Lovely English and desi breakfast. Paratha was a little too oily so would recommend use of less oil/butter.

Food was delicious, very tasty, maybe slightly underwhelming when it came to the spice level, but overall very nice and flavourful. Atmosphere is nice, and the service was okay, but the price is quite expensive for a local "curry house".

Recently ate here for a wedding and I can’t wait to come back for a dinner out ! The staff were lovely and the owner is such a great gentleman! Attentive and really shows thought and care. Food is great! Absolutely none got left ! Recommend for a lunch or dinner out or any special occasion. We had a marvellous time & they made it even better. Everywhere kept super clean too

Up in Derby on business and so glad we found this place to eat. The food is incredibly tasty. The chicken bhuna was very well seasoned and the lamb chop starters were cooked perfectly. Only regret is we should have booked our stay at the hotel it is a part of rather than staying at Premier Inn.

Had a fantastic time. The staff was very accommodating and happy to help us organise the room to our liking. Even though there were 6 of us, the food came quickly and tasted amazing! I came here for a friends Gender reveal and we hosted it in the private area. The staff were amazing, they allowed us to come in early to set up and offered help as it was quiet. The room was clean and elegant and communication beforehand was clear. The food was really nice, we got a few curries, biryani and a mix of naan, it came out in good time and all warm. i would recommend the lamb karahi and butter chicken!! The service was really nice and friendly. i would definitely recommend booking for private parties or evening dinner for special occasions.

We had the most incredible meal at Amad’s on Monday. We started of with a basket of poppadoms and chutneys, before moving onto our starters. I opted for the dynamite prawns and my goodness was I not left disappointed, I’m sure you can see from the pictures I’ve left, just how Incredible these looked, and they tasted even better. My dad went for the aloo tiki potato cakes where were beautifully garnished. Moving onto our mains, I couldn’t decided what I wanted, so I let our server decided, I had the Newabi chicken which was tomatoey, garlicky and spiced to perfection, my dad went for the tandoori chicken. We had pilau rice, stunning naans to accompany them. We will definitely be returning, I haven’t stopped thinking about those prawns since the visit. The service was top notch, the staff were lovely and the food is incredibly good value.

Checked in to the continental hotel this evening with my partner. After dropping the luggage to the room we headed down stairs to get some a drink and a bite to eat after a long day travelling. We were pleasantly surprised being massive curry lovers to find it was a curry restaurant, the Amad restaurant was amazing, the food was AMAZING, the decor was great, the staff was friendly and the cleanliness was tip top. Perfect start to the holiday!

Well I think I’ve found my new favourite restaurant! The food was simply the best! I had the lamb chop starter which was so tender with a lamb shank for main, again just fell off the bone with just the right amount of spice! Our waiter Majid was very courteous and had a lovely gentle nature to him. Would definitely and will definitely recommend this restaurant to our family and friends! Sad that I’ve not discovered this place sooner!

Amazing food, so many choices and all cooked beautifully. I had the paneer makhani; massive chunks of paneer with a sweet, tangy sauce. Lovely calm atmosphere & well presented decor. The staff are great, Majid was our server and was really helpful and friendly. Fantastic mocktails too: I had a mango mule ♡

Was invited by a friend for dinner party. Mr khan, the head waiter, probably the rudest and one of the most ill mannered waiter ever served starters and mains in the same plate, barked at the guests and literally spoilt the whole experience. Never setting foot inside again. Skip if you can.

Terrible experience, terrible service, they don't clean their tables, it took them 47 minutes to serve me tap water, was told they are running out of glasses and jugs, I had wait while other patrons finished off I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE

Subsequently, the food was delicious and our server was attentive, friendly and fulfilled all of our requests and requirements! However, we sat in a window seat, in which we could see the Street and unfortunately we witnessed an incident which was not very pleasant, especially as there was children in the restaurant- consequently, this is not the restaurants fault however, the area wasn’t very pleasant for a family!

First time come and had desi breakfast. Absolutely spot on. Food, service and place 5 star. Will definitely come again.

Not our first time here we have dined in & ordered takeaway & as usual the food is great! We had a good mix this time of different things with my daughter having pizza whilst we had curry & the mixed grill, it was all lovely and good portion sizes. There was a little confusion over the 50% off offer as we believed we had to be in & order before 6.30pm but you have to have completed your meal by 6.30pm. It wasn’t a problem as we were happy to pay the full price but is worth knowing if you are going for the offer. We will definitely be going or ordering again.

Had the most shameful aftari we ever had in our life time. We heard a lot about the Resturant and thought we take our special guest for aftari in this resturant as it was a new fine dinning in Derby. But let me tell you don’t fall for the nice lay out it’s deceiving. There was only 3 tables and three member of staff and the service we got was worst ever. Three member of staff can’t even handle three tables. We were given starters with no salad and sauces then we raised the issue with the staff after 15 mins he came back. The starters were cold and as well as food. We didn’t even had our starter yet and the staff bought food out we told them we still having starters. To which I asked him Are you sure you fine dining? To which staff sarcastically smiled and said in £17 you get this what else you want and then the left plates and food on table for us to sort it out and no one cleared the table or any thing. If we had to sort out the food ourself then why we need to come to fine dining. It was so embarrassing in front of guest we wish would have taken them to Anokhi Viceroy or Shalimar instead. We also asked him we not got our welcome drinks either as stated on your social media and he replied it’s finished in rude way. If you are the owner and reading this trust me you need good staff or if you don’t believe me then send some of your family undercover and you know yourself.

I am writing to provide feedback on my recent dining experience at Amad Restaurant in Derby. My friend and I travelled from Nottingham to partake in the Iftar Dinner, eagerly anticipating a delightful culinary experience. However, upon arrival, we encountered a series of disappointments that I feel compelled to share. Upon our arrival, we found no one at the reception to receive us, leading to a brief but noticeable wait. Eventually, we sought assistance from the hotel reception, where a gentleman kindly escorted us to the restaurant and arranged for service. Despite this, there was a prolonged delay before any attention was given to our table. When the first dish arrived, comprising of only two dates and three small onion pakoras, it was underwhelming. Subsequent servings of two kebabs, two tikka boti, and two fish pakoras were equally lacking in quantity and presentation. Notably, we had to request water, which was not offered proactively. The main course, when it finally arrived after a considerable wait, fell short in both portion size and temperature. While the plates were adequately heated, the quality of the food and accompanying naans left much to be desired. Unfortunately, the level of customer service provided was subpar and sluggish. Despite the presence of empty tables and a modest crowd of only 18 diners, there appeared to be a shortage of staff. Mr. Sagar, the sole waiter, valiantly attempted to manage both the dining area and reception, but his efforts were hindered by inadequate support and supervision. It is disheartening to report that the supervisor, Mr. Maqsood Khan, seemed oblivious to basic customer service standards, a deficiency that greatly impacted our dining experience. Notably, a particular incident where a customer was left to fetch water for themselves, while holding the jug, tarnished the restaurant's image further. While the ambiance and decor of Amad Restaurant were commendable, they were overshadowed by the poor quality of food and lackluster customer service. Regrettably, I must express my dissatisfaction with this experience and cannot, in good conscience, recommend Amad Restaurant to others.

Excellent food, one of the best Indians in Derby. Chicken tikka superb and Rana Gosht & Chicken Madras hot was spot on. Reasonably priced, will definitely return.

We have been coming to Amad shortly after it opened and it has always been an excellent experience. The food is absolutely brilliant and the service is second to none. We have been to most Indian/Pakistani restaurants in Derby and this is one of the best. Without doubt now this is our favourite restaurant by miles.

This is what they serve on deliveries. I ordered one nan and two curries. How could i eat this burnt and hard like a stone naan. I just waste my time and money. Really disappointed. Highly not recommend.

I've been here for breakfast a few times and have always found it to be a pleasant experience. The desi breakfast is delicious and the channa and halwa are amazing. We have tried the english breakfast and that's nice as well. The Staff are pleasant and efficient. The place is very clean, very nice and the toilets are spotless too.
