The vibes were really good. The best burgers we have ever eaten, however, the fries weren’t the best. We didn’t like that they were a mixture of normal and sweet potatoes but that is personal preference. We were also there for a birthday, which was stated on the booking, however this was not acknowledged. The soft drinks are also absolutely huge which is a bonus! The service was also very nice and didn’t feel rushed, nor was it too slow!

Food was great, chicken burger main was delicious - cooked well, seasoned well and not dry. Wings were flavoursome, if potentially on the small side. All in all, enjoyed my visit and would recommend. Great value.

Burger was delicious, but overpriced in my opinion. Fries were extra, had they been included it would have been more price friendly. One burger said 'waffle fries' so we expected a portion, not 1 or 2 hidden under the bun! The burgers and fries were delicious, and at a restaurant more local to us, we would have had the same meal plus coffee and dessert for probably not much more money.

We've been there yesterday. Was a very quiet evening. Expensive burgers for what they offer. The burgers were really small and served without fries. That means you need to get fries on the side whick cost you more money. The mixed fries (fries & sweet potato fries) with bacon was nice.

Absolutely fantastic. Amazing menu. Fantastic atsmophere. Come plenty hungry and you will be satisfied. Good value too. It is something different, but I was happily suprised.

Ordered takeout tonight, never tried this place before so wasn't sure what to expect. Food was AMAZING. Fries were well seasoned and nice and crispy, buffalo chicken burger was perfectly sized with the perfect amount of fillings and sauce. The food wasn't greasy either which i liked!! They even threw in a little bag of haribo for me, so immediate bonus points there!! I did have to wait around 45 minutes but I understand from having worked in the food industry myself that Fridays and weekends are busiest for these places, so I didn't mind! It was absolutely worth it and I absolutely will be ordering again <3

Came when it opened on Sunday. Food wasn’t fresh, dry burgers not what it used to be. Pizza fries soggy uncooked pepperoni. Wouldn’t bother going the food tasted like it was straight out of the freezer which it probably was. Then got forced to add a service charge, NEVER EVER coming back and will not recommend. 5 guys next time.

I visited on 05/04/2024. Although this restaurant doesn’t have a vegan menu, they have options on the menu that could be made vegan. I ordered the vegan snicker milkshake, vegan chicken wings and vegan loaded bacon fries. The milkshake was amazing. However, these are the ‘chicken wings’! They’re quite clearly, chunks of This Isn’t frozen chicken pieces, deep fried. They weren’t even seasoned with salt and pepper. They were rock hard, I couldn’t even bite one piece in half. Inside, they were burnt, any traces of chicken disintegrated. Most of the pieces were just pieces of batter without any chicken. Yet cost £7! The ‘loaded fries’ were just fries with a bit of bacon Mayo squirted on top - £6.25 for fries and sauce? Eh? Plus some of the fries were burnt. I approached the manager and explained the meal is inedible. Although we’d drank our drinks, she kindly let us have the whole meal for free. She was truly lovely and apologetic, really can’t fault the service, but unfortunately we won’t be back.

First visit very nice, burger and fries great. Only thing Almost famous beer would not get again but was not shocking. Shall be going again.

Food is absolutely gorgeous! Drinks slightly weak and chairs/table can be a tad uncomfortable. Service was amazing though, Liv was incredible.

I debated whether I should review or not as couldn't decide if the tastes are just not for me or it was a 2*. Ordered the liberty burger and wings, for me personally it was the wings that killed it, they were cooked well but felt like the marinade/sauce was soo soo salty and extremely sweet, way too overwhelming for me, palate was subdued by the wing assault so couldn't really taste the burger which really looked good so was kinda gutted. Personally I won't be back but if it's your cuppa tea, don't let this review put you off.

Found the waiting staff to be extremely rude but food was decent.

Food is great, but they didn’t give the student discount even though it said all day everyday on the website with no disclaimer about it not being on weekends. Also why do all the waitresses walk around chewing gum with their mouth open, can’t be the most hygienic? Overall though food was yum and decently priced so can’t complain.

The place is great and quirky with a unique take on burger resteraunt but.. The burgers we got, the "Blame it on the whiskey burger" and the butter blood and bleu" burger were not value for money. The burgers were very tasty but the bottom half of the bun which was soaked in grease and the whole thing felt thrown together. Both were not worth the £14.50 price tag, epecially when fries are not included. Great service but very overpriced for what you get. Save your money and go to Mc's.

I do love a good smash burger joint and this one is great, I love the theming of it, the playlist is awesome, the staff are really nice and friendly, and the food is great, did take about 25mins to get our food but on saturday and the quality of it, i’ll allow it, really loved the mac bites well worth it

Absolutely shocking today, went about 6 months ago and was spot on, totally different this time, chicken was pink and bbq sauce was way too overpowering and left a horrible taste, paid £42 for 2 cokes and took 30 mins to come. When we asked the the bill the waitress dropped cutlery all over are lass and stained her blazer and wasn’t bothered at all. Didn’t ask if anything was wrong with the food just took it away. Really not impressed at all and won’t be going back

The food was decent although £14.50 for a burger that wasn’t that big by itself no fries is abit much maybe I wasn’t paying attention but I don’t think it stated on the menu luckily I ordered an additional loaded fries for me and my partner to share which were nice the atmosphere was abit non existent the 1st waitress was nice but the last waitress seemed miserable when we payed the bill we usually tip but there was also a £4.80 service charge so we didn’t maybe that was why my partner said whilst did like the food she wouldn’t go back as taking everything into account it wasn’t value for money I myself would give it another chance as I now no what to expect and could improve my own experience

Popped in for quick burger at lunch time. Burger was a bit smaller than I expected but fry’s were really tasty. Very cheeky 10% service charge added. I was going to tip anyway but this is unusual for burger joint. Would I return, maybe for a quick take away.

The worst restaurant by far, I ordered a combo through Deliveroo and after two hours of waiting and non-existent customer service, I still haven't received my food. I can't even claim my money back because according to Deliveroo, I have to call the restaurant and they must agree to the cancellation. But guess what? When you call, it goes straight to voicemail. So my choice is to wait 3 hours for a burger or let them STEAL my money.

Visited here recently with my family. The food is great but the adults mains do come with fries so the burgers are a little pricey for that reason. On top of that an optional 10% service charge was added to the bill. This is a pet peeve of mine. I hate it when restaurants do this and I refuse to pay it on principle. Leaving a tip should be a matter of personal preference. The restaurants should not be trying to shame you into paying it ( I presume the ploy behind it is that people are too embarrassed to ask for it to be removed). I'm not. Additionally, although the food was really nice and we enjoyed it, I come back to the fact that you are paying around £20 for a burger and fries (albeit they come with separate toppings). Adding an extra 10% on just seems excessive. I also feel that if restaurants do this, they should make it clear what they do with this - do they keep it? Distribute to the staff? Use it to pay wages?

My favourite burger place in Leeds, especially for the loaded fries. Service is always warm and speedy. Appreciate their commitment to quality control too - their Phoenix Loaded Fries is supposed to be a good mix of sweet potato and normal fries, and that's one of the things that make it my favourite loaded fries in Leeds (as well as the toppings!), but today my order only had a few sweet potato fries, and when I pointed this out, they immediately remedied the issue, and then checked if I was satisfied (and yes I was!).

The pizza fries were way over cooked and it was like eating Doritos . The pizza fries were also way over priced. The chicken was okay though with terraki sauce . I will not be visiting this restaurant again.

Definately wouldn’t recommend the Leeds one if you want to try almost famous!! Very poor service, staff just didn’t care, giving out dirty looks, walking around with underwear pulled up to show off the “Calvin klien” banding and kept pulling them up through rather than pulling her trousers up, too busy chewing gum and flirting with customers. Food was mediocre, fries tasted burnt and then waited atleast 15 minutes for the bill after we asked for it. People next to us was vaping too and they didn’t get anything said to them, They also automatically add a service charge onto the receipt aswell which we did pay just to save the inconvenience or anymore dirty looks but definately won’t be back!

If you like a burger then it’s worth a visit. Relaxed dining, burgers are tasty. Maybe next time we’ll share the loaded fries!

Only chicken is halal and tastes delicious

New to the area, my fella found this place on Google Maps. It has amazing reviews, so off we went! We didn't book but could eat at the bar area. We still received the same service. The food came, and it was super hot and tasted amazing! Highly recommend this place, but book! Visited the toilets, and they looked like the walls could do with a wipe over. Water/drink marks all over.

First time visit to leeds, well in over 30 years and even though we didn't book we still managed to get a table. The place was full and lots of people still turning up for bookings, best to book. The food and service were brilliant, and the price was a shock 😲 so cheap 😁. Mac cheese balls were a close first place 😋

I hate leaving bad reviews but our experience last night has left a really bad taste in my mouth. We had a reservation for 7:30 and after a small delay our orders were taken, almost an hour later we didnt have any food and someone came over and told us that the kitchen had forgotten our order. We were told it would be 10 minutes for it to arrive but it took another 30 minutes to get our orders. The food itself was fine, but it wasn't particularly hot. We were given free drinks to apologise for the delay which we enjoyed, so we ordered another round afterwards and received only part of it so we chased up. Someone then came over and accused us of lying as they'd reviewed the CCTV and we had received our free drinks, when we explained that we'd ordered more that we were happy to pay for their attitude was just really poor. We ended up being the last people in the restaurant because of how delayed our food was which was no fault of our own but it was very clear they were trying to get us out as they abruptly turned the music off, turned the lights all the way up and were staring at us. A real shame as it seems like a restaurant we'd really enjoy but we won't be coming back. I will add that they offered us a discount which was appreciated but I don't think they handled the situation very well at all.

The burgers looked so promising and impressive on the menu but what we got on the the table had nothing to do with it. They were super small and not rich at all.

Always fantastic quality and service

Was absolutely loving my chicken burger, which arrived luke warm by deliveroo, until the end. There was something really hard on/in the chicken/coating that nearly broke my teeth. Luckily it was at the end and I was able to enjoy burger up to that point. Fries were good but also not hot.

We saw they were doing half price burgers for January so had to go. Glad we booked as it was obviously very busy. Staff were great, we were in and out within an hour, no messing out. Food came out quickly and everything we ordered was spot on. Definitely get the mac & cheese balls! 👌🏻 Only slight qualm was that everything could have been hotter. Plus paying to add salad onto your burger seemed a bit odd. There was only one burger that came with a ‘salad stack’ so you had to pay extra to add it to the others which I thought was a bit of a con. Usually salad comes as standard. But overall the experience was excellent. Good value for money with the promotion and generally quality food. Would definitely go back again.

Do yourself a favour and go to any of the other amazing burger places in Leeds. Food took over an hour, when it arrived it was stone cold. The burgers were dry and over-cooked. What made it worse was that the waiting staff did nothing to improve the experience - they never came over to apologise for the wait or update us on the situation with our food. Walk a few metres passed Almost Famous and go to Northern Market, or go to the Wardrobe for Slap & Pickle burgers.

Absolute rubbish, me and my son called in to take advantage of the 50% off offer!! Wow, more like 50% off the size of the burger, we left there feeling ripped off. Beware people, the offer isn’t as good as it seems.

Amazing burgers, great drink, top class friendly service, fries made from potatoes , a giant gorilla, and a table with sweets in it. We were very restrained, photos with the gorilla but the table remained unbroken and hence full of sweets.

Fantastic good at a very good price. It was hard to choose which burger to go for but I don't think you could go far wrong with any of them. The loaded fries are also very good, if you're not a big eater I'd recommend sharing one.

The burgers and food here are really nice, drinks are pricey but the food is good value and the bacon rain/mayo chips are recommended. I did think the toilet area was rather scruffy and needs some investment as it looks rather grubby.

Mostly you don't have to wait long for food but with half price burgers in January the waiting times were an hour for food. We pre booked a table to be sure as it was super busy when we arrived. The burgers are messy and the kitchen roll on the table is needed, but if you don't mind getting your hands messy then come get some amazing burgers! The pig and waffle fries are a favourite. Service is alright and the atmosphere is pretty good. I recommend the blame it on the whiskey burger and make sure you choose the canned drinks otherwise you're paying £4 for a watered down soft drink Will defo be going again!

Great burgers. A small selection of gluten free options here, excellent flavour. Menu says the chips are not GF due to being cooked with other menu items, but the staff assured me they were actually separate fryers so all good. Food was slow, we were given a discount, but worth the wait. Would like more alcohol free drinks options please (ciders).

The best burger I have had in a long time.

Disappointing. Have been before and it was great but not this time. Seen quickly by a very friendly front of house lady who said it would be 10 minutes for the table and it was. After that we were ignored despite newer arrivals being seen first and no server seeming to know what had been ordered by any table The toilets had no toilet roll or soap. Food- onions and frazzles were stale. The bill was for an entirely different table and the 20% advertised discount for blue light card was more like 16%. I didn't want to add a tip but it had already been added. We won't be back.

Came on a Thursday night at around eight but the restaurant was sill quite full. Would recommend a reservation if coming on weekends. The wait was quite long (~20min) but the burgers were nice and juicy! The winning fries are greatas well, loved the sweet potato fries. One of us ordered the wings but it was a bit dry. Not really much service going on but the 10% service charge is discretionary, overall a good experience!

What an expensive mistake this was, 13 pound odd for some sorry burger that looked like it’d been run over. doesn’t come with fries never again McDonald’s is better and it would cost you less than 2 quid.

Our order wasn't put through the system which led to a delay of 40+ minutes, but the staff took responsibility and sorted out the situation, turning an otherwise unpleasant experience around. The food itself was fabulous as always.

Sublime burgers and very reasonably priced lunch deal.

Waited 20 mins for someone to take our order , when he arrived he really really was not interested in being at work that evening. His attitude was well pretty awful. We waited a further 25 mins for the drinks to come. So this is 45 mins since walking through the door to get our drinks. At 1 hour since entering , ordering food etc (bear in mind this is a burger and fries) we managed to get a waitress’s attention and explained we’d been waiting an hour for our food and we were leaving She came back and said yes sorry it was a mistake in the kitchen. It’s our fault sorry . 15 mins later the burgers came. The burgers were very nice, well cooked. And the fries were delicious. However the size of the burgers and portions were a third of the size of the pictures on their social media outlets. We were expecting something much more substantial. But tasty none the less. We asked for a second round of drinks with the food and they took 20 mins , when the waiter brought them he said the manager had said we didn’t have to pay for our meal etc and they were sorry. So it’s only fair I include that in my review. So we didn’t pay. But at no point did we meet the manager or anything they never came to speak to us . The service was absolutely abysmal I’m afraid and the food no where near like the pictures. The first guy that served us was so rude and uninterested a member of my party actually said to him “is everything ok mate you seem really aggressive” he completely ignored us and gestured with his pen towards the menu for us to order ha ha. It was terrible. We won’t visit again. And we definitely won’t be recommending to anyone. It really takes the enjoyment out of your meal with shenanigans like this. Rubbish.

Very overpriced for what it is, much better places for this type of food in town. The fact you’re paying top dollar for fast food esque, low quality burgers and they don’t even come with chips / a side is really disappointing. Save your money and go elsewhere!

Decent bottomless brunch the cocktails were pretty good. It was busy so service was slow waiting 15/20mins for a refill so we only managed 5 drinks. Food was really nice and so much of it too we are stuffed!

Lovely place, party of 13 went, we had to wait a while for our food even though it had been pre-ordered. The burgers were delicious, I can't say the same for the chips/waffles. We all chose different, I chose the pizza waffle fries & they nearly broke my teeth they were that hard, not enjoyable at all, don't think any of us really liked any of the fries, but all enjoyed the burgers

Following our visit to Leeds university for their recent Open day we called into Almost Famous to see if the Burgers were as good as the reviews said. We weren’t disappointed! Well worth a visit and we didn’t have to book.

£35 bottomless brunch Omg, the food was lush and there was so much never have we left food before at a brunch. Good variety of cocktails the server was great and kept us going with drinks it was a busy Saturday so did expect it to be a bit slower but it wasn't. very good highly recommend xxx

Went for my sister's birthday as it was her choice of restaurant. She and everyone else loved it. The cocktails were class, enjoyed the little thematics on the cherry bomb. Staff were lovely and provided a warm service and extra surprise for the birthday 🥃

Visited a couple of weeks ago as a group of 4. Very slow service, friend was served the wrong burger, hidden charges for condiments, and a service charge was added to the bill without this even being mentioned on the menu. Really unscrupulous way of squeezing money from unsuspecting customers, especially when it's not mentioned on the menu. We asked the waitress to remove the service charge and bring us a new bill, but we shouldn't have to, this isn't America, if we want to tip then leave it to us to decide. Won't be back.

Food is great, the service charge is an annoying feature particularly as the service involves delivering the food from the kitchen and nothing much else. Took ages to get the bill and the tables are all dirty and did not see any being cleaned before the next customer sat.

Nothing spectacular and portion sizes not comparable to the price. It was fairly quiet for a Friday night which was surprising however that could be a reflection on the quality of food on offer. Not awful but not fantastic. If you fancy something quick and don't mind paying over £15 pound for just a burger ( sides were extra ) plus drinks then give it a go.

I wasn’t in the mood to eat out but really fancied a good burger and fries. We ordered a take away burger each and loaded fries each. We had a juicy double, a blame it on the whiskey, some pizza fries and phoenix fries. All a great choice and cannot recommend enough!

Wasn’t open at 12:45 on a Wednesday (opening times on website say 12-9pm) all lights off, chairs on tables and doors closed

Wow this place was amazing. From the good service to the food it was such a great visit. Our waitress sat us down quickly sorry I didn’t get her name but she had a friendly smile and brought our drinks with no worries. We orders from the lunch deal which was £10 for a choice of burger and fries. Between 12-4pm such a good deal You can pay £2 extra for sauce and crispy bacon bits on the fries which my boyfriend did. Our burgers where cooked to perfection. We also ordered bbq chicken wings and Mac and cheese balls oh my god the max and cheese balls were the best thing I’ve ever tasted. These also came with side dips plus I ordered the blue cheese sauce as an extra this too was so so good. Please try this place I’m sure you want be disappointed. Funky place loved the lolli pop table. And giant gorilla in the corner. If I’m ever in Leeds again I will definitely be coming back
