Amarone Italian Restaurant in New Forest

We went here on one of our date nights, we are checking out the restaurants in the local area having just moved to ringwood, this restaurant seemed to be the one with least people in and that was for a reason. We were greater and sat down ordered a drink each. All ok. I went to order a main lasagne to be told it’s not available but was not told this before. We had a goats cheese and beetroot salad type thing to start - this was literally beetroot from a can with a slab of goats cheese on top and some spinach.. it was ok but not the best We also ordered garlic bread- considering this is an Italian I would expect more than 2 slices of tiger bread cut in half and some garlic butter on it… The main courses were not good at all, we couldn’t eat them.. both pasta dishes. No one asked us how our meals were, even though we asked for the bill with plates for. It was clear it’s a struggling restaurant so we paid in full. The pizzas maybe better as there was another table in there who seemed happy

From many delivery orders. - carbonara is often all cream, only once did it not. - fries overcooked 30% of the time - garlic bread is 2 slices of over cooked white bread toast with butter on. - expensive delivery charge - expensive bottles of coke

After checking out the good reviews of this restaurant, we thought we would give it a try with high expectations. The waitress seemed like she really didn't want to be there, and the food was below average. To be honest, we could have had a better pizza from a supermarket. The calzone was very soggy, and the spicy pizza was rock solid with burnt-to-a-crisp pepperonis. No sauces were offered with the fries, and we had to ask for more drinks.

Came here for dinner with my husband, been wanting to try this restaurant for a while so was really looking forward to it. It was Tuesday night, pretty quiet inside the restaurant, nice music, surroundings, nice layout. Was greeted and orders taken quickly, the starters and drinks came out pretty quick which was well received. Our starters were very nice, mushroom bruschetta and a tomato bruschetta, both were very tasty. Main meals were pizza (we are huge pizza fans) but unfortunately the pizza was let down by the dough, which was very dense almost bread like, It had no bounce in it - could it of been a gluten free base?! we are not sure, but it was a let down. It tasted okay with lots of generous toppings, but unfortunately it wasn’t a great pizza. Following on we ordered a lemon cheesecake to share. It was okay, looked nicer on the plate than it tasted.

We pre-ordered 5 pizzas for collection at 5.30pm. When we arrived at Amarone, the lights were off and it looked shut. We pushed the door open and walked into the darkness, at the back of the restaurant we were greeted by the chef and a waitress. We stated our pre order to which we were told they hadn’t started it and it would take 15minutes. We waited 20mins for the pizza, we took it back to our holiday home, and upon opening it , we saw what I can only described as anaemic pizza. We had to turn the oven on to fully cook it. Poor quality of ingredients, and bland tasting would be the best way of describing this pizza. I would save your money and buy some oven pizza from a supermarket, as it would cost less and taste better. In our humble opinion, I would avoid this place for a takeaway, and ignore the ‘brilliant reviews’ as they clearly have the taste pallets of 5 year old children.

Such a gorgeous little restaurant, fantastic pizza, lovely service. It's beautifully decorated. Easy parking just around the corner. We would definitely go back when we're next in Ringwood.

My friend and I have been staying in the New Forest. We visited this restaurant and had such a good meal we returned for a second time. Food is excellent and freshly cooked. Lovely staff. Highly recommended.

I had dinner for two today. We had some appetizers, calamari and bruschette, i had a dish of spaghetti alla puttanesca and my girlfriend had a pizza with rucola, prosciutto and parmigiano shavings. The service was good, the place was clean and the ambience was chilled, romantic, with good music. Unfortunately the food didn't pass the test for me. The calamari looked anaemic, they were not very tasty; the bruschette were too soft in the middle; the spaghetti had some problems; the pizza was nice but you could sense that the dough was heavy. I asked for some bread to mop the pasta sauce (scarpetta) and they served me with triangles of sliced bread (the toast kind). The espresso at the end had the consistency of residual coffee/water. We paid 67£, 33 something each (with the house white). The price/quality ratio it's not the best . I'm sure they can do some dishes very well but this time they didn't pass the test, sorry.

They say the enjoyment of food is deigned in three fold manner. The anticipation, the eating, and the memory. Thus, it is with great thanks to genuine human people of love at Amarone, i was lucky enough to eat here. Whilst the faithful gentleman in charge of the premises is saintly in his love, his lady wife, so devoted, and divinely beautiful, is a cadence of song in the Heavens for genuine beauty. Together, they make am incredible pair. So clearly dosed in love, vision, and desire to make the world a better place. In which they do. Via the conduit of pizza and pasta. And long may their merry souls reside here... with their ingenious lighting.

Incredibly friendly, I ordered food to my truck as I had no food with me on an unexpected night out. It was a huge inconvenience to the restaurant, but it was delivered with a smile even though the gent had to go 12 miles out the way. Thank you again

Having recently moved to the area we discovered this restaurant by chance & we were not disappointed. We particularly liked the quaint surroundings & pleasant atmosphere. The staff were very friendly & knowledgable. There is a good choice on the menu of which our party had both pizza & pasta. All our dishes were tasty & well presented. Would thoroughly recommend and we will most certainly be visiting again

We ordered pizzas late on a Monday evening and they were fantastic.

Ordered at 7pm for delivery, which got accepted by the restaurant. The website states approx 45 mins for delivery. We called at 8.10pm and were told it would be another 25 minutes and that they were down 2 members of staff. Tried to ring again at 8.50pm as the food had still not been delivered, no answer on any phones. We finally had the food delivered at 9pm. It was all over powered with garlic, not hot and the pizza that we ordered was not correct. We thought we would try and support a smaller business but wish we had not. Unfortunately we will not be returning customers.

Excellent Authentic Italian with Friendly Professional Service. Lived in Milan for a while and this would not be out of place there. it’s quite a small menu but the food we had was excellent. Very surprised that Ringwood has two excellent authentic Italian Restaurants, this and Lovitaly which is just up the road.

We had a take away delivered to the premier inn in Ringwood. The service was prompt, food was hot and delicious. The tiramisu and profiteroles were amazing.

I phoned Amarone to ask if they opened on a lunchtime and Dino the owner replied yes if there was 4 or more people. Well there was 6 of us. So we were there for 1pm and from that moment on the service was impeccable . As far as the food was concerned it was the best ever that everyone had tasted. Anna and Tori gave us first class customer service. We will definitely go back to Ringwood in Hampshire to have the best all round food In Amarone. Could not recommend this adorable restaurant enough. As soon as we walked in we were met with prompt service and a friendly smile. The décor and atmosphere inside is very authentic and feels like you are in a restaurant in Italy. For a winter evening it was warm and inviting inside which made it such a comfortable experience. Sublime food cooked from scratch and you can taste the difference. The spaghetti carbonara was delicious and portion was generous. The red wine went down very well. The staff were really friendly and had some fantastic conversations and laughs which you would not get in a chain restaurant. Highly recommend and looking forward to our next visit :)

Ordered meatballs with tagliatelle. Only three meatballs cut in half to look like more! The tagliatelle was way overcooked and flaccid and the tomato sauce watery and flavourless. Very poor. Service was slow but that wouldn't matter if the food had been worth the wait. Nicely decorated restaurant, pleasant atmosphere.

We have just last evening enjoyed yet another delicious meal at Amarone. We cannot fault the warm welcome, excellent service and fabulous food! We cannot disagree more strongly with the negative review left recently. We have already reserved our table for our next visit - this is a lovely gem of a place in Ringwood. You must visit soon!

Disappointing! Vety very slow service!. Food was mediocre. Ran out of spaghetti carbonara by 8pm on a Sat night. Cook then came out offered us ham instead of bacon. OK, we'll, take that. !! Then we got linguine carbonara. Mediocre to say the least. Italian restaurant with No Spaghetti. What??? Ask for cheese on our soup. Waitress looked surprised. Then brought out grated cheddar?? Like what?? who brings out cheddar in an Italian. Come on, Amarone, you can do better. We were offered complimentary liquors for our Disappointing meal. No wonder they were 3/4 empty. Prezzo was full. And I don't rate Prezzo. They need 1. Update decor. 2. Better service 3. Food available on menu+buy some parmesan cheeses please. 3. Better lighting 4. Italian music 5. Improve atmosphere Then they'll be full with bookings.

Was just a few minutes walk from Airbnb where we were staying overnight. Thursday evening was not busy. Excellent and varied menu, plenty to choose from. Lovely meal..they do a great risotto. Friendly staff, although as it was quiet they did tend to disappear and we had to wait a while to get attention. Would definitely come back again

We visited on a Friday evening. There was a very warm and friendly welcome. The atmosphere was quiet and pleasant surroundings. We had a starter and a main course which were both very appetising and flavoursome. Very much enjoyed the food and the experience.

The staff are amazing, very friendlybut still give you space to enjoy your meal. The food is always beautifully cooked and well presented. We try to eat in this restaurant at least once a month and have never had a bad meal. If you haven't been there do try them out you won't be disappointed

Amarone has been a favourite of mine since living in Ringwood. Recently both a friend of mine and my family visited. Each time the food has been delicious. Its a wonderful family run business. The portion sizes are fab! With a great selection on the menu for both food and wines. Service has also been great. Will be coming back for more soon. Thanks once again Amarone.

Over priced , starter nice , main was poor version of a very simple, staple Italian dish. Shame really.

Wonderful food. The staff were very attentive and we got free limoncello at the end of the meal. My risotto al mare was particularly nice.

Here with mates for a meal to mark the end of a cycling trip - 7 without a booking. Nothing was too much trouble for the service team, great cooking of a wide ranging menu, excellent value wine list. on a Saturday night it should be busier. Recommend a visit

Would recommend. Relaxed atmosphere. We had to wait a while to order and then for the food to arrive, so don't expect a fast service, but when it did arrive, the food was fresh and delicious, so we didn't mind having to wait. The staff were apologetic and brought garlic bread for us for free while we waited. Mixed Veg was delicious and is highly recommended. We also had Penne Arrabiata and Pollo Milanese. Good sized portions too so we didn't mind paying a bit more than we'd expected. The decor is a bit old fashioned but full of character. The toilets are on the 1st floor so not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. There is parking nearby and it was easy to find. An enjoyable evening.

Our family party of eight including children enjoyed a lovely meal at this very welcoming and friendly restaurant. The food was delicious and service exceptional. Would thoroughly recommend and will be visiting again.

Went to this restaurant this evening it was my daughters 3rd birthday and was absolutely beautiful food can’t fault it as really enjoyed it well done to this restaurant every member of our party of 7 couldn’t fault at all

I've ordered a takeaway of Nona Starte and main meal of Pollo milanese with Spaghetti. The pollo milanese was hard and very dry and absolutely tasteless, Spaghetti and the Nona Starter was tasteless also. This is supposed to be a Italian restaurant bursting with gorgeous flavours. However this is not the case with this restaurant, I've eaten a bit of the food because I was very hungry, had to add extra flavours to it to got down better. The majority of the food went to the rubbish. What a waste of 29 pounds!!!! I WONT ORDER FROM THIS RESTAURANT EVER AGAIN 🤮

Yum Yum! What lovely food! So much we had to take it home could not let it go to waste it was sooooooo yummy! All home cooked even the pasta. We had Soup, Olives and Lasagne and owners gave us a pizza which was ordered in error, that was soooo good too, so tasty and cooked to perfection. Atmosphere was good and staff polite and friendly and service good. Looking forward to our next visit. Try it you will not be disappointed.

We’ve only tried a take away pizza from here before about a year ago and it was delicious! Lovely warm welcome by the staff too. Decided to try Amarone for dinner last night and well it just was such a dire atmosphere. Food took so long to arrive and there were only 3 tables with customers dining. The food was just ok and my steak Rossini was over cooked. Waited so long for it we couldn’t be bothered to send it back. When we asked a lady for the bill she said it was cash only? I said why was this not mentioned before we sat down? Another chap who worked there came to our table and we asked again if they would accept a credit card because the waitress told us it was cash only? He replied that we can pay by credit card and that the card machine was used for takeaway orders? Very strange that after questioning about paying by cash only that we could now pay by credit card. Perhaps they just wanted to keep the cash! We told our taxi driver about the restaurant and how we would not be going back there again. He said he’s heard many bad reviews from his customers about Amarone and he believes that they are closing down. If this is so, it still would had been nice to had carried on with decent customer service and apologies for the food arriving so late, taking our orders very late, asking how was your meal etc. Hope it will be a decent restaurant replacing Amarone if they are closing down.

The place is lovely. Delicious meals plus friendliness of the stuff makes it my favourite 🥰 Highly recommended

I live locally and like to eat locally if I go out. I’ve been to Amarone a few times. It’s always been nice. Good value and good food. Tonight was different. I asked the chef to cook something for me. Whatever he wanted. I had soup as a starter and chicken as a main, with pasta and a sauce. I can only describe the soup as life changing! It was probably the tastiest soup I have ever had the pleasure of devouring! Seriously! I asked the chef for the recipe but I don’t think I could do it justice. The chicken was delicious. The sauce had just the right amount of chilli to give it a bite but not overpower the dish. I’ll be back again and again but I may not be able to get a table soon. I hope that is the case as this home cooked, non-franchise restaurant deserves to thrive! Thankyou Amarone!

Went to this restaurant for a quick early dinner. The service was very welcoming and friendly. When our starter arrived (Bruschetta) it was clearly just made and really fresh and tasty. My husband had a seafood dish with pasta - it was really good. He is allergic to garlic so has to be carefully but the kitchen made every effort to ensure he liked his dish and it was really tasty. I had the veal which was equally great. We were too full for a sweet but were offered complimentary liquors with our coffees. All i all a Very Enjoyable reasonable meal.

We rolled up at just after 5pm Wed. Just passing through on our way home to Weymouth after a day of driving. Other restaurants we tried in Ringwood didn’t open to 6pm:fortunately for Us Amarone did! We found a chef managing the place while the owners are away, who had not been well-briefed. That became evident when he had to make a call to someone to find out where the fusebox was to get the stair light on for us to access the toilet. Then another call to find out where the thermostat was in order to get the heating on. Despite the inconveniences, he served our drinks, brought water and soon after the three meals we had ordered arrived. The lasagnes and pastas were delicious. He even took time to cater for the 93 year friend we had with us, even though other customers had arrived and needed his attention. A young man had arrived to assist him and served our meals but all credit goes to the chef. Thank you. Sheena and Rick Potter and Jean our neighbour. PS I had lived in the area previously and frequented this restaurant often. It was wonderful to return. Thank you.

I will (somewhat) set aside the poor spelling on this menu (see 1 example in pic) So I got around to booking a table; we all ordered different starters; and from that moment we were hopeful. The starters were very well presented, and I tried everyone’s, each as delicious as the next. Now I would like to point out I spent sometime in Italy, and worked my way through all that had to offer at a handful of restaurants. I could not fault any of it! Big thanks to Centro Labs (Roma), (for putting up with my bad Italian) Anyway; the starters were great; and I longed for the main, however they were mediocre at best, carbonara watery; the meatballs and pasta ok… nothing special (had way better at the ‘meatball stoppe, Florida USA). So on to dessert… what can I say, what started so well finished on a low. The lemon cheesecake, not a hint of lemon; not one! Decoratively covered in (on sight) shop bought sauce, strawberry ( no idea why), back to the cheesecake, so bland it was horrid, texture nice; no favour in any way! Tiramisu good. All in all started great, starters amazing; down hill from there on out. Will revisit, in hope.

Las Saturday night great experience at Amarone in ringwood with my family , was greated at the door on arrival by charismatic owner ,the food was delicious ,steak was cooked to perfection ,wine was great ,perfect tiramisu ,strongly recommend definitely I'll take my family there again, thank you.to Amarone's stuff, keep up the great food you provide ,Bella

Came for dinner on the day of the carnival,the restaurant was a little busy with a table of 11 coming in not long after us that didn't affect the service it was 5 star and food was great,the pizzas were amazing Will be returning

All we wanted was a simple, well cooked meal, nothing fancy. We ordered a rissoto and a pizza, plus a couple of drinks.

The staff were lovely and friendly, the food was perfect and they even gave us a complimentary shot of Baileys after our meal. Lovely lovely place couldn't recommend more. As restaurant at Premier Inn closed we booked for 8 people. Warm welcome, drinks served quickly and given time to peruse the menu order taken in a timely fashion. All plates cleared of food both starters and main courses, which says it all Wine replenished...

Beautiful food and very nice décor. Very nice family run restaurant and I would say very underrated place to eat and drink in the town of Ringwood. Highly recommend and will be going back.

This restaurant was a one time favourite. We loved going there. However, visited recently and it has changed for the worst. Not authentic Italian fare. Grossly over priced. Better to visit the Gastro Pub aisle at M&S or buy Charlie Bigham fare. Costs much less...

Scheduled an order for the afternoon, then when it didn't turn up I checked and saw they had cancelled the order. Ordered again and was given an eta of 25-30 mins being as I was only up the road from them aswell I thought they'd be fairly quick, after waiting for 45mins I called up to ask where the food was and they said 2mins away, another 20mins and food had arrived. Only order 3 pizzas, they arrived extremely greasy and not worth the wait at all. Do not recommend.

This is my second bad takeaway from this restaurant, I gave them the benefit of the doubt the first time and really wish I didn’t! Ordered both lasagna and spaghetti bolognese, both tasted absolutely overwhelmingly of VINEGAR! We had to throw it away, I’ve really never had an Italian like it. It was a very strange ingredient to include, and at such overwhelmingly copious amounts, it really spoiled the dishes.

Brilliant! Went on a quiet Sunday evening, and the calamari and mushrooms starters we shared were excellent, as were the pizzas for mains. Staff excellent, can't fault anything!!!

Just ordered £45 worth of grub got a small portion of everything not even worth £20, all the food was cold and very appalling customer service when on the phone, will never recommend this place as it is quite frankly disgraceful. If I could give it 0 stars it’d be -5. Absolutely poor

Myself and my family went last night on our first night of holiday, we really found a hidden gem. We were warmly welcomed and had the most exquisite Italian food I have ever tasted. Will definitely be returning and will remember the food and experience for many years to come.
