Almost Famous in Leeds

The food was awesome as always. Filling and delecious. In terms of service amelia and racheal were fantastic and welcoming. I would recommend Almost famous every single time it is a trully amazing place to eat

I'd like to thank almost famous - for 21 quid I will be fed for the entire Xmas period! Amazing cocktails, even better scran! Feel very full and satisfied after a superb meal!

Service was great and staff very polite. However the food was just ok - at a push. £11.50 for a burger that sounded amazing on the menu, but was mediocre at best. It was a cheap cheese burger and nothing more. Plus is was lukewarm. The fries with pulled pork were overly doused in bbq sauce and again barely warm. The worst bit for us was the awful, old plastic tray the fries came in. Absolutely awful. Really off putting. The fab reviews tempted me in but sadly I won't be going again.

Me and my partner came in for some food on Saturday night. Everything was delicious, drinks were delicious. Jack our server was an icon! Some of the best and most attentive service we’ve ever had! Thankyou jack for a lovely meal.

Came in last night and the food was amazing! I got the birria cartel and it was yum 😋 Service was great as usual too, thank you Jack! Will definitely be back soon

Excellent family lunch, burgers were juicy and tasty and staff were attentive and brought out extra sauces for us to try. Chips were a mix of normal fried and sweet potato which was great for us. Also got 20% off student discount

Elliott was Unreal as usual! Had the Birria Cartel and My girlfriend had the blame it on the whiskey and don't even get me start on the Mac n Cheese balls! Elliott was providing such great service! Will be back!!!!!!!!!

First time coming in here with my partner. Service was brilliant - there was a big group of us around 16. Polite and well mannered couldn’t fault it. Food was on point and portion sizes were excellent. Definitely recommend.

Fairly standard burger place with a few vegan options and the half and half fries/sweet potato fries were amazing.

Feeling hungry, my wife and I decided to try the burgers and fries. We ordered the Butter, Blood & Bleu burger, along with the Pig & Waffle fries. The burger was delicious and juicy. As for the Pig & Waffle fries, the pork was a bit too salty for my taste, but still flavorful overall. The staff were friendly, and the service was quick.

I have been to almost famous - Leeds, a handful of times and always enjoy the food and the atmosphere. However, today, I waited almost an hour for my food to arrive, and it never did. We had moved tables due to being seated next to a very noisy table of 10+ and asked to move, which was no bother and expected our food to follow. We asked a server how long our food would be past the 40 minute mark, she said she would see and never returned. We walked out. Really disappointed, probably won't return now.

Food very overpriced but nice enough. Wouldnt go again purely due to price considering it's a burger and chips and there are several better options all within 5 minutes of here. N.B. Another place who tries to spike you with a discretionary service charge as well for doing the bare minimum

It's just very meh, it's a burger and chips, completely forgettable and indistinguishable from any standard take away , for more money . Service charge was added, and not declared. The cocktail again, just forgettable, and more syrup than anything else it tasted like. I wouldn't be in a rush to go again, if ever

Generally poor all round. It took a15mins to get our drinks, then one was forgotten. Took 10 mins to bring it. It took 60 mins for food to arrive, and then a meal was missing, it then took 20 mins to arrive. Incorrect drinks brought to the table at the second order. Once we'd finally got the food, things were missing from the menu descriptions and was just all round average quality. Fair play to them for knocking the late food off the bill, and they were apologetic. Hence the 2 star,and not a 1.

Great food although a little pricey

Food was okay, but steep in price but nice. Quick service which was also a plus the reason for the low review is because after paying £12 a burger, and £7 for chips you get whacked with a 11% service charge??? I reject your Americanism and your service charge. So frustrating that a restaurant that has a good reputation feels they can get away with adding 10% for what? Nothing! Will not be returning

Love this place, so far never had a bad meal. Lunch time offers are cool and doesn't seem that badly priced for the portion size you get. Haven't left yet feeling like I should have gone somewhere else and staff have always been pretty sound. I've never been when it's busy though so couldn't tell you if service suffers or if the atmosphere gets too loud on a night.

Average food I’d say roundabout same as McDonald’s but triple the price, £12 for a double cheese burger without any chips is astronomical And don’t let the 10% service charge catch you which you pay for the waitress to bring your food to the table

Really good burgers. Phoenix one is faultless. Service is good. It's probably a little on the expensive side, with burgers about £12-£15 but fries are not included. The side options are great however, try the tots! One other thing, can the staff please ensure soap is filled in the toilets, both dispensers were empty at 730pm

We did the unlimited brunch omg amazing food and plenty. Service was excellent and the table we had fitted us all round perfectly. Definitely be back the burgers were tasty and a good choice of drinks on offer cocktails and lager choices. Staff regularly attended to the table and music in background to be low enough to have a good catch up and laugh

Visited for a wedding party. Food was great and everyone was friendly. Good selection of drinks but could do with a good cider on tap.

The vibes were really good. The best burgers we have ever eaten, however, the fries weren’t the best. We didn’t like that they were a mixture of normal and sweet potatoes but that is personal preference. We were also there for a birthday, which was stated on the booking, however this was not acknowledged. The soft drinks are also absolutely huge which is a bonus! The service was also very nice and didn’t feel rushed, nor was it too slow!

Delicious food. Wings maybe on the small side, but very tasty. Chicken burger for the main was superb, cooked really well. Reasonable prices too, big yes from me.

Food was great, chicken burger main was delicious - cooked well, seasoned well and not dry. Wings were flavoursome, if potentially on the small side. All in all, enjoyed my visit and would recommend. Great value.

Burger was delicious, but overpriced in my opinion. Fries were extra, had they been included it would have been more price friendly. One burger said 'waffle fries' so we expected a portion, not 1 or 2 hidden under the bun! The burgers and fries were delicious, and at a restaurant more local to us, we would have had the same meal plus coffee and dessert for probably not much more money.

We've been there yesterday. Was a very quiet evening. Expensive burgers for what they offer. The burgers were really small and served without fries. That means you need to get fries on the side whick cost you more money. The mixed fries (fries & sweet potato fries) with bacon was nice.

Absolutely fantastic. Amazing menu. Fantastic atsmophere. Come plenty hungry and you will be satisfied. Good value too. It is something different, but I was happily suprised.

One of the best burgers I've had, went for the bottomless brunch and could barely keep up with the drinks. Cherry bomb was my favourite cocktail!

Ordered takeout tonight, never tried this place before so wasn't sure what to expect. Food was AMAZING. Fries were well seasoned and nice and crispy, buffalo chicken burger was perfectly sized with the perfect amount of fillings and sauce. The food wasn't greasy either which i liked!! They even threw in a little bag of haribo for me, so immediate bonus points there!! I did have to wait around 45 minutes but I understand from having worked in the food industry myself that Fridays and weekends are busiest for these places, so I didn't mind! It was absolutely worth it and I absolutely will be ordering again <3

Came when it opened on Sunday. Food wasn’t fresh, dry burgers not what it used to be. Pizza fries soggy uncooked pepperoni. Wouldn’t bother going the food tasted like it was straight out of the freezer which it probably was. Then got forced to add a service charge, NEVER EVER coming back and will not recommend. 5 guys next time.

I visited on 05/04/2024. Although this restaurant doesn’t have a vegan menu, they have options on the menu that could be made vegan. I ordered the vegan snicker milkshake, vegan chicken wings and vegan loaded bacon fries. The milkshake was amazing. However, these are the ‘chicken wings’! They’re quite clearly, chunks of This Isn’t frozen chicken pieces, deep fried. They weren’t even seasoned with salt and pepper. They were rock hard, I couldn’t even bite one piece in half. Inside, they were burnt, any traces of chicken disintegrated. Most of the pieces were just pieces of batter without any chicken. Yet cost £7! The ‘loaded fries’ were just fries with a bit of bacon Mayo squirted on top - £6.25 for fries and sauce? Eh? Plus some of the fries were burnt. I approached the manager and explained the meal is inedible. Although we’d drank our drinks, she kindly let us have the whole meal for free. She was truly lovely and apologetic, really can’t fault the service, but unfortunately we won’t be back.

First visit very nice, burger and fries great. Only thing Almost famous beer would not get again but was not shocking. Shall be going again.

Went for bottomless brunch. Was really impressed with the food and alcohol. Liv looked after our table was extremely effecient in attending to us. Really impressed with it all.

Had a team meeting there. Tasty burgers, served quickly. Place was a bit empty during lunchtime on Tuesday.

I debated whether I should review or not as couldn't decide if the tastes are just not for me or it was a 2*. Ordered the liberty burger and wings, for me personally it was the wings that killed it, they were cooked well but felt like the marinade/sauce was soo soo salty and extremely sweet, way too overwhelming for me, palate was subdued by the wing assault so couldn't really taste the burger which really looked good so was kinda gutted. Personally I won't be back but if it's your cuppa tea, don't let this review put you off.

Found the waiting staff to be extremely rude but food was decent.

Food is great, but they didn’t give the student discount even though it said all day everyday on the website with no disclaimer about it not being on weekends. Also why do all the waitresses walk around chewing gum with their mouth open, can’t be the most hygienic? Overall though food was yum and decently priced so can’t complain.

The place is great and quirky with a unique take on burger resteraunt but.. The burgers we got, the "Blame it on the whiskey burger" and the butter blood and bleu" burger were not value for money. The burgers were very tasty but the bottom half of the bun which was soaked in grease and the whole thing felt thrown together. Both were not worth the £14.50 price tag, epecially when fries are not included. Great service but very overpriced for what you get. Save your money and go to Mc's.

Absolutely shocking today, went about 6 months ago and was spot on, totally different this time, chicken was pink and bbq sauce was way too overpowering and left a horrible taste, paid £42 for 2 cokes and took 30 mins to come. When we asked the the bill the waitress dropped cutlery all over are lass and stained her blazer and wasn’t bothered at all. Didn’t ask if anything was wrong with the food just took it away. Really not impressed at all and won’t be going back

I do love a good smash burger joint and this one is great, I love the theming of it, the playlist is awesome, the staff are really nice and friendly, and the food is great, did take about 25mins to get our food but on saturday and the quality of it, i’ll allow it, really loved the mac bites well worth it

The food was decent although £14.50 for a burger that wasn’t that big by itself no fries is abit much maybe I wasn’t paying attention but I don’t think it stated on the menu luckily I ordered an additional loaded fries for me and my partner to share which were nice the atmosphere was abit non existent the 1st waitress was nice but the last waitress seemed miserable when we payed the bill we usually tip but there was also a £4.80 service charge so we didn’t maybe that was why my partner said whilst did like the food she wouldn’t go back as taking everything into account it wasn’t value for money I myself would give it another chance as I now no what to expect and could improve my own experience

Popped in for quick burger at lunch time. Burger was a bit smaller than I expected but fry’s were really tasty. Very cheeky 10% service charge added. I was going to tip anyway but this is unusual for burger joint. Would I return, maybe for a quick take away.

The worst restaurant by far, I ordered a combo through Deliveroo and after two hours of waiting and non-existent customer service, I still haven't received my food. I can't even claim my money back because according to Deliveroo, I have to call the restaurant and they must agree to the cancellation. But guess what? When you call, it goes straight to voicemail. So my choice is to wait 3 hours for a burger or let them STEAL my money.

Visited here recently with my family. The food is great but the adults mains do come with fries so the burgers are a little pricey for that reason. On top of that an optional 10% service charge was added to the bill. This is a pet peeve of mine. I hate it when restaurants do this and I refuse to pay it on principle. Leaving a tip should be a matter of personal preference. The restaurants should not be trying to shame you into paying it ( I presume the ploy behind it is that people are too embarrassed to ask for it to be removed). I'm not. Additionally, although the food was really nice and we enjoyed it, I come back to the fact that you are paying around £20 for a burger and fries (albeit they come with separate toppings). Adding an extra 10% on just seems excessive. I also feel that if restaurants do this, they should make it clear what they do with this - do they keep it? Distribute to the staff? Use it to pay wages?

My favourite burger place in Leeds, especially for the loaded fries. Service is always warm and speedy. Appreciate their commitment to quality control too - their Phoenix Loaded Fries is supposed to be a good mix of sweet potato and normal fries, and that's one of the things that make it my favourite loaded fries in Leeds (as well as the toppings!), but today my order only had a few sweet potato fries, and when I pointed this out, they immediately remedied the issue, and then checked if I was satisfied (and yes I was!).

The pizza fries were way over cooked and it was like eating Doritos . The pizza fries were also way over priced. The chicken was okay though with terraki sauce . I will not be visiting this restaurant again.

Definately wouldn’t recommend the Leeds one if you want to try almost famous!! Very poor service, staff just didn’t care, giving out dirty looks, walking around with underwear pulled up to show off the “Calvin klien” banding and kept pulling them up through rather than pulling her trousers up, too busy chewing gum and flirting with customers. Food was mediocre, fries tasted burnt and then waited atleast 15 minutes for the bill after we asked for it. People next to us was vaping too and they didn’t get anything said to them, They also automatically add a service charge onto the receipt aswell which we did pay just to save the inconvenience or anymore dirty looks but definately won’t be back!

If you like a burger then it’s worth a visit. Relaxed dining, burgers are tasty. Maybe next time we’ll share the loaded fries!

Hands down one of the best spots in Leeds for burgers and fries. So so good!

New to the area, my fella found this place on Google Maps. It has amazing reviews, so off we went! We didn't book but could eat at the bar area. We still received the same service. The food came, and it was super hot and tasted amazing! Highly recommend this place, but book! Visited the toilets, and they looked like the walls could do with a wipe over. Water/drink marks all over.

First time visit to leeds, well in over 30 years and even though we didn't book we still managed to get a table. The place was full and lots of people still turning up for bookings, best to book. The food and service were brilliant, and the price was a shock 😲 so cheap 😁. Mac cheese balls were a close first place 😋

I hate leaving bad reviews but our experience last night has left a really bad taste in my mouth. We had a reservation for 7:30 and after a small delay our orders were taken, almost an hour later we didnt have any food and someone came over and told us that the kitchen had forgotten our order. We were told it would be 10 minutes for it to arrive but it took another 30 minutes to get our orders. The food itself was fine, but it wasn't particularly hot. We were given free drinks to apologise for the delay which we enjoyed, so we ordered another round afterwards and received only part of it so we chased up. Someone then came over and accused us of lying as they'd reviewed the CCTV and we had received our free drinks, when we explained that we'd ordered more that we were happy to pay for their attitude was just really poor. We ended up being the last people in the restaurant because of how delayed our food was which was no fault of our own but it was very clear they were trying to get us out as they abruptly turned the music off, turned the lights all the way up and were staring at us. A real shame as it seems like a restaurant we'd really enjoy but we won't be coming back. I will add that they offered us a discount which was appreciated but I don't think they handled the situation very well at all.

The burgers looked so promising and impressive on the menu but what we got on the the table had nothing to do with it. They were super small and not rich at all.

Always fantastic quality and service

Was absolutely loving my chicken burger, which arrived luke warm by deliveroo, until the end. There was something really hard on/in the chicken/coating that nearly broke my teeth. Luckily it was at the end and I was able to enjoy burger up to that point. Fries were good but also not hot.

We saw they were doing half price burgers for January so had to go. Glad we booked as it was obviously very busy. Staff were great, we were in and out within an hour, no messing out. Food came out quickly and everything we ordered was spot on. Definitely get the mac & cheese balls! 👌🏻 Only slight qualm was that everything could have been hotter. Plus paying to add salad onto your burger seemed a bit odd. There was only one burger that came with a ‘salad stack’ so you had to pay extra to add it to the others which I thought was a bit of a con. Usually salad comes as standard. But overall the experience was excellent. Good value for money with the promotion and generally quality food. Would definitely go back again.

Do yourself a favour and go to any of the other amazing burger places in Leeds. Food took over an hour, when it arrived it was stone cold. The burgers were dry and over-cooked. What made it worse was that the waiting staff did nothing to improve the experience - they never came over to apologise for the wait or update us on the situation with our food. Walk a few metres passed Almost Famous and go to Northern Market, or go to the Wardrobe for Slap & Pickle burgers.

Absolute rubbish, me and my son called in to take advantage of the 50% off offer!! Wow, more like 50% off the size of the burger, we left there feeling ripped off. Beware people, the offer isn’t as good as it seems.

Amazing burgers, great drink, top class friendly service, fries made from potatoes , a giant gorilla, and a table with sweets in it. We were very restrained, photos with the gorilla but the table remained unbroken and hence full of sweets.

Fantastic good at a very good price. It was hard to choose which burger to go for but I don't think you could go far wrong with any of them. The loaded fries are also very good, if you're not a big eater I'd recommend sharing one.

The burgers and food here are really nice, drinks are pricey but the food is good value and the bacon rain/mayo chips are recommended. I did think the toilet area was rather scruffy and needs some investment as it looks rather grubby.

Mostly you don't have to wait long for food but with half price burgers in January the waiting times were an hour for food. We pre booked a table to be sure as it was super busy when we arrived. The burgers are messy and the kitchen roll on the table is needed, but if you don't mind getting your hands messy then come get some amazing burgers! The pig and waffle fries are a favourite. Service is alright and the atmosphere is pretty good. I recommend the blame it on the whiskey burger and make sure you choose the canned drinks otherwise you're paying £4 for a watered down soft drink Will defo be going again!

Great burgers. A small selection of gluten free options here, excellent flavour. Menu says the chips are not GF due to being cooked with other menu items, but the staff assured me they were actually separate fryers so all good. Food was slow, we were given a discount, but worth the wait. Would like more alcohol free drinks options please (ciders).
