Amalfi Bistro in Chelmsford

Just had an incredible meal at Amalfi. Fantastic cooking, superb ingredients. Total wow factor! Service was brilliant. Can't praise them enough.

I can never get enough of Amalfi Bistro! It is consistently fabulous with perfectly cooked fresh and tasty food combined with super service. I really cannot rate highly enough!

Ottimo! I booked last minute on a Saturday - which can be a risky thing to do. As a consequence, we had the privilege of being sat in the little tables next to the kitchen. Tremendous authentic top quality real Italian food. Andrea and his staff were delightful company and balanced professionalism, managing a very busy kitchen, with friendly interaction. I learned about Italian cuisine and digestifs - welcoming, not patronising. Overall a highlight and a tour de force in proper intimate Italian cooking. Bravo. Forza. Grazie. See you again soon.

Fantastic meal last night ate at the old location but now moved in to Chelmsford centre and Im sure it will become the go to place.Authentic Italien food cooked fresh by Andrea and what food had cuttlefish starter superb as was the whole meal.Great staff friendly and laid back makes for a great evening highly reccomended.

An honest review of our experience- firstly we did not realise that when we booked we would be sat " in the shop", if we had been told this then maybe we wouldn't have been so disappointed when we arrived. That said, the owner was aware and did offer to seat us upstairs in the restaurant when a table became available- as our table was an 8.30pm booking we decided to just stay put as didn't want to wait too long before eating. The food was authentic and filling and in my opinion some of the best Italian I have had outside Italy! The service was okay, I'm allowing for improvement as it has only recently opened, not all staff were dressed appropriately, with hair down etc . The dessert although lovely, was served in a plastic container which we felt was not a good look. The owner offered a complimentary limoncello which is always lovely at the end of the meal and we would definitely return!

Fabulous little restaurant. Intimate and relaxed . Great selection of choice. One chef who is the owner cooks everything fresh. Friendly staff. The food was delicious. Would hesitate to reccomend and cannot wait to return! Thankyou Amalfi!

What a sublime experience! The most amazingly fresh and tasty food and wonderfully warm service made for a perfect dining experience. It was great to see our food so lovingly prepared during the evening. Delighted to know that the restaurant is relocating to the centre of Chelmsford - it should be a huge hit!

I was really looking forward to visiting this establishment. Not the easiest place to find and parking situation was not good, having to get a ticket to put in your car and then have to return it when you left was cumbersome. The food that I had was good and reasonably priced although there was no veg with my dish. The dessert of tiramisu being served in a plastic pot was not appealing. Did not feel welcomed at all and that the party that I had brought were nothing but an annoyance to the owner.

We’ve been now to this restaurant several times and it’s one of our favourites in Chelmsford. Don’t come if you want something fancy, over priced and pretentious, but do come if you want an informal and relaxed setting with fresh, authentic and really tasty food. We go with our younger children and they love the chicken in lemon cream sauce. No pizza but plenty of pasta and seafood dishes and there are always specials. A well priced range of wines. Really want this kind of independent place to succeed, as getting fed up of all the boring chains in Chelmsford.

Excellent, authentic Italian cuisine. Don't be put off by the industrial estate setting, you wouldn't know when inside. The interior is fairly basic, but if you come for the food, you won't be disappointed. Service is friendly and efficient.
