided brief explanation to each dish as they came and they tasted amazing. The service and the food was extraordinary. If it's your first visit you should go for the taster set menu. It's expensive but your are paying for the fine dinning experience. I am definitely visiting Amaya again. They take orders as late as 10pm! I would recommend you pre book to avoid waiting. One minor improvement would on the atmosphere; to have some Indian or other background music to go with the themes in the main dinning area. But this did not matter so much as the food was so delicious.

Such a disappointment. The food was ok but let down enormously by the terrible service. We chose the tasting menu with wine pairing. The option for the dessert unfortunately wasn’t something my husband could eat due to allergies, so they offered a sorbet as an alternative. A sad little sorbet? For a Michelin starred restaurant? Are you having a laugh? And to make matters worse they obliged both of us to have it because of their “sharing concept”. We had our lonely little sorbet and then the final wine pairing arrived 15 minutes later. At this point we were ready to leave, tired from the noisy kitchen and bustling floor. When we asked the manager to remove the cost of the final wine (given we didn’t get a chance to drink it with dessert), he basically told us it was our fault it came out late because we’d chosen the alternative dessert. We’ve had better experiences at a much more reasonable price at our local curry houses. Don’t bother visiting.

I was doubtful if Indian cuisine could be elevated to Michelin standards, but was very pleasantly surprised. We had the tasting menu, which exhibited a light touch, good textural variations and super flavours. The salad was excellent, the oyster and scallop dishes' flavours could both be differentiated whilst served with curry like sauces. The lamb was succulent and tender. The Biriani was possibly the least favourite. The service started attentively but did drop off, and we were waiting about 30mins and had to attract attention for our dessert course. All in all a great experience, would revisit. Very reasonable pricing as well.

After 10 days having received no email I called them and they told me the same thing but after a month still no news. Once we arrived the receptionist behaved disrespectfuly with us and she made a face and attitude that they don't have table and we have to wait minimum an hour and she denied our call however I have shown the phone number and the time of the call. I had a guest from abroad so I have decided to take them to the bar in the meantime and get a drink and snacks. The bartender denied to serve us even a few olives and/or any other snacks in a rude manner. We ordered drink and my friend had a low blood pressure and they refused to also give her a bit of even nuts/chips.. Don't waste your money and time with Amaya. The food was tasty, although the flavours could have been a little more balanced for a 1-star dining experience (the chaat was a little over-flavoured, while the aubergine biryani as a main course lacked prominence). The portions were very generous, we shared a tasting menu and three extra plates for a party of two. What bothered us was that we did not get two courses from the set menu, and when asked about this, the staff were rather indifferent. They even came back twice to ask if we were sure that we had not been served. They eventually brought them out, but never apologised or offered any compensation. Quite a disappointing response given that a 15% service charge is included is expected.

What happened to Michelin ? If you are looking for a decent restaurant, you can go to Amaya. If you are looking for an indian restaurant, you can go to Amaya. And, if you are looking for a Michelin star restaurant DON'T go to Amaya. There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING of a Michelin Star restaurant in this place. The food is lambda, the products are average, the service is in like any pizzeria, ths wine list is more that scarse. Amaya gives you nothing of what you can expect in a Michelin restaurant. Menu is in 3 courses, no amuse bouche, no petits fours, no mignardises, you have to pay for rice (in a michelin star restaurant, come on ...) and naan. You can cook yourself most of the dishes (really, I'm not kidding) and if has no creativity, no "special touch", nothing. Again, I ate properly, but I was expecting a Michelin star restaurant, because the bill, is definitely a Michelin star restaurant bill, 330 £ for 2, without wine. On thje pictures, one duck dish is missing with 4 slices of duck, but this is what you get for 330 £. I have no clue what drug took the MIchelin inspector when he came here honestly, but it must have been a hell of a strong one ...

We then complained, the manager reassured that we will not be charged for the bill to only then be charged onto my card the very next day! The director was SO rude to me on the phone he tried to justify it saying the mouse wasn’t found running around in the kitchen therefore my concerns weren’t a big issue..?! I’m confused and distraught by this.. Do not dine here a rat was found Yesterday evening, on the blessed day of Eid, myself and my two sisters went for Dinner at Amaya Grill and Bar. Let me start by saying our waiter and the manager were very polite and understanding, and didn’t take wrong in this situation. The food was decent, but we had an uncomfortable situation of seeing a Rat in the restaurant. We felt very uncomfortable, and it put us off our meal, we had informed the manager with what happened, and she offered to right off the bill, and compensate us for our unfortunate experience, which we saw as a gesture of good will. Less than 24 hours later, my sister’s card was billed £200+ by the restaurant, keep in mind this was the card attached for the reservation, not a card presented at the restaurant nor agreed to be used or charged for the bill. Out of confusion to the fact we were told we won’t be charged, my sister then called to understand the situation, she was called back by a man called Preman Mohan, the So called ‘director’ of this restaurant. He calls and starts by saying what’s the issue? He’s called and started with this, my sisters explained the situation, explained that the manager came to a conclusion, not an agreement, a conclusion that it’s only right we are able to end our experience without paying due to the fact of what happened. Mr Mohan kept continuously speaking in a manner of threat, he continuously cut my sister off as she spoke then said a few statements to my sister: ‘You’re putting words into my managers mouth’ ‘You didn’t give her an option’ ‘It wasn’t a Rat, it was a mouse’ ‘It wasn’t in the kitchen, it was only in the seating area’ ‘What restaurant have you been to before and expected to have free food?’ ‘I’ll take the service charge off, but the food is being payed for’ ‘The money will come out the managers pocket, do you really want that for her’ The complete immaturity of this so called director, this man who’s called in the manner he did. He didn’t stop there, he’s then decided he’s going to bring up my sisters record of other restaurants.. never have I heard of this being appropriate or being done in a situation like this. 3+ years ago we were offered a free meal by another restaurant as they didn’t ask for allergies when taking orders, our friend had an allergic reaction to the point ambulance was called to the restaurant to take her from there, to where the restaurant offered the meal on the house as it was a situation to literally my friend could’ve had it to the worse, without knowing a situation he brought this up, saying my sister is an individual who goes to restaurants and continuously tries this, again, this is the director speaking like this, you would think a man of experience, sorry, a boy of experience would speak with more professionalism, but he thought let me do what I do best, and be a stubborn, lying, unprofessional director and take matters into my own hands. HES THEN SAID HE WILL BLACKLIST US FROM THE RESTAURANT FOR THIS? surely as a business owner, you want to make amends, you want to understand the situation, he’s blacklisted us as if we are a problem and threat, his staff literally offered the meal, not us, what can we do, when you decide you want to charge without calling or understanding. This google review isn’t the only thing we’ll be doing, mark my words. We didn’t even complain further as everything else was okay, we simple kept the situation within the restaurant of the rat and uncomfortable circumstances but Preman decided he’ll take matters into his own hands, without a call to understand, without asking which card to bill, without asking is it ok to bill? A so called Michelin starred restaurant with a director like this? What a plumb, to speak to a woman like this aswell, would’ve preferred if he called me in to speak face to face in his pest filled restaurant. Preman, well done for putting your rat starred, sorry, Michelin starred restaurant into the mud. Kudos to you sir x and thank you for ruining our Eid!

It’s been years since I last went to Amaya and while I’m not a fan of traditional north Indian fayre, which is generally pretty unimpressive in the UK, Amaya is outstanding and impressive. The preparation and presentation is beyond compare and the flavours are nothing short of divine. If I have one criticism, I found the crockery (square glass plates) slightly out of keeping with a Michelin star restaurant - what’s wrong with plain white china or even modern ‘thaalis’ (traditional Indian dishes). The service could also be slicker but overall a memorable experience

The food was very tasty but the portion sizes were not at all value for money. One of our party was still hungry after dinner!

I have been coming to Amaya for many years now. The quality of food is fast deteriorating. We had Brocolli with yogurt and another yogurt preparation. Seems like someone is trying to conjure up a dish on the hoof just to save money. Is Amaya running out of ideas? There used be a complimentary sweet dish, that seems to have gone but I still paid £55 for each of us. So, clearly not value for money anymore. The fish and the chicken were lovely as always but seemed like a drop in the ocean of disappointment. Sad, to see the slow disintegration of Amaya the iconic restaurant of yester years, where I used to feel pride in bringing my guests.

I was very luck to be treated to lunch here last Friday, it is INSANE! The chicken we had was so soft, and the flavours out of this world. The staff are extremely diligent and won’t even let you purr your own water. This has got to be one of my most fave places to eat.

I really enjoyed the concept of tapas food. There are plenty of vegetarian options and the waiters are knowledgeable about the food and menu. The atmosphere is lovely and you can see some of the fresh produce they utilize; the place was very busy for a thursday evening but not too loud. I think this is a great place for families, friends or colleagues to dine. The only thing to consider for their restaurant policy is they do not permit takeaway for example when we could not finish our main course. This left a slight feeling of discontent as the food is wasted and we have also paid for a full dish we could not complete. I think in view of a big move towards sustainability, the restaurant needs to consider offering a takeaway service for left overs (with sustainable packaging) even if it comes at a small additional cost.

Went there with colleagues after a hectic day for a dinner . We were a group of 10 people. Lovely ambience, courteous staff . Amazing collection of drinks. We like their early arrivals dishes (starters) on the menu more than the currys. Overall great food with quality service.

Way more innovative in dishes than Gymkhana, we had a the tasting menu which was delicious. Cocktails were lovely. Chicken mari tikka was the best, would definitely return! It was my birthday and I love gulaab jamun so they added that on also!

Amaya is an Indian restaurant with a difference. The food is well presented and very tasty. Service exemplary and whilst a bit pricy it’s worth it.

Very rude receptionist. Took minutes to tell me whether there was a table or not and when she finally told me i booked it. She hanged without asking the name

I am traveling solo and was coming into the city to see a play. I stopped in and asked for a table for one, and a place where I could charge my phone if possible. I was given both with no problem at all. The service was amazing - very attentive - and the food was delicious. I got the three-course Theatre Set Dinner and the appetizer was delicious (some kind of ham and mozarella balls), the steak was very good, but the dessert was possibly the best chocolate volcano cake I've ever had. It came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on a bed of graham cracker crumbs and several dollops of raspberry sauce and a sprig of mint. It was fantastic. I'd love to eat there again next time I'm in the city.

We had the platter for 2. Great food, tasty, the meat was hot and cooked to perfection. Lovely art work around the restaurant, lovely staff, good service and vibrant, light atmosphere.

Amazing restaurant. Dot. We’ve been to a Sunday lunch looking for a Sunday Roast and we’ve been caught by surprise with the service and meat quality.
