Alpino in Wiltshire

More cafe than restaurant with 16 covers from 1900. Olives and risotto were tasteless. I felt sorry for the lady serving who did her best to lift the atmosphere but ended up clearing tables at 2100.

We had an extremely pleasant Valentine's Day meal here. Visiting a town you don't know you never know what a place is going to be like, but we wanted something that was authentic and not a "big chain" experience. This place fitted the bill. The food and service was exceptional and as it was Valentine's they had tried to make the night a special memorable night with heart balloons, red roses and complimentary fizz on arrival. Their efforts were appreciated. Recommended!

My friend and I had lunch lovely garlic bread cannelloni tiramisu. Great service value and atmosphere. Would go again very cosy restaurant bedt in Salisbury.

Alpinos should not do deliveroo. The food was cold, soggy and tasteless. I was actually happy that the portions were stingy.

Good location and fast service but the pizzas we ordered were only average and the atmosphere was very dull.

So disappointed always loved alpinos,but pizza stone cold,spaghetti carbonate was made with penne pasta NOT spaghetti. Prawns so small and the ceasar salad not made with iceberg lettuce.

Thank you to the waiter/chef who cooked my meal without garlic, white wine, fresh tomatoes or double cream. Unfortunately I no longer can digest these foods easily. Fantastic to find a place that freshly cooks to your digestive needs. Molto gracia il mio amico.

Came here last week with a couple of friends who recommended it. Service was amazing and attentive and everything is really reasonably priced. I love Italian food a lot, but that was one of the best pizzas I’ve ever eaten. Food came quickly and the decor is excellent.

Not the best not worth the money.Food was cold . Prawn too salty and garlicky, penne basic and average. Sauce not that special taste like a shop bought bottled one.

Bit scruffy lots of stairs typical Italian food pizza pizza and more pizza oh and garlic bread! No parking.

Zero to no mozzarella in the Calzone, also very watery when cutting into it. Garlic Pizza had no cheese on and was like a shop bought. Meatballs again could have been shop bought in a dolmio sauce. Will not be returning, 1st and last.

Excellent Christmas party they catered for everyone even those that were vegan and celiac.

Nice place to eat, easy wheelchair access and disabled toilets, great burgers and fries but unfortunately no hot drinks served here, a bit expensive but you are paying city prices, worth a visit.

Food was practically cold when it arrived.

Amazing place, we all love going there it's a real special treat, the food is delicious!! My son who is ADHD and Autistic and struggles with food loves it here and is so welcomed! Can't wait for our next meal here!

We were excited to try this and were disappointed when we arrived that there was no way for my mother to enter the place because it requires going up and down a full staircase. I wish it had been written somewhere more obvious on their website that this place isn't accessible so we didn't have to take my mother all the way there to find out. Luckily a burger joint across the street was open and accessible.

This is such a hidden gem and should be used by more people. Food and service excellent but no atmosphere as no people. Give it a try and boost the numbers.

Visited here after Salisbury Fair with my family. The staff were friendly & accommodating with my fussy 3 year old, who loved her pasta! My eldest daughter & I really enjoyed the flavour of the Al Pinos pasta dish. My husband was also very pleased with his pizza. Thank you for a lovely evening. I have visited this Italian restaurant on multiple occasions & they never disappoint me. See you again soon 🙂

Superb service, and quality food. I've dined all over the world and can happily say this was a quality restaurant with 1st class service. We enjoyed the atmosphere, don't let the scaffolding outside put you off!

I've given this place 5 stars, just because my boyfriend said the calzone was the nicest calzone he has had in his life. My food was amazing, and the family who own/run it couldn't do enough for us. The wine was reasonably priced, and the menu had something for everyone. There is a view of a lake and snow capped mountains painted on one whole wall but I never took a picture of this. All of the decor was so cute and I'll definitely be back.

Food was delivered on time by a very polite driver!! At least something positive to say- food was unfortunately not worth mentioning.

Fabulous Italian food. Wonderful school friends reunion, so plenty of room and good service. It is up a flight of stairs, so maybe hard for some people to access the restaurant.

For the amount we paid, the portion size was tiny. Sorry to leave this here but very disappointed. The delivery was on time.

A lovely, welcoming, friendly place. Excellent food and a lovely smell of true Italian food on entry. The food really was excellent - one of the very best veal dishes ever. This was a perfect place to catch up with a dear family member and chat, be made welcome. We stayed so long and just had a super time. Would definitely go again next time in Salisbury

We really enjoyed our evening in Alpinos. It’s a lovely friendly restuarant, with a great atmosphere. The food was very reasonable and delicious. As it was my birthday I received a complementary drink which was very nice indeed. We will definitely be back when we visit Salisbury again. The restaurant is tucked away and from the outside you could easily miss it! Defo worth a visit.

Had the most amazing meal here tonight the staff were so polite & friendly. The food was the best Italian I have had I just wish we lived nearer so could come more often. The only thing that marred the experience was a table of 8 very loud women that ate they food with gusto & then when it came to pay tried every trick in the book to get a freeby. Calling the waitress rude & unprofessional amongst over things. She handled them with tact & was very calm. I’m pleased to say they had to pay for their meals Would highly recommend a visit to this restaurant you will not be disappointed

Almost walked straight past, but then looked at the menu and someone was coming out and said the food was excellent. So went in, and yes the food was excellent. There's not lots on the menu, but it means what they do, they do very well. And the staff are very good and great to have a chat to.

The place is nice, first time we visited, however very poor value for money. 2 drinks 2 starters and 2 mains £52. Don't think so. Gave feedback to the hostess on the size of the main (csnneloni) and got argued with. Not good

Its the first time I've been here for a very long time and the service is still amazing, very kind friendly lady on the bar who served me my take away spaghetti carbonara. I would usually eat in but have recently had a tooth extraction and haven't been able to eat much so I decided to get some pasta to eat at home and it was absolutely delicious, I was also told about the lunch time menu and how they could possibly host my baby shower so I will be back in touch very soon! Thank you for your kindness on collection and outstanding food.

Have had dinner and lunch here many times. The service is friendly, food delicious and prices very reasonable. Wish there were more people in every time I’ve gone. As a few others have said, we should support our wonderful local independent restaurants (and businesses). I’d recommend and will be visiting again soon.

Fabulous experience. Went there for our wedding anniversary this weekend. Food amazing, service impeccable and attention to detail exceptional. We’ve been here many times in the past and it saddened us tonight to see it so quiet. It shouldn’t be. And we certainly won’t be leaving it as long next time. Our food was gorgeous and portion size perfect. Support your local independent businesses and get yourself to Alpino’s. It should be bustling and deserves to be. Great authentic Italian Restaurant in the centre of town. At street level it's just a doorway - once inside, you go up two flights of stairs to get to the first floor restaurant. (So might not be an easy choice for those of impaired mobility.) Nice range of pasta and pizze, and an à la carte menu as well. Good value set meals at lunchtime and in the evening. We had the two course lunch at £12.90 (June 2019) with a glass of wine included - very pleasant it was too. Friendly and efficient service - this place is definitely worth a try in preference to the Zizzi and Prezzo type of chain restaurants you see in every town in Britain.

The portions are the perfect size and very reasonably priced, especially the pasta dishes. The service was also second to none - my grandmother is 80 and struggles a bit, and every effort was made to discreetly accommodate her. Well worth a visit!

I went to dinner for the first time the day before yesterday, Saturday 15 June and I really had a great time. We were only three people at that time having dinner, so I took the opportunity to have a nice chat with Mr. Franco while I waited for the dishes. Very approachable and helpful and very good food. Very friendly staff, but food was burnt. Shame as we felt very welcome in there.

We visited for dinner to celebrate a friend’s birthday and we had mixed opinions. The service is lovely and so welcoming (they were very nice about us bringing some cake to have at the end of the meal and they helped with lighting the candles and singing happy birthday which is very kind) but our order was taken way after other people who had arrived after us and we were served our starters an hour and fifteen minutes after we arrived which (for a hungry group of 6 people) is a long time to wait. Mains came promptly after the starters but that long a wait already affects the way you feel about the experience. The food was very nice but the portions are small for what you pay so I’m not sure we’ll be back soon sadly (despite having enjoyed the food!).
