I had my retirement do here, over 40 people and the staff were absolutely amazing, they allowed my partner to go in and decorate it beforehand, the food was amazing, thank you for making my do memorable

Went in early and we're the only ones there. But my king prawn dopiaza was excellent

We booked as a group for 9pm on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was really well presented and very clean and we were offered a booth for six. The service was prompt and very efficient. The food was terrific and everyone enjoyed the meal. A really good experience in central Derby and will definitely return when next in town.

By far the best Indian restaurant in Derby Food is really fantastic, The staff is excellent. Well worth a visit. Not to be missed. Been going there for years.

Loved it staff were polite - the food very very good. The Seekh kebab was probably one of the best ive tried. The garlic achari gets special mention as well - keep up the great work - well worth a trip here

Had a take away ordering the chicken tikka dopiaza (first problem was the chicken was plain not tikka) the keema nann had no keema but doner meat and the Naga curry was like a plain curry, not very spicy and lacking flavour. Very disappointed.

Worst behaviour by the manager, where he asked us to get out of the restaurant for pointing out his mistake. It is just a scam restaurant, please save your money. Please don’t be paying £14 for 3-4 table spoons of biryani which the disgusting manager says could be eaten by one person but in reality even a small kid’s stomach wouldn’t be filled up. I’d rate this restaurant negative for falsely portraying Indian food. The quantity provided and the service by the staff is appalling. He is literally making money by scamming non-Indians, trust me you’ll get way absolute delicious food and good customer service at other Indian restaurants in Derby. Worst, disgusting and what not totally

10 of us went in for a work get together. Service and food were absolutely spot on. We ended up having the early bird deal which is a bargain - the starter selections were great. Nothing was too much to ask. We stayed over 2 hours and had a really good evening.

Had a takeaway from here tonight for the first time. The food was excellent, I had a chicken lazeeza - nice spicy curry with the sweetness of mango, had a real kick to it. Also had 2 samosas which were very well made and had lots of filling. My wife had a banner pathia which she says was very good. Normally as a vegetarian she steers clear of paneer as it can be rubbery but she found it perfect this time. Delivery was quick, under half an hour, lady who delivered it was very pleasant and obviously wanted us to enjoy our food, whi h we did! Will definitely be ordering again.

Had a lovely meal out with friends for my birthday! Food was served promptly and so were drinks etc, Food was fresh, hot and tasty! Overall the price was competitive and a nice round of shots on the house afterwards was a nice touch! No hesitation in recommending and will happily go back!

Terrible! Given chicken instead of lamb to a person with chicken allergy! Rude staff who tried to deny their set menu listed which curry you'd get. Tried to charge me extra at the door Used to come here all the time but definitely will not be going back again.

Anyone who enjoys a bit of heat will thoroughly enjoy the Jal Jhool. We're not from Derby but we're so glad that we came here as we were introduced to new and unique specials and at a very reasonable price. The awards in their cabinet are truly deserved

Asked for without onions which theybsais they could do. ( i have crohns disease and get severe pains if I eat onions ) I repeated no onions at least five times and at every point in the order when it was read back to me. Guess what…curry was full of onions and had to go in the bin.

After a blistering 2 nil victory over the mighty Exeter City, we head in to town for a curry. Fabulous popodum and probably the best mint yoghurt I have had. Meat starters very tasty. Both karachi hot and spicy as requested with beautiful rice. The naan bread though, my word. So light and tasty. Even the Cobra beer was good, often not seen or substituted at some houses. Bravo and see you again soon!

I visited Masala on a night out with my friend, as it had been recommended to me. I was not disappointed. Looking at the menu, we were spoilt for choice. We had the early bird menu, which was £16.99 for four courses, wow what a bargain. The quality of the food along with the taste and presentation was the best. The atmosphere was relaxing, the staff were so friendly and nothing seemed too much trouble. I can highly recommend Masala for a great meal out.

Tandoori Chicken Masala is my favourite Indian Dish ever and while I'm originally from Derby, I live in the USA now and that particular dish is impossible to come by. While on vacation in Derby I made it my mission to eat this dish a couple of times. I ordered from Masala based on reviews and they offered it on the menu. Picked it up in about 20 minutes, parking is difficult based on their location, I parked on Curzon St and put my hazards on, lo and behold I got a ticket parking there for just 2 minutes while I picked up my food. Be careful there is an On-The-Buses Blakey wannabe just sitting in wait for people to park up. Unfortunately when I got home and ate I was disappointed. The curry was bland and I've had better from non dedicated Indian Restaurants ( 3 Chefs ) and the Keema Naan was equally bland with minimal meat. Not bad, but not great.

Found this place based on google reviews and it was the best thing about Derby. I’ve had Indian food in many a country and this was one of the best by far. Iqbal was very pleasant and accommodating. Food was very nice and not expensive saying its in the city centre and there is a taxi station right next door for easy excess home. We had a lovely evening and definitely be going again. Not much to say. Just very bad food. Ordered through uber eats. Bhuna was gross. Korma was gross. Chips and naan was good but probably the worst Indian takeaway I've ordered from. Curries were awful quality

So, been here a few times now and honestly it's one of the best Indian restaurants I have been to in recent years. I have tried a few dishes and a few different starters and all have been good. Well cooked, fresh tasting, flavour packed and the curries are a very decent portion size too. The place seems to do a lot of takeaways and I haven't seen many people in when we visit so the atmosphere and service are not quite worthy of 5 stars. But if you just want good food, at pretty reasonable prices the this place is definitely worth a visit.

Ordered a set meal you could tell everything was reheated as impossible to cook fresh and deliver in thirty minutes popadoms smelt musty nan bread stale curry boiling hot until you bit into meat and that was cold ie microwaved rice all congealed defo not fresh That disgusted can’t be bothered to call to complain as reading reviews after they don’t care but have saved food in the fridge in case of us been ill tomorrow to pass on to environmental health department the last time I ignored scores on the door three star should be less from this food

Had a wonderful time with my friends for my birthday. The food was cooked to perfection, meat cooked well and so tender. Garlic and cheese naan was to die for so succulent and full of cheese. Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous curry from here. Lovely place to dine out. I thought my curry was exceptional. Well worth a visit to help small businesses like these survive!
